Qualified intervention/qualifying formation

An education promoting scientific literacy (SL) that prepares the citizens to a responsible citizenship has persisted as an argument across discussions on curricula design. The ubiquity of science and technology on contemporary societies and the ideological requirement of informed democratic participation led to the identification of relevant categories that drive curriculum reforms towards a humanistic approach of school science. The category ‘Science as culture’ acquires in the current work a major importance: it enlightens the meaning of scientific literacy. Looking closely to the French term, culture scientifique et tecnologique, turns science simultaneously into a cultural object and product that can be both received and worked at different levels and within several approaches by the individuals and the communities. On the other hand, nonformal and informal education spaces gain greater importance. Together with the formal school environment these spaces allow for an enrichment and diversification of learning experiences. Examples of nonformal spaces where animators can develop their work may be science museums or botanical gardens; television and internet can be regarded as informal education spaces. Due to the above mentioned impossibility of setting apart the individual or community-based experiences from Science and Technology (S&T), the work in nonformal and informal spaces sets an additional challenge to the preparation of socio-cultural animators. Socio-scientific issues take, at times, heavily relevance within the communities. Pollution, high tension lines, spreading of diseases, food contamination or natural resources conservation are among the socio-scientific issues that often call upon arguments and emotions. In the context of qualifying programmes on socio-cultural animation (social education and community development) within European Higher Education Area (EHEA) the present study describes the Portuguese framework. The comparison of programmes within Portugal aims to contribute to the discussion on the curriculum design for a socio-cultural animator degree (1st cycle of Bologna process). In particular, this study intends to assess how the formation given complies with enabling animators to work, within multiple scenarios, with communities in situations of socio-scientific relevance. A set of themes, issues and both current and potential fields of action, not described or insufficiently described in literature, is identified and analysed in the perspective of a qualified intervention of animators. One of these examples is thoroughly discussed. Finally, suggestions are made about curriculum reforms in order, if possible, to strongly link the desired qualified intervention with a qualifying formation.

A teoria dos detalhes luminosos de Ezra Pound e a teoria das cores e da vibração de Wassily Kandinsky: novas possibilidade exegéticas e tradutivas

O objectivo deste artigo é aplicar aos Estudos de Tradução Literária o binómio literatura-imagem com origem no Expressionismo alemão e no Vorticismo inglês, optando por um suporte teórico tão seminal quanto a ficcionalidade a que se destinava a expectativa programática dessas vanguardas, nas décadas dez e vinte do passado século. Da poética visual de Wassily Kandinsky, formulada em Über das Geistige in der Kunst - insbesondere in der Malerei [Do Espiritual na Arte](Kandinsky, 1912/1952), falarei da noção de Vibração. Da poética textual de Ezra Pound, exposta em ―I Gather the Limbs of Osiris‖ (1911/12), remeterei para a Teoria dos Detalhes Luminosos. São duas poéticas que, partindo de meios de expressão distintos – a imagem e a palavra, apresentam consideráveis pontos de contacto, no que diz respeito à abordagem produtiva e receptiva do objecto art��stico. Ambas suspendem a procura convencional de um sentido na arte e na literatura, reunindo novas possibilidades exegéticas e, por conseguinte, tradutivas: a articulação entre a palavra poética e a imagem, com um amplo leque de possibilidades relativo a modos de estrutura perceptual, que se viriam a revelar proféticos, muito especialmente no que diz respeito à Tradução Art��stica, seja literária ou intersemiótica.

Implementação de um programa de artes plásticas para a promoção da inclusão de alunos com Perturbações do Especto do Autismo

A aprendizagem cooperativa, através da qual os alunos se ajudam no processo de aprendizagem (Argyle, 1991; Balkcom, 1992; Johnson, Johnson, & Holubec, 1994) encontra nas artes plásticas um meio privilegiado de comunicação e estimulação sensorial. Este estudo visa examinar os efeitos da implementação de um programa de atividades cooperativas no âmbito das artes plásticas sobre o processo de inclusão de crianças com Perturbação do Espectro do Autismo (PEA) nas suas turmas de ensino regular, estando sobre análise: (i) o seu envolvimento e satisfação nas atividades dinamizadas; (ii) a interação estabelecida com os pares; (iii) e o apoio/ atitudes dos pares com desenvolvimento típico na relação com os colegas com PEA. Implementado em duas turmas do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, os efeitos do programa foram estudados, mediante a implementação de um estudo de caso único, tipo AB, com um desenho de múltiplas linhas de base. Para o efeito foram analisados registos de observação de seis crianças com autismo e de seis pares que compunham as díades de trabalho; e da entrevista aos professores das turmas. A socialização e desenvolvimento de atitudes positivas por parte dos alunos com desenvolvimento típico foi também aferida através de uma entrevista dirigida aos próprios. Os resultados são sugestivos de um global aumento da interação, do envolvimento e satisfação dos alunos com PEA – registando-se maior expressão destes indicadores aquando do uso de técnicas de teor mais sensorial (como monotipia, desenho, modelagem). O programa parece ter também promovido comportamentos mais apoiantes por parte dos pares na maximização da participação dos alunos com PEA - parecendo reforçar o reconhecimento das atividades art��sticas cooperativas como promotoras de relações de interajuda e de mútuo conhecimento.

The Portuguese monument called Batalha’s monastery has occupied an important place in Art History especially the unfinished chapels destined to be the Pantheon of the King D. Duarte. There we observe some interesting gargoyles, moral representations as an approach to the late medieval imaginary in the national context, but also common with the thoughts of King D. Duarte. Gargoyles mirrored the daily life of medieval men and women and displayed the confrontation between the religious and the social spheres by criticizing the behaviour of the sinful body, taking on an important educational role amongst audiences. This article aims to understand the moral sense and sexual behaviour that can observe in these gargoyles and its relation with the book Leal Conselheiro, written by D. Duarte some decades before.

A prestação de contas e o regime especial da invalidade das deliberações

The obligation of accountability, or the need to make known the economic and financial state of the companies, ceased to be a purely internal activity, becoming a necessity of a general nature. The knowledge of the financial state of the companies, wich is provided by accountability documents, reveals more and more elementary for all interested in the results obtained, whether in terms of profitability, either with a view to assessing the economic and financial health of the companies. This essay aims to a deeper analysis to matters of accountability, in particular, to the special invalidity scheme of corporate resolutions, wich is enshrined in art. 69º of Portuguese Companies Code. We chose to reference the accrual basis accounts approval, through the analysis of financial statements, laying down a set of principles and criteria applicable to different entities. After consideration of the special scheme versed in art. 69º, we conclude there is a certain ambiguity in the adoption of the criteria do delimit each of the hypotheses of the precept, since the legislator uses indeterminate concepts. Nevertheless, if there is a rule, this will be the annulment, and only exceptionally will apply the nullity scheme, where there is injury to the public interest and the interests of the creditors.

Emotional aspects of childhood career development: importance and future agenda

Childhood is a central period for career and social-emotional development. However, the literature covering childhood career development and the role of emotions in careers is scarce. In this article, we advocate for the consideration of emotions in childhood career development. Emotional aspects of children’s career exploration, key-figures and interests, as well as of childhood antecedents of lifelong career processes are presented. Relations between childhood emotion, behavior, functioning and learning are also presented. Conclusions center on a call for focused study of the role of emotion in childhood career development and how such an agenda will advance the literature.
