The purpose of this research is to discover development points for business processes and sales reporting in the recovered paper sourcing organization. The processes under development are both sales and sourcing processes that were determined by the commissioning company. All of these processes have in common that there are used sales orders to organize the money flows correctly. Although the main objective is to source only recovered paper, the sourcing also brings by-products that cannot be utilized and are thus sold. As the purpose of the sales function is to only support the sourcing strategy, it should be organized as efficiently as possible. Investigating the current status of the processes and finding development points help in building proposals for enhanced process descriptions. In order that sales function could be analyzed, should the sales reporting be accurate and present the needed key figures. The current status of the processes as well as the possible problems and development ideas were researched with the help of interviews. Best practices could also be brought from other business lines in the commissioning company. The theory part was build according to relevant literature and scientific articles. The research indicates, that processes have shaped differently in sourcing organization’s business units. Local infrastructure and legislation sets certain limitations to the sourcing of recovered paper, and these circumstances cannot be changed. Customer-supplier power relations also affect to the formulation of business processes. In order to steer the processes, there has to be more internal controls. Still, the enterprise resource planning system also sets boundaries how the processes can be made more efficient.

The goal of this thesis is to gain more in-depth understanding of employer branding and offer suggestions on how this knowledge could be utilized in the case company. More in detail, the purpose of this research is to provide tools for improving Lindström’s organizational attractiveness and boosting the recruitment and retention of the segment of high-performing sales professionals. A strategy for reaching this particular segment has not been previously drawn and HR-managers believe strongly that it would be very beneficial for the company’s development and growth. The topic of this research is very current for Lindström, but also contributes on general level as companies are competing against each other in attracting, recruiting and retention of skilled workforce in the times of labor shortage. The research is conducted with qualitative methods and the data collection includes primary data through interviews as well as secondary data in the form of analysis on previous research, websites, recruitment material and discussions with Lindström’s HR department. This research provides a good basis for broader examination on the topic and presents development suggestions for the identified challenges. Based on the key findings Lindström’s HR department was advised to increase firm’s visibility, broaden recruitment channels, provide more hands-on knowledge about the sales positions and investigate their possibilities of developing sales reward systems.

This article analyzes the job satisfaction of primary school teachers in Madagascar. Based on the estimation of multilevel models, low wages and problems getting paid, job insecurity, lack of in-service training, high pupil-teacher ratios, and lack of basic infrastructure and teaching materials are identified as the main reasons for dissatisfaction. Principals’ control of teachers’ activities also adversely affects satisfaction, suggesting that, in Malagasy schools, neither school directors nor teachers have succeeded in adopting organizational cultures based on cooperation among their members. These results are likely to stimulate debates on educational policy, both in Madagascar and in many other developing countries.

The quest for robust heuristics that are able to solve more than one problem is ongoing. In this paper, we present, discuss and analyse a technique called Evolutionary Squeaky Wheel Optimisation and apply it to two different personnel scheduling problems. Evolutionary Squeaky Wheel Optimisation improves the original Squeaky Wheel Optimisation’s effectiveness and execution speed by incorporating two additional steps (Selection and Mutation) for added evolution. In the Evolutionary Squeaky Wheel Optimisation, a cycle of Analysis-Selection-Mutation-Prioritization-Construction continues until stopping conditions are reached. The aim of the Analysis step is to identify below average solution components by calculating a fitness value for all components. The Selection step then chooses amongst these underperformers and discards some probabilistically based on fitness. The Mutation step further discards a few components at random. Solutions can become incomplete and thus repairs may be required. The repair is carried out by using the Prioritization step to first produce priorities that determine an order by which the following Construction step then schedules the remaining components. Therefore, improvements in the Evolutionary Squeaky Wheel Optimisation is achieved by selective solution disruption mixed with iterative improvement and constructive repair. Strong experimental results are reported on two different domains of personnel scheduling: bus and rail driver scheduling and hospital nurse scheduling.

The prevalence of Arterial Hypertension (AHT) has increased worldwide and preventive measures areinsufficient since only one third of the population is being treated. AHT is the primary cause of morbidity andmortality in the world. In this article is presented the first study on hypertension levels of personnel of aDistance Education university based on the analysis of all medical consultations in the Costa Rican StateUniversity for Distance Education (Universidad Estatal a Distancia-UNED) as of December 15, 2007 (1,526medical files). The population studied ranges from 20 to 70 years of age and is comprised of residents of theGreater Metropolitan Area (Costa Rica) with varied socioeconomic and academic levels. The StatgraphicsCenturion XV software and the chi-square test were used to analyze variables such as treatment administered,sex, age, and type of work. Only 45 patients knew that they suffered from hypertension prior to theirconsultation with the university medical service and 136 were treated with Enalapril and Hydrochlorothiazide.The number of hypertensive patients is higher among those who have worked at the institution for more than 20years, especially in those holding higher positions. No marked differences were found between men andwomen. It is concluded that the existence of a university medical service has permitted faculty and staff tosatisfactorily control their blood pressure.

The management of its people defines the way in which an organisation develops the capabilities to successfully compete in the market environment. Since the 1950s, approaches to staff management have evolved from traditional bureaucratic foundations to strategic planning exercises. This article uses a case study approach to investigate the way in which the process of organisational learning evolved in the development of personnel management practices. It suggests that although old and new practices were often overlaid on each other, ‘bridges’ developed which allowed the progressive development of new managerial processes.

Cette recherche porte sur le processus de renouvellement personnel et professionnel d’une enseignante et directrice d’une école de musique (Ecole Musique en mouvement), à la faveur de l’accompagnement formation à médiation corporelle que j’ai mis en place, afin de répondre à sa demande de formation. L’étude s’inscrit dans le domaine de l’éducation et de la formation continue des adultes ; l’accompagnement formation s’enracine dans le paradigme du Sensible. Dans le champ théorique, après avoir éclairé le carrefour entre des processus de changement et les actions d’accompagnement formation qui tentent de les favoriser, j’ai présenté la Psychopédagogie Perceptive et développé la spécificité de cette démarche d’accompagnement formatif à médiation corporelle. La posture épistémologique déployée est celle d’un praticien chercheur qui opte pour une démarche heuristique d’analyse qualitative. C’est à partir d’une méthodologie de recueil croisé (journal de bord de la participante à la recherche et entretiens face à face), que j’ai effectué une analyse catégorielle d’inspiration phénoménologique, suivie d’une analyse herméneutique des données, afin de comprendre les incidences de notre pratique sur la sphère de la vie personnelle et de la vie professionnelle de l’enseignante et directrice, dans les champs de sa perception, de sa cognition et de ses actions.

In recent years, firms (and lawmakers) have sought to mitigate the dysfunctional effects of incentive-based executive compensation by adopting clawbacks. However, extant clawbacks (whether firm-initiated or as mandated by the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act) do not go far enough in that they seem to allow executives to retain trading profits linked to sales of their own companies' shares at a time of inflated earnings (Fried and Shilon, 2011). In this paper, we examine the moderating effect of insider sales on the relation between firm-initiated clawback-adoptions and fraud risk. Our results indicate that clawback-adopting firms experience a decrease in fraud risk following adoption relative to non-adopters during the same time period. However, this decrease in fraud risk for the clawback-adopting firms is materially weakened in the presence of insider trading. At this time (July 2014), the SEC is still working on rules for implementing clawbacks (one of nearly half of the rules yet to be completed under Dodd-Frank). Our findings suggest that clawback rules (as and when issued by the SEC) need to address insider sales for clawbacks to be fully effective in mitigating the risk of fraudulent financial reporting.

Par une revue de la littérature et une enquête socio-démographique auprès des membres d’un syndicat, la recherche analyse l’impact de la diversité des identités professionnelles à l’égard de la représentation syndicale. En contexte de crise du syndicalisme et de renouveau syndical, émanent deux hypothèses : les catégories professionnelles ont une influence différenciée sur les besoins et attentes de représentation syndicale et les différents rapports au travail influencent les besoins et attentes de représentation syndicale. Il appert que la diversité des identités professionnelles a une influence sur la représentation syndicale. Également, la diversité des identités professionnelles commande qu’on ne peut opposer une représentation syndicale liée directement aux conditions de travail à une représentation syndicale élargie aux conditions de vie. La multitude d’intérêts des membres freine une classification des travailleurs selon leur identité professionnelle, qui s’avère multiple.

Cet essai s’intéresse à l’autonomie des jeunes adultes ayant un handicap moteur, physique, sensoriel ou intellectuel et qui ont participé à la démarche de la transition de l’école à la vie active (TÉVA). L’objectif de l’essai est de répertorier les manifestations d’autodétermination dans leur vie professionnelle, scolaire et personnelle. Le contenu des 23 entrevues conduites auprès d’élèves ayant participé à la TÉVA ou de leurs proches dans le cadre d’une étude de Bourdon et Lessard (2015) portant sur la modélisation de la démarche TÉVA en Estrie a été analysé afin d’en extraire les manifestations d’autodétermination. L’analyse thématique des entrevues a permis d’identifier des manifestations d’autodétermination issues d’une régulation externe, d’une régulation introjectée et d’une régulation identifiée. Les résultats obtenus révèlent que les jeunes adultes ayant participé à la TÉVA semblent avoir une bonne connaissance d’eux-mêmes, de leurs intérêts scolaires et professionnels. En contrepartie, le sentiment de compétence, la fierté personnelle et la connaissance des actions à poser pour atteindre leurs objectifs semblent se présenter moins fréquemment en termes de manifestation d’autodétermination chez les jeunes adultes de l’échantillon. Dans peu de cas, les élèves ont rapporté avoir entamé de leur propre chef des démarches pour obtenir un milieu de stage pour lequel ils entretenaient de l’intérêt. L'analyse des entrevues a également révélé que la conseillère ou le conseiller d'orientation ne semble pas être une professionnelle ou un professionnel particulièrement sollicité pour soutenir les élèves en difficulté dans l'élaboration d'un projet professionnel. Bien que l’implication de la famille et du milieu scolaire des jeunes à propos de la transition à la vie adulte et de l’élaboration de projets soit sans aucun doute essentielle, les compétences du conseiller d’orientation en matière d’accompagnement des élèves dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre d’un projet scolaire ou professionnel pourraient être également mises à profit pour mieux préparer et accompagner les jeunes adultes dans leur transition. Ainsi, les données analysées dans le cadre de cet essai indiquent qu’il y a une place à prendre pour les conseillers d’orientation dans le soutien des élèves vivant avec un handicap.

Le renouvellement du corps professoral dans le programme de soins infirmiers pose au moins deux défis. D'une part, la pénurie du personnel infirmier dans les hôpitaux rend difficile le recrutement du personnel enseignant en soins infirmiers; d'autre part, l'arrivée d'enseignantes et d'enseignants inexpérimentés dilue l'expertise du corps professoral d'expérience. En conséquence, cette situation demande qu'on y porte attention de façon particulière. On observe que le nouveau personnel enseignant réalise bien souvent la tâche d'enseignement par essais et erreurs, mais que certaines personnes reçoivent parfois de l'aide d'une personne-ressource, tel un mentor, qui les guide. Ainsi, les collèges mettent en place divers programmes d'insertion professionnelle qui visent à permettre à ces novices de mieux intégrer le marcher du travail et de diminuer leur stress. Parmi ceux-ci, le mentorat s'avère être une solution intéressante. Ce nouveau personnel a de nombreux besoins lors de son insertion professionnelle. Lorsqu'un mentor guide un novice, il n'a pas toujours de libération de tâches pour accomplir cet accompagnement. Il le fait alors de façon informelle, du meiux qu'il peut, sans nécessairement être bien préparé. De plus, les outils pour aider les mentors sont peu développés. Ainsi, un guide qui permettrait aux mentors d'aider les novices dans leur cheminement pourraît être la solution à ce problème.
