Title: «Mediterranean diet in Portuguese proverbs». Mediterranean diet has been considered Immaterial World Patrimony since December 2013. It is characteristic of basin Mediterranean people (Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Croatia) and includes their gastronomy with local products, their traditions, their culture and their healthy lifestyle. Mediterranean diet is passed on from one generation to another mostly orally and it is likewise present in phraseological units, especially in proverbs. This paper analyses Portuguese proverbs aiming to show their importance when transmitting cookingrelated knowledge and information, such as, local ingredients, cooking techniques and the social function, both daily or on holidays. Since the practice of physical exercise is so important for the Mediterranean diet, our study includes physical exercise and relaxation-related proverbs as well.

A criação de uniões, como a União Europeia e o Mercosul, o aumento do intercâmbio de mercadorias, de informações e conhecimentos, etc. estabelece novos trabalhos na área da Terminologia Científica e Técnica, tanto bilíngue como monolíngue, inclusive entre variantes de uma mesma língua, como o Português Brasileiro (PB) e o Português Europeu (PE), o que torna relevante o conhecimento das variantes fraseoterminológicas entre duas normas linguísticas para o especialista e para o tradutor. Sendo a Culinária uma área que proporciona vários tipos de intercâmbios, como linguístico, cultural, mercantil, etc. e, dessa forma, necessitando trocar conhecimentos, nosso estudo propõe, através de uma perspectiva interdisciplinar que engloba a Terminologia, numa ótica variacionista, a Fraseologia e a Linguística de Corpus, estabelecer critérios para identificar, emparelhar, contrastar e descrever as unidades fraseoterminológicas (UFT) da Culinária do PB e do PE, almejando, por conseguinte, estruturá-las numa ferramenta que seja útil aos especialistas, estudantes e tradutores dessa área. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho está organizado em sete capítulos. O primeiro, apresenta a Culinária, traçando um panorama histórico dessa área, e estabelece o mapa conceitual da Culinária que, além de servir para a organização das relações conceituais no dicionário, limita o universo da pesquisa. O segundo aborda a variação em Terminologia, bem como as principais tendências da Terminologia que aceitam a variação terminológica. O terceiro explana a Fraseologia, desde a língua corrente até à língua de especialidade, e estabelece os critérios para recolha dos candidatos a UFT da Culinária. O quarto apresenta brevemente a Linguística de Corpus e traça os caminhos seguidos para a constituição dos dois corpora textuais da Culinária, compostos de receitas culinárias e técnicas de preparo, os quais serviram para o levantamento da terminologia. O quinto trata da coleta e organização das unidades fraseoterminológicas da Culinária em PB bem como das respectivas variantes em PE e seu armazenamento em Base de Dados. O sexto, analisa a variação entre os pares de UFT selecionados para esse fim, descreve os contrastes detectados, e apresenta uma tipologia contrastiva dessas UFT variantes entre PB e PE. O sétimo apresenta o projeto do Dicionário Fraseológico Contrastivo de Culinária: Português Brasileiro - Português Europeu, descrevendo suas partes e o sistema de remissivas. Com base nas reflexões teóricas e na análise dos dados recolhidos, pudemos, além de identificar, emparelhar e descrever as diferentes formas assumidas do discurso da Culinária pelas UFT, chegar a um projeto de dicionário fraseoterminológico, cuja microestrutura possibilitará, mais que compreender o significado da UT, encontrar elementos para produzir um texto, visando, desse modo, as necessidades reais de tradutores e redatores, que carecem de recursos para o uso adequado das UFT presentes nas línguas de especialidade. Os resultados obtidos reafirmam que a variação terminológica é um fenômeno inerente aos domínios de especialidade, assim como às línguas naturais em que estão inseridas e, portanto, não deve ser ignorado na hora de elaborar dicionários terminológicos.

Domestic violence is one of the most serious problems that contemporary society faces. Domestic violence that specifically occurs between spouses is a particular case of domestic violence that has caused a high number of victims - mostly women - putting thus an enormous challenge to states with regard to combating this problem. In this thesis we intend to proceed with the study of this phenomenon in the Angolan context. The objective of this study is trying to understand how such violence is manifested in Angola, what factors may be at it’s source and what effects can be observed on the victims, their families and in society itself. Being the Angolan people strongly linked to traditions and customs, it seemed interesting to also address the issue of domestic violence under customary law. In addition to the problem of the study itself, we proceed to exposure and analysis of how the state and civil society have intervened in this matter. At the end of this study, we conclude that despite the fact that the issue of domestic violence has received more attention in recent years from the public entities and society in general, there is still a long way to go. This path involves not only more actions of the state but also a change of mentality, which can enable the break with social stereotypes in adopting a different behavior over the issue under review and internalizing that human dignity is the basic principle of any state that proclaims democratic rights.

“One cannot analyse a legal concept outside the economic and socio-cultural context in which it was applied” – such is the longstanding thesis of António Manuel Hespanha. I argue that Hespanha’s line of argument relative to legal concepts is also applicable, mutatis mutandis, to legal agents: the magistrates, advocates, notaries, solicitors and clerks who lived and exercised their professions in a given time and place. The question, then, is how to understand the actions of these individuals in particular contexts – more specifically in late 18th century and 19th century Goa. The main goal of the present thesis was to comprehend how westernized and Catholic Goan elite of Brahman and Chardó origin who provided the majority of Goan legal agents used Portuguese law to their own advantage. It can be divided into five key points. The first one is the importance of the Constitutional liberalism regime (with all the juridical, judicial, administrative and political changes that it has brought, namely the parliamentary representation) and its relations with the perismo – a local political and ideological tendency nurtured by Goan native Catholic elite. It was explored in the chapter 2 of this thesis. The second key point is the repeated attempts made by Goan native Catholic elite to implement the jury system in local courts. It was studied in the chapter 3. Chapter 4 aims to understand the participation of the native Catholic elite in the codification process of the uses and traditions of the indigenous peoples in New Conquests territory. The fourth key point is the involvement of those elites not only in the conflict of civil and ecclesiastical jurisdictions but also in the succession of the Royal House of Sunda. It was analyzed in the chapter 5. The functions of an advocate could be delegated to someone who, though lacking a law degree, possessed sufficient knowledge to perform this role satisfactorily. Those who held a special licence to practice law were known as provisionários (from provisão, or licence, as opposed to the letrados, or lettered). In the Goa of the second half of the 18th century and the 19th century, such provisionários were abundant, the vast majority coming from the native Catholic elite. The characteristics of those provisionários, the role played by the Portuguese letrados in Goa and the difficult relations between both groups were studied in the chapter 6.

Afin de tenir compte de ces recommandations pour notre alimentation quotidienne, il faut adapter aussi bien les menus domestiques destinés à la famille que les menus des cantines sur les lieux de travail, et ceci de façon simultanée. Ce but peut être atteint sans modifier nos traditions alimentaires, ni même notre approvisionnement.Le respect de ces directives permettra d'équilibrer rapidement notre alimentation et adapter notre consommation à nos besoins réels.

La mort est au centre de toutes les sociétés. Quelles que soient les procédures funéraires suivies - de la crémation du cadavre à l'embaumement le plus sophistiqué -, la mort fait l'objet de traitements obéissant aux conceptions que les sociétés se font de la mort elle-même, du devenir du défunt et des relations que les vivants entretiennent avec ce dernier. Si la mort donne lieu à des rites funéraires fort variés, ceux-ci partagent cependant des fonctions communes: prendre acte d'une rupture tout en la dissolvant dans le temps long d'une transition, créer un espace dans le temps ordinaire continu, recomposer du lien social là où la mort a imposé un vide.... Etudier les rites funéraires, c'est donc s'intéresser aux réponses culturelles développées par les êtres humains face à la mort biologique, s'interroger sur les pratiques mises en place pour accompagner les défunts, mais aussi aborder la question du deuil et de la séparation des vivants d'avec leurs morts. -- Trois dimensions Pour transmettre ces connaissances, une nouvelle forme de communication multimédia a été mise au point au sein d'une équipe interdisciplinaire sciences humaines-informatique : «les eTalks», un nouveau nom que nous nous permettons d'utiliser désormais en français. Cette nouvelle forme est décrite plus bas. Quant à leur contenu, les eTalks proposés sont issus de deux cycles de formation continue organisés par l'Université de Lausanne et la Haute école pédagogique du canton de Vaud en 2010 et 2012. Les conférences, données par des professeurs d'université, de Hautes Ecoles ou par des praticiens, s'adressaient à un public provenant d'horizons professionnels très variés (enseignants, agents funéraires, membres du corps médical, représentants des communautés religieuses, etc.). Il est donc à relever que les genres littéraires de ces e-talks varient, depuis la communication académique standard, jusqu'aux témoignages de professionnels engagés sur le terrain. -- Pour des raisons de clarté, nous avons regroupé les eTalks en trois sous-thèmes: -- 1. A la découverte des cultures funéraires Génératrice de culture depuis la préhistoire, la mort suscite des attitudes et des pratiques diversifiées selon les époque et les sociétés. Les eTalks regroupés ici visent à présenter et à expliquer des pratiques funéraires développées dans trois traditions religieuses distinctes - l'Egypte ancienne, le monde réformé (du XVIe - XIXe siècle) et l'islam - et invitent ainsi à comparer des usages provenant d'horizons culturels très différents. -- 2. Rites funéraires sur le terrain Dans nos sociétés très institutionnalisées, la mort et les demandes de rites funéraires qui en découlent ont aussi un impact au sein des établissements professionnels que l'on fréquente à différentes étapes de nos vies. Les eTalks regroupés ici s'intéressent aux rites funéraires et à la gestion du deuil dans des institutions telles que l'école, les établissements médico-sociaux, le monde du travail et les pompes funèbres. Ils joignent des recherches menées sur le terrain et rendent compte des expériences vécues par les acteurs institutionnels confrontés à la mort. -- 3. Rites funéraires contemporains Certains déplorent la déperdition des rites funéraires dans nos sociétés contemporaines. Mais en est-il vraiment ainsi ? N'assiste-t-on pas aujourd'hui à une revitalisation des formes rituelles que ce soit à travers la reélaboration de pratiques anciennes ou la création de nouveaux rites ? Les eTalks regroupés ici démontrent en tous les cas une grande vitalité rituelle que ce soit par le biais de la réinterprétation et de l'adaptation des traditions religieuses ou de la créativité dont témoignent des non-croyants. Ils indiquent qu'après un temps marqué par l'éloignement de la mort, nous sommes peut-être engagés dans des formes multiples de réappropriation de cette dernière.

Objective: To assess if screening programs and treatment of preoperative malnutrition have been implemented into surgical practice to decrease morbidity. There is strong evidence that postoperative morbidity can be minimized by early identifying and treating patients at nutritional risk before major surgery.The validated nutritional risk score (NRS) is recommended by the European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition for nutritional screening. It remains unclear whether routine preoperative nutritional assessment and perioperative nutrition is widely implemented.Methods: A survey was conducted in 173 Swiss and Austrian surgical departments. Implementation of nutritional screening, perioperative nutrition, and estimated impact on clinical outcome were assessed. Non-responders were repeatedly contacted by the authors.Results: The overall response rate was 55%, whereby 69% (54/78) of Swiss and 44% (42/95) of Austrian centers responded. Despite 80% and 59% of the responding centers are aware of a reduced complication rate and shortened hospital stay, respectively, only 20% of them implemented routine nutritional screening. Financial (49%) and logistic restrictions (33%) are the predominant reasons against the routine clinical use. Screening is mainly performed either in the outpatient's clinic (52%) or during admission (54%). The NRS is only used by 14%. Instead, various clinical (78%), e.g. BMI and laboratory findings (56%), e.g. albumine, are used. Indication for perioperative nutrition is based on preoperative screening in 49%.While 23% use preoperative nutrition, 68% apply nutritional support pre- and postoperatively. Preoperative nutritional treatment ranged from three days (33%), to five days (31%) and even seven days (20%).Conclusion: Despite malnutrition is well recognized as major risk factor for increased postoperative morbidity, the majority of surgeons are reluctant to implement routine screening and nutritional support. If nutritional assessment is performed, local institutional screening parameters are still preferred. It remains difficult to overcome traditions, and to change surgeon's mind.

Etude de la place de la citation dans les films muets qui se sont approprié le récit évangélique. On se penchera d'abord sur les modalités de référence au texte biblique dans les intertitres, en analysant le statut énonciatif conféré aux diverses mentions par des phénomènes typographiques, linguistiques ou stylistiques. On considérera ensuite l'image pour découvrir qu'elle se nourrit de références d'ordre iconographique, et procède au niveau visuel d'un même jeu citationnel. Cette référence ostentatoire à un hypotexte canonique sera envisagée en termes d'ennoblissement moral et artistique, à une époque où le cinéma est seulement en phase d'institutionnalisation culturelle.

Dans la psychologie dévelopementale proposée par Jérôme Bruner, la question de la " culture " se traduit par l'attention particulière donnée aux processus par lesquels une personne rend signifiante la situation dans laquelle elle est engagée. De fait, dans la psychologie du développement de ces cinquante dernières années, la place de la " culture " varie parallèlement à celle des questions du sens (privé) et de la signification (partagée) des connaissances, des actions et des objets de culture. Dans cet article, nous identifions quatre traditions de travaux qui abordent la " culture " dans le développement. Cela met en évidence certains problèmes théoriques et méthodologiques, et nous permet de souligner certains enjeux actuels de la psychologie sociale et culturelle du développement.
