Per aconseguir aquest objectiu no es necessita cap coneixement extra de complicats programes per assolir resultats atractius i útils. Es proporcionarà als docents la recopilació i estructuració de materials digitals que estan distribuïts a la xarxa, així com el desenvolupament de diferents activitats didàctiques basades en el nou disseny curricular.

The Department of Education and Skills is developing a new Digital Strategy for Schools to be completed during 2015. The Digital Strategy for Schools will set out how Department of Education and Skills’ priorities can be delivered and facilitated by the use of technology in education. The development of the Strategy is of critical importance to Ireland if it is to realise the potential of ICT in schools and prepare our young people to live, learn and work in the 21st century. The Department of Education and Skills has partnered with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) to seek the views of young people through a structured consultation process informed by DCYA expertise in consulting with young people.

To Members of the 82nd General Assembly, As we begin the second year of our Administration, we are pleased to submit the Fiscal Year 2009 budget for the State of Iowa pursuant to Iowa Code Section 8.21 and our constitutional authority. This budget recognizes the progress that we began last year with improvements in education, economic development, energy independence, and health care; provides funding for new policy initiatives in these areas; and is based on fiscally sound budget practices. Building on last year’s accomplishments, our Fiscal Year 2009 General Fund budget proposes an additional $75 million for increasing teachers’ salaries as part of our goal to move Iowa closer to the national average. We lay the foundation for student achievement by recommending $32.1 million for pre-school education, and we also propose $177.5 million in total for community colleges and $726.2 million in total for Regents universities. To make our State more energy independent, our General Fund budget appropriates the second-year funding of $25 million for the new Iowa Power Fund. The newly established Office of Energy Independence will soon start making awards from the Power Fund. Apart from the budget, we will be making several proposals to implement the new State energy plan. We have pledged to expand the number of Iowans who have health-care coverage. As a result, we are recommending additional funding for enrollment growth in the State Children Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). These additional funds will help the State provide coverage for another 25 percent of children who are eligible but not yet enrolled in hawk-i and the Iowa Medicaid Program. To protect the safety of Iowans, we are recommending issuance of revenue bonds for approximately $260 million in net proceeds to build a new state penitentiary in Ft. Madison, renovate and expand the Women’s Correctional Institution at Mitchellville, upgrade kitchen facilities at the Rockwell City and Mt. Pleasant Correctional Institutions, and expand Community-Based Correctional Facilities in Ottumwa, Sioux City, Waterloo, and Des Moines. Additionally, we are including funding for developing a prototype program for providing parolees and low-risk offenders with mental health and drug abuse treatment and educational services to help them make a crime-free re-entry into our communities. As part of this Capitals Budget, we also propose using $20 million for the State’s matching share for building new facilities at the Iowa Veterans Home. Iowa Budget Report iv Fiscal Year 2009 Importantly, our budget continues to fully fund our State’s Reserve Funds to help buffer Iowa from any future economic downturn. We recommend reimbursing $78.2 million to the Property Tax Credit Fund as part of our multi-year proposal to correct bad budgeting practices and eventually restore $160.0 million to this Fund. To provide more transparency, we are transferring operational expenditures in the Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund to the General Fund and expenditures from the Endowment for Healthy Iowans and Healthy Iowans Tobacco Trust Funds to the General Fund. We believe that Iowa has charted a new course of becoming energy independent, providing quality pre-school education, recognizing the importance of our teachers, and providing greater health coverage for children. Our Fiscal Year 2009 budget and policy priorities reflect our continuing faith in Iowa’s ability to be the best state in the nation. Using an event-study methodology, this paper analyzes the aftermath of civil war in a cross-section of countries. It focuses on those experiences where the end of conflict marks the beginning of a relatively lasting peace. The paper considers 41 countries involved in internal wars in the period 1960-2003. In order to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the aftermath of war, the paper considers a host of social areas represented by basic indicators of economic performance, health and education, political development, demographic trends, and conflict and security issues. For each of these indicators, the paper first compares the post- and pre-war situations and then examines their dynamic trends during the post-conflict period. It conducts this analysis both in absolute and relative terms, the latter in relation to control groups of otherwise similar countries. The paper concludes that, even though war has devastating effects and its aftermath can be immensely difficult, when the end of war marks the beginning of lasting peace, recovery and improvement are indeed achieved.

Vista de lluny, és gairebé rodona, de color blau, verd, ocre ... amb núvols blancs; vista de prop, formada per una diversitat meravellosa d'éssers que estan vivint amb interdependencia els uns amb els altres. Així, parlar deis drets de la Terra vol dir parlar deis drets de les muntanyes, de les glaceres mil-lenaries i deis cims d'intens silenci, de les cascades, de les valls verdes i els prats coberts de flors silvestres. Deis rius i rierols, deis llacs i els aqüífers, de la mar i del sol fertil que alimenta i acull.

L'Espai Europeu d'Educació Superior planteja reptes ineludibles que caldrà abordar a mig i llarg termini en tant que impliquen un canvi cultural difícil d'incorporar sobtadament per bona part de la comunitat acadèmica. El debat sobre el tipus de plans d'estudis (el seu contingut i estructura) i sobre les formes organitzatives i de treball que hi haurien de portar aparellades no és un debat sobre el format o l'aparença en què organitzem el treball sinó sobre el propi sentit del treball, de la missió de les institucions universitàries i del nostre rol com a professors i professores.

Aquest estudi es proposa mostrar les condicions i les exigències de l'avaluació en l'EEES a partir del seu marc regulador. La primera conclusió és que aquestes condicions no venen imposades per aquest marc sinó que deriven de la relació de coherència entre l'avaluació i l'aprenentatge, del qual en forma part. Només si entenem l'avaluació com un problema de disseny del programa educatiu, com proposen els nous enfocaments educatius, serem capaços d'oferir propostes que tendeixin cap a una avaluació més qualitativa i més personalitzada. En aquest context, el repte consisteix a trobar instruments que atenguin aquestes necessitats i alhora siguin prou fiables tot intentant evitar la trivialització. Ateses les limitacions d'espai, però, no és possible entrar en el detall de cadascuna d'aquestes propostes.

En este artículo, al tiempo que se reclama la necesidad de llevar a cabo investigaciones que permitan conocer qué está pasando en la escuela primaria, se señalan y analizan cuatro aspectos que pueden servir como indicadores de una situación que se define como de «calma blanca», es decir, de tiempo de espera en el que casi nada sucede: (a) la preeminencia de la noción de aprendiz frente a la de sujeto pedagógico; (b) el papel de los libros de texto como mediadores de aprendizaje; (c) las concepciones sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje y (d) la organización del curriculum por materias. Estos cuatro aspectos se consideran como ejemplos de una situación en la educación primaria, frente a la que se proponen algunas vías para repensar el estado actual de cosas y salir de él.

Aquest treball d’investigació pretén aprofundir en les nocions relatives al paisatge sonor; un tema poc treballat en l’àrea curricular d’Educació Musical. Primerament amb la fonamentació, s’han extret les principals idees dels diferents autors que han treballat i investigat el tema del paisatge sonor. Posteriorment, analitzant aquest marc teòric s’ha intentat aprofundir en el tema i, per escollir i dissenyar activitats que hem realitzat a l’aula. A fi de poder analitzar i observar in situ aquest procés s’ha aplicat durant dos mesos a dues aules de música amb alumnes d’entre 7 i 8 anys i, pel que fa resultats, no hi ha dubte que amb aquest enfocament del fenomen de l’escolta –buscant una centralització en allò essencial i elemental del fet perceptiu-, podem constatar que es produeix un increment quantitatiu i qualitatiu del reconeixement dels sons de l’entorn, i una millora en la percepció de les qualitats del so i la capacitat de reflexió i descripció.

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää ja arvioida kahden konetekniikan maisteriohjelman vaikuttavuutta ohjelmiin osallistuneiden opiskelijoiden ja heidän työnantajiensa näkökulmasta. Aikuiskoulutuksen vaikuttavuutta arvioidaan teemoilla osaaminen, tiedon siirtyminen yrityselämään ja työura. Lisäksi tarkastellaan millaista tukea aikuisopiskelija saa ja arvioidaan jatkotarpeita vastaaville koulutuksille. Tutkimus toteutettiin opiskelijoille tehdyn kvantitatiivisen kyselylomaketutkimuksen ja työnantajille tehdyn kvalitatiivisen teemahaastattelututkimuksen avulla. Menetelmät täydentävät tutkimuksessa toisiaan ja antavat eri näkökulmia käsiteltäviin aiheisiin. Tulokset esitetään rinnakkain, joten samalla on mahdollisuus vertailla niiden tuloksia keskenään. Opiskelulla on selvästi vaikutusta ammatilliseen ja muuhun osaamiseen. Opiskellessa tullutta tietoa siirtyy työyhteisöön harjoitustöiden, palaverien ja varsinkin epävirallisten keskustelujen kautta. Uraan opiskelu vaikuttaa selvästi edistävästi, yritysten onkin syytä antaa valmistuneille uusia haasteita jos haluavat pitää nämä itsellään. Tukea aikuisopiskelija kaipaa monelta suunnalta, mutta erityisesti perheeltään. Vastaavanlaiselle, ja myös muulle alueelliselle koulutukselle on selkeä tarve myös jatkossa.

By interpreting research results about textbooks this study tries to answer the question: how should texts be formulated to optimize the learning of the reading pupil? Seven perspectives structure the research: History. The amount of information available in a society influences the learning offered by textbooks. A compressed description indicates that memorizing activities have turned to tendencies for critical reading. Curriculum. The decentralization of curriculum development accentuates the importance of the textbook authors as interpreters of significant information. Because of the authority of textbooks, the way that information is presented can function as an unintended curriculum. Use. In the use of textbooks different functions can be identified. Thus the textbooks have, for instance, an authoritarian, a cohesive and a disciplinary function. Level of difficulty. A text that optimally matches the skills of the readers ina class should both provide facilitating scaffolds for the learning and at the same time challenge especially capable students by not being too obvious. Changing of preconceptions. The only possible starting point for teaching is the knowledge developed earlier by the student. In certain areas misconceptions are usual, which motivates the use of conceptual change texts that enhance the transformation of earlier obtained knowledge. Coherence. Well structured texts can usually be considered beneficial for learning. The same applies to the use of meta-discourse guiding the reader through the text. If the structuring is too obvious, the content may not, at least by capable students, be processed on a deep level. Content. The analysis underlines the need for deep approaches in textbooks. Though this is a relative statement, textbooks from a learning perspective seem to have been too superficial in their presentations. Ten principles were developed as a concluding interpretation of the good textbook. Though these principles capture important tendencies for developing a good textbook, textbook writing has to be considered as an art that cannot be captured in a short formula. The paradoxes identified indicate that the results should be seen as a starting point for further research.
