The objective of this text is to discuss a central question in a doctorate study, in progress, about the learning of the speech genre in self-confrontation situations. This consists of a procedure, which a worker observes your own images, video recorded at the time it performs activities related to their craft; It requests that he comment on what he was doing on the images in order to clarify matters for himself and another - be it a intervenant (simple self-confrontation) or a coworker (crossed self-confrotation). (CLOT, 2008/2010). In the context of this research, the confronted workers are university teachers and students who participate in an action of teacher continuing education. The object of the research is the process of speech genre of learning self-confrontation situation, having as subject a person who conducts self-confrontations training, which initially observed the conduct of dialogues and reflections, and will gradually participating in the self-confrontation activity and becoming also forming another. The theoretical foundations of the research seeks an articulation between sciences such as the Psychology of Labor, the Cultural-historical Psychology and Linguistics. The concepts that are employed come from Clot´s theory of the Psychology of Labor, that is, from the Clinic of Activity and from the activity genre studies (CLOT, 2008/2010); they also come from the Vygotskian theory of human development, with the concepts of thinking and speech (VIGOTSKI, 1934/1998); and from the Bakhtinian dialogic principle (BAKHTIN, 1979/2011). We believe that the formation of the person conducting self-confrontation occurs through learning a gender of speech and a genre of activity.

This dissertation analyses, through a rhetorical framework and a literary approach, texts written in Catalan and Castilian by four Catalan female writers (Dolors Monserdà, Maria Aurèlia Capmany, Esther Tusquets, Monserrat Roig ), whose works cover from 1900 to the 1980. Utilizing this urban feminine literature, it discusses the historical-geographical vision about the changes in Catalan society during the twentieth century with its consequences for the urban space, especially the space occupied by women. It is also established that Barcelona’s recovery and literary vindication by women has been done through the written text, as literary affirmation and as a matter of conscience in which the city could not be summed up as a backdrop, but rather as an active part of a literary creation, active in the double sense, as a socio-historical space in the novel and as characteristic of their works. The primary purpose of this dissertation is to demonstrate that the use of the city as a setting for the novels determines and characterizes those female writers’ texts. Consequently, these writings are literary material relevant and essential to the understanding of the Barcelonian women’s space. However their use of space is not arbitrary, on the contrary it corresponds to a social order established by the patriarchy where the relation of women to the world is embodied in the intentional and socially restricted space and movements of their bodies. The theoretical perspectives of this study are based on Montserrat Roig’s feminist urban space theories. Her theory advocates the right to individuality, denouncing the patriarchal and hierarchical social system present in gendered space from the outside male world to the domestic feminized space. I also turn to the writings of Maria Aurèlia Capmany, who addresses cultural aspects of women’s roles revealing a purposive controlled patriarchal society according to a historical-geographical analysis. This study of texts permits a new reading of the Catalan capital and demonstrates that Catalan women writers have consciously willed to give birth to a new history of the city: the history of women as protagonist citizens, producers, reproducers, and consumers of the space represented by the Catalan capital

From early 1950s to the early 1970s Britain is said to have experienced an ‘age of affluence’. Whilst material conditions for many households improved in these decades, this detailed examination of budget management processes shows that for many working-class households, these gains were the product of hard work and careful money management. Using oral history methodology, this thesis explores lived experiences of the household economy to illuminate these qualifications to ‘affluence’. In so doing, this thesis advances analysis which considers the relationship between the macro-level economic conditions of affluence and the everyday economic realities of households in the post-war period. The thesis examines the operation of the household economy and shows how working-class households utilised domestic labour, budgeting, paid work, credit and thrift to make ends meet, as well as to achieve ‘affluence’. Further, by exploring these areas of the household economy, this thesis shows that gendered ideology continued to preserve power and material inequalities between men and women. Although considerable change did occur, particularly involvement in the paid labour market, domestic responsibilities continued to be an important focus of women’s identities and the effective performance of these duties by women remained central to the success of the household. This thesis represents a fresh focus on how the exploration of everyday life, including the salience of ideological continuities in shaping experience, can qualify and refine our understanding of twentieth century economic and social change, and contributes to socio-historical understandings of ‘affluence’ and its intersections with the household, gender, and class.

The line of research developed in this thesis is not new, however, presents some peculiarities about the democratic management in Brazilian education, specifically in Belem, which are at least a contribution to society. Mainly because it shows succinctly in the first and second chapters the history and socio-historical political-pedagogical democratic management in Brazil since the mid-sixteenth century through implementation of the LDB 9394/96. ln the third chapter dealing with respect to the Laws of Directives and Bases of National Education, 5692/71 and 9394/96 LDB, the latter aimed to break with the remnants left over from 5692/71, it is worth stressing that the first state to implement the laws Guidelines and Bases, sitting in the Law 9394/96, was the Para The fourth and fifth chapters highlight the Methodology applied to field research, the analysis of data collected and measured and construct a triangulation and I or intersection (Theory-Praxis-Theory resulting praxis), between theory researched and analyzed with the references and the data collected in the field about the ways and possibilities necessary to articulate the democratic management at the education system in the municipality of Belém. To construct this path resorted to reading literature by authors who have explored the subject as: Jose Julio Chiavenato, Luiz Fernando Dourado, Paulo Freire, Moacir Gadotti, Carlos Libâneo John Monlevade, Paro Vítor, Michel Thiollent, Sofia Lerche Vieira and others who contributed to the theoretical and practical construction andare cited in the reference. Regarding the field research, it was carried a survey and a preliminary presentation of the theme to the school principal and to the School Board president, then were made contacts with professionals in education, through informal conversations about the subject. After this procedure were applied questionnaires with twenty-six objective questions and two subjective questions that are exposed in the appendix of this thesis. Other mechanisms used in field research were interviews in locus with some professionals of the surveyed. It was also used participant observation with the bias in the socio-historical approach. The field research and the references link ed to the participant observation in daily school community. were essential for the consolidation of this dissertational work involving a theme, which certainly, is in vogue in the Brazilian education and That served as the basis for this title dissertation: Management democratic ways and possibilities: A in a public elementary school case study in Belém. This dissertation Thesis presents in Its fifth chapter the basic tripod for scientific analysis related to the democratic management which are: Direct election for the School Board, direct election for chief articulator/social, for students union, this last one under the direction of the students. The basis of this tripod must be seated in the qualitative participation of all categories of the school community, preserving and respecting the autonomy of each on and demonstrates the approach and the contribution of the externa! community to the process of teaching and learning. At finally, but not less important propose some suggestions that are exposed on the conclusion and clearly demonstrate the need to implement some ways to be followed and implemented so that actually and by law the participatory democratic management, may be conducted according to Ulrich the concepts of this dissertation, are directly related to education, participation, and autonomy. However, this requires some adjustments in the Law 7.722/94, in its resolution 036/2008, and indeed the knowledge mastery of the Law 9394/96.

ABSTRACT: This article is based on the contributions of discourse analysis from French orientation, which combines the linguistic aspect to the socio-historical, it understands, therefore, that the speech is the place of ideological manifestations (ORLANDI, 1984) and can not be dissociated from its production condition, that is, of all his surroundings and constituent: who, when, where. Starting with four announcement on runaway slaves and two missing pets, published in the Journal: Dezenove de Dezembro, in circulation in the State of Paraná, in the nineteenth century, we analyze the position of the press at the time to refer to the runaway slave. The appreciation of the words used by the enunciator has revealed that he had the intention to highlight the condition of "object" of the black slave, limiting his identity to their physical particulars, referring to aspects found in the missing pets announcements. Thereby, we find, in these analyzed announcements, which the formation of the subject slave in the Paraná society of the nineteenth century is subjected, and it can not be disconnected of ideological and historical instances.

As with societies, history and culture, language also evolves, a process which is inherent to it. The Portuguese of Brazil has its own characteristics due to the influence of Indian, African peoples and others who have lived here. This study researched 19th century handwritten letters for the origins of Brazilian Portuguese. The corpus consists of three personal letters collected by the Museu do Tropeiro in Castro. Two of them were written by the Baroness of Guaraúna and one by the Empress Thereza de Bourbon. This textual genre is Revista Línguas & Letras ISSN: 1517-7238 Vol. 13 nº 24 1º Sem. 2012 a valuable source for socio-historical studies because it brings, through the linguistic register, an immeasurable cultural and intellectual legacy. Studying the educated Portuguese Brazilian language, used informally between 1880 and 1893, one is able to notice syntactic phenomena, which are found in forms of treatment and spelling diversity characteristic of the century in which they were written. Our focus was not to exhaust all the possibilities of analysis and observation on the origin of this entire legacy but to contribute towards the studies of the history of Brazilian Portuguese, and in particular, the one from the state of Paraná.

This article intends to revisit the issue of national genesis of grammar, from the analysis of a corpus of five unpublished documents that was writing in the region of Diamantina (MG) in the second half of the eighteenth century. The data analyzed here according to the assumptions sociolinguistic endorse the hypothesis that destabilization of pronominal framework and the consequent weakening of the agreement of the Portuguese system were already established in this region in the late eighteenth century. From this result, we speculate about the socio-historical role of the Minas Gerais region in implementing linguistic changes determinants for the establishment of a national grammar.

Working with comic strips in the classroom for teaching languages requires scientific knowledge which are able to subsidize the understanding of the language as a socio-historical nature, constituted in interactive and discursive entanglements socially conveyed. For that, we aim in this paper, to present the speech genre comic strip in order to analyze it from the Sociological Method proposed by Bakhtin, which points out the thematic content, the compositional construction and style as elements for the study of language. To theoretically support our study, as well as Bakhtin (1998, 2000) and Bakhtin / Voloshinov (2004), we will discuss authors such Brait (2013); Silveira, Rohling and Rodrigues (2012), among others.

This paper presents some discussions on the theoretical and methodological principles of the studies on language variation. The reflections take the socio-historical context as an element that affects the performance of speech time and space. Language, more specifically its realization in speech, is taken as belonging to the social order, i.e., as an element that relates to the way of life of individuals, groups and societies, which, through social networks and their entanglements, depict the dynamic and complex set of social relations. Registered in its most alive realization, speech is the axis to which converge multiple connections and different levels of society. This dynamic relationship between language and society, according to the studies of Sociolinguistics and Dialectology, provides the elements for examining the phenomena manifested in speech. The theoretical and methodological approach delineated in this paper does not exhaust the principles that underpin the studies on variation, but it congregates some reflections on the conditions in which the language description can provide elements for a review of the behavior of speakers given the history and culture of the community.

This article aims to analyze how the black child is characterized in relation to the stereotypes created around the black, in the course of Brazilian history in children's narratives, from a sociological approach to the literary text and the assumptions of comparative literature. To this end, we selected some childish narratives that feature characters black children, and you can see that these works reveal the transformations that occurred in Brazilian society with regard to black. This work is based on the theoretical support in the works of Rosangela Malachias and Florestan Fernandes, among others. The analysis was organized to observe the difficulties of identifying the black child before the European cultural dictates about the standard model of beauty. In general, one can observe that the production of works whose characters are black children intensified after the 1988 Constitution and the Law 10.639/2003. The literary discourse aimed at children, so undergoes changes before changes in society and shows a new socio-historical context in which minorities gain more space, but respect for differences yet to occur effectively in social relations that the black is really valued.

Crucial to enhancing the status and quality of games teaching in schools is a developed understanding of the teaching strategies adopted by practitioners. In this paper, we will demonstrate that contemporary games‟ teaching is a product of individual, task and environmental constraints (Newell, 1986). More specifically, we will show that current pedagogy in the U.K., Australia and the United States is strongly influenced by historical, socio-cultural environmental and political constraints. In summary, we will aim to answer the question „why do teachers teach games the way they do.‟ In answering this question, we conclude that teacher educators, who are trying to influence pedagogical practice, must understand these potential constraints and provide appropriate pre-service experiences to give future physical education teachers the knowledge, confidence and ability to adopt a range of teaching styles when they become fully fledged teachers. Essential to this process is the need to enable future practitioners to base their pedagogical practice on a sound understanding of contemporary learning theories of skill acquisition.

The historiographical paper presented is about the students’ activism and participation in the Latin American psychology. This aims are: 1) to provide a brief historic overview of the Latin American psychology; 2) to review on the students’ participation in the Latin American psychology; 3) to raise students’ future perspectives for the Latin American psychology. It is recognized that there is an extensive past of Latin American psychology and an emerging historiographical work that re fl ects that past. However, there are several historiographical gaps not covered yet by the investigations in the region. In this context, this paper wants to contribute to the study of the students’ activism and participation in the Latin American psychology construction. The historical perspective is supported by the renewed historiographical conception called instant history” which focuses on ancient and recent history at the same time. Indirect sources were used: articles, monographs and compiled editions.

The psychology of motivation has a long tradition and history in psychology. In fact, we consider that, to a certain extent, understanding the history of the psychology of motivation is understanding great part of which has been psychology itself, since the main target of psychology was, and is, to try to explain behaviour, and the aim of psychology of motivation is to find out the causes of behaviour. In its long passage to the present time, there have been three perspectives that have monopolized most of the investigation: the biological, the behavioural and the cognitive. They are not excluding. Each one of them has been predominant in certain stages, although the same attention was paid to the other two. Nowadays, the biological and cognitive perspectives are those that receive greater attention from the investigators. The historical direction in the study of the psychology of motivation represents an important solution to know how the events that have given rise to the present consideration about the psychology of motivation were forged. To know the past helps us to understand the present, at the same time it allows us to hypothesise with great probability of success which will be the future in the study object.

Since 1900, the Yoruba people of South-western Nigeria have put its ethnic history at work in the construction of its identity in Nigeria. The exercise resulted in the creation of ethno-nationalist movements and the practice of ethnic politics, often expressed through violent attacks on the Nigerian State and some ethnic groups in Nigeria. Relying on mythological attachment to its traditions and subjective creation of cultural pride, the people created a sense of history that established a common interest among different Yoruba sub-groups in form of pan-Yoruba interest which forms the basis for the people’s imagination of nation. Through this, historical consciousness and socio-political space in which Yoruba people are located acted as instrumental forces employed by Yoruba political elites, both at colonial and post-colonial periods to demand for increasing access to political and economic resources in Nigeria. In form of nationalism, nationalist movements and ethnic politics continued in South-western Nigeria since 1900, yet without resulting to actual creation of an independent Yoruba State up to 2009. Through ethnographic data, the part played by history, tradition and modernity is examined in this paper. While it is concluded that ethno-nationalist movement and ethnic politics in Yoruba society are constructive agenda dated back to pre-colonial period, it continues to transform both in structure and function. Thus, Yoruba ethno-nationalist movement and ethnic politics is ambiguous, dynamic and complex, to the extent that it remains a challenge to State actions in Nigeria.
