Eine der offenen Fragen der aktuellen Physik ist das Verständnis von Systemen im Nichtgleichgewicht. Im Gegensatz zu der Gleichgewichtsphysik ist in diesem Bereich aktuell kein Formalismus bekannt der ein systematisches Beschreiben der unterschiedlichen Systeme ermöglicht. Um das Verständnis über diese Systeme zu vergrößern werden in dieser Arbeit zwei unterschiedliche Systeme studiert, die unter einem externen Feld ein starkes nichtlineares Verhalten zeigen. Hierbei handelt es sich zum einen um das Verhalten von Teilchen unter dem Einfluss einer extern angelegten Kraft und zum anderen um das Verhalten eines Systems in der Nähe des kritischen Punktes unter Scherung. Das Modellsystem in dem ersten Teil der Arbeit ist eine binäre Yukawa Mischung, die bei tiefen Temperaturen einen Glassübergang zeigt. Dies führt zu einer stark ansteigenden Relaxationszeit des Systems, so dass man auch bei kleinen Kräften relativ schnell ein nichtlineares Verhalten beobachtet. In Abhängigkeit der angelegten konstanten Kraft können in dieser Arbeit drei Regime, mit stark unterschiedlichem Teilchenverhalten, identifiziert werden. In dem zweiten Teil der Arbeit wird das Ising-Modell unter Scherung betrachtet. In der Nähe des kritischen Punkts kommt es in diesem Modell zu einer Beeinflussung der Fluktuationen in dem System durch das angelegte Scherfeld. Dies hat zur Folge, dass das System stark anisotrop wird und man zwei unterschiedliche Korrelationslängen vorfindet, die mit unterschiedlichen Exponenten divergieren. Infolgedessen lässt sich der normale isotrope Formalismus des "finite-size scaling" nicht mehr auf dieses System anwenden. In dieser Arbeit wird gezeigt, wie dieser auf den anisotropen Fall zu verallgemeinern ist und wie damit die kritischen Punkte, sowie die dazu gehörenden kritischen Exponenten berechnet werden können.

The spectacular advances computer science applied to geographic information systems (GIS) in recent times has favored the emergence of several technological solutions. These developments have given rise to enormous opportunities for digital management of the territory. Among the technological solutions, the most famous Google Maps offers free online mapping dynamic exhaustive of the Maps. In addition to meet the enormous needs of urban indicators geotagged information, we did work on this project “Integration of an urban observatory on Google Maps.” The problem of geolocation in the urban observatory is particularly relevant in the sense that there is currently no data (descriptive and geographical) reliable on the urban sector; we must stick to extrapolate from data old and obsolete. This helps to curb the effectiveness of urban management to make difficult investment programming and to prevent the acquisition of knowledge to make cities engines of growth. The use of a geolocation tool coupled to the data would allow better monitoring of indicators Our project's objective is to develop an interactive map server (WebMapping) which map layer is formed from the resources of the Google Maps servers and match information from the field to produce maps of urban equipment and infrastructure of a city data to the client's request To achieve this goal, we will participate in a study of a GPS location of strategic sites in our core sector (health facilities), on the other hand, using information from the field, we will build a postgresql database that will link the information from the field to map from Google Maps via KML scripts and PHP appropriate. We will limit ourselves in our work to the city of Douala Cameroon with the sectors of health facilities with the possibility of extension to other areas and other cities. We define an applicative theory of truth TPT which proves totality exactly for the polynomial time computable functions. TPT has natural and simple axioms since nearly all its truth axioms are standard for truth theories over an applicative framework. The only exception is the axiom dealing with the word predicate. The truth predicate can only reflect elementhood in the words for terms that have smaller length than a given word. This makes it possible to achieve the very low proof-theoretic strength. Truth induction can be allowed without any constraints. For these reasons the system TPT has the high expressive power one expects from truth theories. It allows embeddings of feasible systems of explicit mathematics and bounded arithmetic. The proof that the theory TPT is feasible is not easy. It is not possible to apply a standard realisation approach. For this reason we develop a new realisation approach whose realisation functions work on directed acyclic graphs. In this way, we can express and manipulate realisation information more efficiently.

In this work, electrophoretic preconcentration of protein and peptide samples in microchannels was studied theoretically using the 1D dynamic simulator GENTRANS, and experimentally combined with MS. In all configurations studied, the sample was uniformly distributed throughout the channel before power application, and driving electrodes were used as microchannel ends. In the first part, previously obtained experimental results from carrier-free systems are compared to simulation results, and the effects of atmospheric carbon dioxide and impurities in the sample solution are examined. Simulation provided insight into the dynamics of the transport of all components under the applied electric field and revealed the formation of a pure water zone in the channel center. In the second part, the use of an IEF procedure with simple well defined amphoteric carrier components, i.e. amino acids, for concentration and fractionation of peptides was investigated. By performing simulations a qualitative description of the analyte behavior in this system was obtained. Neurotensin and [Glu1]-Fibrinopeptide B were separated by IEF in microchannels featuring a liquid lid for simple sample handling and placement of the driving electrodes. Component distributions in the channel were detected using MALDI- and nano-ESI-MS and data were in agreement with those obtained by simulation. Dynamic simulations are demonstrated to represent an effective tool to investigate the electrophoretic behavior of all components in the microchannel.

In this paper we propose a new benchmark to drive making decisions in maintenance of computer systems. This benchmark is made from load average sample data. The main goal is to improve reliability and performance of a set of devices or components. In particular, the stability of the system is measured in terms of variability of the load. A forecast of the behavior of this stability is also proposal as part of the reporting benchmark. At the final stage, a more stable system is obtained and its global reliability and performance can be then evaluated by means of appropriate specifications.

We describe the hardwired implementation of algorithms for Monte Carlo simulations of a large class of spin models. We have implemented these algorithms as VHDL codes and we have mapped them onto a dedicated processor based on a large FPGA device. The measured performance on one such processor is comparable to O(100) carefully programmed high-end PCs: it turns out to be even better for some selected spin models. We describe here codes that we are currently executing on the IANUS massively parallel FPGA-based system.

In this paper we describe an hybrid algorithm for an even number of processors based on an algorithm for two processors and the Overlapping Partition Method for tridiagonal systems. Moreover, we compare this hybrid method with the Partition Wang’s method in a BSP computer. Finally, we compare the theoretical computation cost of both methods for a Cray T3D computer, using the cost model that BSP model provides.

The current trend in the evolution of sensor systems seeks ways to provide more accuracy and resolution, while at the same time decreasing the size and power consumption. The use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) provides specific reprogrammable hardware technology that can be properly exploited to obtain a reconfigurable sensor system. This adaptation capability enables the implementation of complex applications using the partial reconfigurability at a very low-power consumption. For highly demanding tasks FPGAs have been favored due to the high efficiency provided by their architectural flexibility (parallelism, on-chip memory, etc.), reconfigurability and superb performance in the development of algorithms. FPGAs have improved the performance of sensor systems and have triggered a clear increase in their use in new fields of application. A new generation of smarter, reconfigurable and lower power consumption sensors is being developed in Spain based on FPGAs. In this paper, a review of these developments is presented, describing as well the FPGA technologies employed by the different research groups and providing an overview of future research within this field.
