Sequenzen architektonischer Aneignung

Jeder architektonischen Transformation geht die Konstruktion einer Wahrheit voraus. Was man in einem Bauwerk sieht oder sehen will, beeinflusst dessen Nutzung und dessen potentiellen Umbau. Der Artikel resümmiert verschiedene Ansätze einer Architekturtheorie des Bauens im Bestand und zeigt anhand der Geschichte des Kolosseums als Martyriumsort eine solche Interpretationskonjunktur eines Bauwerks, die letztlich zu dessen Umbau führen kann. Dabei lässt sich eine Sequenz von Reinterpretation und Überschreibung, Prägung, Bespielung, Neuorientierung und Schließung sowie zuletzt architektonischer Formalisierung und Monumentalisierung ausmachen.

First stars XIV. Sulfur abundances in extremely metal-poor stars

Context. Precise S abundances are important in the study of the early chemical evolution of the Galaxy. In particular the site of the formation remains uncertain because, at low metallicity, the trend of this alpha-element versus [Fe/H] remains unclear. Moreover, although sulfur is not bound significantly in dust grains in the ISM, it seems to behave differently in DLAs and old metal-poor stars. Aims. We attempt a precise measurement of the S abundance in a sample of extremely metal-poor stars observed with the ESO VLT equipped with UVES, taking into account NLTE and 3D effects. Methods. The NLTE profiles of the lines of multiplet 1 of S I were computed with a version of the program MULTI, including opacity sources from ATLAS9 and based on a new model atom for S. These profiles were fitted to the observed spectra. Results. We find that sulfur in EMP stars behaves like the other alpha-elements, with [S/Fe] remaining approximately constant below [Fe/H] = -3. However, [S/Mg] seems to decrease slightly with increasing [Mg/H]. The overall abundance patterns of O, Na, Mg, Al, S, and K are most closely matched by the SN model yields by Heger & Woosley. The [S/Zn] ratio in EMP stars is solar, as also found in DLAs. We derive an upper limit to the sulfur abundance [S/Fe] < +0.5 for the ultra metal-poor star CS 22949-037. This, along with a previously reported measurement of zinc, argues against the conjecture that the light-element abundance pattern of this star (and by analogy, the hyper iron-poor stars HE 0107-5240 and HE 1327-2326) would be due to dust depletion.

Transiting exoplanets from the CoRoT space mission XIV. CoRoT-11b: a transiting massive ""hot-Jupiter"" in a prograde orbit around a rapidly rotating F-type star

The CoRoT exoplanet science team announces the discovery of CoRoT-11b, a fairly massive hot-Jupiter transiting a V = 12.9 mag F6 dwarf star (M(*) = 1.27 +/- 0.05 M(circle dot), R(*) = 1.37 +/- 0.03 R(circle dot), T(eff) = 6440 +/- 120 K), with an orbital period of P = 2.994329 +/- 0.000011 days and semi-major axis a = 0.0436 +/- 0.005 AU. The detection of part of the radial velocity anomaly caused by the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect shows that the transit-like events detected by CoRoT are caused by a planet-sized transiting object in a prograde orbit. The relatively high projected rotational velocity of the star (upsilon sin i(star) = 40 +/- 5 km s(-1)) places CoRoT-11 among the most rapidly rotating planet host stars discovered so far. With a planetary mass of M(p) = 2.33 +/- 0.34 M(Jup) and radius R(p) = 1.43 +/- 0.03 R(Jup), the resulting mean density of CoRoT-11b (rho(p) = 0.99 +/- 0.15 g/cm(3)) can be explained with a model for an inflated hydrogen-planet with a solar composition and a high level of energy dissipation in its interior.

Aspectos ecológicos da tripanossomíase americana: XIV - Persistência e potencial de domiciliação de populações triatomínicas silvestres em região de intensa atividade agropecuária

São apresentados os resultados de observações sobre populações triatomínicas extradomiciliares em região de intensa atividade agropecuária. Os restos de vegetação primitiva, embora reduzidos a menos de 8,0%, mostraram-se suficientes para manter essas populações. Pelo menos para Triatoma sordida, a destruição progressiva parece favorecer sua sobrevivência, graças à multiplicação de ecótopos preferidos por esse triatomíneo. Tanto essa espécie como Panstrongylus megistus e Rhodnius neglectus mostraram-se aptos à colonização em ecótopos artificiais representados por galinheiros experimentais.

Posturas municipais portuguesas (séculos XIV-XVIII)

Numa cronologia alargada (séculos XIV-XVIII), este volume reúne vários estudos sobre posturas municipais e edita um dos principais testemunhos deste tipo de fontes históricas existente na Península Ibérica, o Livro de posturas antigas de Évora, composto no século XV.

Vilancicos portugueses do século XIV ao XVIII

A primeira intenção deste artigo é avivar o conhecimento do vilancico, género poético-musical que permaneceu, durante quase dois séculos, no esquecimento da História da Música nacional. Canção genuinamente peninsular, o vilancico português foi mesmo o género mais profusamente conhecido e executado em Portugal, nos séculos XV ao XVIII, e que teve enorme aceitação na Igreja, na corte, na nobreza e no povo. Apesar de pouco conhecido, o vilancico, que começou popular e profano, assumiu-se depois sacro- profano ao entrar nos templos e acabou por ser religioso e imprescindível nos serviços litúrgicos do Ofício e da Missa. Foi motivação para que as igrejas se enchessem de devotos, que procuravam nele o fortalecimento da Fé; de não devotos, que corriam aos templos para os ouvir e ver a espectacularidade com que eram cantados e representados. Esteve presente nos serões e festas comemorativas dos palácios da corte e dos fidalgos. Os dramaturgos, de então, deram-lhe grande relevo ao inclui-lo nas suas peças teatrais. É justo, por isso, que se dê ao vilancico a atenção que merece para que, cada vez mais, seja conhecido e executado. Este é o principal objectivo deste artigo.
