The search for international impact and the need to create formal or informal networks of academic cooperation are some of the most common features of the current training offered by many universities. Aware of this difficulty and the desirability of creating synergies to enrich teaching and academic collaboration networks between universities, an experience is presented, in the context of the teaching of Information and Documentation, of inter-university collaboration for the joint design of learning activities and skills assessment, developed by teachers in the public universities of Zaragoza and Salamanca (Spain) and the São Paulo Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (São Paulo, Brazil). The experience is developed using models that facilitate the structuring of learning activities aimed at the acquisition of common skills. Each activity that is proposed and developed is recorded in a spreadsheet which collects the information arranged in various fields such as: description, skills, objectives, expected learning outcomes, tools, required resources and materials, evaluation criteria, amongst others, so that the student can see what he is asked to do, how to do it and how useful it will be. This way of designing skills-based learning activities is possible, in geographically diverse academic settings through the use of Information Technology and Communication, enabling both remote cooperation between teachers and also materials offered on the platforms of each of the universities.

[EN]In the framework of the European Higher Education Area, the assessment has been one of the most important aspects considered. In the Spanish Universities, one of the main differences with regard to the previous system is the incorporation of the continuous assessment to the evaluation process that is understood in several ways depending on the Universities, the courses and the lecturers. Focus on our context, a course of Mathematics of the first academic year in the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), the continuous assessment has brought the preparation of a large amount of different tests to evaluate the students enrolled in it, therefore the incorporation of new tools and skills in order to make the teaching–learning process easier and more dynamic has become a need mainly in those degrees with a large number of students as the case we consider here. In this work we provide an efficient and effective way to elaborate random multiple-choice examina tion tests (although essay exams are also possible) by using Mathematica package and LATEXin order to make easier to the lectures the preparation of a large number of mid-term tests for a large number of students.

In the 2009-10 year ten new degrees have begun to be taught at the UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), which is the first group of degrees that this University will offer within the framework of the EHEA (European Higher Education Area). One of these is the Building Engineering Degree, which was implemented in September 2009 in the EUATM (Escuela de Arquitectura Técnica de Madrid). It is heir to the former 'Arquitecto Técnico' degree that will become extinct as the new degree is successively implemented. This paper unveils the strategy that the EUATM management staff has designed and is developing, so that the complex process that involves the incorporation of our School into the model of 'Bologna', takes place smoothly and with guaranteed success

The European Union has been promoting linguistic diversity for many years as one of its main educational goals. This is an element that facilitates student mobility and student exchanges between different universities and countries and enriches the education of young undergraduates. In particular, a higher degree of competence in the English language is becoming essential for engineers, architects and researchers in general, as English has become the lingua franca that opens up horizons to internationalisation and the transfer of knowledge in today’s world. Many experts point to the Integrated Approach to Contents and Foreign Languages System as being an option that has certain benefits over the traditional method of teaching a second language that is exclusively based on specific subjects. This system advocates teaching the different subjects in the syllabus in a language other than one’s mother tongue, without prioritising knowledge of the language over the subject. This was the idea that in the 2009/10 academic year gave rise to the Second Language Integration Programme (SLI Programme) at the Escuela Arquitectura Técnica in the Universidad Politécnica Madrid (EUATM-UPM), just at the beginning of the tuition of the new Building Engineering Degree, which had been adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) model. This programme is an interdisciplinary initiative for the set of subjects taught during the semester and is coordinated through the Assistant Director Office for Educational Innovation. The SLI Programme has a dual goal; to familiarise students with the specific English terminology of the subject being taught, and at the same time improve their communication skills in English. A total of thirty lecturers are taking part in the teaching of eleven first year subjects and twelve in the second year, with around 120 students who have voluntarily enrolled in a special group in each semester. During the 2010/2011 academic year the degree of acceptance and the results of the SLI Programme have been monitored. Tools have been designed to aid interdisciplinary coordination and to analyse satisfaction, such as coordination records and surveys. The results currently available refer to the first and second year and are divided into specific aspects of the different subjects involved and into general aspects of the ongoing experience.

With the introduction of the European Higher Education Area and the development of the "Bologna" method in learning certain technological subjects, a pilot assessment procedure was launched in the "old" plan to observe, monitor and analyze the acquiring knowledge of senior students in various academic courses. This paper is a reflection on culture and knowledge. Will students accommodate to get a lower score on tests because they know they have a lot of tooltips to achieve their objectives?. Are their skills lower for these reason?.
