The main objective of this paper is to realize a review of literature about use of Interactive Digital Whiteboard, as a tool for improving the quality of education. We intend to show some results already reported in several studies in this area, and thus contribute to the systematization of knowledge about this resource. We found that the positive impacts of digital interactive whiteboards are specific and depend on the model followed in its implementation. Although the literature on this technology still emerging, there is evidences of good practice and positive results in all areas of the curriculum. The outcome of this research shows that to get potential benefits of digital whiteboard will be necessary, at first, to understand the process implementation and appropriation. Departing from Ariovaldo Vidal’s statement, in his foreword to the Brazilian translation of The Castle of Otranto, that the Gothic sources were spread upon literary and social history waiting for someone (Horace Walpole) to collect them in order to create a new literary genre, and connecting imagination to such statement, my purpose in this paper is to make some notes on what would possibly be these sources referred by Vidal. By the means of thinking on the Darkness as a semi-concept, a perspective largely inspired in Fred Botting’s Gothic (2014), I intend to look for the origins of Gothic fiction in texts by Homer, Virgil, Dante, and Milton.

The present text intents to explore how the observation and the annotation of cultural practices of a nation can have a decisive role in the image construction of its literature and how this image can be decisive for the perception of the texts written about the target nation. To exemplify this idea, some important topics for the construction of the image of Brazil and for the text written about this country in Germany are taken under consideration.

Plato’s philosophy and the Aristotle’s poetics have settled the postulates for a theoretical thought on the production process and the reading of fiction. The specialization of the knowledge areas into disciplines has provided multiple readings for the literary. A tension among literary and social theories goes through the horizon of reading from the literary and immediate reality, and today presents itself as literature production and reading guiding possibilities.

The present article considers the configuration of poetic features of a song in the context of the so called Brazilian Popular Music. The inicial discussion draws general and theoretical considerations about the relations between literature and music and deepens the analysis on the nature of the song as a manifestation of a consciousness of the historical memory as a metaphysical and aesthetical transcendence. The ludic element is then considered as an important element of the poetic features of songs in the 60‟s and nowadays.

The aim of this research is to analyze the extension of changes in technological strategies of a group of Brazilian pharmaceutical companies, which we believe were induced by transformations in the institutional environment during the 1990s. Major institutional changes, such as the enacting of laws that recognized drug patents rights and fostered generic drugs market, have strengthened the market insertion and competitive position of these companies, what would enable an increase in research and development efforts in Brazil. In addition to the literature on technology strategy and drug industry, this study was based on interviews with six Brazilian pharmaceutical companies, all of which were ranked among the top national companies in the industry and have been considered in previous studies particularly active in the process of changing technological strategies. This research confirmed a significant intensification of technology efforts carried out by Brazilian drug companies. Nevertheless, the R&D intensity is still far below the global pattern and innovative impacts are slight.
