Varios libros, muchos artículos en revistas académicas y en la prensa popular han analizado dicho éxito. ¿Cuáles son algunas de las características demográficas de Finlandia y cómo se comparan con los países del Caribe? ¿Cuáles son algunos de los aspectos principales del éxito de Finlandia? ¿Cómo se comparan con los países del Caribe? ¿Qué debemos aprender de la experiencia de Finlandia?

Una preocupación constante del sector educativo es la calidad de la educación que se oferta en nuestros países, las organizaciones internacionales han instrumentado mecanismos (Pisa, TIMSS, Excale, Enlace) para medir el logro académico en los niveles educativos básicos de los países agremiados, en general los resultados de estas pruebas, establecen que en el área de las matemáticas el alumnado de escuelas públicas de la educación secundaria en México tiene en promedio resultados que les ubican en los niveles de logro insuficiente y elemental. Estos resultados indican carencias graves en esta asignatura, que se enfatizan aún más cuando se analizan los resultados que obtienen las mujeres. Este trabajo forma parte de una investigación más amplia que tuvo como propósito profundizar en los factores que inciden en el nivel de logro matemático que tienen las y los estudiantes de 3° grado de secundaria.

El propósito de este curso es el de compartir algunas reflexiones relacionadas con la estrategia metodológica de resolución de problemas matemáticos, revisar las ideas de Polya (1990), Schoenfeld (1985), del informe PISA, de la NCTM y especialmente el enfoque “Open Ended” (Becker y Shimada, 2005) utilizado por los japoneses en el aula. También se describen aspectos históricos de la utilización de tecnologías digitales en el proceso de resolución de problemas, principalmente las estrategias utilizadas por investigadores en inteligencia artificial.

El desarrollo de las habilidades para un conocimiento estadístico necesario es posible desarrollarlo y fortalecerlo por medio de variados recursos didácticos dispuestos para la enseñanza y aprendizaje. Dentro de los recursos disponibles es el texto de matemática el más utilizado por profesores y estudiantes. El texto debe entregar herramientas que permita a los estudiantes desarrollar una alfabetización matemática, realizando una focalización más explícita en los conocimientos, comprensión y habilidades requeridas para funcionar efectivamente en la vida diaria (PISA Chile, 2009).

Fictitious personal names and toponyms are not infrequent in legal casenotes as used for didactic purposes nowadays. There is a long tradition of fictitious names being used in the legal literature. The problem with medieval or early modern legal (here, rabbinical) responsa is that if they are used as evidence for historical purposes, as though they were chronicles, confusion may occurs. Historian Eliezer Bashan showed that this is the case, indeed, with particular reference to rabbinical responsa from the Ottoman empire where Holy Land toponyms occur. He set forth several tentative rules to decide whether a toponym is there to literally refer to the place it names, or whether, instead, the name is used fictitiously. This paper formalizes the ruleset.

Research This paper outlines some of the key findings from an evaluation of the project and demonstrates that EC funded projects such as this, which seek to promote cross border collaboration and understanding (i.e. across organisational, sectoral and geographical boundaries) offer considerable learning potential – not least about variances in health politics across different communities. However, for this learning to be realised a comprehensive system of knowledge management needs to be an integral part of project planning alongside a system for sustaining embryonic professional networks. The concept of managing relationships was also a key part of the projects success. Executing a project funded by the EU demands the development of complex organisational skills to negotiate all the administrative challenges en route to successful completion and this project in particular relied for its success on the development of social relationships of trust and mutual respect across national, professional and social boundaries. Context A three–year European Commission funded project designed to exchange a wide range of staff (professional semiprofessional and voluntary staff in health and social care) project led by the University of Greenwich (UK) and the Université Catholique de Lille, France was completed this year (February 2008). The project was complex because it involved working in different national contexts, was multi-disciplinary, and demanded the negotiation of multiple boundaries. Theories A mixed method evaluation including written reports gathered immediately after each exchange visit and a post hoc series of individual interviews and focus groups was conducted in order to gain qualitative information (from the participants perspective) on their experiences and to identify any learning gained. Results Analysis of the data provided evidence of learning on a number of levels; personally, inter and intra professionally and organisationally as well as across sectors and also from a project management perspective. The learning crystallised around the extent of the differences noted by the participants between the UK and the French health and social care systems despite geographical proximity, common membership of the EU and many shared challenges in health and social care. The extent of these differences, noted at every level from policy to practice proved a rich source for reflection on organisational philosophies, ways of working, distribution of resources, professional roles and autonomy and professional registration and mobility - in short on health politics at ‘macro’ and ‘micro’ levels.

Xanthoria parietina, common foliose lichen, growing in its natural habitat, was analysed for the concentration of five heavy metals (Fe, Cr, Zn, Pb and Cu) from different forest sites of North East of Morocco (Kenitra, Sidi Boughaba, Mkhinza, Ceinture Verte near Temara city, Skhirate, Bouznika and Mohammedia). The quantification was carried out by inductively coupled plasma - atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Results were highly significant p<0,001. The concentration of metals is correlated with the vehicular activity and urbanization. The total metal concentration is highest at the Kenitra area, followed by Ceinture Verte site near Temara city, which experience heavy traffic throughout the year. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of particulate matter on lichen of Xanthoria parietina was assessed as a complementary technique to wet chemical analysis for source apportionment of airborne contaminant. Analysis revealed high level of Cu, Cr, Zn and Pb in samples near roads.

The paper presents the description of one new order (Asplenietalia septentrionalo-cuneifolii) and two new alliances (Arenarion bertolonii and Physoplexido comosae- Saxifragion petraeae). In addition, the syntaxon Asplenietalia lanceolato-obovati is here formally raised to the order level and the name Hypno-Polypodietalia vulgaris is validated.

En el artículo se analizan las posibilidades que tiene el crowfunding (CF) para financiar el audiovisual. Se explica el modelo de financiación del CF y se indican las distintas ventajas que reporta para el promotor este modelo de financiación alternativa. Además se exponen ampliamente las principales características del proceso de CF seguido para financiar el cortometraje Juan y la nube (que se alzó con el Goya al Mejor corto de animación en el año 2015). Se comentan también los principales motivos que llevan a los mecenas a financiar los proyectos

This text presents an analysis of aggregated membership’s dynamics for Spanish trade unions, using ECVT data, as well as union memberships’ trajectories, or members’ decisions about joining the organization, permanency and responsibilities, and subsequent attrition. For the analysis of trajectories we make use of information of the records of actual memberships and the record of quitting of CCOO, and of a survey-questionnaire to a sample of leavers of the same union. This study allows us to confirm a linkage between the decision and motivations to become union member, to participate in union activities, the time of permanency, and the motives to quit the organization. We also identify five types of union members’ trajectories, indicating that, far from views that assert a monolithic structure, unions are complex organizations.
