Descriptive exploratory study, prospective with quantitative approach, performed on the Medical Regulation Central of SAMU/Natal, aiming to identify the level of professional satisfaction of the members of the nursing team working at SAMU/Natal; and verify the degree of importance attributed by the professionals to each of the components Professional Satisfaction: autonomy, interaction, professional status , work requirements, organizational rules and remuneration. The population was of 60 professionals, with data collected from january to february 2005. We used an instrument translated and validated by Lino (1999) to the portuguese language, the Professional Satisfaction Rate (PSR). The results demonstrate that there was a slight predominance of the female gender (54,9%); aged between 36 and 45 years old (60,8%); married (58,8%), 82,4% with children, 30,8% aged between 05 and 09. Regarding formation, we observed that 78,4% were nursing technicians and 21,6% nurses, formed for 11 to 15 years (17,5%). From the 11 nurses, 09 (81,8%) informed they have specialization, 29,4% of the team has been working for 11 to 15 years on the urgency area, 58.8% works for more than 02 years on SAMU, 72,6% of the team members have fixed work schedules. There was homogeneity on the work shifts: 41,2% on the day shift and 53% on the night shift. Regarding the reason to be working on SAMU, 64% chose to work in the service, and among these 76,3% predominantly perform direct care to the patients, 96,1% like and are satisfied to work in the service. Regarding the remuneration, 90,9% informed they receive 05 to 10 minimum wages; 70% of the technicians informed they receive -2 to 05 minumum wages, 50,1% informed they receive no additional benefit. The analysis of PSR through Cronbach s Alpha Coeficient resulted on the value of 0,94 and through Kendall s Tau Coeficient on 0,87, demonstrating to be a trustworthy instrument to measure the level of professional satisfaction of the SAMU nursing team, in our environment. As for the level of importance attributed to the components of professional satisfaction, we indentified that the nursing team considered the Autonomy component as the most important, followed by the component Remuneration, Interaction, Work Requirements, Work Requirements, Organizational Rules and Professional Status . Regarding the current level of professional satisfaction, we identified they were most satisfied with the Professional Status , Autonomy, Interaction, Remuneration, Work Requirements and Organizational Rules. The real professional satisfaction level, calculated through statistics, however, tells these professionals are more satisfied with Autonomy, Remuneration, Interaction, Work Requirements, professional Status and Organizational Rules. The PSR in our work was of 8,6, indicating the SAMU Natal nursing team has little satisfaction on their work environment

OBJETIVO: O presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar resultados de autoavaliações em termos de qualidade de vida (QV), saúde física (SF) e saúde mental (SM) realizadas por ex-alunos do curso de medicina de uma universidade pública brasileira, associando-se tais indicadores a dados demográficos e diversas dimensões da atuação profissional. MÉTODOS: estudo de corte transversal que teve como população-alvo todos os egressos da Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu (UNESP) no período de 1968 a 2005, utilizando-se um questionário autoaplicável, respondido por correio ou internet. RESULTADOS: Dos 2.864 questionários enviados, 1.224 (45%) foram respondidos. Tanto a QV como SF e SM foram avaliadas como boa ou muito boa por 67,8%, 78,8% e 84,5% dos participantes, respectivamente. Nos modelos finais de regressão logística, associaram-se a avaliação favorável de QV: ter boa SF e SM, frequentar congressos regulamente, ter tempo suficiente de lazer e estar satisfeito com a profissão. SF boa ou muito boa associou-se independentemente com QV e SM positivas, faixa de renda mais alta, prática regular de atividades físicas e nunca ter fumado. SM favorável permaneceu associada com satisfação profissional, tempo para lazer, e boa avaliação da QV e da SF. CONCLUSÕES: Entre os médicos egressos da UNESP, SF e SM foram aspectos indissociáveis e também relacionados à QV. Bons hábitos, como praticar atividades físicas, ter tempo para lazer e não fumar foram associados à melhor avaliação da saúde em geral e devem ser incentivados. A satisfação profissional teve um peso importante no bem-estar emocional relatado pelos participantes.

With the increasing competitiveness of organizations in search of customers, it is essential that the pursuit of quality becomes a prerequisite for the survival of healthcare organization, is necessary to have working conditions that encourage both personal and professional satisfaction. This study aims to investigate the perception of nurses regarding their satisfaction in the context of work in a State Hospital and contribute to the reflection on the internal customer satisfaction as an important indicator of quality of health services that interfere with quality of care. We used the qualitative method, on phenomenology, with nurses from a state hospital that had at least one year of experience in the institution. Through interviews, it was revealed that satisfaction is related to the literature and is influenced by factors such as human resources, practice nurses, Teamwork, Perception of the patient, professional recognition, physical and material resources and rewarding work, and these themes unfold quality and satisfaction both personally and for organizations

Introdução: Portugal enfrenta, actualmente, um período de mudanças profundas nos seus pilares sociais, económicos e organizacionais, sendo o sector da saúde um dois envoltos neste processo de mudança, o qual provoca, inevitavelmente, stress, emoções e ajustamentos de vária ordem. A avaliação da satisfação dos profissionais é assim um fator chave na mensuração dos efeitos destas alterações, daí que o objetivo deste estudo seja conhecer a satisfação profissional dos enfermeiros especialistas de Reabilitação, e seus determinantes de contexto pessoal, profissional e organizacional. Método: Realizou-se um estudo transversal, descritivo-correlacional, de natureza quantitativa, no qual participaram 141 Enfermeiros, Especialistas em Enfermagem de Reabilitação, em funções em instituições públicas e privadas na zona centro do País, na sua maioria do sexo feminino (58.87%) e com uma média de idades de 40.43 anos (Dp=7.49 anos). Para a mensuração das variáveis recorreu-se a uma ficha sociodemográfica e profissional, Escala de Avaliação da Satisfação no Trabalho (EASTEnf) e Escala de Empenhamento Atitudinal, ambas validadas para a população portuguesa. Resultados: Constatou-se que a maioria dos especialistas em Enfermagem de Reabilitação apresentam um nível regular de satisfação (70,92%). Os resultados obtidos evidenciam a existência de um efeito significativo das variáveis género, estado civil, experiência profissional, perfil de cuidados prestados, tipo de horário, vínculo laboral e local de trabalho, sobre o nível de satisfação dos enfermeiros. Na generalidade, são os enfermeiros do género feminino, casados, com menor experiência profissional, que prestam de cuidados especializados, que exercem funções em regime de horário fixo, que integram os quadros da instituição onde desempenham funções e que exercem a sua profissão no sector privado, aqueles que evidenciam, em algumas das dimensões da escala de avaliação da satisfação com o trabalho, níveis de satisfação profissional mais elevados. Por outro lado, constatou-se que são os enfermeiros que consideram as alterações decorrentes nos últimos dois anos benéficas para o cliente (Mean Rank= 90,04, p=0,001) a manifestar uma satisfação mais elevada; como também foi identificada uma relação estaticamente significativa (moderada e positiva) entre o empenhamento atitudinal e a satisfação dos enfermeiros (p=0,000). Conclusões: As evidências encontradas neste estudo convidam-nos a refletir sobre estratégias que possibilitem, em comunhão de esforços com o enfermeiro e organização, a obtenção de um melhor conhecimento dos determinantes da satisfação que potenciem uma intervenção com vista à sua promoção/melhoria. A presente investigação assentou na temática da Educação e Formação de Adultos, nomeadamente no processo de Reconhecimento, Validação e Certificação de Competências. Sob a configuração metodológica de um estudo de caso, teve como objeto de estudo o Centro Novas Oportunidades da Escola Secundária Gabriel Pereira. Neste trabalho de investigação procurou-se não só analisar os resultados em matéria de satisfação pessoal e profissional, decorrentes da realização de um processo de RVCC, manifestados pelos diferentes intervenientes (adultos certificados, famílias e entidades empregadoras de adultos certificados e equipa técnico-pedagógica) como também, compreender até que ponto a avaliação do processo permite consubstanciar esses mesmos resultados. Ao longo de toda a pesquisa foi definida uma estratégia metodológica que permitiu combinar uma variedade de métodos, incluindo técnicas de natureza quantitativa e qualitativa. Com o desenvolvimento desta investigação foi possível concluir que os resultados alcançados pelos adultos certificados são, do ponto de vista dos diferentes participantes, mais positivos no domínio da satisfação pessoal comparativamente à dimensão profissional, corroborando, aliás, outros estudos dirigidos à mesma problemática.

This study addresses the environmental quality in therapeutic spaces for children's rehabilitation. The assumption that space is active and interfere in interpersonal relationships, highlights the importance of natural light to the hospital architecture, to foster the creation of environments that encourage and assist in the recovery of patients in the rehabilitation process. Therefore, interferes with health humanization through positive actions in the physiological and emotional effects of natural light, as facilitators of the health recovery process. In Brazil hospital openings systems projects are built exclusively to follow requirements of the local construction code which do not consider the landscape, but only ventilation and heat stroke; and the luminance levels are treated just as recommendations for artificial lighting. The National Policy for Healthcare Humanization presents the environmental comfort as a priority. However, it does not guidelines for achieving it. In this context this research aims to evaluate the lighting comfort in infant therapeutic areas from the professional satisfaction, in order to identify human preferences on the variables: technical and constructive aspects, relationship with the exterior, internal visual interface and quality elements. With this purpose it was adopted as research strategy the Post-Occupancy Evaluation (Technical Functional) through a multi method approach, which included a case study in the rehabilitation gym of Children Rehabilitation Center, at Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, and a reference study at SARAH Rehabilitation Center, Fortaleza Unit at Ceará, both in Brazil northeast. The results indicate that the definition of openings systems should consider external and internal factors to the building, as the natural landscape, the immediate surroundings and activities to be performed. The POE found out the preference of the professional visual privacy in detriment to other analyzed aspects. Thus, it is expected that this study can contribute to the discussion of luminous quality and generate inputs for future projects or renovations in the Children's Rehabilitation Centers, which should not be projected as hospitals

Research on the relationship between reproductive work and women´s life trajectories including the experience of labour migration has mainly focused on the case of relatively young mothers who leave behind, or later re-join, their children. While it is true that most women migrate at a younger age, there are a significant number of cases of men and women who move abroad for labour purposes at a more advanced stage, undertaking a late-career migration. This is still an under-estimated and under-researched sub-field that uncovers a varied range of issues, including the global organization of reproductive work and the employment of migrant women as domestic workers late in their lives. By pooling the findings of two qualitative studies, this article focuses on Peruvian and Ukrainian women who seek employment in Spain and Italy when they are well into their forties, or older. A commonality the two groups of women share is that, independently of their level of education and professional experience, more often than not they end up as domestic and care workers. The article initially discusses the reasons for late-career female migration, taking into consideration the structural and personal determinants that have affected Peruvian and Ukrainian women’s careers in their countries of origin and settlement. After this, the focus is set on the characteristics of domestic employment at later life, on the impact on their current lives, including the transnational family organization, and on future labour and retirement prospects. Apart from an evaluation of objective working and living conditions, we discuss women’s personal impressions of being domestic workers in the context of their occupational experiences and family commitments. In this regard, women report varying levels of personal and professional satisfaction, as well as different patterns of continuity-discontinuity in their work and family lives, and of optimism towards the future. Divergences could be, to some extent, explained by the effect of migrants´ transnational social practices and policies of states.

Contexto: O estudo da Satisfação Profissional (SP) é um tema actual que tem despertado a atenção de vários investigadores. Sendo um tema bastante complexo, os investigadores têm procurado compreender as diversas determinantes da SP, considerando que só dessa forma os gestores das organizações estarão em condições de desenvolver estratégias que promovam o nível de satisfação dos seus colaboradores. Objetivos: Identificar quais os factores que contribuem para a SP da amostra. Método: O estudo teve por base uma bateria de três questionários, de administração direta, aplicados aos trabalhadores de duas fábricas da região centro. Para avaliar a SP recorreu-se ao “Job Discriptive Index” (JDI) adaptado à população portuguesa por Jesuíno, Sockza e Matoso (1983), e à Escala de Satisfação Organizacional, desenvolvida por Jorge Vala e colaboradores (1995). Para apurar as caraterísticas sociodemográficas da amostra fez-se uso ainda de um questionário construído pelos autores do estudo para o efeito. A amostra final é constituída por trabalhadores de duas empresas (N=52) - 24 da empresa “P” e 28 da empresa “B”, num total de 48 homens (92,3%) e 4 mulheres (7,7%), com prevalência de idades entre 31-40 anos (32,7%). O estudo teve a duração de dois semestres, e desenvolvido em quatro fases distintas: Fase conceptual, metodológica, Empírica e Reflexiva1. Resultados: Os resultados demonstram que a SP é mais influenciada por factores de ordem profissional e socioprofissionais, nomeadamente: relacionamento do trabalhador com a chefia, relacionamento do trabalhador com os colegas do mesmo nível, perspetivas de promoção, tempo de serviço e o tipo de vínculo contratual. Dos factores sociodemográficos, verificamos que a idade e o estado civil exercem influência moderada sobre a satisfação. Conclusão: Os resultados obtidos devem ser analisados como preliminares, passíveis de serem confirmados no futuro. Com este estudo foi possível concluir que a maioria dos trabalhadores das empresas em estudo (75%) se sente satisfeita, em oposição a 25% dos casos que afirma sentir-se insatisfeito em relação ao seu trabalho. / Context: The study of the Professional Satisfaction (PS) is an actual theme that has aroused the attention of different investigators. Being a complex theme, the investigators have trying to understand the diversity of PS determinants, considering that approach, the only way to the managers being able to develop strategies to elevate the satisfaction level of the collaborators. Goals: Identify what factors contributes to the PS of the sample Method: As support, the study had a group of three direct implementation questionnaires applied to the workers of two factories from the area. To evaluate the PS we resort to the “Job Descriptive Index” (JDI) adapted to the Portuguese Population by Jesuíno, Sockza and Matoso (1983) and to the Organizational Satisfaction Scale, developed by Jorge Vala and his collaborators (1995). To settle the socio demographic characteristics of the sample it was used another questionnaire elaborated by the authors of the study to achieve those characteristics. The final sample is constituted by workers of two factories (N=52), 24 of them from the factory “P” and the other ones (28) of the factory “B”, resulting in a total of 48 males (92,3%) and 4 females (7,7%) mostly with an age average between 31 and 40 years (32,7%) The study had the duration of two semesters and it was developed in four distinct phases, the first one, the conceptual phase, the second one, the methodological, the third one, the empirical and the last one, the reflexive phase. Results: The results show us that factors like professional order and socio professionals as the relations between employers and managers, between employers at the same level, promotional expectations, service time and the different types of contract have influences over the PS. Above the social demographic factors the study verifies that factors like age and marital status have a moderate influence above PS. Conclusion: The achieved results must be analyzed as preliminaries since they have to be confirmed in the future. With this study it was possible to conclude that the majority of the studied workers in the factories (75%) feel satisfied and the remaining 25% of the cases says unsatisfied in his relation to work.

This scenario requires a strategy development which advantages the Human Resources Quality Management. This way, the model of the Human System Audit (HSA), developed by the Spanish researchers Ouijano and Navarro, presents itself as an important tool to diagnosis and evaluation, contemplating the environment where the organization is inserted, its strategies, its organizational design, its processes and its organizational effectiveness. In this sense, the present study has identified the existent relation between the professional satisfaction and the Organizational Culture, based in the model HSA. The research has been a quantitative-descriptive one and has had as population the technical-administrative workers from the Federal Center of Technical Education of Rio Grande do Norte (CEFET RN). The data collection has occurred during May, 2008, by means of the application of a questionnaire in the HSA model. The sample was composed by 167 subjects, distributed among the Five units of the institution. It was used the factorial analysis, with the extraction method of main components and orthogonal rotation varimax, in order to extract the dimensions of the satisfaction and of the organizational culture and the calculation of Cronbach s Alpha coefficient, to evaluate the reliability of these dimensions. The factorial analysis of the satisfaction indicators has identified four factors,, all of them showing significance: gratefulness and relationship , self-realization , stability and security and physical conditions and social benefits . The result of the factorial analysis with the indicators of the organizational culture has extracted four factors and among them, three of them have obtained significance: Personal Satisfaction Style , Competitive-Denial-Power Style and the Conventional-Dependent Style . After identifying the dimensions of the satisfaction and culture found at CEFET-RN, it has been notice the existence or not of relation among them, through the application of Pearson s coefficient. It has been verified that all of the dimensions of the Professional satisfaction are correlated with some dimension of the organizational culture, having in outstand position, with higher intensity, the relation between the culture style of Personal Satisfaction and the satisfaction factor referring to the self-realization

O projeto realizou-se num contexto onde as organizações mantêm os funcionários conectados, motivados, e satisfeitos pessoal e profissionalmente, onde em companhia dos seus líderes, marcham em busca da tão desejada progressão organizacional, maximizando o lucro e minimizando os custos continuamente. Por este motivo, decidiu-se elaborar o projeto, cujo objetivo é avaliar/examinar duas variáveis, a Satisfação Laboral e o Compromisso Organizacional, destacando uma possível associação entre ambas. O universo em análise é a população da empresa angolana no sector da informação, empresa integrada no mercado angolano, cujo objeto de trabalho passa por recolher, tratar e distribuir a informação, nacional e internacionalmente. A mesma teve a amabilidade que disponibilizar os seus 172 colaboradores como amostra para fazer parte deste projeto. Para o estudo foram utilizadas metodologias quantitativas, aplicando-se dois questionários. O primeiro, de Warr, Cook e Wall referente a Satisfação Laboral, e o segundo, de Allen Meyer, refere-se ao Compromisso Organizacional, ambos previamente aprovados/certificados, e utilizados anteriormente com as referidas variáveis. Relativamente aos resultados, observou-se a existência de um impacto significativo entre a variável Satisfação Laboral e a variável Compromisso Organizacional; tento a primeira uma influência positiva sobre a segunda. Os resultados do estudo concluíram que os valores provenientes da correlação de Pearson (Tabela) demonstram o esperado, isto é, existe uma associação positiva com intensidade moderada, fortes e muito fortes (0.60 a 0.97) entre a variável Satisfação laboral Compromisso laboral.
