This work presents a hybrid coordinated manoeuvre for docking an autonomous surface vehicle with an autonomous underwater vehicle. The control manoeuvre uses visual information to estimate the AUV relative position and attitude in relation to the ASV and steers the ASV in order to dock with the AUV. The AUV is assumed to be at surface with only a small fraction of its volume visible. The system implemented in the autonomous surface vehicle ROAZ, developed by LSA-ISEP to perform missions in river environment, test autonomous AUV docking capabilities and multiple AUV/ASV coordinated missions is presented. Information from a low cost embedded robotics vision system (LSAVision), along with inertial navigation sensors is fused in an extended Kalman filter and used to determine AUV relative position and orientation to the surface vehicle The real time vision processing system is described and results are presented in operational scenario.

The inter-disciplinarity of information systems, applied discipline and activity of design, and the study from different paradigms perspectives explains the diversity of problems addressed. The context is broad and includes important issues beyond technology, as the application, use, effectiveness, efficiency and their organizational and social impacts. In design science, the research interest is in contributing to the improvement of the processes of the design activity itself. The relevance of research in design science is associated with the result obtained for the improvement of living conditions in organizational, inter-organizational and Society contexts. In the research whose results are artifacts, the adoption of design research as a process of research is crucial to ensure discipline, rigor and transparency. Based on a literature review, this paper clarifies the terms of design science and design research. This is the main motivation for presenting this paper, determinant for the phase in research in technologies and information systems which are the three research projects presented. As a result the three projects are discussed in relation to the concepts of design science and design research.

BACKGROUND: Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells have unique properties favorable to their use in clinical practice and have been studied for cardiac repair. However, these cells are larger than coronary microvessels and there is controversy about the risk of embolization and microinfarctions, which could jeopardize the safety and efficacy of intracoronary route for their delivery. The index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is an invasive method for quantitatively assessing the coronary microcirculation status. OBJECTIVES: To examine heart microcirculation after intracoronary injection of mesenchymal stem/stromal cells with the index of microcirculatory resistance. METHODS: Healthy swine were randomized to receive by intracoronary route either 30x106 MSC or the same solution with no cells (1% human albumin/PBS) (placebo). Blinded operators took coronary pressure and flow measurements, prior to intracoronary infusion and at 5 and 30 minutes post-delivery. Coronary flow reserve (CFR) and the IMR were compared between groups. RESULTS: CFR and IMR were done with a variance within the 3 transit time measurements of 6% at rest and 11% at maximal hyperemia. After intracoronary infusion there were no significant differences in CFR. The IMR was significantly higher in MSC-injected animals (at 30 minutes, 14.2U vs. 8.8U, p = 0.02) and intragroup analysis showed a significant increase of 112% from baseline to 30 minutes after cell infusion, although no electrocardiographic changes or clinical deterioration were noted. CONCLUSION: Overall, this study provides definitive evidence of microcirculatory disruption upon intracoronary administration of mesenchymal stem/stromal cells, in a large animal model closely resembling human cardiac physiology, function and anatomy.

El objetivo central es llegar a determinar las ventajas que presenta la utilización del cómic como alternativa didáctica y metodológica en la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera. Establece las bases teóricas tratando los siguientes temas: el marco psicolingüístico general de aprendizaje de una lengua, los diferentes enfoques en la enseñanza de una lengua extranjera (métodos y modelos curriculares), el carácter comunicativo de la lengua (un modelo curricular), la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera, y las características, contenido y funciones del cómic. El formato de diálogo del cómic y el uso que hace de un lenguaje cercano al lector permitirán desarrollar una metodología que tendrá como ejes el dinamismo y la participación en el desarrollo del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Como contrapartida a la enseñanza que se venía realizando, centrada principalmente en el estudio de la gramática y de la forma, propone la enseñanza de una segunda lengua desde un enfoque comunicativo. Dicho enfoque posibilitará alcanzar los siguientes fines: ayudar a pensar en el idioma extranjero, investigar diferentes fuentes de información social y cultural, reconocer variedades de jerga dentro de una misma lengua, poner al alumno en situación de comunicador, y motivar el estudio. Concluye que sería necesario determinar con posteriores estudios los tipos de aportaciones del cómic según los niveles de enseñanza.

Se informa de las funciones y los objetivos de la Asociación de Profesores de Portugués de Extremadura (APPEX). Por otro lado, se ofrece el punto de vista que esta organización tiene acerca de la enseñanza de la lengua portuguesa en la región, sobre lo que opina que la difusión de este idioma no se está produciendo como debiera, al contrario de lo que ocurre en Portugal donde, según ella, el número de ciudadanos que aprenden español es alto.
