Uma leitura de 26 poetas hoje / A reading of 26 poetas hoje

Este trabalho procura identificar selecionadas produções poéticas da antologia 26 Poetas Hoje as faces da resistência indicada por Alfredo Bosi no ensaio “Poesia Resistência”. Do “grito de alarme” pessoal de poetas pertencentes a gerações diferentes, emerge uma poesia espontânea, autêntica e, sobretudo, resistente, como produto da renovação da expressão poética, impregnado de afetividades e de intimismo e que incorporou o coloquial e os recursos da grande poesia brasileira desde 22. This reading presents a sample from this anthology and tries to identify in it the faces of resistance indicated by Alfredo Bosi in his essay: “ Poesia Resistência”. In the several manners the poets of different generations chose for their personal cry of alert we find a poetry wich is spontaneous, authentic and, above all, “resistent”. This is due mainly to the renewal of the poetical expression, impregnated with affective ness and intimism, which included colloquial language and devices used by all great Brazilian poetry since the modernism of 1922.

Vozes periféricas: expansão, imersão e diálogo na obra dos Racionais MC's

This paper presents a reflection on the work of the rap group from São Paulo Racionais MC's, highlighting points of dialogue between his last two studio albums: Sobrevivendo no inferno, 1997, and Nada como um dia após o outro, 2002. We found, in this discursive course, the presence of voices which intertwine and indicate a collectivized speech, seeking the identification between the slums and the group's rhetoric, but they also point out to an immersion into the subjectivity, to the problematization of the discourse itself, acting as a form of debugging of the social experience in the favela. We argue further that Sobrevivendo no inferno represents a turning point in the thinking of the quartet. Thus, themes and perspectives present, although embryonically, in the first focused album, point to dramas that take shape in the second one.

Esequiel Gomes da Silva reúne neste livro vários textos jornalísticos do maranhense Artur Azevedo, considerado o primeiro grande dramaturgo brasileiro. O período focado por Silva foi um dos mais fecundos na carreira jornalística do escritor, que através de suas crônicas traçou, com verve e simpático distanciamento, um amplo painel da sociedade e da vida política e cultural do Rio de Janeiro, a efervescente capital imperial. O livro traz, além das crônicas publicadas nesse período - transcritas integralmente, com ortografia atualizada - uma percuciente análise sobre a produção intelectual de Artur Azevedo, enfatizando, porém, sua atuação enquanto crítico de jornais. A obra ainda oferece uma caracterização geral das crônicas e se debruça sobre o processo de elaboração formal e sobre os recursos de comicidade utilizados pelo escritor. O trabalho também possibilita compreender como essas crônicas serviram de ferramenta de intervenção artística, cultural, política e social, terminando por mostrar um Artur Azevedo surpreendentemente engajado nos assuntos do país e empenhado no fortalecimento da cultura brasileira

Comparison of Botu-bov and Tris as Freezing Extenders of Buffalo Sperm Recovered from Epididymal Cauda

Valuable genetic material can be preserved by the cryopreservation of epididymal sperm. This study evaluated the viability of pre-freezing and post-thawed sperm samples recovered from the epididymal cauda of buffaloes. Epididymides from eight Murrah buffaloes with 18 months of age were used. Semen samples were diluted in two different freezing extenders: Botu-bov (BB) and Tris (TRIS). Immediately after slaughter, both testicles from each animal were collected and transported at 4 degrees C for six hours interval. In laboratory, the removed epididymides were flushed to obtain sperm and the fractions were diluted in both freezing extenders (BB and TRIS). Semen doses were analyzed before and after frozen at -196 degrees C. BB and TRIS pre-freezing results were 38.54 +/- 22.33%(b) and 14.17 +/- 12.78%(a) for total motility (TM), 25.00 +/- 16.12(a) and 9.44 +/- 9.11(a) for progressive motility (PM), 7.21 +/- 0.98(a) and 5.09 +/- 2.65(a) for percentage of rapid cells (RAP), 91.08 +/- 12.53(b) and 63.33 +/- 31.47(a) for velocity of trajectory (VAP), 73.54 +/- 20.17(b) and 49.50 +/- 9.11(a) for linear progressive velocity (VSL), 172.21 +/- 24.55(a) and 116.94 +/- 59.48(a) for curvilinear velocity (VCL), respectively (P < 0.05). BB and TRIS post-thawing results were 42.25 +/- 21.50(b) and 17.62 +/- 19.46(a) for TM, 27.25 +/- 24.86(a) and 18.00 +/- 13.68(a) for PM, 7.35 +/- 0.98(a) and 6.26 +/- 1.13(a) for RAP, 91.42 +/- 16.86(a) and 75.96 +/- 13.17(a) for VAP, 67.96 +/- 12.13(a) and 60.04 +/- 10.42(a) for VSL, 177.54 +/- 23.53(b) and 141.29 +/- 24.97a for VCL, respectively (P < 0.05). The sperm recovered from the epididymal cauda, after 6 h storage of epididymides at 5 degrees C ensures sperm preservation demonstrating that the diluent Botu-bov had higher total motility both pre-and post-freezing when compared with TRIS. Additionally, the sperm frozen with the diluent Botu-bov showed higher values of VSL at post-thawing. These findings may reflect in improvement of conception rates.

Benefits of soil carbon: report on the outcomes of an international scientific committee on problems of the environment rapid assessment workshop

A Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment Rapid Assessment (SCOPE-RAP) workshop was held on 18-22 March 2013. This workshop was hosted by the European Commission, JRC Centre at Ispra, Italy, and brought together 40 leading experts from Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America to create four synthesis chapters aimed at identifying knowledge gaps, research requirements, and policy innovations. Given the forthcoming publication by CABI of a book volume of the outcomes of the SCOPE-RAP in 2014, this workshop report provides an update on the global societal challenge of soil carbon management and some of the main issues and solutions that were identified in the four working sessions.

Sistema de gestão ambiental: subsídios para a implantação em uma estação de tratamento de esgoto a partir da análise crítica de estudos ambientais prévios

The process of environmental impact assessment (EIA), in the extent of previous environmental studies, has as one of its functions to provide subsidies to the actions of environmental managment of enterprises. However, the proper estructuring of programs that allows to support this managment does not often occurs. This research sought as one of its objectives to evaluate in which extent the process of EIA can be a subsidie for the EMS, providing basic elements of this system. In addition, more specifically, the research had as one of its objetives the development of subsidies for the implantation of an Environmental Managment System (EMS), based on the model of ISO 14001 (2004), for a sewage treatment plant yet to be constructed in the city of President Venceslau / SP. In order to achieve theses objetives, a discussion was held based on the evaluation of environmental studies available in the library of Cetesb / SMA. Still, for the elaboration of subsidies for the EMS of the treatment plant, the research was focused on the structuring of environmental management program, based on the information contained in its Preliminary Environmental Report (PER). The research had as one of its products, the development of subsidies for the planning and control of the environmental aspects and impacts and for the environmental program of the enterprise, based on the use of environmental indicators. It was concluded, based on the results that, in general, the previous environmental studies analyzed showed little emphasis on the phase of development of structured environmental programs that offer guidelines to achieve the desired results for the environmental performance of the company.

O legado da tradição clássica no século XIX: Castilho José, tradutor de Catulo

Seeking to contribute to the research of classical Greek and Roman translations into Portuguese and to the reception of these texts in Brazilian literature, this study intends to inventory, study and promote the work of translation of José Feliciano de Castilho, a distinguished Luso-Brazilian who has lived in Rio de Janeiro from 1847 until his death in 1879. Focusing on the poetic translations of Catullus, this study shows our intent to put together the learning of Latin language and approaches of history of translation

Fragmento d'alma

Fragmento D' Alma is an artistic research that part of a poetic tale through an initial charge of dawn one fantastic universe where words have life and willingly. The work includes sculptural works in order to interpret through the use of allegory situations of the tale in the form of sculptural compositions considering one or more characters in the story. In the sculptural work, I tried figuring the relations tale as my interpretations and poetic, so I sought theoretical studies of allegory after noting my affinity with the theme to contribute to the relationship text and image set in my work. I also sought to understand the relationships that the text played with sculptural work, so the chances that I could address this through dialogue between text and image. The studies collected through surveys pointed allegory by João Adolfo Hansen, as well as in various artistic and visual references present in my repertoire, such as the Baroque sculpture of Bernini, the performances of Berna Reale and literature of Neil Gaiman, contributed in this research to the development of my creative process during the preparation of this research work of art, making the complexity of the relationship between textual production and poetic sculptural three-dimensional, also became a concern and an integral theme of my work and my reflections presented here. Therefore, I conclude based on my own experience in this work, the artistic research inspired allegory might contribute to the development of my creative process during the preparation of this artwork, besides assigning relations between textual production and poetic dimensional sculpture
