Etätoimintojen säästöpotentiaali Lappeenrannan teknillisessä yliopistossa

Työn lähtökohtana oli arvioida etätoimintojen mahdollistamia laskettavissa olevia hyötyjä organisaatiotasolla. Etätyöskentelyn lisäksi työssä tarkasteltavia etätoimintoja ovat tieto- ja viestintätekniikan välityksellä järjestettävät etäkokoukset ja -seminaarit. Työn tavoitteena oli selvittää Lappeenrannan teknillisen yliopiston (LUT) henkilökunnan halukkuus tehdä etätöitä sekä siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Näiden selvittämiseksi toteutettiin etätyöaiheinen kysely henkilökunnalle. Kyselyn tulosten perusteella arvioitiin liikkumisen sekä tilankäytön aiheuttamien kasvihuonekaasupäästöjen sekä kustannusten säästöpotentiaalia LUT:ssa. Lisäksi suoritettiin muutama etätyöaiheinen teemahaastattelu, joiden perusteella pohdittiin etätyöskentelyn käytännön toteutuksessa huomioitavia asioita. Valtaosa LUT:n henkilökunnasta on kiinnostunut etätyömahdollisuudesta. Etätyöskentelyn yleistymiseksi LUT:ssa tulee lisätä tietoa tästä työn organisointitavasta sekä kehittää yhtenäinen toimintatapa etätyöskentelyn käytännön järjestelyihin liittyen. Etätoimintojen hyödyntäminen mahdollistaa LUT:lle organisaationa merkittävien säästöjen saavuttamisen sekä tilatehokkuutta parantamalla, että työmatkustamista vähentämällä. Säästöjä arvioitiin kasvihuonekaasupäästöinä sekä rahana. Etätyöskentelyllä on merkittävä vaikutus myös organisaation työntekijöiden päivittäisten työmatkojen kulkemisen aiheuttamaan kasvihuonekaasupäästömäärään. Etätoimintojen hyödyntämisellä on huomattava potentiaali etenkin liikkumisen aiheuttamien kasvihuonekaasupäästöjen vähentämisessä Suomessa sekä maailmanlaajuisesti hyödynnettynä globaalin ilmastonmuutoksen hillitsemisessä.

Ship manoeuvrability: full scale trials of colombian navy riverine support patrol vessel

Methodology and results of full scale maneuvering trials for Riverine Support Patrol Vessel “RSPV”, built by COTECMAR for the Colombian Navy are presented. !is ship is equipped with a “Pump – Jet” propulsion system and the hull corresponds to a wide-hull with a high Beam – Draft ratio (B/T=9.5). Tests were based on the results of simulation of turning diameters obtained from TRIBON M3© design software, applying techniques of Design of Experiments “DOE”, to rationalize the number of runs in di"erent conditions of water depth, ship speed, and rudder angle. Results validate the excellent performance of this class of ship and show that turning diameter and other maneuvering characteristics improve with decreasing water depth.

Qualidade de serviços e impacto na satisfação, lealdade e recomendação a terceiros: caso de estudo na indústria hoteleira Portuguesa

O Turismo é um fenómeno global, onde se tem verificado uma grande evolução, que tem impulsionado a oferta da capacidade e variedade do alojamento acompanhar esse desenvolvimento. Devido ao elevado nível de competitividade entre estabelecimentos hoteleiros, e ao aumento da exigência dos hóspedes, a qualidade de serviços torna-se uma importante estratégia para a indústria da hospitalidade e um fator determinante tanto para trair novos clientes, como para reter os existentes. Com este estudo pretende-se analisar as perceções e dos hóspedes nacionais, relativamente à Qualidade de Serviço prestada pelas unidades hoteleiras portuguesas onde ficaram alojados, bem como o impacto dessas perceções as intenções comportamentais futuras (Satisfação, Fidelização-Retenção hóspede e Intenções e Recomendação). Para esse efeito, recorreu-se a uma escala já adaptada à mensuração da qualidade dos serviços no setor hoteleiro, denominada por LQI-Lodging Quality Index (Getty & etty, 2003) e também a algumas questões estruturadas de acordo com Ladhari (2012), com ista a investigar as intenções comportamentais. Hospital discharge planning in the provision of food and nutrition services for older adults post discharge

This descriptive study examined whether discharge planning ensures that food and nutrition services are provided to older adults following hospital discharge. The questionnaire was distributed to discharge planning professionals in 11 South Florida hospitals. Of the 84 respondents (88% response rate), most were female nurse case managers. Almost all reported job barriers including excessive patient loads, too many responsibilities, and limited community services. While physicians, registered nurses, social workers, physical therapists, were deemed "very important" in discharge planning,registered dietitians were not, and almost half consulted them infrequently, if at all. Over 84% said nutrition-related medical conditions/factors, "strongly influenced" discharge planning. Many did not have adequate information about nutrition-related community resources, eg, home delivered meals, food stamps, outpatient registered dietitians. Therewere no universal approaches in meeting the nutrition needs in 6 case scenarios. More communication among community services and hospitals is needed.
