La casa de Bernarda Alba, obra de teatro de Federico García Lorca, fue llevada al cine por Mario Camus en 1987, en un momento en que la Ley Miró favorece un cine literario que huye del entretenimiento fácil. En este artículo tratamos de hacer un análisis de las diferencias y similitudes entre la película y la obra de teatro, además de mostrar el momento que vive el cine español en los años 80 del siglo XX.

Realidad y ficción en la obra de Mario Vargas Llosa

Se explica la utilización de las categorías de realidad-ficción, como procedimiento para estructurar el texto narrativo o teatral por parte de Mario Vargas Llosa. El análisis asume la relación de esta técnica literaria con el paradigma posmoderno y con la ideología neoliberal, con lo cual muestra la importancia de la noción de tiempo para la conjunción de estos elementos.An explanation is given of the use of the categories of reality and fiction, as a way of organizing Vargas Llosa's narrative and theatrical texts. This analysis assumes the relationship between this literary technique and postmodernism and neo-liberalism, with relation to the notion of time.

THE DIALOGIC EROTISM IN MARIO VARGAS LLOSA’S BOOK GREETINGS TO THE STEPMOTHER

Abstract: Using studies about erotism (Bataille, Baudrillard and Maingueneau) and dialogism explored by Bakhtin, we proposed to analyze the parafrastic dialogic mechanism which is focused by Fucs and Afonso Romano de Sant’Anna. We aimed to research the Mario Vargas LLosa’s book Greetings to the Stepmother. In this book, verbal and visual establish an insistent dialogue, due to the fact that every two chapters are opened by a classical painting. This painting is a summing and anticipating paraphrase of the verbal conditional which is coming after and it places a fundamental role Llosa’s production since the reiteration of the same – different languages but with the same sense – is the way through which the book goes on.   Keywords: Erotism. A HISTÓRIA NA FICÇÃO DE JOSÉ SARAMAGO E MARIO VARGAS LLOSA: CONFLUÊNCIAS E DIVERGÊNCIAS

Este estudo tem por objetivo estabelecer a comparação da construção do discurso ficcional nos romances A história do cerco de Lisboa (1989) de José Saramago e El paraíso en la otra esquina (2003) de Mario Vargas Llosa, obras que dialogam diretamente com o discurso da história. Evidenciamos o procedimento da intertextualidade que ocorre entre estes discursos, possibilitando uma aproximação entre ficção e história. Na obra de Saramago podemos notar como o narrador explicita a construção tanto do discurso da ficção como do histórico, ao relatar a trajetória fictícia de Raimundo Silva. Já na obra de Vargas Llosa o diálogo com o discurso historiográfico ocorre na reconstrução da história de vida da feminista Flora Tristán (1803-1844) e de seu neto Paul Gauguin (1848-1903), famoso por suas pinturas consideradas exóticas. Apesar de Saramago e Vargas Llosa fazerem parte de cânones literários diferentes, é possível constatar uma confluência entre os autores na sua produção ficcional.

The necessary alignment between technology innovation effectiveness and operational effectiveness

Organisations are increasingly investing in complex technological innovations such as enterprise information systems with the aim of improving the operations of the business, and in this way gaining competitive advantage. However, the implementation of technological innovations tends to have an excessive focus on either technology innovation effectiveness (also known as system effectiveness), or the resulting operational effectiveness; focusing on either one of them is detrimental to the long-term enterprise benefits through failure to achieve the real value of technological innovations. The lack of research on the dimensions and performance objectives that organisations must be focusing on is the main reason for this misalignment. This research uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative, three-stage methodological approach. Initial findings suggest that factors such as quality of information from technology innovation effectiveness, and quality and speed from operational effectiveness are important and significantly well correlated factors that promote the alignment between technology innovation effectiveness and operational effectiveness.

The role of relational capabilities in developing the capacity for supply chain innovation

The purpose of this paper is to gain a better understanding of the types of relational capabilities supply chain participants develop to enable ongoing supply chain innovation capacity building that produces improved business outcomes. This is exploratory research using qualitative data gathered by using five interviews, with the Australian road freight industry as the context. Two key relational capabilities and the improvement of four key business outcomes were identified as being present in the interaction of freight transport service providers with members of their supply chain. The data also demonstrates that by entering into competence building relationships with customers and suppliers firms can build capabilities that will increase their capacity for supply chain innovation. Even in short term arm’s length relationships firms can acquire improved skills behaviours and practices that enhance their operation effectiveness and the efficiency of the supply chain relationships.

Performance measurement and feedback in a public sector program

Establishing a framework for measuring the performance of public sector programs is fraught with dangers. Many public sector organisations are satisfied with measuring activity in programs and fail to see the need for establishing a framework that will meet the needs of participants and measure outcomes as well as activities. This paper explores how a government department in Queensland went about establishing a performance management framework to measure the outcomes and activities in a program that was a public private partnership. Findings indicate that using an iterative consultative approach performance measure can be put in place that are meaningful and assist the participants to review the program.

The critical competences needed for innovative organizational inter-firm and intra-firm integration

In today's highly challenging business environment, an innovative and systemic approach is imperative to survival and growth. Organisational integration and technological integration, are often seen as a catalyst of change that could lead to significant improvements in organisations. The levels of improvement in inter and intra firm integration should arise from a detailed understanding and development of competences within and between organisations. Preliminary findings suggest that lack of trust across organisational cultures within the firms has a negative influence on the development of the capabilities to integrate and align technological innovations and hinders implementation and the effectiveness of the operations. Additionally, poor communication and conflict effects customer satisfaction. Firms need to transfer the competences that support cooperative integration, developed through interaction with supply chain partners, to their relationship arrangements with other supply chain partners, as these are key to ensuring low operational costs.

Resistance training for obese, type 2 diabetic adults: A review of the evidence

In both developed and developing countries, increased prevalence of obesity has been strongly associated with increased incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the adult population. Previous research has emphasized the importance of physical activity in the prevention and management of obesity and T2DM, and generic exercise guidelines originally developed for the wider population have been adapted for these specific populations. However, the guidelines traditionally focus on aerobic training without due consideration to other exercise modalities. Recent reviews on resistance training in the T2DM population have not compared this modality with others including aerobic training, or considered the implications of resistance training for individuals suffering from both obesity and T2DM. In short, the optimal mix of exercise modalities in the prescription of exercise has not been identified for it benefits to the metabolic, body composition and muscular health markers common in obesity and T2DM. Similarly, the underlying physical, social and psychological barriers to adopting and maintaining exercise, with the potential to undermine the efficacy of exercise interventions, have not been addressed in earlier reviews. Because it is well established that aerobic exercise has profound effects on obesity and T2DM risk, the purpose of this review was to address the importance of resistance training to obese adults with T2DM.
