PARAFAC: uma ferramenta quimiométrica para tratamento de dados multidimensionais. Aplicações na determinação direta de fármacos em plasma humano por espectrofluorimetria

Since the last decade, the combined use of chemometrics and molecular spectroscopic techniques has become a new alternative for direct drug determination, without the need of physical separation. Among the new methodologies developed, the application of PARAFAC in the decomposition of spectrofluorimetric data should be highlighted. The first objective of this article is to describe the theoretical basis of PARAFAC. For this purpose, a discussion about the order of chemometric methods used in multivariate calibration and the development of multi-dimensional methods is presented first. The other objective of this article is to divulge for the Brazilian chemical community the potential of the combination PARAFAC/spectrofluorimetry for the determination of drugs in complex biological matrices. For this purpose, two applications aiming at determining, respectively, doxorrubicine and salicylate in human plasma are presented.

Estudio comparativo entre los resultados de una actividad didáctica sobre normas de correcta fabricación en formato multimedia y en formato papel

Se desarrolló una actividad didáctica (Te’n recordes de les NCF?, eminentemente práctica, en dos formatos, multimedia y papel) para reafirmar y evaluar los conocimientos sobre Normas de Correcta Fabricación (NCF) de los alumnos de la asignatura Farmàcia Galènica III.Se describe el estudio llevado a cabo para estudiar si existían diferencias significativas en los resultados obtenidos por los alumnos debidas al empleo de un material interactivo (aplicación para el ordenador) o un material tradicional (ejercicio en papel y escrito).

Planejamento estatístico de experimentos como uma ferramenta para otimização das condições de biossorção de Cu(II) em batelada utilizando-se casca de nozes pecã como biossorvente

In order to reduce the total number of experiments for achieving the highest amount of adsorbed Cu2+ (qmax) using pecan nutshells (Carya illinoensis) as biosorbent, a full 2(4) factorial design with two central points was carried out (mass of biosorbent- m, pH, initial metallic ion concentration- C0, time of contact- t). In order to continue the optimization of the system, a central composite surface analysis design with two factors and five central points was carried out. The maximum amount of Cu2+ taken up by the pecan nutshells was 20 mg g-1. These results were confirmed by determining a Cu2+ isotherm using the best conditions attained by the statistical design of experiments.

LS-SVM: uma nova ferramenta quimiométrica para regressão multivariada. Comparação de modelos de regressão LS-SVM e PLS na quantificação de adulterantes em leite em pó empregando NIR

Least-squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) were used as an alternative multivariate calibration method for the simultaneous quantification of some common adulterants found in powdered milk samples, using near-infrared spectroscopy. Excellent models were built using LS-SVM for determining R², RMSECV and RMSEP values. LS-SVMs show superior performance for quantifying starch, whey and sucrose in powdered milk samples in relation to PLSR. This study shows that it is possible to determine precisely the amount of one and two common adulterants simultaneously in powdered milk samples using LS-SVM and NIR spectra.

Planilha de validação: uma nova ferramenta para estimar figuras de mérito na validação de métodos analíticos univariados

This work presents the VALIDATION SPREADSHEET, a public domain tool that can be used to evaluate the figures of merit for univariate analytical methods. A real example of BTEX determination in environmental samples is included to illustrate its use. The spreadsheet has been developed for Excel® and Open Office®, and is available on the internet at http//lqta.iqm.unicamp.br.

Encuentro entre traducción jurídica y terminología. Revisión bibliogràfica y propuesta didáctica

El presente trabajo contiene algunas aportaciones de diferentes autores del siglo XX a la terminología, en general, y a la terminología jurídica, en particular, y su tratamiento durante el proceso de traducción. Nuestro punto de partida es el tópico compartido por la mayoría de los autores de que la terminología jurídica es un problema en la traducción. Para abordar esta problemática y, en una primera parte, presentamos la importancia de la terminología jurídica desde la perspectiva del Derecho. En segundo lugar, recogemos los tópicos extraídos de la revisión bibliográfica organizados en una clasificación de los diversos problemas traductológicos que supone la terminología jurídica y en una descripción de la intervención de la terminología en las diversas fases del proceso de traducción. De este modo, abordamos el examen de las fases del proceso de traducción con diferentes propuestas para el análisis terminológico desde la comprensión del texto original hasta la reexpresión en la lengua meta. En último lugar, proponemos una unidad didáctica que pretende poner en práctica lo desarrollado en la parte teórica del trabajo.

Metátese de olefinas aplicada ao fechamento de anéis: uma ferramenta poderosa para a síntese de macrociclos naturais

For a quarter of a century, metathesis has become indispensable for the synthesis of natural and non-natural products, particularly of biologically active compounds. This review illustrates through a maximum of appropriate examples the power and the versatility of the metathesis ring-closure (RCM) reaction as a key ring-closure methodology for the synthesis of natural macrocycles. Its high functional group compatibility as well as the possibility of further transformations makes this reaction a powerful tool in the cases where the structural framework and function requirements are difficult to meet.

Idoneidad didáctica de un protocolo sociocultural de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las matemáticas

En este estudio se evalúa la adecuación de un protocolo para la enseñanza delconcepto de poliedro regular, destinado a alumnos de 14 y 15 años. Este protocolo se ha diseñado desde una perspectiva sociocultural y su evaluación se basa en la aplicación de los criterios deidoneidad didáctica que ofrece el enfoque ontosemiótico. La idoneidad se estudia con la revisión de sus diferentes dimensiones: matemática, cognitiva, interaccional, mediacional, emocional y ecológica. El análisis ha permitido detectar algunos factores que favorecen la validez del protocolo y la adecuación para su empleo en el aula, como el tipo de discurso, el uso de material manipulable o el trabajo cooperativo

La Adquisición de competencias básicas en educación primaria: una aproximación interdisciplinar desde la didáctica de la lengua y de las matemáticas

Este artículo trata de la aplicación de las competencias básicas en el currículum de Educación Primaria. El objetivo que persigue es ofrecer algunas estrategias para ayudar a los maestros a integrar las competencias básicas en los métodos de programación y evaluación. Con este fin, y para prever las posibles dificultades en la implementación de las competencias básicas, en la primera parte del artículo se analiza la situación actual a partir de la lectura de diversos documentos legales vigentes. A continuación, en la segunda parte del artículo se aportan algunas herramientas para facilitar esta integración desde las áreas de lengua y de matemáticas. Realizamos esta aproximación desde la didáctica de la lengua y de las matemáticas por su carácter instrumental para la adquisición de otros conocimientos

Imobilização de enzimas em suportes cromatográficos: uma ferramenta na busca por substâncias bioativas

The development and characterization of bioreactors or IMER (immobilized enzyme reactors) as research tools are important in the scope of medicinal chemistry and constitute an alternative for the rational development of drugs. This approach does not require highly purified enzymes or a great amount of protein, but increase the enzymatic stability against heat, organic solvents and pH, without too much loss of catalyst activity. Immobilized enzyme reactors (IMER) can be used for the accomplishment of high efficiency screening on-line and, thus inhibitors can be quickly identified. Here, we emphasize the development of IMER by use of different methods of immobilization and chromatographic supports. Their applications, in different areas of research, are also fully discussed.
