A summary of the results from the study of benthos of lakes and reservoirs in Spain is provided, with a list of the species found to date. Spanish natural lakes are smaller than European lakes; the largest is Lake Sanabria, of glacial origin, which is 3 Km long and half a kilorneter wide. Many are very small and situated in the mountains; more than 200 hundred have been recorded in Spain, but only in Lake Sanabria and Lake Banyoles have the benthos been studied. Lake Sanabria is a cold oligotrophic, monomictic lake with oxygen always present in the deepest zones. Its fauna is similar to that of other central European lakes, with Mici.opsectra c.orztractu (a chironomid) as the dominan1 species. Lake Banyoles is a karstic, monomictic and multibasin lake; despite the low primary productivity, due to the abundante of sulphate in the water, the allochthonous inflow of organic matter and the inflow of water from bottom springs, the profunda1 environinent is very stressing for benthic fauna. Very low oxygen concentrations and high sulphide content in the water and sediments dueto meromixis mean that only the larva of the dipteran Chaohoi.lcs flai7icans was present in one of the 5 basins of the lake. In other basins, when oxygen is available (no meromixis), the fauna is similar to that of tlie inineralized lakes of the Aegean region and some lakes in central Italia. On the other hand, preliminary data from the Pyrenean lakes and from Sierra Nevada ponds reveal no differences with northern cold lakes. Tlie largest lakes in Spain are the reservoirs. There are nearly 1000 and data are available on 100 of them, including the kargest. In addition to oxygen and sulphide content in the bottom waters, water level fluctuation and high sedimentation rates are disturbance factors that prevented the organization of the community. Allochthonous inputs of organic matter are also an important factor both in the reservoirs and also in the small, oligotrophic lakes like Banyoles and Sanabria. As a result the meiofaunal loop is very important in many of the Spanish water bodies . For this reason the natural lakes and reservoirs of Spain are dominated by Oligochaeta, small crustaceans and the microcarnivore chironomids (such as Procladi~ls, Cladopelma and Mi(,rnc.hil-onnmus) that feed on these meoifaunal elements. The phytophagous chironomids, like Chironomus, are only abundan1 in the shallow areas of mesotrophic and eutrophic reservoirs. This situation makes it difficult to apply the typological system of SAETHER which predicts with some confidence only the benthic communities of Spanish natural lakes above 1500 m in the Pyrenees or the ponds above 2000 m in Sierra Nevada mountains. Higher temperatures (which originate a longer stratification period), the presence of sulphate in the waters of the eastern part of Spain and high inputs of sediments and allochthonous organic matter seem to be the factors that originated the differences between the benthic profunda1 faunas of Spanish lakes and reservoirs and those of the temperate lakes of north and central Europe.

Hitsatuilla rakenteilla väsyminen on keskeinen vauriotekijä. Väsymiskestoiän laskentaan on olemassa useita erilaisia menetelmiä, joista hot spot ﷓menetelmä on hitsattujen rakenteiden yhteydessä yhä yleistyvä ja sangen käyttökelpoinen. Hot spot menetelmässä kestoikälaskenta perustuu rakenteellisen jännityksen vaihteluun ja pieneen joukkoon kokeellisesti määrättyjä Wöhler-käyriä. Rakenteellinen jännitys voidaan määrittää joko prototyypistä mittaamalla, elementtimenetelmällä laskemalla tai parametristen kerrointen avulla. Suunnittelukäytännön kehittämisessä tutkittiin esimerkkirakenteena Rammer RC 22 leikkurimurskainta. Tarkoituksena oli mitata murskaimesta voimasuureita, joita voitaisiin käyttää kuormitustietona laskettaessa jännityksiä elementtimenetelmällä. Myöhempien laskentatulosten verifiointia varten mitattiin lisäksi muutamia hot spot ﷓jännityksiä. Työn kokeellinen puoli keskittyi voimasuuremittauksiin ja niistä saatavien tulosten saattamiseen sopusointuun vapaakappalemallien kanssa. Suoritettiin lukuisia kalibrointimittauksia ja mittausjärjestelyä kehitettiin, kunnes syyt aluksi saatujen mittaustulosten virheellisyyteen selvisivät. Leikkausvoimamittausten osalta tuloksia verifioitiin elementtimenetelmälaskelmin. Työn tuloksena saatiin luotua toimiva pohja voimasuure- ja hot spot ﷓mittauksille. Jatkossa voidaan siirtyä tekemään mittauksia todellisissa työskentelytilanteissa.

Tutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää, mitä piirteitä ja eroja on löydettävissä eri työntekijäryhmien käsityksissä sisäisen viestinnän toimivuudesta ja mitä ominaisuuksia nämä käsitykset heijastavat yhteisöstä. Tavoitteeseen pyritään laadullisella tapaustutkimuksella, jossa tutkimusmenetelmänä käytetään teemahaastattelua. Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta projektin sisäisen viestinnän piirteiden heijastavan hyvin viestinnän eri toimintaympäristöjä. Projektin sisällä toimintaympäristöt voidaan erottaa jopa työntekijäryhmittäin. Viestintäkäsitykset paljastavat myös sisäisen viestinnän jatkuvan muutostilan, joka voidaan havaita integroivan ja dissipatiivisen viestinnän vahvuuksien vaihtelulla. Tutkimus vahvisti käsitystä pelkän integroivan viestinnän riittämättömyydestä sisäisen viestinnän myönteisenä kokemiseen. Nykypäivänä myös mekanistisesti toimivissa ympäristöissä tulisi edistää horisontaalisia, vuorovaikutuksellisia ja avoimia kommunikaatiokäytäntöjä. Tutkimus vahvisti edelleen käsitystä johdon ja esimiesten näkyvyyden ja kuuluvuuden merkityksestä hallita mekanistisessa ympäristössä, mutta johdolta odotetaan myös yhä enemmän dialogiin perustuvien viestintävalmiuksien hallintaa. Ymmärtämällä kolmen erilaisen toimintaympäristön olemassaolo, voidaan sisäisen viestinnän resursseja kohdistaa tehokkaasti ympäristön ominaisuuksien ja tavoitteiden suuntaisesti.

Ce travail de recherche vise à explorer le lien entre l'interprétation des mécanismes de défense, élément fondamental de la technique psychanalytique, et l'alliance thérapeutique. Il a été démontré que celle-ci est un prédicteur robuste des résultats en psychothérapie, indépendamment des modalités de traitement et des types de patients. Dans la littérature, quelques liens positifs ont déjà pu être établis entre l'interprétation en général et le développement de l'alliance thérapeutique en psychothérapie psychanalytique. Nous avons choisi de regarder de plus près quelle forme peut prendre ce lien et quelle peut être la valeur de l'interprétation lors des processus de fluctuation de l'alliance thérapeutique qui sont conceptualisés comme séquences de rupture et de résolution de l'alliance. Nous nous sommes particulièrement intéressés aux effets de la concentration des interventions du thérapeute sur l'interprétation des mécanismes de défense déployés par le patient à ces moments-là. Nous avons choisi des patients (n=17) en traitement psychodynamique dans lequel l'alliance thérapeutique, mesurée après chaque séance au moyen de l'Echelle d'alliance aidante (Haq), montrait une séquence de rupture et résolution. Deux séances « contrôle » (5ème et 15èm<>) ont également été sélectionnées. Les interventions du thérapeute ont été examinées et qualifiées à l'aide du 'Psychodynamic Intervention Rating Scale' et de l'Echelle d'évaluation des mécanismes de défense afin d'identifier parmi elles celles qui portaient sur l'interprétation des mécanismes de défense. Nous n'avons pas trouvé de différences significatives entre les séances de rupture, les séances de résolution et les séances de contrôle en ce qui concerne la fréquence relative des trois grandes catégories d'interventions thérapeutiques, à savoir l'interprétation, le soutien et la définition du cadre. Par contre, comparées aux séances de contrôle, les séances de rupture de l'alliance thérapeutique étaient caractérisées par moins d'interprétations des défenses et particulièrement des défenses « intermédiaires » (essentiellement névrotiques). Les séances de résolution de l'alliance thérapeutique étaient caractérisées par la présence de plus d'interprétations des défenses « intermédiaires ». Ces résultats soutiennent l'hypothèse de l'existence d'un lien entre des éléments spécifiques de la technique utilisés dans le travail clinique et le processus de l'alliance thérapeutique en psychothérapie psychodynamique. Sur la base de la littérature on peut considérer que, en partie au moins, une interprétation précise et faite au moment opportun peut avoir un effet favorable sur l'alliance thérapeutique. Nos résultats indiquent que c'est la concentration des interprétations sur les mécanismes de défense (par rapport à d'autres éléments, comme les pulsions ou l'affect) qui est la plus succeptible d'être associée au développement de l'alliance. Ceci est en accord avec une longue tradition en psvchothérapie psychanalytique qui considère que la mise à jour des motions refoulées est principalement realisée au moyen de la défaite des résistances. Viser en particulier les défenses "intermédiaires" dans ce type de travail peut être vu comme un moyen de réengager le patient dans le processus d'exploration commune auquel les défenses de ce niveau peuvent faire obstacle.

Ten years of demographic and genetic monitoring of Stachys maritima in Catalonia (2001-2010). Implications for a recovery plan.- Stachys maritima is a species typical of the coastal dunes, with a wide distribution within the Mediterranean Basin. In spite of this, the species shows a clear regression. In Catalonia, it has been observed an important reduction of its populations since early 20th century, where it has disappeared from several localities in which it was relatively common (Tarragonès, Barcelonès). Herein we present the results of the demographic monitoring of the species during the last 10 years (2001-2010) in the known localities in Catalonia. Besides corroborating the disappearance (northern Sant Martí d’Empúries), the re-discovering (Llobregat Delta beach) and the detection of new populations (inner dunes of the Montgrí), a large year-to-year fluctuation of the monitored populations is stated; the possible reasons are discussed. In addition, the present work also includes the results of the allozyme diversity analysis of the new detected populations as well as the rediscoveries of the period 2004-2008, which were not included in a former study of genetic diversity carried out in 2002-2003. It is necessary to emphasize that the contribution of the new populations to the genetic diversity of Stachys maritima is very small, which can be attributed to their limited population size and /or to founder effects. Despite that the species is included in the Annex 2 (“En Perill d’Extinció”) within the Catàleg de Flora Amenaçada de Catalunya (Catalogue of Endangered Flora of Catalonia), and some “soft” conservation measures have been applied at local level (signposting of the beach accesses, environmental education, etc.) coupled with other more significant measures (e.g. translocation of individuals discovered in an artificial sandbank), it would be necessary the coordinated action and the scientific support of any initiative of conservation that could be carried out. The general frame to initiate actions of conservation should be the recovery plan of Stachys maritima, whose draft and application is mandatory in accordance to the Catàleg

Sense of coherence in adolescence: measuring, predictive factors, consequences The aim of this study was to explore the stability of sense of coherence (SOC) in adolescence and the associations between childhood psychological symptoms and SOC in adolescence. Furthermore, the aim of this study was to explore whether the 13-item SOC scale for adults is applicable to adolescents 12 years of age and to determine which factors are associated with perceived health and SOC. Data relating to SOC and factors associated with perceived health and SOC were collected in class in a cross-sectional setting by self-administered questionnaires in all publicly funded elementary schools (N=35) of Turku. A total of 1 231 (83%) of 1 481 12-year-old schoolchildren participated in the study. The data was, with appropriated authority consent, anonymously completed with marks in mathematics, native and first foreign language at the end of sixth class. The examination of stability of SOC in adolescence and the associations between childhood psychological symptoms and SOC was based on data of a prospective population-based mail survey. The source population originated in 11 health authority areas of the Province of Turku and Pori. The study was carried out by using questionnaires at child’s ages of 3, 12, 15, and 18 years. Acceptably completed questionnaires were returned by 1 086 (84%) parents at the child’s age of 3, at the age of 12 by 70% adolescents and parents, at the age of 15, by 66% adolescents and 58% parents, and at the age of 18, by 61.5% adolescents and 61% parents. The results of the study showed that childhood behavioural problems from the age of 3 years predicted poor SOC at the age of 18 years. A poor SOC was associated with psychological symptoms and behavioural problems in adolescence. Contrary to assumptions in Antonovsky’s theory, there was no significant change in SOC between the ages of 15 to 18 years, and the stability of SOC did not depend on initial SOC. Slight fluctuation in SOC scores was seen at the individual level. When studied cross-sectionally, in 12-year-old schoolchildren, insufficient physical exercise, less than excellent marks in mathematics, weak SOC, insufficient social support from teachers, and perceived various problems in class climate associated with perception of poor health. Identification of behavioural problems in early childhood helps to identify the children at risk of ill-being and poor SOC in adolescence since problems seem to persist unchanged until adolescence. The 13-item SOC scale aimed at adults is applicable to adolescents of 12 years of age or older and the SOC scale is a useful tool in identifying adolescents in need of supportive interventions.

Tässä työssä tarkastellaan taajuusmuuttajan vanhenemista syklisissä käytöissä puolijohdetehokomponenttien osalta. Laitteiden vikaantumisprosessien analysoimiseksi työssä suunnitellaan syklinen kestotestausjärjestelmä, joka mahdollistaa useamman taajuusmuuttajan yhtäaikaisen vanhentamisen. Jaksottaisesti toistuvat kuormitussyklit rasittavat termomekaanisesti taajuusmuuttajan tehomoduulin sisäisiä rakenteita suurten lämpötilavaihtelujen johdosta. Teoriaosuuden pääpaino kohdistuu puolijohdetehokomponenttien rakenteeseen, vikaantumisprosesseihin ja eliniän kartoittamiseen. Työssä käydään läpi yleisimpien pienijännitteisten moottorinohjausinverttereiden tehomoduulien mekaaniset rakenteet, tyypillisemmät syklisestä kuormituksesta johtuvat vikaantumisprosessit sekä puolijohdetehokomponenttivalmistajien käyttämät syklisen eliniän testausmenetelmät. Loppuosassa työtä suunnitellaan taajuusmuuttajan syklinen kestotestausjärjestelmä laitteiden keinotekoista vanhentamista varten. Testausjärjestelmällä voidaan kuormittaa useampaa taajuusmuuttajaa vuorottain mielivaltaisella kuormitusvirtaprofiililla. Laitteita vanhennettiin kaksi testierää kuormittamalla niitä jaksottaisesti hissikäytön tyypillisellä kuormitusprofiililla. Puolijohdetehokomponentin vanhenemisen edistystä seurattiin termisen impedanssiketjun mittausmenetelmällä, joka perustuu IGBT:n kollektoriemitterijännitteen lämpötilariippuvuuteen. Testilaitteiden puolijohdetehokomponentit hajosivat syklisen eliniän päättymiseen teoriassa esitettyjen vikaantumisprosessien seurauksesta. Tehomoduulien vika-analyysi osoittaa syklisen kestotestausjärjestelmän soveltuvaksi menetelmäksi tutkia erilaisten kuormitusprofiilien vaikutusta taajuusmuuttajan vanhenemiseen.

Low quality mine drainage from tailings facilities persists as one of the most significant global environmental concerns related to sulphide mining. Due to the large variation in geological and environmental conditions at mine sites, universal approaches to the management of mine drainage are not always applicable. Instead, site-specific knowledge of the geochemical behaviour of waste materials is required for the design and closure of the facilities. In this thesis, tailings-derived water contamination and factors causing the pollution were investigated in two coeval active sulphide mine sites in Finland: the Hitura Ni mine and the Luikonlahti Cu-Zn-Co-Ni mine and talc processing plant. A hydrogeochemical study was performed to characterise the tailingsderived water pollution at Hitura. Geochemical changes in the Hitura tailings were evaluated with a detailed mineralogical and geochemical investigation (solid-phase speciation, acid mine drainage potential, pore water chemistry) and using a spatial assessment to identify the mechanisms of water contamination. A similar spatial investigation, applying selective extractions, was carried out in the Luikonlahti tailings area for comparative purposes (Hitura low-sulphide tailings vs. Luikonlahti sulphide-rich tailings). At both sites, hydrogeochemistry of tailings seepage waters was further characterised to examine the net results of the processes observed within the impoundments and to identify constraints for water treatment. At Luikonlahti, annual and seasonal variation in effluent quality was evaluated based on a four-year monitoring period. Observations pertinent to future assessment and mine drainage prevention from existing and future tailings facilities were presented based on the results. A combination of hydrogeochemical approaches provided a means to delineate the tailings-derived neutral mine drainage at Hitura. Tailings effluents with elevated Ni, SO4 2- and Fe content had dispersed to the surrounding aquifer through a levelled-out esker and underneath the seepage collection ditches. In future mines, this could be avoided with additional basal liners in tailings impoundments where the permeability of the underlying Quaternary deposits is inadequate, and with sufficiently deep ditches. Based on the studies, extensive sulphide oxidation with subsequent metal release may already initiate during active tailings disposal. The intensity and onset of oxidation depended on e.g. the Fe sulphide content of the tailings, water saturation level, and time of exposure of fresh sulphide grains. Continuous disposal decreased sulphide weathering in the surface of low-sulphide tailings, but oxidation initiated if they were left uncovered after disposal ceased. In the sulphide-rich tailings, delayed burial of the unsaturated tailings had resulted in thick oxidized layers, despite the continuous operation. Sulphide weathering and contaminant release occurred also in the border zones. Based on the results, the prevention of sulphide oxidation should already be considered in the planning of tailings disposal, taking into account the border zones. Moreover, even lowsulphide tailings should be covered without delay after active disposal ceases. The quality of tailings effluents showed wide variation within a single impoundment and between the two different types of tailings facilities assessed. The affecting factors included source materials, the intensity of weathering of tailings and embankment materials along the seepage flow path, inputs from the process waters, the water retention time in tailings, and climatic seasonality. In addition, modifications to the tailings impoundment may markedly change the effluent quality. The wide variation in the tailings effluent quality poses challenges for treatment design. The final decision on water management requires quantification of the spatial and seasonal fluctuation at the site, taking into account changes resulting from the eventual closure of the impoundment. Overall, comprehensive hydrogeochemical mapping was deemed essential in the identification of critical contaminants and their sources at mine sites. Mineralogical analysis, selective extractions, and pore water analysis were a good combination of methods for studying the weathering of tailings and in evaluating metal mobility from the facilities. Selective extractions with visual observations and pH measurements of tailings solids were, nevertheless, adequate in describing the spatial distribution of sulphide oxidation in tailings impoundments. Seepage water chemistry provided additional data on geochemical processes in tailings and was necessary for defining constraints for water treatment.

Ilex paraguariensis is a native plant in Southern Brazil, whose leaves are utilized in beverages such as chimarrão and tererê. This study investigated variations of total methylxanthines in leaves from two Ilex populations collected at one-month intervals over the course of one year. The levels varied from 1.92 to 10.37 mg/g (Ijuí) and 1.77 to 9.17 mg/g (Santa Maria). Statistical analysis indicated a significative variation in the contents of all samples analysed, confirming seasonal fluctuations. These results show that the period of harvest might decisively influence the organoleptic characteristics of raw material used in industry and therefore in commercial products.

Dairy wastewater is characterized by frequent episodes of drastic increases of organic content, giving rise to bulking filamentous bacteria and compromising the biological treatment process. This study reports the reduction of organic content of such wastewater by the application of the solar photo-Fenton process. For a wastewater containing 335, 2627 or 5400 mg C L-1 between 90% and 50% of the organic carbon content were removed after 3.5 h irradiation. The results show that the solar photo-Fenton process can be a good alternative for the abatement of organic content of dairy wastewater, especially in cases of organic content fluctuation, allowing an efficient biological treatment.

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a disease of increasing concern in the production of wheat (Triticum aestivum). This work studied some of the factors affecting the density of airborne Gibberella zeae inoculum. Spore samplers were placed at the edge of a field in order to observe spore deposition over a period of 45 days and nights in September and October, the period that coincides with wheat flowering. Gibberella zeae colonies were counted for each period and values transformed to relative density. A stepwise regression procedure was used to identify weather variables helpful in predicting spore cloud density. In general, a predominant night-time spore deposition was observed. Precipitation and daily mean relative humidity over 90% were the factors most hightly associated with peak events of spores in the air. Models for predicting spore cloud density simulated reasonably well with the fluctuation of airborne propagules during both night and day, with potential to be integrated into an FHB risk model framework.

Multilevel converters provide an attractive solution to bring the benefits of speed-controlled rotational movement to high-power applications. Therefore, multilevel inverters have attracted wide interest in both the academic community and in the industry for the past two decades. In this doctoral thesis, modulation methods suitable especially for series connected H-bridge multilevel inverters are discussed. A concept of duty cycle modulation is presented and its modification is proposed. These methods are compared with other well-known modulation schemes, such as space-vector pulse width modulation and carrier-based modulation schemes. The advantage of the modified duty-cycle modulation is its algorithmic simplicity. A similar mathematical formulation for the original duty cycle modulation is proposed. The modified duty cycle modulation is shown to produce well-formed phase-to-neutral voltages that have lower total harmonic distortion than the space-vector pulse width modulation and the duty cycle modulation. The space-vector-based solution and the duty cycle modulation, on the other hand, result in a better-quality line-to-line voltage and current waveform. The voltage of the DC links in the modules of the series-connected H-bridge inverter are shown to fluctuate while they are under load. The fluctuation causes inaccuracies in the voltage production, which may result in a failure of the flux estimator in the controller. An extension for upper-level modulation schemes, which changes the switching instants of the inverter so that the output voltage meets the reference voltage accurately regardless of the DC link voltages, is proposed. The method is shown to reduce the error to a very low level when a sufficient switching frequency is used. An appropriate way to organize the switching instants of the multilevel inverter is to make only one-level steps at a time. This causes restrictions on the dynamical features of the modulation schemes. The produced voltage vector cannot be rotated several tens of degrees in a single switching period without violating the above-mentioned one-level-step rule. The dynamical capabilities of multilevel inverters are analyzed in this doctoral thesis, and it is shown that the multilevel inverters are capable of operating even in dynamically demanding metal industry applications. In addition to the discussion on modulation schemes, an overvoltage in multilevel converter drives caused by cable reflection is addressed. The voltage reflection phenomenon in drives with long feeder cables causes premature insulation deterioration and also affects the commonmode voltage, which is one of the main reasons for bearing currents. Bearing currents, on the other hand, cause fluting in the bearings, which results in premature bearing failure. The reflection phenomenon is traditionally prevented by filtering, but in this thesis, a modulationbased filterless method to mitigate the overvoltage in multilevel drives is proposed. Moreover, the mitigation method can be implemented as an extension for upper-level modulation schemes. The method exploits the oscillations caused by two consecutive voltage edges so that the sum of the oscillations results in a mitigated peak of the overvoltage. The applicability of the method is verified by simulations together with experiments with a full-scale prototype.

Painelajittimet ovat yleisimpiä hiokkeen lajitteluun käytettyjä lajittimia. Painelajittimien suorituskyky on parantunut viimeisten vuosikymmenien aikana niin paljon, että pyörrepuhdistuksesta on pääosin voitu luopua osana hiokkeen lajittelua. Painelajittimen erinomaisuus perustuu siihen, että sillä voidaan erottaa massasta hyvinkin erilaisia epäpuhtauksia. Nykyään vallitsevia painelajittelun trendejä ovat sakeuden nosto, energiankulutuksen vähentäminen sekä eri fraktioiden erottumisen tehostuminen. Kaikilla pyritään vähentämään vedenkäyttöä ja parantamaan massan ominaisuuksia jatkoprosesseja silmälläpitäen. Tässä työssä tarkasteltiin painelajittimen roottorin kierrosnopeuden vaikutusta akseptimassan laatuun. Luodaan malli freeness-pudotukselle lajittimen yli. Sekä tarkastellaan myös automaatioon pohjautuvan säädön käyttöönottoa lajittimen akseptimassan freenesvaihteluiden tasaamiseksi. Toisaalta tehdään myös suppea selvitys lajittimien energiankulutuksista erilaisilla roottorin pyörimisnopeuksilla. Tuotantokäytössä oleviin lajittimiin asennettujen invertterisäätöjen ja koepisteistä saatujen tulosten avulla voidaan todeta, että laskemalla roottorin pyörimisnopeutta voidaan lajittimessa tapahtuvaa freenespudotusta kasvattaa. Samalla saavutetaan hyötyjä myös muissa massan ominaisuuksissa, kuten vetolujuudessa. Automaattisäädön käyttöönotolla saavutetaan huomattavasti pienempi hajonta akseptimassan freeneksessä. Rejektilinjan lajittimissa hajonta lähes puolittui ja päälinjan lajittimissa päästiin noin kolmanneksen parannukseen. Energian kulutuksia tutkittaessa huomataan, että roottorin kierrosnopeutta alentamalla voidaan merkittävästi vähentää lajittimien energian kulutusta. Parhaassa tapauksessa voidaan säästää neljännes lajittelun energiakustannuksissa.

Tämän diplomityön tarkoituksena on löytää hitsaavan asiakasohjautuvan tilauskonepajan käyttöön keinoja, joiden avulla on mahdollista tasata suhdannevaihteluiden vaikutusta yrityksen toimintaan. Korkea- ja matalasuhdanteen välistä eroa pyritään yksittäisen yrityksen osalta kaventamaan, vähentämään laskusuhdanteen vaikutuksia yritykseen ja parantamaan yrityksen valmiuksia noususuhdanteeseen siirryttäessä. Tämän työn tarkoituksen saavuttamiseksi tarkastelussa on keskitytty yrityksen tuottavuuteen, kannattavuuteen ja kustannustehokkuuteen. Tarkastelu on rajattu yksittäis- ja piensarjatuotantoon ja siinä tyypillisimmin käytössä oleviin kaarihitsausmenetelmiin. Teoreettinen tarkastelu on perustunut kirjallisuuteen ja oman työuran aikaisiin havaintoihin. Tarkastelua on täydennetty kolmen yrityksen toimitusjohtajan avoimella haastattelulla. Soveltuvina keinoina on löydetty asiakasohjautuvalle tilauskonepajalle yleisesti soveltuvia toimenpiteitä ja erikseen asiakasohjautuvan tilauskonepajan hitsaukseen soveltuvia toimenpiteitä. Löydetyillä yleisillä toimenpiteillä vaikutetaan erityisesti tuotannon sitoman pääoman määrään, toimitusvarmuuteen ja asiakassuhteen muotoon sekä niissä tapahtuviin muutoksiin. Hitsaukseen liittyvillä toimenpiteillä vaikutetaan pääasiassa tekijöihin, joiden avulla hitsaustyön määrää tuotteen valmistuksessa voidaan vähentää, tuotteen hitsaustyöhön kuluvaa aikaa voidaan pienentää ja hitsaustyötä voidaan helpottaa ja keventää.

A distinctive design feature of steam boiler with natural circulation is the presence of the steam drum which plays a role of the separator of vapor from the flow of water-and-steam mixture coming into steam drum from the furnace tubes. Steam drum with unheated downcomer tubes, deducing from it, and riser (screen/furnace tubes) inside the furnace is a closed circulation loop in which movement of water (downcomer tubes) and water-and-steam mixture (riser tubes) is organized. The movement of the working fluid is appears due to occurrence of the natural pressure, determined by the difference in hydrostatic pressure and the mass of water and water-and-steam mixtures in downcomer and riser tubes and called the driving pressure of the natural circulation: S drive = H steam (ρ down + ρ mix) g where: ρ down - density of water in downcomer tubes; ρ mix - density of water in riser tubes; H steam - height of steam content section; g - acceleration of gravity. In steam boilers with natural circulation the circulation rate is usually between 10 and 30. Thus, consumption of water in the circulation circuit “circulation rate times” more than steam output of the boiler. There are two aspects of the design of natural water circulation loops. One is to ensure a sufficient mass flux of circulating water to avoid burnout of evaporator tubes. The other is to avoid tube wall temperature fluctuation and tube vibration due to oscillation of circulation velocity. The design criteria are therefore reduced, in principle, to those of critical heat flux, critical flow rate for burnout, and flow instability. In practical design, however, the circulation velocity and the void fraction at the evaporator tube outlet are used as the design criteria (Seikan I., et. al., 1999). This study has been made with assumption that the heat flux in the furnace of the boiler even all the time. The target of the study was to define the circulation rate of the boiler, thus average heat flux do not change it.
