Avaliação de política pública: o ProInfo e sua gestão no município de Parnamirim (2009-2012)

The dissertation assesses aspects of the management of IT in Education Program (ProInfo), in the municipality of Parnamirim-RN. Checks as their management functions, with the following objectives: a) Examine whether the objectives of the activities related to teachers' program are being implemented according to the official documents, b) examine if there is a monitoring program activities as the activities of teachers c) Identify whether teachers develop activities and environments using the technological resources of the internet. The research brings a central issue: How ProInfo is subsidizing the activities of the teachers involved in the program to achieve their goals effectively? As a central hypothesis of this work, to be a general north to the research, we have: the ProInfo establishes a fragile and discontinuous link between the management of the activities of teachers and the goals that he sets. The hypothesis was validated by the analysis of data from field research, when we encounter a series of limiting aspects of program effectiveness at the municipal level. This research was undertaken with managers of state and municipal schools and teachers, using a sample of four schools Parnamirim-RN, in order to include some aspects of program management at the municipal level and effectiveness goals proposed, focusing on teachers who participated in the training. The methodological process consisted of literature review, interviews and documentary analysis carried to the organs responsible for ProInfo statewide (UNDIME/RN ) and municipal level, next to the Municipal Education Parnamirim-RN. Based on data collected from empirical field research, it was found that the ProInfo lacks periodic reviews by the governing bodies of the program, about the actions developed through appropriate instruments, which enable a more realistic view of the results of the program ex post (during or after deployment)

Student Independent Projects Environmental Studies 2012: Creating Effective University Carbon Inventories: Best

Universities have a special capacity and responsibility to address climate change and this paper focuses on carbon inventories as an important tool for reducing emissions on university campuses. I first describe carbon inventories then analyze three universities that have already developed sustainability action and baseline inventories: Dalhousie University, Mount Allison University, and the University of Victoria. From the case studies, I identify and discuss six conditions important for the successful implementation of carbon inventories. Finally, the case study findings are applied to Grenfell Campus and a carbon inventory implementation plan is proposed for this institution. The paper draws on qualitative Methodologies (interviews and case studies) using the theoretical frame work of ecological economics and the concepts of externalities, sustainable development, and policy instruments.

Desafios 2012: a noção de número racional em alunos do 4º ano de escolaridade

Com este estudo pretendi perceber as estratégias e dificuldades que persistem em alunos que supostamente terão sido alvo de um trabalho com números racionais nos primeiros anos de escolaridade, mais concretamente perceber a noção de partilha equitativa, bem como de comparação de frações dos referidos alunos. Decorre do referido objetivo as seguintes questões de investigação: (1) Que estratégias e dificuldades apresentam os alunos na resolução de situações de partilha equitativa? (2) Que estratégias e dificuldades apresentam os alunos na comparação de números racionais? Para atingir o objetivo pretendido recorri a uma investigação de cariz interpretativo, abordagem essencialmente qualitativa e pesquisa documental, pelo que analisei as provas de Matemática realizadas por 1330 alunos de 21 agrupamentos do Distrito de Leiria, no âmbito do concurso “DESAFIOS 2012”, mais concretamente as respostas dadas a uma tarefa relativa aos números racionais. De salientar que os alunos que participaram no concurso “DESAFIOS 2012”, frequentaram o 1.º ciclo do ensino básico, j�� no âmbito da entrada em vigor do Programade Matemática do Ensino Básico - PMEB (ME, 2007). Os resultados levam a concluir que uma das estratégias mais usada é o recurso à modelação da tarefa para a partilha equitativa das sandes, bem como formas intuitivas de pensamento para a comparação de frações. As dificuldades prendem-se essencialmente com a modelação da tarefa e identificação das quantidades envolvidas, bem como o recurso ao pensamento diferencial para a comparação das frações.

Women’s football. Notes for a social history of women’s sport in Spain, 1900-1936

In the context of demands by the European feminist movement at the beginning of the 20th century, in Spain women’s sport flagged up aspirations to what were considered to be male practices. The first experiences of women in football stand out because of their use of the media to appear as a symbol of social transformation to modernity in the 20th century. It was not in vain that women’s football highlighted the demands of the feminist movements, although it did come up against male disapproval from an opposing group. The research sets out from a bibliographical and media review of specialist press and sports news of the time. Other current studies have also been considered in order to place it in a social and historical focus on sport. This has enabled us to highlight that football in Spain was established as an unequivocal space for (re) producing male hegemony where women were relegated to the representation of a symbolic ritual in a scenario of accessory and condescension.

La popularización del fútbol en España. Análisis del fenómeno a través de la literatura especializada del fútbol (1920-1936)

La consolidación del fútbol en España se produjo a partir de los años veinte del siglo pasado. Entre 1920 a 1936 el fútbol adquirió todos los rasgos personales que hoy le caracterizan. En esta época surgió una literatura técnica y periodística especializada que se configuró como uno de los pilares más importantes para el desarrollo técnico deportivo y del espectáculo de masas. En torno a esta cuestión, el presente artículo busca un doble objetivo: recopilar la literatura técnica y periodística especializada publicada durante el período de 1920 a 1936, y reconocer el alcance social, técnico e ideológico de esta literatura futbolística en el proceso de configuración del fútbol en España. Para abordar este propósito hemos utilizado una metodología heurística y de análisis documental de las fuentes originales. Apreciamos que a través de estas obras podemos conocer mejor el contexto del espacio socio-deportivo del fútbol en España y, también, despertar nuevas líneas potenciales de investigación.

Sobre Κρῆτες de Sófocles

En este artículo se estudia una obra atribuida a Sófocles titulada Κρῆτες (Los cretenses), una tragedia sólo conocida por dos dudosos testimonios de Hesiquio y Ateneo de Náucratis. A finales del siglo xviii una nueva lectura de ambos los adscribía a otra tragedia, con lo que se negaba la existencia de Κρῆτες. A pesar de esto, este título se sigue manteniendo en las ediciones de la obra sofoclea, ahora relacionado con nuevos hallazgos de fragmentos papiráceos del autor. Nuestro objetivo es el de analizar los testimonios en profundidad para concluir si la obra pudo o no haberse escrito.

(a) y (b) pueden responder a lo que se conoce de la tragedia de Eurípides: (a) la semejanza con una estatua; (b) la novia de Hades; (c) el silencio del personaje; (d) la colaboración con las Moiras; (e) el contraste entre la fortuna regia y la desgracia y el sufrimiento de los padres. No es, por tanto, necesario modificar el texto recibido para eliminar μάγους πάγας y la referencia a las trampas mágicas en el v. 5, que cuadra bien con Medusa y Perseo.

El primer tropiezo histórico de Bonaparte: la reconquista de Santo Domingo

El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar el primer tropiezo histórico de las tropas de Napole��n Bonaparte, en Santo Domingo, y los paralelismos entre la Guerra de Independencia española y la Reconquista dominicana. Para ello se han analizado los testimonios de los personajes implicados, con el fin de indagar el ideario que inspiró su acción militar. Además probaremos que, contra las ideas defendidas por algunos historiadores, tras la paz de Basilea los dominicanos siguieron sintiéndose ligados a España, como demostraron en la Guerra de Reconquista contra el gobierno francés. Sólo Cuba, Puerto Rico y Santo Domingo participaron de este sentimiento, mientras el resto de Hispanoamérica comenzaba a clamar por la independencia.

ERIC recommendations on TP53 mutation analysis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Recent evidence suggests that - in addition to 17p deletion - TP53 mutation is an independent prognostic factor in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Data from retrospective analyses and prospective clinical trials show that ∼5% of untreated CLL patients with treatment indication have a TP53 mutation in the absence of 17p deletion. These patients have a poor response and reduced progression-free survival and overall survival with standard treatment approaches. These data suggest that TP53 mutation testing warrants integration into current diagnostic work up of patients with CLL. There are a number of assays to detect TP53 mutations, which have respective advantages and shortcomings. Direct Sanger sequencing of exons 4-9 can be recommended as a suitable test to identify TP53 mutations for centers with limited experience with alternative screening methods. Recommendations are provided on standard operating procedures, quality control, reporting and interpretation. Patients with treatment indications should be investigated for TP53 mutations in addition to the work-up recommended by the International workshop on CLL guidelines. Patients with TP53 mutation may be considered for allogeneic stem cell transplantation in first remission. Alemtuzumab-based regimens can yield a substantial proportion of complete responses, although of short duration. Ideally, patients should be treated within clinical trials exploring new therapeutic agents.

Organización financiera para la administración de fondos de las Asociaciones de Municipios, de la Zona Paracentral a investigarse en el periodo de mayo 2012 a mayo 2013

Esta investigación está dirigida a la Administración de Fondos de los diferentes tipos de Asociatividad Municipal: Asociación Municipal, Asociación de Municipios, Asociaciones de Municipalidades y Micro-Regiones de la Zona Paracentral. Los tipos de Asociatividad Municipal a los que se hace referencia en esta investigación administran recursos y obligaciones del sector público, por tanto son sujetos de derechos, atribuciones, y deberes propios, los que en conjunto conforman el ente contable gubernamental. Para el control, organización y registro de las diferentes transacciones de estas instituciones únicamente podrá realizarse en el Sistema de Contabilidad Gubernamental de los Entes (SICGE), aplicación informática proporcionada por el Ministerio de Hacienda. Para conocer el funcionamiento del control interno institucional se realizó un estudio a través de entrevista, encuestas y observación de los procesos, con el objeto de realizar un diagnóstico situacional sobre los procedimientos de controles aplicados. El control interno institucional fomenta la seguridad razonable en las cifras, oportunidad y consistencia en la información financiera, fundamental para la toma de decisiones. Con el objeto de ayudar al fortalecimiento institucional de las mancomunadas se incluye una propuesta de procedimientos de control interno financiero contables, con sus herramientas de control ofimatizadas, dise��ados para la administración de los fondos de las Asociaciones de Municipios, que por ser entes contables, es preciso que cada mancomunidad cuente con su propio control interno financiero, que servirá para la transparencia de la gestión y la confiabilidad de la información financiera. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This research is about at the Fund Management of different types of Municipal Associativity: Municipal Association, Association of Municipalities, Associations of Municipalities and Micro-Regions Paracentral Zone. Municipal Associative types referred to in this investigation about manage resources and obligations of the public sector, so they are subjects of rights, powers, and duties, which together make up the government accounting entity. For control, organization and registration of the several transactions of these institutions may only take place in the Government Accounting System of the Entities (SICGE) for acronym is spanish, computer application provided by the Ministry of Finance. For the functioning of the institutional internal control study was conducted through interviews, surveys and observation of processes in order to conduct a situational analysis on the procedure applied control. The Constitutional internal control promotes reasonable safety in numbers, timeliness and consistency financial information, critical for taking decision. In order to help the institutional strengthening of the asocitiation municipal is included a proposed of procedures of financial-accounting internal control, with its office automatization tools, which is designed for the administration of found the Association of Municipalities (political division of several cities), who is Gubernamental accounting entity, each association must have its own financial internal control, which will serve for management transparency and reliability of financial information.

Empathy in the field: towards a taxonomy of empathic communication in information gathering interviews with suspected sex offenders

Research suggests that those suspected of sexual offending might be more willing to reveal information about their crimes if interviewers display empathic behaviour. However, the literature concerning investigative empathy is in its infancy, and so as yet is not well understood. This study explores empathy in a sample of real-life interviews conducted by police officers in England with suspected sex offenders. Using qualitative methodology, the presence and type of empathic verbal behaviours displayed was examined. Resulting categories were quantitatively analysed to investigate their occurrence overall, and across interviewer gender. We identified four distinct types of empathy, some of which were used significantly more often than others. Female interviewers displayed more empathic behaviour per se by a considerable margin.

It is a curious setting for a gothic tale, albeit the location for Michelle de Kretser’s latest work, Springtime: A Ghost Story. Bringing light to darkness this ‘black-spring’ interview with Michelle de Kretser questions Australian literary and cultural customs and environmental stereotypes. It also probes literary fashions, short form fiction, the Melbourne / Sydney cultural divide, gothic tropes, and the psychology of space. Through her discussion with interviewer Alix Watkins, de Kretser reflects on her interest in haunting, the influence of her Sri Lankan background, and the attraction of brevity following her previous epic Questions of Travel (Miles Franklin Award 2012).
