Analogy between the socio-cultural thematic of Macunaíma and the Tarsila do Amaral’s paintings: a possibility of broaden the senses of literary texts

This research seeks establishing relationships between the socio-cultural theme of Macunaíma and the some paintings by Tarsila do Amaral bringing reflections to literature teaching to suggest the seek to broaden the sense of literary texts. We will discuss the literature importance at school according to what is to predicted in the Diretrizes Curriculares de Língua Portuguesa. Research is based  on the notions of intertextuality by Bakhtin (2003),  on the postulates by Etienne Souriau (1983), on the criticism by Candido (2006) on the Reception Aesthetics, by Jauss (2002), Iser (1999) and on the writings by Bordini and Aguiar (1993).

LOGO: GRAMMATICALIZATION AND SEMANTICS IN MEDIA TEXTS

It is a fact that the study and the correct application of the rules of Portuguese grammar are necessary for the issuer to communicate adequately in most discursive genres. However this same grammar imposes certain rules that now left to be used due to historical developments that pervade any language, now began to be employed so not always equal to those advocated by the normative grammar. Wherefore to understand situations which are not justified by traditional grammar, theories that are sought to assist this understanding. The current adopted will be the Functionalism, which promotes linguistic analysis beyond established by normative grammar, it covers other aspects not considered by her. Looking enlarger the discussions about the different uses, this study is aimed at ascertaining what is mentioned by the normative and functionalists studies with respect to the word logo, traditionally defined as a coordinating conjunction conclusive. Furthermore, we seek to show the process of grammaticalization whereby the term came and expose the different semantic relations that he can express in language use. To prove this, was used everyday examples, took out from media texts, such as magazine Isto É and the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.

WRITING AND SPEECH: WHAT TEACHES US THE NON LITERARY TEXTS

Until the early twentieth century only written texts documenting the language. From the analysis of non-literary documents of the seventeenth century, we shall show how the writing reflects the facts of speech. Two sets of phenomena will be especially focused on: the graphic representation of unstressed vowels and that of sibilant fricatives (palatal and non-palatal). It is intended to alert to problems concerning the interference of speech in writing, drawing a parallel between the writing of the speaker common, off-hand that was contaminated by his standard speech and writing.  

The Aesthetics of Death: Reflections on the honorable suicide from the texts of Mishima

The objective is to show the aesthetic purpose of the life of Yukio Mishima (1925 - 1970), led the way, and the way led in parallel with his literary career. His whole life was conducted by the maxim that "the way of the samurai is death," maximum accepted as an honorable and patriotic truth. For confirmation of this thesis, whose works were selected characters are samurai like The Hagakure: The Ethics of the Samurai and Modern Japan, and the texts in which the author reflects on the Japanese theme Bushidō (Samurai Code of Ethics), as Confessions a masquerade, something autobiographical work, Sun and Steel, and the Sea of ​​Fertility tetralogy. Special attention will be devoted to the tale Patriotism, 1961, whose plot focuses almost exclusively in the ritual of seppuku (commonly known as Harakiri).

Linguistic-discursive analysis of scientific divulgation texts in the contexts of Forensic Sciences

Texts about scientific divulgation have as objective to inform about knowledge from the scientific community. To make this specific discourse, made from scientist to scientist, be understood by the general public, it is necessary do some formals and conceptual modifications in the discourse. In this paper, two texts about forensic sciences were analyzed. One text is from the magazine Ciência Hoje and the other one is from the Superinteressante. It was observed, in the Superinteressante, a major concern about the reformulation and explanation of the scientific terms used in the text. In the other hand, occurrences of authority arguments were bigger in the text from Ciência Hoje. These results are consistent with the communicative purpose of each magazine.
