Aplicações da ilustração científica em ciências biológicas

A Ilustração Científica é um trabalho que consiste na representação fiel de um material biológico determinado, respeitando-se todas as medidas, proporções e contraste de cores, mesmo que em preto e branco. Por isso, a capacidade de observação é uma qualidade indispensável para que se tenha um bom resultado. Podem ser desenhos de materiais vivos, extintos, arqueológicos e até processos cirúrgicos e devem ser claro em significado, não poluído e que não provoque nenhum tipo de incompreensão ou dúvidas. Ela é altamente utilizada no meio acadêmico tendo um vasto campo de aplicação, variando desde trabalhos mais simples e esquemáticos aos mais complexos com alto nível de acabamento e detalhamento. Independentemente à técnica, as ilustrações científicas ainda são uma ferramenta de extrema importância e de grande utilização, sendo muito solicitadas por pesquisadores, que desejam enriquecer seus trabalhos, torná-los mais explicativos, mais claros, e mais didáticos. Por mais que se tenha a possibilidade das fotografias modernas, um desenho empregando técnicas tradicionais como acabamento é totalmente indispensável, já que a foto, por mais sofisticada e cheia de recursos que possua a máquina, não consegue transmitir todos os detalhes e estruturas que se deseja em uma mesma fotografia. O artista tem a liberdade de montar uma prancha com aquilo que o pesquisador precisa, usando sua percepção visual e destreza para reproduzir com exatidão o material em questão. Recursos digitais, ao contrário do que muitos acreditam, não tiraram o espaço das técnicas tradicionais, mas veio como mais uma opção de ferramenta de trabalho que, aliás, para usá-la é necessário saber desenhar igualmente àquele que não se utiliza desse recurso. This research, theoretically founded on Corpus Linguistics and Phraseology, has the purpose of extracting and analyzing general language and specialized collocations in the medical field, taken from a parallel corpus comprised of transcriptions of the TV serial Grey’s Anatomy. Based on this extraction, it is proposed a compilation of a bilingual glossary, so that the referred material can be used by learner translators as well as English language teachers.

A crença religiosa sob a perspectiva semiótica de Peirce

Current paper presents the relationships between beliefs, specifically religious ones, and the Peirce’s theory of interpretants. It is assumed that religious belief emphasizes the emotional aspect of faithful, preventing criticism and change of habit. According to the author, the nature of cognition is contrary to the determination of this kind of belief since it is based on the method and fallibility of hypotheses. It is not enough for the method to deduce its consequences but seeks the inductive verification of their results in the long run and through the community of beings who thinks through signs. The problem of religious belief is the acceptance of a transcendent world and intuition which guides behavior. The vague idea of God is not submitted to scientific hypotheses but, engendered by religious systems, it creates signs whose emotional appeal is evident, redirecting it to its own target principles. Therefore, is repeats the success achieved in the past by dogmas, which were effective to appease the anguish of the believer and reproduce order. Knowledge should not have any boundaries because it is grounded on the method and cognition of reality.

Prova estética e funcional: uma decisão em conjunto

An important phase of rehabilitation treatment, is the aesthetic and functional testing, performed with the patient. Its relevance is because at this time it’s possible to have a very faithful preview of the final result of the prosthesis, but, if necessary, still allow changes. Therefore, the objective of this review is to describe didactically the clinical steps and factors that should be examined by the dentist at the moment of aesthetic and functional testing of a complete denture. This clinical stage basically involves four requirements to be analyzed: mechanical, functional, aesthetic and phonetic. After the jointly analysis with all the requirements, the patient must approve, preferably in writing, the completion of the prosthesis. In case of need for any changes, this is when it should be performed, followed by new aesthetic and functional testing. It should be noted that the patient’s opinion is always sovereign in deciding to end the denture.

In the present paper, the authors carry out an exploratory analysis of the market of confidential online betrayals by examining the perceptions of the issue of those Ashely Madison Site users participating in the research. The ethnographic method and a multidisciplinary approach were employed in order to understand how love and market, technology and intimacy come together, and how traditional values related to family, conjugality and masculinity articulate in the world of online betrayals. Interactions between men aged between 38 and 70 were favored in the analyses.

The way we look express our soul, so there is no way to disregard the presence of intuitive processes in the creation of any work, like say Fayga Ostrower. Based on the theories of the artist, intends to investigate how their own texts read his plastic production, heavily influenced by German Expressionism. The concernment of the research is in the approach how their publications favor the understanding of artistic making as a moment against the intuitive and the fullness of the original creation and true to the thought of the artist.

This paper discusses issues related to the relationship of the Associação Atlética Acadêmica Unesp Bauru with stakeholders, its acquired image and the construction of this image throughout its history. Through a survey of former members, deepening interviews, image search analysis with campus students in 2011 and redemption of the entity's files entity is proposed a public relations plan aimed at improving the position of Atlética strategically with the new demands of its stakeholders. Thus the work aims to analyze the image of the members based on their institutional memory and students regarding the entity and thus propose a plan that is as faithful as possible to the dualistic views of these two public, improving the processes and actions of the Association
