It is shown how correspondence analysis may be applied to a subset of response categories from a questionnaire survey, for example the subset of undecided responses or the subset of responses for a particular category. The idea is to maintain the original relative frequencies of the categories and not re-express them relative to totals within the subset, as would normally be done in a regular correspondence analysis of the subset. Furthermore, the masses and chi-square metric assigned to the data subset are the same as those in the correspondence analysis of the whole data set. This variant of the method, called Subset Correspondence Analysis, is illustrated on data from the ISSP survey on Family and Changing Gender Roles.

We construct spectral sequences in the framework of Baues-Wirsching cohomology and homology for functors between small categories and analyze particular cases including Grothendieck fibrations. We also give applications to more classical cohomology and homology theories including Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology and those studied before by Watts, Roos, Quillen and others

We prove that for a topological operad $P$ the operad of oriented cubical singular chains, $C^{\ord}_\ast(P)$, and the operad of simplicial singular chains, $S_\ast(P)$, are weakly equivalent. As a consequence, $C^{\ord}_\ast(P\nsemi\mathbb{Q})$ is formal if and only if $S_\ast(P\nsemi\mathbb{Q})$ is formal, thus linking together some formality results which are spread out in the literature. The proof is based on an acyclic models theorem for monoidal functors. We give different variants of the acyclic models theorem and apply the contravariant case to study the cohomology theories for simplicial sets defined by $R$-simplicial differential graded algebras.

Lobjectiu daquest estudi va ser analitzar un element del component tctic com a factor determinant en el rendiment del futbol, s a dir, comprovar si hi ha diferncies en lexecuci del bloc de Fonaments Individuals per Demarcaci (FID) corresponent a la defensa de lespai per la posici dels laterals en el futbol, entre les categories amateur i semi-professional. Es van enregistrar un total de 18 partits, on 9 dels quals feien referncia a lequip de lArbcies Club de Futbol i la resta a lequip de la Uni Esportiva Llagostera. Les variables estudiades van ser les segents: cobertures al central que defensa al possessor de la pilota, evitar passades interiors que guanyin lesquena, defensa individual dels jugadors que intenten passar per lesquena del segon central (entrar-sortir) i eliminar lespai de desmarcada en profunditat, mantenint la lnia amb el central. Per analitzar-les es va utilitzar el programa Longomatch i el Excel on hi vam configurar un instrument davaluaci. Els principals resultats del treball van ser que lequip de la Uni Esportiva Llagostera va fer menys errors en lexecuci dels FID, tot i que va seguir tenint errors en el compliment daquests fonaments.

It is known that, in a locally presentable category, localization exists with respect to every set of morphisms, while the statement that localization with respect to every (possibly proper) class of morphisms exists in locally presentable categories is equivalent to a large-cardinal axiom from set theory. One proves similarly, on one hand, that homotopy localization exists with respect to sets of maps in every cofibrantly generated, left proper, simplicial model category M whose underlying category is locally presentable. On the other hand, as we show in this article, the existence of localization with respect to possibly proper classes of maps in a model category M satisfying the above assumptions is implied by a large-cardinal axiom called Vopnka's principle, although we do not know if the reverse implication holds. We also show that, under the same assumptions on M, every endofunctor of M that is idempotent up to homotopy is equivalent to localization with respect to some class S of maps, and if Vopnka's principle holds then S can be chosen to be a set. There are examples showing that the latter need not be true if M is not cofibrantly generated. The above assumptions on M are satisfied by simplicial sets and symmetric spectra over simplicial sets, among many other model categories.

We describe an equivalence of categories between the category of mixed Hodge structures and a category of vector bundles on the toric complex projective plane which verify some semistability condition. We then apply this correspondence to define an invariant which generalises the notion of R-split mixed Hodge structure and compute extensions in the category of mixed Hodge structures in terms of extensions of the corresponding vector bundles. We also give a relative version of this correspondence and apply it to define stratifications of the bases of the variations of mixed Hodge structure.

This study presents a research about the participation of psicomotricist in the play with children to find out what kind of conditions improve the development of their capacitys of relathionship. The research has four parts: 1) A teoretical revision about the terms of game, social participation and relathionship; 2) A case study based on different interviews with experts, psicomotricists and the observed psicomotricist and 4 deep observations 3) The categories of analysis from the triangulation of teoretical and case study sources of information; 4) Discussion and conclusions about general actuations of the psicomotricist, about specifical actuations with the children and about psicomotricists believes.

The objective of this paper is to estimate a petrol consumption function for Spain and to evaluate the redistributive effects of petrol taxation. We use micro data from the Spanish Household Budget Survey of 1990/91 and model petrol consumption taking into account the effect that income changes may have on car ownership levels, as well as the differences that exist between expenditure and consumption. Our results show the importance that household structure, place of residence and income have on petrol consumption. We are able to compute income elasticities of petrol expenditure, both conditional and unconditional on the level of car ownership. Non-conditional elasticities, while always very close to unit values, are lower for higher income households and for those living in rural areas or small cities. When car ownership levels are taken into account, conditional elasticities are obtained that are around one half the value of the non- conditional ones, being fairly stable across income categories and city sizes. As regards the redistributive effects of petrol taxation, we observe that for the lowest income deciles the share of petrol expenditure increases with income, and thus the tax can be regarded as progressive. However, after a certain income level the tax proves to be regressive.

Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) are normally used to analyse the income generation process. They are also useful, however, for analysing the cost transmission and price formation mechanisms. For price contributions, Roland-Holst and Sancho (1995) used the SAM structure to analyse the price and cost linkages through a representation of the interdependence between activities, households and factors. This paper is a further analysis of the cost transmission mechanisms, in which I add the capital account to the endogenous components of the Roland-Holst and Sancho approach. By doing this I reflect the responses of prices to the exogenous shocks in savings and investment. I also present an additive decomposition of the global price effects into categories of interdependence that isolates the impact on price levels of shocks in the capital account. I use a 1994 Social Accounting Matrix to make an empirical application of the Catalan economy. Keywords: social accounting matrix, cost linkages, price transmission, capital account. We prove that, under suitable assumptions on a category C, the existence of supercompact cardinals implies that every absolute epireflective class of objects of C is a small-orthogonality class. More precisely, if L is a localization functor on an accessible category C such that the unit morphism XLX is an extremal epimorphism for all X, and the class of L-local objects is defined by an absolute formula with parameters, then the existence of a supercompact cardinal above the cardinalities of the parameters implies that L is a localization with respect to some set of morphisms.

La evolucin del pensamiento peirceano parece experimentar una sucesin de giros y rupturas internas, entre ellos la aparicin de la fenomenologa en el cambio de siglo, junto con la emergencia de Hegel en lugar de Kant como fuente de inspiracin. Sin embargo, si nos tomamos en serio el resultado tanto de sus investigaciones kantianas como de las hegelianas, es decir, las categoras, podemos reconocer una continuidad general dentro del pensamiento de Peirce. En lugar de una confusin de tendencias empricas y metafsicas, descubrimos una sistemtica transformacin emprica de la metafsica. -- Levoluci del pensament peirce sembla experimentar una successi de girs i ruptures internes, entre ells laparici de la fenomenologia amb el canvi de segle, juntament amb lemergncia de Hegel en lloc de Kant com a font dinspiraci. Per si ens prenem seriosament el resultat tant de les seves investigacions kantianes com de les hegelianes, aix s, les categories, podem reconixer una continutat general dins del pensament de Peirce. Enlloc duna confusi de tendncies empriques i metafsiques, descobrim una sistemtica transformaci emprica de la metafsica

Laugment del turisme experimentat des de principis dels anys 70 a lilla de Menorca (Illes Balears, Espanya) ha provocat un impacte sobre les seves platges, el seu principal atractiu turstic. Molts daquests impactes sincrementen durant la temporada alta, compresa entre els mesos de maig a octubre. Lobjectiu principal daquest projecte s lelaboraci dun sistema dindicadors de pressi ambiental tils per a lanlisi de les platges. La zona objecte destudi de la prova-pilot, correspon a les platges del sud-oest de Menorca, aquestes cales sn les que actualment es troben sotmeses a una major pressi. Es tracta de catorze platges tipificades en tres categories (A, B, C) segons les caracterstiques del tipus despai on es troben situades. Sn les platges de: Cala Degollador, Cala Blanca, Calan Bosch, Son Xoriguer, Son Saura-Es Banyul, Son Saura-Bellavista, Es Talaier, Cala Turqueta, Cala Macarelleta, Cala Macarella, Cala Galdana, Cala Mitjana, Cala Trebalger i Cala Escorxada. Partint dun treball bibliogrfic, sha realitzat una selecci de mig centenar dindicadors potencials dels quals catorze han format part dels IPAPMpp, mitjanant lelaboraci duna anlisi multicriteri. Per a cada un dels IPAPMpp sha desenvolupat una metodologia amb les corresponents fitxes individuals descriptives per al seu seguiment temporal. En aquest primer estudi, lindicador que presenta un nombre de valors no acceptables en una major proporci de platges, s lindicador 3. ndex de valoraci de les mesures de conservaci del sistema natural, seguit de lindicador 6. Superfcie subsistema sorra per usuari. El 2006, les platges de tipologia A, presenten un major percentatge positiu de les variables dels indicadors. Les platges de tipologia B i C presenten un percentatge menor dacceptabilitat dels valors dels indicadors.

We prove that the dual of a well generated triangulated category satisfies Brown representability, as long as there is a combinatorial model. This settles the major open problem in [13]. We also prove that Brown representability holds for non-dualized well generated categories, but that only amounts to the fourth known proof of the fact. The proof depends crucially on a new result of Rosicky [14].

El present projecte est orientat a investigar una tendncia cada cop ms influent dintre del panorama publicitari espanyol i internacional: la Publicitat Emocional. En els ltims anys sha constatat una important evoluci de la comunicaci publicitria, que ha anat substituent el seu carcter principalment informatiu i racional per un altre ms emocional que aposta pels sentiments del consumidor. En aquest context, es pretn demostrar la superioritat daquest enfocament publicitari a lhora destablir una relaci ms propera, fidel i duradora amb el consumidor. Per aix, la primera part del treball abordar la realitat de les marques davant les noves exigncies del mercat, mentre que la de tipus prctic sorientar a analitzar la publicitat de vuit categories dalimentaci amb lobjectiu de determinar quina tipologia publicitria preval i quina s ms efectiva per connectar amb el consumidor del s.XXI

Aquest treball pretn aprofundir en la relaci que sestableix entre el producte i la marca. En mercats hiperfragmentats, com els actuals, lextensi de lnia no s la millor opci a llarg termini. Mirem al mercat com quelcom fix quan els consumidors pensen en categories. Hem dinnovar, introduir nous productes en un altre context, crear una nova categoria a travs del marketing lateral. Lextensi de marca no s la soluci si aquesta malmet la coherncia de significats, noms esdevindr lcit estirar la marca que ja es t si el seu posicionament ho permet. Una vegada creada la nova categoria s millor introduir el producte sota una nova marca.
