Maximum-revenue tariff under Bertrand duopoly with unknown costs

This paper considers an international trade under Bertrand model with differentiated products and with unknown production costs. The home government imposes a specific import tariff per unit of imports from the foreign firm. We prove that this tariff is decreasing in the expected production costs of the foreign firm and increasing in the production costs of the home firm. Furthermore, it is increasing in the degree of product substitutability. We also show that an increase in the tariff results in both firms increasing their prices, an increase in both expected sales and expected profits for the home firm, and a decrease in both expected sales and expected profits for the foreign firm.

An approach for automated service selection and ranking using services choreography

In today’s highly competitive market, it is critical to provide customers services with a high level of configuration to answer their business needs. Knowing in advance the performance associated with a specific choreography of services (e.g., by taking into account the expected results of each component service) represents an important asset that allows businesses to provide a global service tailored to customers’ specific requests. This research work aims at advancing the state-of-the-art in this area by proposing an approach for service selection and ranking using services choreography, predicting the behavior of the services considering customers’ requirements and preferences, business process constraints and characteristics of the execution environment.

O trabalho apresenta as principais diferenças da introdução do Sistema de Normalização Contabilística (SNC) em relação ao anterior normativo – Plano Oficial de Contabilidade (POC) na área dos inventários. A pesquisa qualitativa permite analisar e desenvolver os dados recolhidos (primeira parte do trabalho). Fazendo uso de evidências empíricas é analisado, de forma quantificável, um exemplo prático (segunda parte do trabalho).
