The presence of the Aragonese language in the magazine "El Ebro" (1917-1936)

El Ebro (1917-1936) was a magazine published in Barcelona by Aragonese emigrants at the beginning of the 20th century. It was the first experience of coexistence of different dialectal varieties of the Aragonese language in the same media. El Ebro was an experience that has gone virtually unnoticed in the recent history of one of the most minority languages, and with minor media presence, of Western Europe. In its pages El Ebro mixed dialects spoken in different regions of linguistic Aragonese area together with transcripts of medieval documents. At the same time, this newspaper raised debates about the language issue that they were truncated due to disappearance of the publication and the lack of theoretical realization

Scientifi c discourses on chronic pain without organic cause Incorporating gender perspective for pain resignifyng-repoliticizing

Chronic pain, without any organic or physical cause (DC), which in psycho-medical terminology is known as fi bromyalgia, (FM), is diagnosed each year to a considerable number of women in capitalistic societies. Our main interest in the following paper is to go in depth in the elaboration of this symptom, its treatment and the psychosocial effects, both in the social order as well as in the lives of the people who suffer from it. Our main goal in the following paper is to look deeper in the elaboration (conceptualization) of this symptom, its treatment and psychological affects, both in the social order as well as in the lives of the people who suffer from it, we are using linked speeches in Spanish magazines publications. The result has been the emergence of three hegemonic discourse positions: One position ���scientist���, one ���therapeutic of the conformity��� position and one ���economic and legalistic��� position. Each of these has a specifi c feature, but on the whole, is enhanced, producing effects such as the absence of social context to explain the disease; disregard of gender differences in the management and treatment; the instrumentalization of pain to legitimize their practices and the subjection of women to the ���psycho-biomedical��� paradigm. In that way, a new signifi cance and politicization of the concept of pain is proposed.

National Cinemas and Non-Hegemonic Languages. The Invisibility of Galician Language Facing the Policies for Cultural Diversity

In the spirit of the proposals of the Agenda 2020 about the structural role of cinema in the configuration of the European identities, this article highlights the significance of the national cinemas in non-hegemonic languages in the conformation of a diverse European culture. Following this perspective, we use Galician cinema as a case study in which we analyze the presence (or more precisely the absence) of the Galician language in the original version in the feature films released between 2008 and 2012.This proposal is hosted by the I+D+I project eDCINEMA: ���Towards the European Digital Space. The role of small cinemas in original version��� (Ref. CSO2012-35784) financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain.

The origins of the foreign language press in M��laga

The settlement of foreign residents in Spain has led since the mid- nineteenth century the creation of a foreign language press in order to inform and serve as a vehicle for social cohesion in these communities. This article studies M��laga because it is one of the provinces with the highest current number of foreign language press in Spain. This research has focused on analyzing two of the first newspapers written in English at the beginning of XX century: British Colony Gazette and the English section of La Union Mercantil, Weekly English News.

Nous ��tudions dans cet article les tournures du type ����Le g��nant, c���est qu���Olivier ne sera pas seul����, lesquelles sont fr��quemment d��crites, d���un point de vue formel, comme des structures de type article/adjectif substantiv��. Apr��s avoir analys�� les propri��t��s morphosyntaxiques de notre tournure, nous montrons qu���en r��alit�� on ne saurait parler d���adjectif substantiv�� par un article, dans la mesure o�� ni l���adjectif ne devient un substantif, ni l���article ne fonctionne comme un v��ritable article. Ce dernier, en effet, peut ��tre d��fini comme un ����article-d��monstratif neutre����. Nous sommes dans cette perspective amen�� �� repenser le sch��ma de l���article de la psychom��canique du langage, et �� proposer du tenseur binaire guillaumien une vision ��largie que l���on peut repr��senter par un sch��me trimorphe.
