4-Organochalcogenoyl-1H-1,2,3-triazoles: synthesis and functionalization by a nickel-catalyzed Negishi cross-coupling reaction

A general method for the synthesis of triazoles containing selenium and tellurium was accomplished via a CuCAAC reaction between organic azides and a terminal triple bond, generated by in situ deprotection of the silyl group. The reaction tolerates alkyl and arylazides, with alkyl and aryl substituents directly bonded to the chalcogen atom. The products were readily functionalized by a nickel-catalyzed Negishi cross-coupling reaction, furnishing the aryl-heteroaryl products at the 4-position in good yields. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Tellurium in organic synthesis: a general approach to buteno- and butanolides

The naturally occurring butanolides (-)-blastmycinolactol, (+)-blastmycinone, (-)-NFX-2, (+)-anti-mycinone as well as the four stereoisomers of the butenolide Acaterin were prepared in high enantiomeric purity using hydroxy-vinyl tellurides as starting materials. Synthesis, anti-inflammatory activity and molecular docking studies of 2,5-diarylfuran amino acid derivatives

A series of 2,5-diaryl substituted furans functionalized with several amino acids were synthesized and evaluated as the cyclooxygenases COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes inhibitors. The proline-substituted compound inhibited PGE(2) secretion by LPS-stimulated neutrophils, suggesting selectivity for COX-2. Molecular docking studies in the binding site of COX-2 were performed. Novel cross-coupling reactions between organotellurides and Grignard reagents employing a MnCl2/CuI catalytic system

We present a general protocol for the cross-coupling reaction of Grignard reagents and organic tellurides. Aryl Grignard reagents react stereospecifically with vinyl tellurides in the presence of a catalytic amount of manganese (II) chloride and copper (I) iodide to produce good yields of the corresponding cross-coupling products.
