Objetivos: elegir y preparar poemas para: la identificación de expresiones adecuadas, tono, volumen y el uso de voces y otros sonidos; utilizar adjetivos para agregar detalle por escrito; experimentar con el efecto de los distintos adjetivos compartidos a través de la escritura; notar donde se ponen comas en la lectura y examinar sus funciones para ayudar al lector; utilizar el término coma adecuadamente en relación a la lectura.

Muestra a los profesores cómo pueden utilizar escribir poesía para enseñar y reforzar el vocabulario, la estructura y las partes de la oración, la puntuación, así como otras reglas de la gramática y la escritura. Para cualquier edad o nivel de fluidez, puede ser utilizado como lengua extranjera, o para maestros bilingües como un complemento a su programa de escritura. La primera parte del libro se centra en la metodología y ofrece sugerencias para la forma de integrar la poesía escrita con el plan de estudios. La segunda parte del libro contiene veinticinco modelos de poemas y muestras de poesía escritos por estudiantes de diversos idiomas y edades. The influence of ideology on the translation of Mao Zedong’s poems

Mao Zedong’s poems hold an important place in the history of Chinese literature. From the perspective of manipulation theory, the paper aims at exploring the influences that ideology exerted on the translation of Mao Zedong’s poems. These influences have manifested themselves mainly in such aspects as the organizing of translation activity, the selection of source texts, the comprehension of the texts and the freedom translators enjoy to render the poems.

Watching the words: drama and poems

Some poems are inherently dramatic due to their narrative content or the events, characters, places and emotions that are their subject. Others have the potential for dramatisation because of some aural or visual quality of their poetic form. However, if dramatising poems is to be meaningful and effective children need to be taught something about the art form of drama rather than just being left to their own devices. This chapter explores the learning potential of considering the printed text of a poem as a notation of sound, movement, gesture and use of space. The chapter recognises a progression from simple nursery rhymes to the sophisticated use of poetic language in different types of literature that is mirrored in the journey from infants’ clapping games to the dramatic juxtaposition of aural and visual images in theatre and the performing arts.
