Diese Studie verfolgt das Konzept der "Oligomer-Ansatz", die von Müllen angesprochen wurde et.al. vor etwa 10 Jahren. Der Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit war die Synthese, Charakterisierung und Anwendung von halbleitenden konjugierten heteroacenes für organische Elektronik.rnZur weiteren Entwicklung der Familie von schwefelhaltigen Pentacene, zwei Moleküle (Benzo [1,2 - b :4,5-b '] bis [b] benzodithiophene und dithieno-[2,3-d: 2', 3'-d ']-benzo-[1,2-b :4,5-b'] dithiophene)rnfacilely wurden synthetisiert und charakterisiert durch eine Kombination verschiedener Methoden. Die beiden neue Moleküle weisen hervorragende ökologische Stabilität und angewendet OFETs Geräte als p-Kanal-Material. Die Vorversuche gaben Ladungsträgerbeweglichkeiten von 0,1 cm2 V-1 s-1 undrn1,6 cm2 V-1 s-1 bzw. aus den beiden Molekülen.rnAusgelöst durch die Frage "je länger desto besser?", Eine Reihe von neuen heteroheptacenes wurden synthetisiert und intensiv im Hinblick auf ihre feste Struktur, Selbst-assenbly auf der studierte Oberfläche, opto-elektro-Eigenschaften und Eigenschaften des Orbits Grenze. Einer derrnheteroheptacene Moleküle wurden als die aktiven Kanäle in OFET Geräten angewendet. Jedoch in Trotz der mehr verlängert Konjugationslänge die Geräte auf der Basis zeigten heptacenes viel schlimmer Ladungsträgerbeweglichkeiten als die heteropentacenes. Viele Faktoren können Festlegung der endgültigen Leistung der Produkte und der chemischen Struktur ist nur einer von ihnen.rnIn dieser Hinsicht scheint es, dass es auch sinnvoll, den Einfluss der Heteroatome Studie und Alkylsubstitution auf der soliden und elektronischen Strukturen. Daher mehr heteroheptacenes wurden synthetisiert. Abwechslungsreiches in der Anzahl und Art der heteroatomare Brücke,rndiese Oligoazene ausgestellt dramatisch anders feste Struktur und opto-elektronischernEigenschaften. Darüber hinaus wurde eine kombinierte DFT Berechnung der Molekülorbitale dieser heptacenes darauf hingewiesen, dass die Einführung von Stickstoff Brücken wird die π-Orbitale zu destabilisieren, während stabilisieren den Schwefel Brücken sowohl HOMO und LUMO Energien. Dies ist wichtig, wenn man will hoch π verlängert Oligoazene synthetisieren und dabei eine angemessene Stabilität.

An excellent utility of Schmidt reaction of aldehydes to access corresponding nitriles in an instantaneous reaction is demonstrated. The reaction of aldehydes with NaN3 and TfOH furnishes the corresponding nitriles in near quantitative yields and tolerates a variety of electron-withdrawing and electron-donating substituents on the substrates. Formanilides, a common side product in Schmidt reaction, is not observed in this reaction. Besides these advantages, the salient feature of this reaction is that it exhibits a remarkable chemoselectivity, as acid and ketone functionalities are well tolerated under the reaction conditions. The reaction is easily scalable, high yielding, and nearly instantaneous.

In this Letter, an unambiguous synthetic strategy is reported for the preparation of enantiomerically purecis-5-halo-piperazic acid derivatives in single diastereoisomer form. Contrary to the recent report by Shin and co-workers (Chem. Lett. 2001, 1172), in which it is claimed that the Ph3P and N-chlorosuccinimide (NCS)-mediated chlorination of (3R,5S)-trans-N(1),N(2)-di-t-Boc-5-hydroxy-piperazic acid derivative 1proceeds with retention of configuration at C(5) to give 2, we now show that this and related Ph3P-mediated halogenations all occur with SN2 inversion at the alcohol center, as is customary for such reactions. Specifically, we demonstrate that the (3R,5S)-trans-5-Cl-piperazic acid derivative 2 claimed by Shin and co-workers (Chem. Lett. 2001, 1172) is in actual fact the chlorinated (3S,5R)-enantiomer 6, which must have been prepared from the cis-(3S,5S)-alcohol 3, a molecule whose synthesis is not formally described in the Shin paper. We further show here that the cis-(3R,5R)-5-Cl-Piz 13 claimed by Shin and co-workers inChem. Lett. 2001, 1172, is also (3S,5R)-trans-5-Cl-Piz 6. Authentic 13 has now been synthesized by us, for the very first time, here. Since Lindsley and Kennedy have recently utilized the now invalid Shin and co-workers’ retentive Ph3P/NCS chlorination procedure on 1 in their synthetic approach to piperazimycin A (Tetrahedron Lett. 2010, 51, 2493), it follows that their claimed 5-Cl-Piz-containing dipeptide 25 probably has the alternate structure 26, where the 5-Cl-Piz residue has a 3,5-cis-configuration. The aforementioned stereochemical misassignments appear to have come from a mix-up of starting materials by Shin and co-workers (Chem. Lett. 2001, 1172), and an under-appreciation of the various steric and conformational effects that operate in N(2)-acylated piperazic acid systems, most especially rotameric A1,3-strain. The latter has now been unambiguously delineated and defined here under the banner of the A1,3-rotamer effect.

The reaction of (p-MeOC6H4)2TeO with two equivalents of HO3SCF3 and HO2PPh2 provided the tetraorganoditelluroxanes (F3CSO3)(p-MeOC6H4)2TeOTe(p-MeOC6H4)2(O3SCF3) (1) and (Ph2PO2)(p-MeOC6H4)2TeOTe(p-MeOC6H4)2(O2PPh2)·2 Ph2PO2H (2) in good yields. Compounds 1 and 2 were characterized by solution and solid-state 31P and 125Te NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, electrospray mass spectrometry, conductivity measurements and single crystal X-ray diffraction. In solution, compound 1 undergoes an electrolytic dissociation and reversibly reacts with traces of water to give the mononuclear cation [(p-MeOC6H4)2TeOH]+ and triflate anions. Theoretical aspects of the protonation and hydration of model telluroxanes R2TeO (R = H, Me, Ph) were investigated by preliminary DFT calculations and compared to the corresponding selenoxanes R2SeO. The tellurium dihydroxides R2Te(OH)2 seem to be more stable than the hydrogen-bonded complexes R2TeO·H2O.

Knowledge of ion exchange and transport behavior in electrolyte materials is crucial for designing and developing novel electrolytes for electrochemical device applications such as fuel cells or batteries. In the present study, we show that, upon the addition of triflic acid (HTf) to the guanidinium triflate (GTf) solid-state matrix, several orders of magnitude enhancement in the proton conductivity can be achieved. The static 1H and 19F solid-state NMR results show that the addition of HTf has no apparent effect on local molecular mobility of the GTf matrix at room temperature. At higher temperatures, however, the HTf exhibits fast ion exchange with the GTf matrix. The exchange rate, as quantified by our continuum T2 fitting analysis, increases with increasing temperature. The activation energy for the chemical exchange process was estimated to be 58.4 kJ/mol. It is anticipated that the solid-state NMR techniques used in this study may be also applied to other organic solid-state electrolyte systems to investigate their ion-exchange processes.

In acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), the typical t(15;17) and the rare t(11;17) translocations express, respectively, the PML/RARα and PLZF/RARα fusion proteins (where RARα is retinoic acid receptor α). Herein, we demonstrate that the PLZF and PML proteins interact with each other and colocalize onto nuclear bodies (NBs). Furthermore, induction of PML expression by interferons leads to a recruitment of PLZF onto NBs without increase in the levels of the PLZF protein. PML/RARα and PLZF/RARα localize to the same microspeckled nuclear domains that appear to be common targets for the two fusion proteins in APL. Although PLZF/RARα does not affect the localization of PML, PML/RARα delocalizes the endogenous PLZF protein in t(15;17)-positive NB4 cells, pointing to a hierarchy in the nuclear targeting of these proteins. Thus, our results unify the molecular pathogenesis of APL with at least two different RARα gene translocations and stress the importance of alterations of PLZF and RARα nuclear localizations in this disease.

In the title co-crystalline adduct of the drug Dapsone with 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid, C~12~H~12~N~2~O~2~S . C~7~H~4~N~4~O~6~, the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings of the Dapsone molecule is 75.4(2)deg. and those between these rings and that of the 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid are 64.5(2) and 68.4(2)deg. A strong inter-species carboxylic acid O-H---N(amine) hydrogen-bond is found, which together with intermolecular amine N-H...O hydrogen-bonding associations with carboxyl, nitro and sulfone O-atom acceptors as well as weak pi-pi interactions between one of the Dapsone phenyl rings and the 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid ring [minimum ring centroid separation 3.774(2)Ang.], give a two-dimensional network structure.

This article describes the results of the preparation and characterization of self-doped conducting copolymers of aniline and toluidine with m-aminobenzene sulfonic acid. The copolymers have an intrinsic acid group that is capable of doping polyaniline. Spectroscopic, morphological, and electrical conductivity studies have provided insight into the structural and electronic properties of the copolymers. The differences in the properties of polyaniline and polytoluidine due to the sulfonic acid ring substituent on the phenyl ring are discussed. The scanning electron micrographs of the copolymers reveal regions of sharp-edged, needle-shaped structures, whereas the X-ray diffraction patterns show that the copolymers are relatively more crystalline in nature. A rapid, metal-free and solvent-free (very low loading of solvent in few cases) reaction conditions for synthesizing thioamides and amides using a Bronsted super acid such as triflic acid has been developed. This method shows a broad substrate scope with a variety of electron-rich arenes including thiophene derivatives. The reaction works well for both aromatic as well as aliphatic isothiocyanates. Most of the thioamides are obtained in excellent yields in short reaction times and in most of the examples, a simple work up procedure has been developed which does not require further purification.

High proton conductivity has been achieved in the high temperature plastic crystal phase of pentaglycerine when doped with strong acids, including trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (triflic acid) and methanesulfonic acid. The solid–solid phase transition from the ordered to plastic phase in this material occurs at 86 °C and conductivities of 10− 3 S/cm were measured in the high temperature plastic phase on the addition of 1 mol% triflic acid. In the case of methanesulfonic acid, the conductivities showed a greater dependence on acid concentration and were lower than for triflic acid, as expected on the basis of acid strengths. Electrochemical characterisation shows a clear hydrogen reduction process indicating that the proton is the mobile species in the plastic phase.

Steroide sind im Organismus weit verbreitete, vielfältig substituierte Naturstoffe mit einem breiten biologischen Wirkungsspektrum. C/D-cis-verknüpfte Steroide kommen in der Natur zwar selten vor, sie sind aber in ihrer pharmakologischen Aktivität nicht weniger interessant. Total- bzw. Partialsynthesen sind bisher in der Literatur kaum beschrieben worden. Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit grundlegenden Reaktionen zur enantioselektiven Synthese eines 13,14-cis-verknüpften Steroids. Als Fernziel wurde C/D-cis-verknüpftes Östradiol ausgewählt mit der Option, das Substitutionsmuster dieses Steroids vielfältig variieren zu können. Der Syntheseplan beinhaltet zunächst den Aufbau des Kohlenstoffgerüsts im Sinne einer konvergenten Synthese, abschließende Cyclisierungen sollten dann das vollständige Molekül ergeben. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde zunächst das C/D-Ringfragment als Allylamin hergestellt. Das Amin ist dabei als chirales Auxiliar ausgelegt. Als A,B-Ringfragment wurden eine Reihe 4-Aryl-2,3-ungesättigte Carbonsäurefluoride synthetisiert. Im Verknüpfungsschritt, einer zwitterionischen Aza-Claisen-Umlagerung, konnten nun beide Fragmente mit hoher simpler, aber mäßiger induzierter Diastereoselektivität gekuppelt werden. Das Entfernen der Doppelbindung im Produkt erwies sich als erhebliche Hürde, die jedoch durch die Verwendung eines Enolethers genommen werden konnte. Das im Rahmen der Arbeit hergestellte Material sollte nun in wenigen Stufen zum C/D- cis-verknüpften Steroid umgesetzt werden können.

Reactivity switching and selective activation of C-1 or C-3 in 2,3-unsaturated thioglycosides, namely, 2,3-dideoxy-1-thio-D-hex-2-enopyranosides are reported. The reactivity switching allowed activation of either C-1 or C-3, with the use of either N-iodosuccinimide (NIS)/triflic acid (TfOH) or TfOH alone. C-1 glycosylation with alcohol acceptors occurred in the presence of NIS/TfOH, without the acceptors reacting at C-3. On the other hand, reaction of 2,3-unsaturated thioglycosides with alcohols mediated by triflic acid led to transposition of C-1 ethylthio-moiety to C-3 intramolecularly, to form 3-ethylthio-glycals. Resulting glycals underwent glycosylation with alcohols to afford 3-ethylthio-2-deoxy glycosides. However, when thiol was used as an acceptor, only a stereoselective addition at C-3 resulted, so as to form C-1, C-3 dithio-substituted 2-deoxypyranosides. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. A formal total synthesis of the marine macrolide iriomoteolide3a is described. Salient features of the synthesis include the elaboration of a -keto phosphonate derived from D-(-)-tartaric acid and the extension of a chiral butyrolactone derived from L-glutamic acid. Ring-closing metathesis is employed to construct the macrolactone core of the natural product.

Friedel-Crafts arylation of a-hydroxy ketones such as 2-hydroxy- 1,2,2-triarylethanones has been achieved with a variety of arenes and heteroarenes in the presence of Lewis or Bronsted acids. Both sterically hindered and unhindered 1,2,2,2-tetrarylethanones are formed in good to excellent yields by using a stoichiometric amount of triflic acid. The intermediacy of an a-keto carbenium ion has been proposed.
