The democratic management is a challenge for education, on the one hand for its actualization needs a link between the government and the educational institution. From that, research aims to understand the main challenges faced by the school administration to consolidate the management of public schools in Natal/RN. Against this context the methodology used was multiple cases, qualitative approach in which respondent were manager (director, deputy director and coordinator) of the four municipal schools and two representatives of the Democratic Management Commission of a Government departament of Education, Natal/RN. The analysis was made by peers, between schools that had grade superior IDEB that average stipulated by the federal government and two that had grade lower and between managers and representatives of the Secretary. Were used techniques of categorization and content analysis of the speeches of respondents. Was note that managers understand the importance of the participation about whole community in the democratic management, however only one school highlighted means of attracting the parents against to the difficulty of representing these. The lack of knowledge about the democratic management is evident mainly in the pair of schools with lower IDEB. That schools with a lower IDEB adhere to this management as a way to meet rules. So unanimous, the broad role of director hampers knowledge about the legislation. About relationship of the Government department with managers, there are some contradictions between the understanding of the role of the coordinator by managers and representatives of the Government department. It was perceptible the no uniformity about a good relationship between managers and Government department. It was notable features of democratic management in all school units, well as the efforts of the Government department in this scope. However there are also undemocratic features that deserve further study

Cost implications related to the physical resources such as land and building in organisation is significant. Management entity of government or private sectors has often ignored the importance and the contribution gained from the physical resources towards their organisation. This source is a precious asset that can generate income if properly managed. This paper aims to explore the current trends in space management internationally, both from the government and private sector perspectives. A case study is conducted to study the level of effectiveness of space management in one of the government institutions in Malaysia. The findings from the case study will be compared with the current international trend of space management. The study will enrich the current understanding of space management in government properties, as well as to compare the level of space management effectiveness of government properties in Malaysia with the international trends and proposed suggestions to improve current practices of space management of Malaysian government’s properties. A pesquisa objetivou investigar a formação dos conselheiros escolares nas Escolas Municipais de Duque de Caxias a partir da adesão do Município ao Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento dos Conselhos Escolares, coordenado pela Secretaria de Educação Básica do Ministério da Educação. Como o exame das ações do Programa e a identificação das mesmas no referido município perpassam pelos níveis macro, meso e micro do sistema educacional, a metodologia constituiu-se de pesquisa bibliográfica, análise de documentos, construção e retrospectiva histórica em torno do princípio da gestão democrática e dos conselhos escolares; de entrevistas no MEC, na Secretaria Municipal de Educação, com os diretores de duas escolas da rede de ensino e grupo focal com o Conselho Escolar, além da observação nas escolas. Tendo como base o princípio da democracia e a construção da prática democrática nas escolas, por meio da gestão, percebem-se os conselhos escolares como segmentos representativos, tanto da possibilidade de transformação como de manutenção dos processos que envolvem a transparência, a autonomia e a participação da comunidade escolar na gestão das escolas. A verificação das ações de um Programa governamental em escala nacional, envolvendo a colaboração entre os entes federados, permite desmistificar o distanciamento entre as esferas dos sistemas de ensino neste processo que envolve a capacitação dos conselheiros escolares. A pesquisa revelou que, embora o Município de Duque de Caxias tenha aderido ao Programa, ainda não promoveu ações no sentido de formação de seus Conselheiros Escolares. Não obstante, uma das escolas observadas no estudo promove uma dinâmica articulada, em seu funcionamento, no que se refere à participação da comunidade escolar e local na gestão da escola

Nesta pesquisa procuramos avaliar a repercussão do Projeto e se os princípios da gestão democrática estão de fato sendo colocado em prática e identificar como os gestores que concluíram a especialização em Gestão Pública, através Programa de Capacitação a Distância para Gestores Escolares (PROGESTÃO), no Rio de Janeiro, estão fazendo uso de conceitos trabalhados em curso, tais como o processo de democratização e de socialização e a gestão democrática. Utilizando entrevistas estruturadas foram analisados os discursos produzidos pelos entrevistados: diretores, coordenador e tutor com o objetivo de avaliar a repercussão do Progestão e se os princípios da gestão democrática estão de fato sendo postos em prática. Abordamos a questão da gestão democrática no atual contexto educacional e os fundamentos conceituais e políticos para a formação de gestores escolares Progestão. Consideramos que os processos de formação de gestores precisam ser consolidados para que enfim a atitude democrática possa ser adotada no trabalho realizado no interior da escola. Acreditamos também que outros estudos que versem sobre os assuntos tratados nesta dissertação sejam realizados, pois existem os conflitos (nem sempre admitidos) entre o conservadorismo administrativo com cunho empresarial e a gestão democrática entre os gestores.
