Motion for change of venue in the case of the Inhabitants of Massachusetts Bay Colony v. Charles Paxton, October 1761

A motion that the case not be tried in Suffolk County, on the grounds that the judges and jurors were residents of the colony. Pratt was attorney to Paxton, an attorney and commissioner of customs, who had incurred a debt to the Colony.

Correspondence from Tyng, who resided in Newburyport and Boston, to Congressman George Thacher of Maine, touching on a variety of political topics such as the judiciary act of 1789, the make-up of the United States Supreme Court, and the judges of the Massachusetts court system.

A lawyer's commonplace book of New Hampshire cases. Contains summaries of cases covering such topics as trespass, witnesses, injuries, bailbonds, and counterfeit money. Possibly kept by Jonathan Sewell.

Records, 1790-1805

Contains a variety of material relating to cases before the courts of common pleas in Kent, New Castle, and Sussex counties. One file deals exclusively with cases regarding slaves. Most likely kept by Rodney but some materials attributed to Wilson's Red Book.

Observations on the courts of law in Nova Scotia, Canada, 1775

Contains a discussion of the organization of the courts in Nova Scotia and recommends changes to allow for greater efficiency and logical administration of cases through the system of justice.

Stoughton's bond for forty pounds to the constable of Dorchester, Massachusetts, guaranteeing the appearance of Daniel Elders at court. Elders was the defendant in a suit brought by Mitchel Bacon of Woburn against Daniel Elders of Dorchester.
