Hersai porphyry copper deposit(PCD) of eastern junggar, newly discovered copper deposit, is located at the eastern segment of the Xiemisitai-Kulankazigan-Zhifang-Qiongheba Paleozoic island arc, Eastern Junggar. The Hersai PCD is developed in a intrusive complex, characterized by intensive and multiform hydrothermal alteration, including potassic alteration, silification, chloritization, sericitization, kaolinitization and carbonatization. Granodiorite, grandiorite porphyry, granite and concealed explosion breccia are hosts of the ore bodies containing veinlet and disseminated ore. Ore-bearing granite (ZK107-1-9), granodiorite (ZK107-1-9) and Ore-barren granodiorite (HES2-1) are selected to date zircon U-Pb age by SHRIMP method, and have an age of 429.4±6.4Ma ,413.0±3.4Ma and 411.1±4.8Ma, respectively, showing that they were emplaced from Late Silurian to Early Devonian. In addition, sample ZK107-1-9 has some hydrothermal zircons with a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 404.9±3.7Ma which is interpreted to be related to the granodiorite porphyry. Re-Os dating of five molybdenite samples yielded a weighted average model age of 408.0±2.9Ma, indicating the metallogenic epoch of the Hersai PCD. The ore-forming age is close to the petrogenic time of garnodiorite (411-413Ma), this suggests the ore-forming porphyry is most possiblely granodiorite porphyry. Systematic major - trace elements and Rb-Sr-Sm-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic characteristics were studied. Analysis results show that these intrusives have some interesting and special characteristics, as following:1) containing both calc-alkaline rocks and high potassium calc-alkaline rocks ; 2) have some characteristics of adakite, but not totally, such as much lower La/Yb ratios and no Eu anomaly or just faint Eu anomaly; 3) have an initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios(0.703852-0.704565) similar to that of BSE, positive εNd(t) values between 6.1 and 7.4, the initial 206Pb/204Pb values (17.576-17.912), 207Pb/204Pb values (15.400-15.453) , 208Pb/204Pb values (37.252-37.466) , and high εHf(t) values (10.2-15.4) close to the value of depleted mantle. These geochemical features suggest that these igneous rocks in the Hersai area not only have some characteristics of island arc, but also some characteristics that only appear in the continental margin arc. It is suggested that Hersai PCD is formed in the subduction setting by the partial melting of young crust. These works and advancements mentioned in the paper are helpful to understand the deposit geology, geochemistry and metallogenesis of Hersai PCD. It is also significant to understand mineralization and tectonic setting in the Qiongheba area.

Flip chip interconnections using anisotropic conductive film (ACF) are now a very attractive technique for electronic packaging assembly. Although ACF is environmentally friendly, many factors may influence the reliability of the final ACF joint. External mechanical loading is one of these factors. Finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out to understand the effect of mechanical loading on the ACF joint. A 3-dimensional model of adhesively bonded flip chip assembly was built and simulations were performed for the 3-point bending test. The results show that the stress at its highest value at the corners, where the chip and ACF were connected together. The ACF thickness was increased at these corner regions. It was found that higher mechanical loading results in higher stress that causes a greater gap between the chip and the substrate at the corner position. Experimental work was also carried out to study the electrical reliability of the ACF joint with the applied bending load. As per the prediction from FEA, it was found that at first the corner joint failed. Successive open joints from the corner towards the middle were also noticed with the increase of the applied load.

This paper analyses multivariate statistical techniques for identifying and isolating abnormal process behaviour. These techniques include contribution charts and variable reconstructions that relate to the application of principal component analysis (PCA). The analysis reveals firstly that contribution charts produce variable contributions which are linearly dependent and may lead to an incorrect diagnosis, if the number of principal components retained is close to the number of recorded process variables. The analysis secondly yields that variable reconstruction affects the geometry of the PCA decomposition. The paper further introduces an improved variable reconstruction method for identifying multiple sensor and process faults and for isolating their influence upon the recorded process variables. It is shown that this can accommodate the effect of reconstruction, i.e. changes in the covariance matrix of the sensor readings and correctly re-defining the PCA-based monitoring statistics and their confidence limits. Effective collision strengths for forbidden transitions among the five energetically lowest fine-structure levels of O ii are calculated in the Breit-Pauli approximation using the R-matrix method. Results are presented for the electron temperature range 100-100 000 K. The accuracy of the calculations is evaluated via the use of different types of radial orbital sets and a different configuration expansion basis for the target wavefunctions. A detailed assessment of previous available data is given, and erroneous results are highlighted. Our results reconfirm the validity of the original Seaton and Osterbrock scaling for the optical O ii ratio, a matter of some recent controversy. Finally, we present plasma diagnostic diagrams using the best collision strengths and transition probabilities.

From perspective of structure synthesis, certain special geometric constraints, such as joint axes intersecting at one point or perpendicular to each other, are necessary in realizing the end-effector motion of kinematically decoupled parallel manipulators (PMs) along individual motion axes. These requirements are difficult to achieve in the actual system due to assembly errors and manufacturing tolerances. Those errors that violate the geometric constraint requirements are termed “constraint errors”. The constraint errors usually are more troublesome than other manipulator errors because the decoupled motion characteristics of the manipulator may no longer exist and the decoupled kinematic models will be rendered useless due to these constraint errors. Therefore, identification and prevention of these constraint errors in initial design and manufacturing stage are of great significance. In this article, three basic types of constraint errors are identified, and an approach to evaluate the effects of constraint errors on decoupling characteristics of PMs is proposed. This approach is illustrated by a 6-DOF PM with decoupled translation and rotation. The results show that the proposed evaluation method is effective to guide design and assembly.
