SiOx films with oxygen concentrations ranging 13-46 at.% were deposited by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) technique using: pure SiH4 and N2O mixture. Erbium was then implanted at an energy of 500 KeV with dose of 2x10(15) ions/cm(2). The samples were subsequently annealed in N-2 for 20 sec at temperatures of (300-950 degrees C). Room temperature (RT) photo-luminescence (PL) data were collected by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIS) with an argon laser at a wavelength of 514.5 nm and an output power from 5 to 2500 mw. The intense room-temperature luminescence was observed around 1.54 mu m. The luminescence intensity increases by 2 orders of magnitude as compared with that of Er-doped Czochralski (CZ) Si. We found that the Er3+ luminescence depends strongly on the SiOx microstructure. Our experiment also showed that the silicon grain radius decreased with increasing oxygen content and finally formed micro-crystalline silicon or nano-crystalline silicon. As a result, these silicon small particles could facilitate the energy transfer to Er3+ and thus enhanced the photoluminescence intensity.

A series of systematic experiments on the growth of high quality GaNAs strained layers on GaAs (001) substrate have been carried out by using DC active Nz plasma, assisted molecular beam epitaxy. The samples of GaNAs between 3 and 200 nm thick were evaluated by double crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. PL and XRD measurements for these samples are in good agreement. Some material growth and structure parameters affecting the properties of GaNAs/GaAs heterostructure were studied; they were: (1) growth temperature of GaNAs epilayer; (2) electrical current of active N-2 plasma; (3) Nz flow rate; (4) GaNAs growth rate; (5) the thickness of GaNAs strained layer. XRD and PL measurements showed that superlattice with distinct satellite peaks up to two orders and quantum well structure with intensity at 22 meV Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FWHM) can be achieved in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system. 摘要: In order to improve the total-dose radiation hardness of the buried oxide of separation by implanted oxygen silicon-on-insulator wafers, nitrogen ions were implanted into the buried oxide with a dose of 10(16)cm(-2), and subsequent annealing was performed at 1100 degrees C. The effect of annealing time on the radiation hardness of the nitrogen implanted wafers has been studied by the high frequency capacitance-voltage technique. The results suggest that the improvement of the radiation hardness of the wafers can be achieved through a shorter time annealing after nitrogen implantation. The nitrogen-implanted sample with the shortest annealing time 0.5 h shows the highest tolerance to total-dose radiation. In particular, for the 1.0 and 1.5 h annealing samples, both total dose responses were unusual. After 300-krad(Si) irradiation, both the shifts of capacitance-voltage curve reached a maximum, respectively, and then decreased with increasing total dose. In addition, the wafers were analysed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy technique, and some useful results have been obtained.

We have achieved in-situ Si incorporation into cubic boron nitride (c-BN) thin films during ion beam assisted deposition. The effects of silicon incorporation on the composition, structure and electric conductivity of c-BN thin films were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electrical measurements. The results suggest that the content of the cubic phase remains stable on the whole with the incorporation of Si up to a concentration of 3.3 at.%, and the higher Si concentrations lead to a gradual change from c-BN to hexagonal boron nitride. It is found that the introduced Si atoms only replace B atoms and combine with N atoms to form Si-N bonds, and no evidence of the existence of Si-B bonds is observed. The resistance of the Si-doped c-BN films gradually decreases with increasing Si concentration, and the resistivity of the c-BN film with 3.3 at.% Si is lowered by two orders of magnitude as compared to undoped samples.

Cyclodextrins can be subjected to diverse modifications to give a wide variety of cyclodextrin derivatives, which could not only extend their original molecular binding ability, but also alter their molecular selectivity. Therefore, cyclodextrin chemistry is currently a significant topic in supramolecular chemistry. The more open secondary hydroxyl side of CDs is stated to be catalytically very important, modifications of this face are believed to produce valuable derivatives for catalysis, enzyme mimic, chiral discrimination, etc. Mono-6-O-(substituted benzoyl)-β-CDs as novel supramolecular photosensitizing hosts have recently excited considerable attention in photochirogenesis. The supramolecular photosenstization of cis-cyclooctene mediated by them gave chiral trans-cyclooctene, enantiomeric excess of which was critically affected by the substituent introduced to the sensitizer moiety. In order to enhance the photoenantiodifferentiating ability, and elucidate the origin mechanisms of substituent-dependent enantioselectivity, in this work a series of mono-6-O-(substituted benzoyl)-β-CDs have been synthesized, and applied for enantiodifferentiating photoisomerization of cis-cyclooctene. The major contents are as follows: 1. The general aspects of supramolecular chemistry were descibed briefly. The new progress and important achievements on methods of selective modification of cyclodextrin and supramolecular enantiodifferentiating photoisomerization of cis-cyclooctene were reviewed. 2. Twelve mono-6-O-(substituted benzoyl)-β-CDs including ten novel compounds have been synthesized. Their structures have been characterized by using UV-vis, IR, NMR and MS methods. 3. A new convenient strategy for direct acylation of β-cyclodextrin on the secondary hydroxyl face was achieved by using the combination of N-benzoylimidazole and carbonate buffer in DMF, and the acyl migration between the C-2 and C-3 hydroxyl groups of β-cyclodextrin was found. 4. Experiments using mono-6-O-(substituted benzoyl)-β-CDs as chiral sensitizing hosts for mediating the enantiodifferentiating photoisomerization of cis-cyclooctene, were carried out. The results indicate that enantiomeric excess was critically affected, or even switched in sign, by the substituent introduced to the sensitizer moiety, and polarity of solvent. Using mono-6-O-(3-methoxybenzoyl)-β-CD as chiral sensitizing host, (R)-trans-cyclooctene was obtained in up to 45.8% enantiomeric excess, which is the highest value ever reported for supramolecular photochirogenesis with analogous hosts. 5. The conformational variation of these modified CDs and their complexation behaviors with cis-cyclooctene were examined by circular dichroism spectroscopy in water-methanol mixed solvents, which reveal that the orientation of chromophore was highly sensitive to the type, position and length of the introduced substituents. In the end, the complex stability constants(Ks) were calculated, and the mechanisms of reaction were discussed. Maybe, electronic effects are more important than positions of substituents for mediating the enantiodifferentiating photoisomerization of cis-cyclooctene.

Single-crystalline spinel (MgAl2O4) specimens were implanted with helium ions of 100 keV at three successively increasing fluences of (0.5, 2.0 and 8.0) x 10(16) ions/cm(2) at room temperature. The specimens were subsequently annealed in vacuum at different temperatures ranging from 500 to 1100 degrees C. Different techniques, including Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to investigate the specimens, It was found that the absorbance peak in the FTIR due to the stretching vibration of the Al-O bond shifts to smaller wave numbers with increasing fluence, shifting back to larger wave numbers with an increase of annealing temperature. The absorbance peak shift has a linear relationship with the fluence increase in the as-implanted state, while it does not have a linear relationship with the fluence increase after the annealing process. Surface deformation occurred in the specimens implanted with fluences of 2.0 and 8.0 x 10(16) ions/cm(2) in the annealing process. The phenomena described above can be attributed to differences in defect formation in the specimens. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Single crystals of 6H-SiC were implanted at 600 K with 100 key He ions to three successively fluences and subsequently annealed at different temperatures ranging from 873 to 1473 K in vacuum. The recovery of lattice damage was investigated by different techniques including Rutherford backscattering spectrometry in channeling geometry, Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. All three techniques showed that the damage induced by helium ion implantation in the lattice is closely related to the fluence. Rutherford backscattering spectrometry/channeling data on high temperature implantations suggest that for a fluence of 3 x 10(16) He+/cm(2), extended defects are created by thermal annealing to 1473 K. Apart from a well-known intensity decrease of scattering peaks in Raman spectroscopy it was found that the absorbance peak in Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy due to the stretching vibration of Si-C bond shifted to smaller wave numbers with increasing fluence, shifting back to larger wave numbers with increasing annealing temperature. These phenomena are attributed to different lattice damage behavior induced by the hot implantation process, in which simultaneous recovery was prevailing. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Black Pearls 2000 (designated as BP- 2000) and Vulcan XC-72 (designated as XC-72) carbon blacks were chosen as supports to prepare 40 wt % (the targeted value) Pt/C catalysts by a modified polyol process. The carbon blacks were characterized by N-2 adsorption and Fourier tranform infrared spectroscopy. The prepared catalysts were characterized by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), in situ cyclic voltammetry, and current-voltage curves. On BP- 2000, Pt nanoparticles were larger in size and more unevenly distributed than on XC-72. It was observed by SEM that the corresponding catalyst layer on BP- 2000 was thicker than that of XC-72 based catalyst at almost the identical catalyst loading. And the BP- 2000 supported catalyst gave a better single cell performance at high current densities. These results suggest that the performance improvement is due to the enhanced oxygen diffusion and water removal capability when BP- 2000 is used as cathode catalyst support. We describe here the chemical synthesis and in vitro drug delivery response of polyethylene glycol (PEG)-functionalized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles, which were activated with a stable ligand, folic acid, and conjugated with an anticancer drug, doxorubicin. The functionalization and conjugation steps in the chemical synthesis were confirmed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The drug-release behavior of PEG-functionalized and folic acid-doxorubicin-conjugated magnetic nanoparticles was characterized by two stages involving an initial rapid release, followed by a controlled release.
