O presente documento reflete o percurso do desenho e do desenvolvimento de um projeto de Educao e Interveno Social num Lar de idosos. Com base numa metodologia de Investigao-Ao Participativa, que privilegia os discursos, percees e vivncias dos atores sociais que integram esta realidade, procurou-se identificar os problemas e as necessidades. O conhecimento coconstrudo com os idosos e profissionais da instituio permitiram a conceo e desenvolvimento do projeto Envelhecer: ser e estar que assentou, essencialmente, nas necessidades de (re) ativar e fortalecer as relaes interpessoais, fomentar momentos de partilha, convvio, dilogo, discusso, negociao e participao, bem como, na urgncia de envolver as pessoas na organizao e ocupao do seu tempo livre promovendo a participao, o convvio e o lazer entre os idosos. Sendo um projeto das pessoas e com as pessoas, foram pensadas e planeadas aes e atividades que dessem resposta aos objetivos a que o projeto se propunha na tentativa de transformar e mudar os problemas e necessidades identificados pelos participantes. O projeto possibilitou, desta forma, iniciar um processo que permitiu fortalecer as relaes entre os idosos, bem como envolv-los na organizao e participao das atividades do seu tempo livre, resultando num processo de transformao pessoal, grupal e institucional de permanente e contnua construo

This communication aims to present some reflections regarding the importance of information in organizational context, especially in business context. The ability to produce and to share expertise and knowledge among its employees is now a key factor in the success of any organization. However, its also true that workers are increasingly feeling that too much information can hurt their performance. The existence of skilled professionals able to organize, evaluate, select and disseminate information in organizations appears to be a prerequisite for success. The skills necessary for the formation of a professional devoted to the management of information and knowledge in the context of business organizations will be analysed. Then data collected in two focus group discussion with students from a graduate course in Business Information, from Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal, a will be examined.

O e-mail atualmente a principal forma de comunicao das organizaes. A informao existente nos e-mails representa uma elevada dimenso do capital no tangvel das empresas, o Conhecimento. Na realidade, a gesto do e-mail dentro da organizao realizada por cada colaborador individualmente. Contudo, e tendo em conta o volume de informao criada, a forma como o e-mail gerido levanta algumas questes. O objetivo geral deste estudo conhecer como feita a gesto de e-mail nos Servios do Instituto Politcnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC), analisando a forma de utilizao do e-mail, de modo a obter elementos que permitam desenvolver normas/orientaes para melhoria desta gesto. A metodologia utilizada para a elaborao deste trabalho de investigao recaiu sobre o Mtodo Quadripolar, atravs do estudo de caso, para analisar a gesto do e-mail nos Servios do IPVC. Foi elaborado um inqurito por questionrio numa primeira fase, dirigido a todas as Instituies Pblicas de Ensino Superior em Portugal sobre a existncia de politicas de gesto de e-mail e, posteriormente, um questionrio dirigido a todos os funcionrios de todos os Servios do IPVC no sentido de perceber de que forma se lida com o e-mail e com a sua gesto no contexto laboral de uma organizao. A anlise de dados foi efetuada atravs do estabelecimento da relao/associao entre variveis com recurso estatstica descritiva. Os resultados demonstram que ainda h um longo caminho a percorrer uma vez que ainda no h uma consciencializao permanente para a importncia do e-mail, bem como da sua gesto, no sentido de conseguir recuperar a informao de uma forma clere e garantir a preservao do e-mail a longo prazo.
ISO 9001:2015, Uma Oportunidade para o Reajustamento das Empresas no Sector Metalrgico Metalomecnico

O pretexto da implementao de um Sistema de Gesto da Qualidade numa empresa de produo de fundos copados, constitui pretexto para provocar uma anlise mais profunda e fundamentada do tema e objetivo para este projeto. Entender um conceito to subjetivo como o de qualidade afigura-se como necessidade primria para o incio da reflexo. Percorremos em seguida a histria do conceito desde a Europa Medieval at revoluo na qualidade que acabaria por acontecer no Japo aps a II Guerra Mundial. A qualidade como a entendemos hoje deve-se ainda a contributos de personalidades que identificaram vrios mtodos que surgiram ao longo do tempo e que foram melhorando o conceito, de entre as quais se referem trs: William Deming, Joseph Moses Juran e Philip B. Crosby. Em seguida reflete-se acerca do impacto real da implementao da ISO 9000, recorrendo ao estudo de Olivier Boiral, que fornece uma aproximao bastante real dos benefcios da implementao de sistemas de gesto da qualidade. Ainda no segundo captulo analisamos a importncia do processo de certificao, concluindo que a tarefa extra de uma organizao externa certificar o SGQ constitui indubitavelmente uma forma de manter o sistema rigoroso e disciplinado. No terceiro captulo, ISO 9001:2008 VERSUS ISO 9001:2015, analisamos em detalhe as principais alteraes da futura norma ISO 9001:2015 relativamente iISO 9001:2008: introduo do pensamento baseado no risco; enfase dado abordagem por processos; enfase dado gesto da mudana; gesto do conhecimento; direo estratgica, integrando os sistemas de gesto e da qualidade; a determinao de que todas as normas que integram um sistema de gesto seguiro um novo formato, chamado high-level structure como definido no Anexo SL; e enfase ainda dado considerao do feedback de todos os processos e stakeholders envolvidos. Seguidamente, no captulo Apresentao da Empresa Lda, apresenta-se a empresa alvo deste caso de estudo, uma indstria metalomecnica que fabrica fundos copados para o mercado nacional e internacional. Analisadas as principais alteraes entre a atual e a futura norma, no captulo SGQ Proposto Assente na Futura Norma ISO 9001:2015 propem-se alteraes ao sistema j implementado anteriormente com base na aceitao da futura ISO 9001:2015 e alteraes que esta prev. Os processos e procedimentos que representem mais tempo e custo sero 6 identificados, assim como aqueles que podero ser mais rapidamente adaptados para que o SGQ seja assim otimizado e mais adaptado aos recursos disponveis. Para esta reflexo e desenvolvimento de uma nova estratgia recorre-se a vrios instrumentos: estabelecem-se objetivos, efectua-se a anlise SWOT, uma anlise FMEA, a Anlise de Gesto do Conhecimento e finalmente a Anlise das Partes Interessadas. Em conjunto com as propostas de aes referidas nas anlises anteriores descrevem-se de seguida as propostas de ao de interveno nos fluxogramas. Os processos e procedimentos que aqui se destacam so aqueles que se consideram poderem constituir impacto eficaz e que vo ao encontro daquilo que proposto na nova norma ISO 9001:2015, tendo em conta as principais alteraes vistas anteriormente.

The world is increasingly in a global community. The rapid technological development of communication and information technologies allows the transmission of knowledge in real-time. In this context, it is imperative that the most developed countries are able to develop their own strategies to stimulate the industrial sector to keep up-to-date and being competitive in a dynamic and volatile global market so as to maintain its competitive capacities and by consequence, permits the maintenance of a pacific social state to meet the human and social needs of the nation. The path traced of competitiveness through technological differentiation in industrialization allows a wider and innovative field of research. Already we are facing a new phase of organization and industrial technology that begins to change the way we relate with the industry, society and the human interaction in the world of work in current standards. This Thesis, develop an analysis of Industrie 4.0 Framework, Challenges and Perspectives. Also, an analysis of German reality in facing to approach the future challenge in this theme, the competition expected to win in future global markets, points of domestic concerns felt in its industrial fabric household face this challenge and proposes recommendations for a more effective implementation of its own strategy. The methods of research consisted of a comprehensive review and strategically analysis of existing global literature on the topic, either directly or indirectly, in parallel with the analysis of questionnaires and data analysis performed by entities representing the industry at national and world global placement. The results found by this multilevel analysis, allowed concluding that this is a theme that is only in the beginning for construction the platform to engage the future Internet of Things in the industrial environment Industrie 4.0. This dissertation allows stimulate the need of achievements of more strategically and operational approach within the society itself as a whole to clarify the existing weaknesses in this area, so that the National Strategy can be implemented with effective approaches and planned actions for a direct training plan in a more efficiently path in education for the theme.

This paper explores the relationship between the expatriates knowledge acquisition (KA) and their career development after an international assignment (IA). The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of expatriates in KA and transfer within International Portuguese multinational corporations. Furthermore, with this empirical study we try to analyse how the knowledge that is acquired and transferred translates into a basis for career development after the IA. This phenomenon has a special relevance in the Portuguese context, because this country is known a growing process of globalization in recent years. Furthermore, (a) there are no empirical studies concerning knowledge transfer and career development of repatriates from Portuguese companies; (b) little is known about the repatriates contributions to their home company after IA. This paper is one of the first to focus specifically on the repatriates role in KA and transfer from the host company to their Portuguese home company. A qualitative research methodology is used, specifically through an exploratory case study approach, which examines how knowledge management (KM) acquisition or transferring during IA are important for the repatriates career development in the Portuguese home company. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews to 42 Portuguese international assignees and 18 organizational representatives from nine Portuguese companies. Preliminary results show that KA and transfer made by Portuguese expatriates contributes directly to their career development. Moreover, evidence reveals that not all repatriates were promoted after their IA; rather some repatriates were even demoted after their IA. Furthermore, the results obtained suggest that the type of knowledge which acquired or transferred plays a central role in the career development after repatriation. According to these results, the paper discusses the major theoretical and practical implications. Suggestions for future research are also presented.

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to assess mental health knowledge, attitude and practices among health care workers in Belize before and immediately after a competency based training program in mental health. A baseline Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) survey was given to health personnel, mainly nurses, working primary and secondary care. The intervention was a 13-week face-to-face training course for health care professionals with the objective of increasing their competency in mental health and reducing stigma. After the training a post intervention KAP survey was conducted among the original respondents. 88 health care workers completed the baseline survey and 61 of those respondents completed the post-intervention questionnaire. The results showed that the level of knowledge of the participants had improved by the training intervention and that in general, the intervention was effective in correcting some misconceptions about mental illness and reducing stigmatizing attitudes among the participants.

RESUMO: O envelhecimento demogrfico uma realidade dos nossos dias. A preparao da alta de enfermagem um elemento da prestao de cuidados que pode ser explorado na fase de envelhecimento para dotar os idosos de conhecimentos, capacidades e responsabilidade na gesto da sua condio de sade. Deste modo delineou-se um estudo de tipo descritivo, transversal e exploratrio com o objectivo de analisar e compreender o processo de preparao da alta hospitalar de enfermagem ao idoso internado por agudizao de doena, que se apresente autnomo no momento da alta, de modo a capacit-lo para a gesto da sua condio de sade. O estudo decorreu num Servio de Medicina Interna. Definiu-se como fontes de informao e mtodos de colheita de dados 25 entrevistas a idosos, 16 questionrios abertos a enfermeiros prestadores de cuidados e anlise dos registos do processo de internamento dos idosos. Como principais resultados destacamos que os idosos quando internados apresentam preocupaes relacionadas com a sua condio de sade e o motivo de internamento, os quais so pouco valorizadas na preparao da alta; os cuidados com a sade que os idosos tm antes do internamento so valorizados nos registos de enfermagem; um tero dos idosos no teve conhecimento do seu diagnstico mdico; os diagnsticos de enfermagem activos no momento da alta no so contemplados na preparao da alta; os idosos com a aproximao do regresso a casa manifestam preocupaes sobre os cuidados a ter com a sua sade e manifestam interesse em ser informados sobre os mesmos; os idosos sentem pouca disponibilidade por parte dos enfermeiros para a preparao da alta; as intervenes de preparao da alta centram-se em intervenes do tipo ensinar, instruir e treinar, tendo-se verificado discrepncias sobre os cuidados prestados e o seu contedo sob as vrias fontes de informao; o dilogo a estratgia de preparao da alta que prevalece; mais informao e informao escrita so aspectos que podem melhorar a preparao da alta segundo os idosos. Podemos assim concluir que no existe uma estrutura de preparao da alta a idosos com capacidade para gerir a sua condio de sade e que muito pode ser melhorado em termos de preparao da alta a idosos no sentido de tomar o mximo partido deste elemento dos cuidados e assim obter ganhos em sade. ----------- ABSTRACT: The demographic aging is a reality nowadays. The nursing discharge planning is an element of care that should be studied on aging to provide older people with knowledge, abilities and responsibility in order to deal their health condition. Thus, it was outlined a descriptive study, transversal and exploratory in order to analyze and understand how the process nursing discharge occurs, by planning the elderly hospitalized with acute disease, in order to support patients for better management of health conditions. The study was carried in an Internal Medicine Service of a Central Hospital. As information sources and methods of data collection, we defined 25 interviews with elderly, 16 open-ended questionnaires to nurses and analysis of records from the process of the elderly hospitalized. In the main results we observe the elderly hospitalized have concerns about their health condition and the reason for their hospitalization, which are undervalued in the discharge planning process; the health care reported by elderly related to time before hospitalization were registered in nursing records; one-third of the elderly dont know the medical diagnosis; the active nursing diagnosis at discharge assets are not included in the discharge planning process; in the discharge, the elderly had concerns over the care of their health and expressed interest in being informed of it; the elderly dont feel availability from the nurses in the discharge planning; the discharge interventions focus on interventions like teaching, instructing and training, and there have been different views about the care provided and its contents under the various sources of information; the high prevailing strategy to discharge planning is the dialogue; more information and written information are aspects that can improve the discharge planning process. We conclude that there is no structure in discharge planning for the elderly with high ability to manage his health condition. There are several things that can be improved to the discharge planning for the elderly in order to take full advantage of this element of care.

No presente relatrio de estgio acadmico mencionado o trabalho desenvolvido na empresa Civigest Gesto de Projetos, Lda. por um perodo de seis meses, entre Dezembro de 2012 e Junho de 2013. O relatrio que se apresenta , antes de mais, o reflexo do produtivo perodo passado na empresa, na qual se executou diversificadas tarefas, atribuindo-se maior nfase ao estudo e elaborao de projetos e fiscalizao de empreitadas em todas as suas componentes. Procura-se pois abordar reas de conhecimento que tm relacionamento direto com os projetos de engenharia civil. No mbito do planeamento em empresas de projeto de engenharia, as previses assumem-se como uma ferramenta incontornvel para o cumprimento dos objetivos. A calendarizao dos projetos e o esforo dos tcnicos para o seu cumprimento so fundamentais, visto que as despesas fixas desta atividade prendem-se sobretudo com o custo de mo-de-obra. Incontornavelmente ligado ao departamento de estudos e projetos encontra-se o departamento de oramentao, auxiliando os tcnicos projetistas a optar por solues que no comprometam os valores alvo da empreitada. O relatrio de estgio descreve as atividades desenvolvidas nos vrios departamentos da organizao, com destaque para o departamento de fiscalizao de empreitadas, que tem como principais objetivos a coordenao e gesto de obras envolvendo a elaborao e aprovao de autos de medio e autos de pagamento, a verificao do estrito cumprimento dos projetos, a promoo de alteraes de melhoria de projeto, a verificao das especificaes tcnicas dos materiais e sua correta aplicao, bem como promover um bom relacionamento e dilogo entre as partes interessadas da empreitada. A passagem pelo departamento de fiscalizao de empreitadas fulcral para uma melhor perceo das dificuldades encontradas em obra. Por outro lado, o relatrio aborda outra atividade relativa anlise de solues construtivas, visando o desempenho trmico dos edifcios. Este o conceito do relatrio de estgio onde sero apresentados alguns casos de obras iniciadas na Civigest e posteriormente acompanhadas em obra. Relativamente a este ponto sero analisadas solues de melhoria trmica. Com menor nfase no trabalho, mas no menos importante, referir-se- a profisso de coordenao de segurana em obra.

A crowdsourcing innovation intermediary performs mediation activities between companies that have a problem to solve or that seek a business opportunity, and a group of people motivated to present ideas based on their knowledge, experience and wisdom, taking advantage of technology sharing and collaboration emerging from Web2.0. As far as we know, most of the present intermediaries dont have, yet, an integrated vision that combines the creation of value through community development, brokering and technology transfer. In this paper we present a proposal of a knowledge repository framework for crowdsourcing innovation that enables effective support and integration of the activities developed in the process of value creation (community building, brokering and technology transfer), modeled using ontology engineering methods.

Innovation is recognized by academics and practitioners as an essential competitive enabler for any company to survive, to remain competitive and to grow. Investments in tasks of R&D have not always brought the expected results. But that doesn't mean that the outcomes would not be useful to other companies of the same business area or even from another area. Thus, there is much knowledge already available in the market that can be helpful to some and profitable to others. So, the ideas and expertise can be found outside a company's boundaries and also exported from within. Information, knowledge, experience, wisdom is already available in the millions of the human beings of this planet, the challenge is to use them through a network to produce new ideas and tips that can be useful to a company with less costs. This was the reason for the emergence of the area of crowdsourcing innovation. Crowdsourcing innovation is a way of using the Web 2.0 tools to generate new ideas through the heterogeneous knowledge available in the global network of individuals highly qualified and with easy access to information and technology. So, a crowdsourcing innovation broker is an organization that mediates the communication and relationship between the seekers - companies that aspire to solve some problem or to take advantage of any business opportunity - with a crowd that is prone to give ideas based on their knowledge, experience and wisdom. This paper makes a literature review on models of open innovation, crowdsourcing innovation, and technology and knowledge intermediaries, and discusses this new phenomenon as a way to leverage the innovation capacity of enterprises. Finally, the paper outlines a research design agendafor explaining crowdsourcing innovation brokering phenomenon, exploiting its players, main functions, value creation process, and knowledge creation in order to define a knowledge metamodel of such intermediaries.

Open innovation is a hot topic in innovation management. Its basic premise is open up the innovation process. The innovation process, in general sense, may be seen as the process of designing, developing and commercializing a novel product or service to improve the value added of a company. The development of Web 2.0 tools facilitates this kind of contributions, opening space to the emergence of crowdsourcing innovation initiatives. Crowdsourcing is a form of outsourcing not directed to other companies but to the crowd by means of an open call mostly through an Internet platform. Innovation intermediaries, in general sense, are organizations that work to enable innovation, that just act as brokers or agents between two or more parties. Usually, they are also engaged in other activities like inter-organizational networking and technology development and related activities. A crowdsourcing innovation intermediary is an organization that mediates the communication and relationship between the seekers companies that aspire to solve some problem or to take advantage of any business opportunity with a crowd that is prone to give ideas based on their knowledge, experience and wisdom. This paper identifies and analyses the functions to be performed by an intermediary of crowdsourcing innovation through grounded theory analyses from literature. The resulting model is presented and explained. The resulting model summarizes eight main functions that can be performed by a crowdsourcing process, namely, diagnoses, mediation, linking knowledge, community, evaluation, project management, intellectual property governance and marketing and support. These functions are associated with a learning cycle process which covers all the crowdsourcing activities that can be realized by the broker.

This cross-sectional study assessed the grade of physical impairments in 61 individuals with leprosy receiving multidrug therapy (MDT) under the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), and residing in Campina Grande, Paraba State, Brazil. Impairments were assessed using the disability grade (DG) standardized by the WHO, and the EHF score (Eye-Hand-Foot sum of impairment scores). Impairments were detected in 25 (41%) of the subjects. A total of 14 (23%) patients scored DG 1, while 11 (18%) were assigned DG 2. The EHF score ranged from 1 to 10 points in the group of patients with physical impairments, with a mean score of 3.6 points. The majority of individuals with impairments were affected in at least two sites. We conclude that the EHF score showed overlapping impairments in the segments examined and may be more appropriate than the DG classification system for describing the degree of physical impairment of leprosy patients.

Este estudo teve como enfoque o papel da reflexo na escola, para transformao de prticas. Este implicou a realizao de um projeto a nvel de escola, que teve a colaborao e envolvimento de todos os docentes. A concretizao deste projeto permitiu uma compreenso mais aprofundada de diversas potencialidades, quer do exerccio da reflexo, como da colaborao entre pares, da investigaoao, promovendo a sua utilizao, com uma participao ativa de todos. Estamos perante um estudo de natureza interpretativa, que se iniciou com a aplicao de um inqurito por questionrio aos docentes participantes, implicando posteriormente, a formao de um grupo de trabalho, com recurso a encontros semanais de reflexo colaborativa, reflexes escritas em critical friend e uma entrevista final aos mesmos. Relativamente aos procedimentos de anlise, estes foram do tipo qualitativo tendose privilegiado o discurso oral e escrito utilizado ao longo de todo o estudo. Os resultados auferidos, no diferem muito de outros estudos que se centraram na mesma temtica, reconhecendo portanto, as potencialidades formativas da reflexo colaborativa, da investigaoao, relativamente ao desenvolvimento dos saberes profissionais, que fomentam a construo de uma nova dinmica na organizao escola. Esta sensibilizao possibilitou o desenvolvimento das nossas aprendizagens em toda a instituio facilitando assim a mudana.
