El presente proyecto consiste en la implantación de Software Libre en el Centro de Desarrollo Infantil (CENDI) No. 4, que es un centro de educación infantil de niños de 0 a 6 años con equipos antiguos de recursos limitados, de forma que se incorporen programas que sean adecuados a la edad de los niños, y además el profesorado pueda aprovechar los ordenadores, todo ello con el menor coste posible, debido a que el presupuesto del centro es muy limitado.

Creació d'una empresa que el seu producte principal es un programa amb una llicencia de programari lliure. L'empresa generarà una base del programa, robust i estable. Després s'alliberarà amb una llicencia lliure per a que la comunitat de programari lliure s'afegeixi al desenvolupament i el faci créixer i convertir-ho en un producte de qualitat i superior als actuals productes privatius. Per aconseguir el objectiu, l'empresa gestionarà el producte amb metodologies empresarials. El benefici, s'obtindrà de les SaaS (Software As a Service). El model de negoci i l'estratègia empresarial es basarà segons el model Hecker i Raymond.

Uso de ODR en las comunidades de desarrollo de software libre

La revolució del programari lliure ha estat i és un dels fenòmens més imprevisibles i de major abast que han sorgit des del desenvolupament de les Tecnologies de la Informació. No obstant això és un fenomen que, a causa de pròpia construcció social i distribuïda, està intrínsecament unit a la noció de conflicte, la manifestació del qual més notòria és la bifurcació o fork. En el present treball analitzem els diferents tipus de conflictes i els mecanismes habitualment emprats per a la resolució dels mateixos, i si formen part dels denominats mètodes alternatius de resolució de controvèrsies en Línia o ODR o si són part d'una categoria diferent i separada.

Teambox Software Appliance

El proyecto consiste en el desarrollo de una distribución Live, que contiene el software colaborativo Teambox. Esta distribución puede ser instalada en un equipo físico y ser puesta en produccion.

Proyecto de migración a un sistema de telefonia IP (VOIP) basado en software libre.

Una empresa de grandària mitja s'embarca en un projecte de migració del seu sistema telefònic, basat en un model tradicional i amb múltiples problemes, tant a nivell de funcionalitat com de costos, i decideix apostar per una solució basada en programari lliure, amb Linux i Asterisk com peces angulars del disseny del projecte.

Fonaments d'un programa informàtic de suport psicològic i superació personal : dels llibres d'autoajuda al software d'autoajuda

Aquest treball descriu els principis de disseny i els components essencials d'un hipotètic programa informàtic que té per finalitat facilitar el procés d'autoajuda i que també pot ser utilitzat com a eina de desenvolupament personal i motivació. Prèviament, l'autor fa una revisió dels mètodes existents, des de l'èxit dels llibres d'autoajuda del segle XX fins al'expansió de la interactivitat impulsada pel desenvolupament de les tecnologiesinformàtiques. A través d'aquest recorregut es constata la pobre implantació de les novestecnologies com a instruments populars d'autoajuda i s'advoca per la creació i ús deprogrames informàtics flexibles i generalistes com a mitjà de suport psicològic.

Open to the users' needs : combining user-centered design, standards and open source software

This case study introduces our continuous work to enhance the virtual classroom in order to provide faculty and students with an environment open to their needs, compliant with learning standards and, therefore compatible with other e-learning environments, and based on open source software. The result is a modulable, sustainable and interoperable learning environment that can be adapted to different teaching and learning situations by incorporating the LMS integrated tools as well as wikis, blogs, forums and Moodle activities among others.

Business Models in OER, a Contingency Approach

We will present an analysis of data from a literature review and semi-structured interviews with experts on OER, to identify different aspects of OER business models and to establish how the success of the OER initiatives is measured. The results collected thus far show that two different business models for OER initiatives exist, but no data on their success or failure is published. We propose a framework for measuring success of OER initiatives.

Work Meaningfulness as a Key Enhancer of Ethical Values in Business

Despite abundant research on work meaningfulness, the link between work meaningfulness and general ethical attitude at work has not been discussed so far. In this article, we propose a theoretical framework to explain how work meaningfulness contributes to enhanced ethical behavior. We argue that by providing a way for individuals to relate work to one's personal core values and identity, work meaningfulness leads to affective commitment - the involvement of one's cognitive, emotional, and physical resources. This, in turn, leads to engagement and so facilitates the integration of one's personal values in the daily work routines, and so reduces the risk of unethical behavior. On the contrary, anomie, that is, the absence of meaning and consequently of personal involvement, will lead to lower rational commitment rather than affective commitment, and consequently to disengagement and a-morality. We conclude with implications for the management of ethical attitudes.

Automatic self-configuration of the logical network using distributed software agents

We present a system for dynamic network resource configuration in environments with bandwidth reservation. The proposed system is completely distributed and automates the mechanisms for adapting the logical network to the offered load. The system is able to manage dynamically a logical network such as a virtual path network in ATM or a label switched path network in MPLS or GMPLS. The system design and implementation is based on a multi-agent system (MAS) which make the decisions of when and how to change a logical path. Despite the lack of a centralised global network view, results show that MAS manages the network resources effectively, reducing the connection blocking probability and, therefore, achieving better utilisation of network resources. Interacting software-agents to support a kind of expert supervision systems

Expert supervision systems are software applications specially designed to automate process monitoring. The goal is to reduce the dependency on human operators to assure the correct operation of a process including faulty situations. Construction of this kind of application involves an important task of design and development in order to represent and to manipulate process data and behaviour at different degrees of abstraction for interfacing with data acquisition systems connected to the process. This is an open problem that becomes more complex with the number of variables, parameters and relations to account for the complexity of the process. Multiple specialised modules tuned to solve simpler tasks that operate under a co-ordination provide a solution. A modular architecture based on concepts of software agents, taking advantage of the integration of diverse knowledge-based techniques, is proposed for this purpose.
