Asiantuntijapalveluiden kehittäminen isännöintialan yrityksessä

Isännöintiala on tämän päivän Suomessa yhä suurempien haasteiden edessä asiakkaiden ja yhteiskunnan asettamien vaatimusten kasvaessa mutta samalla käytössä olevien resurssien niukentuessa. Tämä työ toimii osana kokonaisvaltaisempaa asiantuntijapalveluprosessien kehittämiseen keskittyvää projektia, jonka keskipisteessä ovat isännöintipalvelut ja niiden kehittäminen kohdeyrityksen tarpeiden mukaisesti. Diplomityössä keskitytään isännöintipalveluiden kehittämiseen palveluiden paketoimisen ja hinnoittelun sekä asiakassegmentoinnin näkökulmasta. Työn tavoitteena oli löytää uusia ratkaisumalleja vastaamaan kohdeyrityksen tulevaisuuden tavoitteisiin samalla huomioiden toimintaympäristön muuttuvat tarpeet. Projekti jakautui kahteen osaan; nykytila-analyysiin ja sen pohjalta rakennettaviin ratkaisuehdotuksiin. Nykytila-analyysin avulla haluttiin löytää nykyisen toiminnan keskeisimmät ongelmakohdat, joihin haettiin sittemmin ratkaisua palveluiden uudelleenpaketoimisen myötä. Merkittävimpiä havaittuja ongelmatekijöitä olivat työn kuormittavuuden epätasainen jakautuminen ja se, ettei kuormittavuutta huomioitu tavassa tuottaa tai hinnoitella palveluita. Kuormittavuuden epätasainen jakautuminen otettiin lähtökohdaksi asiakassegmentoinnin ja palveluiden uudelleenpaketoinnin toteuttamisessa.

Osuuskauppojen fuusion toteutus

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella osuuskauppafuusioiden käytännön toteutusta kulttuurimuutoksen ja organisaatiomuutoksen näkökulmasta, sekä kuvata myös fuusion herättämiä tuntemuksia. Tutkimukseen osallistui kaksi case-osuuskauppaa, Osuuskauppa Varuboden-Osla Handelslag sekä Suur-Seudun Osuuskauppa. Tutkimuksen näkökulma keskittyy osuuskaupan johdon sekä yksiköiden esimiesten näkemyksiin fuusion kulusta. Tutkimus on laadullinen, ja sen aineistonhankinta toteutettiin teemahaastattelun ja kyselyn avulla. Tutkimusta varten haastateltiin molempien case-osuuskauppojen fuusion aikaista johtoa, yhteensä 12 henkilöä, sekä fuusiossa mukana toiminutta konsulttia. Fuusion aikaan yksikön esimiehinä työskennelleille henkilöille puolestaan toteutettiin lomakekysely verkkokyselynä. Vastauksia verkkokyselyyn saatiin yhteensä 21 henkilöltä vastausprosentin ollessa 23,9. Tutkimustulokset osoittavat, että kulttuurimuutos jää fuusiossa helposti organisaatiomuutoksen jalkoihin. Kun kulttuurin olemassaoloa ei nähdä, keskitytään liittämään kaksi osuuskauppaa organisatorisesti ja toimintatavoiltaan yhteen. Toisessa case-osuuskaupassa saatiin hyviä tuloksia aloittamalla organisaatiomuutoksen rinnalla kulttuurimuutoshanke jo fuusion suunnitteluvaiheessa. Organisaatiomuutoksessa oleellista on tasapuolisuus kombinaatiofuusion toteuttavien osuuskauppojen kesken sekä johdon ja esimiesten osallistaminen muutosprosessiin. Kulttuurin lisäksi erityisesti johto-organisaation tapa organisoitua sekä viestinnän onnistuminen vaikuttavat paljon fuusion aikaisten positiivisten tuntemuksien määrään.

Specific insulin and proinsulin secretion in glucokinase-deficient individuals

Glucokinase (GCK) is an enzyme that regulates insulin secretion, keeping glucose levels within a narrow range. Mutations in the glucokinase gene cause a rare form of diabetes called maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY). An early onset (less than 25 years), autosomal dominant inheritance and low insulin secretion stimulated by glucose characterize MODY patients. Specific insulin and proinsulin were measured in serum by immunofluorimetric assays (IFMA) during a 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Two kindreds (SA and LZ) were studied and compared to non-diabetic unrelated individuals (control group 1) matched for age and body mass index (BMI). In one kindred, some of these subjects were also obese (BMI >26 kg/m2), and other family members also presented with obesity and/or late-onset NIDDM. The MODY patients were also compared to a group of five of their first-degree relatives with obesity and/or late-onset NIDDM. The proinsulin profile was different in members of the two MODY kindreds. Fasting proinsulin and the proinsulin/insulin ratio were similar in MODY members of kindred LZ and subjects from control group 1, but were significantly lower than in MODY members of kindred SA (P<0.02 and P<0.01, for proinsulin and proinsulin/insulin ratio, respectively). Moreover, MODY members of family SA had higher levels of proinsulin and proinsulin/insulin ratio, although not significantly different, when compared to their first-degree relatives and to subjects from control group 2. In conclusion, we observed variable degrees of proinsulin levels and proinsulin/insulin ratio in MODY members of two different kindreds. The higher values of these parameters found in MODY and non-MODY members of kindred SA is probably related to the obesity and late-onset NIDDM background present in this family.

Creating better customer experiences: Service Design effects on customer experience

Pro gradu –tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia, kuinka palvelumuotoilua voidaan käyttää parempien asiakaskokemusten luomisessa. Tutkimuksen teoreettisessa osuudessa keskityttiin tutkimaan palvelumuotoilun ja asiakaskokemuksen käsitteitä. Tutkielman empiirinen osuus tehtiin laadullisena tutkimuksena, jossa vertailtiin asiakaskokemuksia kahdessa Espoon kaupungin yhteispalvelupisteessä: Leppävaarassa sijaitseva yhteispalvelupiste oli hiljattain suunniteltu uudelleen käyttäen palvelumuotoilun periaatteita; Matinkylän palvelupiste oli alkuperäisessä muodossaan tutkimuksen aikana. Tutkimuksen yhtenä tavoitteena oli myös selvittää, oliko palvelumuotoilun menetelmin tehty muotoiluprojekti Leppävaaran yhteispalvelupisteessä onnistunut, kun sitä arvioitiin asiakaskokemuksen näkökulmasta. Tutkielman aineisto kerättiin suoran havainnoinnin ja haastattelun keinoin. Yhteensä 33 yksittäistä asiakasta havannoitiin ja haastateltiin tutkimusta varten toukokuussa 2015. Vastaajat valikoituivat satunnaisesti havannointipäivien asiakkaista. Heitä havainnoitiin koko asiakaspolun ajan minkä jälkeen heitä haastateltiin. Tutkimuksen tulokset ovat kaksiosaiset. 1) Arvioitaessa asiakkaiden kokemuksia liittyen palvelutilan toimivuuteen ja aineelliseen ympäristöön todettiin, että palvelumuotoilulla saavuttettiin parempi asiakaskokemus, ja täten Leppävaaran muotoiluprojekti oli onnistunut tavoitteissaan. 2) Kun taas tuloksia tarkasteltiin asiakaspalvelutilanteiden näkökulmasta, projekti ei ollut päässyt tavoitteisiin ja palvelumuotoilun menetelmillä ei pystytty parantamaan asiakaskokemuksta. Espoon kaupungin muotoiluprojekti on vielä kesken, tulosten perusteella tutkija ehdotti jatkotoimenpiteenä muun muassa lisäkoulutusta palveluhenkilökunnalle.

Respostas a uma crítica marxista às perspectivas retórica e pragmática em economia

Answers to a marxist critic of the rhetorical and pragmatic perspectives in economics. Based on recent discussions regarding the rhetorical perspective in economics, this paper presents an interpretation of the philosophical approach of Habermas which attempts to rescue the so called 'modern spirit', forgotten in the annals of the 19th century, similar to that presented by Marshall Berman in 1982. Following the reconstructive approach of Habermas's project of modernity, we attempt to show how a 'rhetorical approach' could be applied in the field of economics, and yet still be clearly modern by taking into account intersubjectivities, given the expanded sphere of human communication (as defended in the theory of communicative action of Habermas). In this sense, we will seek to demonstrate the philosophical limits of the anti-rhetorical critiques of, for example, Paulani (1996, 2003, 2005, 2006), which seem to underestimate the linguistic and intersubjective aspect of Habermas's philosophical project that can also be found in McCloskey’s methodological approach.

New pension programs in Latin America: lessons from the Argentinean experience. This work analyzes the political constraints of pension reform in Argentina. The first part presents a brief description of the development of pension programs in Latin America. Additionally, it also discusses the pension system crisis and the main proposals in order to overcome this crisis. The second part examines the peculiarities of the Argentine pension reform, with specific attention on economic imperatives and political constraints which have shaped the pension reform project of Menem´s Government (1989-1999). The article demonstrates that there are a large gap between the new system promises and its outcomes.

Cohesion Metrics for Improving Software Quality

Abstract Software product metrics aim at measuring the quality of software. Modu- larity is an essential factor in software quality. In this work, metrics related to modularity and especially cohesion of the modules, are considered. The existing metrics are evaluated, and several new alternatives are proposed. The idea of cohesion of modules is that a module or a class should consist of related parts. The closely related principle of coupling says that the relationships between modules should be minimized. First, internal cohesion metrics are considered. The relations that are internal to classes are shown to be useless for quality measurement. Second, we consider external relationships for cohesion. A detailed analysis using design patterns and refactorings confirms that external cohesion is a better quality indicator than internal. Third, motivated by the successes (and problems) of external cohesion metrics, another kind of metric is proposed that represents the quality of modularity of software. This metric can be applied to refactorings related to classes, resulting in a refactoring suggestion system. To describe the metrics formally, a notation for programs is developed. Because of the recursive nature of programming languages, the properties of programs are most compactly represented using grammars and formal lan- guages. Also the tools that were used for metrics calculation are described.

Niagara-Welland Power Company Limited fonds, 1833, 1852, 1904-1906, 1909, n.d.

The Welland Power and Supply Canal Company Limited, established in 1893 and incorporated in 1894 with a capital stock of $500,000. The aim of the company was to harness the natural water supply of the Niagara and Welland Rivers. In 1898 the Canadian Electrical News published a report by Henry Symons, QC outlining the main project of the company. This project involves the construction of a canal from the Welland River to the brow of the mountain at Thorold, a distance of 8 miles; the construction at Thorold of a power house, and from Thorold to Lake Ontario, a raceway by which to carry water into the lake. The estimate for the machinery to generate 100,000 horse power is £125,000; for transmission line to Toronto at a voltage of 10,000….The total estimate therefore amounts to £2,452,162, or roughly speaking, $12,000,000. Source: Canadian Electrical News, August 1898, p. 172. In 1899 the company officers petitioned the federal government desiring a name change to the Niagara-Welland Power Company Limited. Officers of the company were Harry Symons, President; Charles A. Hesson, Vice-President; and M.R. O’Loughlin, James B. Sheehan, James S. Haydon, Frederick K. Foster, directors; John S. Campbell, secretary-treasurer. The company’s head offices were located in St. Catharines, with a New York (City) office on Broad Street. In 1905 and 1909 the company petitioned the federal government for additional time to construct its works, which was granted. The company had until May 16, 1915 to complete construction. John S. Campbell (1860-1950) was a graduate of the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall. During his university years John began his military career first in "K" Company, Queens Own rifles and then later as Commanding Officer of the 19th Lincoln Regiment, from 1906 to 1910. Upon his return to St. Catharines John Campbell served as secretary in the St. Catharines Garrison Club, a social club for military men begun in 1899. After being called to the Bar, he became a partner in the firm of Campbell and McCarron and was appointed to the bench in 1916, serving until retirement in 1934. Judge Campbell served as an alderman for several terms and was the mayor of St. Catharines in 1908 and 1909. He also served as the first chairman of the St. Catharines Public Utilities in 1914. John S. Campbell was married to Elizabeth Oille, daughter of Jerome B. and Charlotte (St. John) Oille. The family home "Cruachan" was located at 32 Church St.

Given the dates of stay in Corsica Napoleon, it seems that is present in Ajaccio the month of June in 1790.

La reconnaissance entre échange, pouvoirs et institutions. Le républicanisme de Philip Pettit.

Cet article propose une lecture critique de l’approche néorépublicaine de la reconnaissance et du projet d’une économie de l’estime, développé par Ph. Pettit et G. Brennan. Il vise à montrer en quoi la conception de la reconnaissance qui est celle de ce dernier est trop étroite, dans la mesure où elle va de pair avec une analyse insuffisante des conditions de la visibilité sociale des performances et capacités des agents, ainsi que de la manière dont les luttes de reconnaissance peuvent contribuer à une telle visibilité. Ce texte montre ainsi en quoi il convient d’élargir la conception néorépublicaine de la reconnaissance. Il vise aussi à dégager les limites du projet d’une économie de l’estime, en montrant ses lacunes eu égard à une réflexion suffisante sur les conditions d’un pluralisme des standards d’estime.
