Introducción: El dolor lumbar y los desórdenes músculo esqueléticos comprometen la salud y la calidad de vida de los trabajadores, pueden poner en riesgo el futuro laboral de las personas. bjetivo: Estimar la prevalencia de dolor lumbar y los posibles factores biomecánicos asociados en el personal operativo y administrativo en una empresa manufacturera de jabón en Bogotá, en el año 2016 Metodología: Estudio de corte transversal donde se evaluó el riesgo biomecánico y la prevalencia del dolor lumbar en personal administrativo (138) y operativo (165); se utilizó como instrumento el ERGOPAR validado en España. Se revisó la asociación utilizando la prueba Chi Cuadrado de Pearson, con un nivel de significación α 0.05 Resultados: 303 trabajadores de una empresa manufacturera de jabón en Bogotá, donde predominó el género masculino (51,82%) y la población adulta media entre 30-39 años (57,42%). La prevalencia del dolor lumbar en la población fue de 61,39% (186). La edad no se asoció estadísticamente al dolor lumbar. Se encontró asociación estadística entre el síntoma dolor lumbar y extensión de cuello (p=0,05 OR1.95 IC 1.33-2.88), así como con agarrar o sujetar objetos (p= 0,036. OR 2.3 IC 1.59-3.51) y con las exigencias físicas laborales (p= 0.001 OR 1.99 IC 1.31-3.02). Conclusiones: La población estudiada presentó una alta prevalencia de dolor lumbar, con predominio en personal que realiza labores operativas, y del género femenino. La adopción de posturas de extensión del cuello y la sujeción o agarre de objetos son factores asociados directamente con la aparición de lumbalgia.

El objetivo de este estudio de caso es analizar la forma en la cual la política exterior expansionista y racista del Tercer Reich repercutió en la invasión militar de Checoslovaquia y en la creación de un régimen fascista en Croacia. El surgimiento del Tercer Reich implicó el desencadenamiento de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, generando un cambio en la configuración del Sistema Internacional. Desde el ascenso de Hitler al poder en 1933, Alemania proyectó una discursiva racista y expansionista en su política exterior, con el objetivo de configurar un nuevo ordenamiento europeo. Por lo anterior, la política exterior del Tercer Reich justificó la invasión de Checoslovaquia basándose en los principios del espacio vital que permitieron adherir el territorio al Reich, e influyó en el ascenso del régimen fascista de Ante Pavelić en Croacia, quien colaboró para la consecución del interés nacional racial alemán.

O presente relatório tem como objectivo efectuar uma retrospectiva e um balanço sobre todo o trabalho desenvolvido ao longo do ano lectivo na Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES). A prestação do aluno de PES foi ao longo deste relatório analisada minuciosamente, sendo na sua análise implícita uma reflexão crítica de carácter importante. A PES desenvolveu-se na EB 2;3 de Santa Clara, EB1 de São Mamede e na Escola Secundária de Severim Faria. Concluiu-se que o planeamento é essencial para que exista uma organização e controlo sobre o processo ensino­ aprendizagem; que a avaliação formativa é essencial para o sucesso dos alunos; o planeamento por etapas assume-se como o mais adequado para o processo ensino­aprendizagem. Por último considera-se que leccionar uma aula é muito mais que colocar os alunos a realizar uma modalidade desportiva, sendo necessário, pensar, planear, organizar, demonstrar, acompanhar, facultar informação e adaptar-se aos alunos e ao meio escolar. ABSTRACT; The present report aims to make a retrospective overview of the work throughout the school year in Supervised Practice Teaching (SPT). The work of the student of SPT is carefully examined through this report; a critical reflexion is implicit in all chapters. The SPT was developed in three schools: EB 2, 3, Santa Clara, EB1 São Mamede and Secondary School Severim Faria. lt was concluded that planning is essential for achieving a high level of organization and control on the teaching-learning process; that the formative evaluation is fundamental for the student’s success; and that a planning model based on stages seem to be the most appropriate for the learning process. Also, it was understood that teaching a lesson is much more than getting the students practicing a sport; it requires skills like planning, organizing, demonstrating, instructing and adapting to the students and school’s characteristics.

O objectivo deste relatório é efectuar uma reflexão fundamentada sobre a prática pedagógica desenvolvida ao longo do ano lectivo 2009/201O. A dimensão investigativa está presente ao longo de todo o relatório e encontra-se associada à reflexão sobre o trabalho desenvolvido nas instituições escolares em que estive inserido. No decorrer deste relatório são destacas as seguintes temáticas: modelos de planeamento; ensino das actividades físico-desportivas; destrezas do professor; promoção da saúde; avaliação; participação na escola; desenvolvimento profissional. Conclusões: O Modelo de planeamento por etapas é aquele que mais favorece a aprendizagem dos alunos. No ensino dos jogos desportivos colectivos, o modelo teaching games for understanding assume-se como uma alternativa às abordagens tradicionais centradas na técnica. Informação aumentada dirigida para um foco externo parece dar origem a uma melhor aprendizagem. As aulas de Educação Física não estão a conseguir dar o contributo necessário para a obtenção dos níveis recomendados de actividade física. ABSTRACT: The purpose of this report is to conduct a reasoned discussion about the pedagogical practice developed during the academic year 2009/201O. The investigative dimension is present throughout the report and is linked to the reflection on the work that was undertaken in schools. Throughout this report the following topics are highlighted: planning models, teaching physical and sporting activities, teacher's skills, health promotion, evaluation, participation in school, and professional development. Conclusions: The model of "planning steps" is one most conducive to student learning. ln collective sports games, the teaching games for understanding model is assumed as an alternative to traditional approaches focused on the critical components of each motor skill. The use of an externa! focus of attention appears to lead to better learning. lt seems that Physical Education classes are failing to provide the levels of physical activity recommended for young people.

The author reconstructs the institutional framework within which collisions and negotiations among the parties involved occurred. He also characterizes the transition process which led to a mew order in terms of labor relations and social reforms of the 1940s.

O presente trabalho propõe-se analisar a dinâmica de utilização dos recursos hídricos na formação do Assentamento Antonio de Farias, situado na localidade de Pernambuca no município de Campos dos Goytacazes-RJ. O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar os recursos hídricos existentes na área de estudo e a sua relação com o uso e ocupação das terras. A abordagem metodológica deste trabalho é a adoção da Teoria Geral dos Sistemas. Dentre os procedimentos metodológicos adotados, está a realização de trabalho de campo e a organização de banco digital de dados. Com os resultados preliminares, verificou-se que as áreas onde se encontram os corpos hídricos não apresentam o estado de preservação exigido pela legislação ambiental, ou seja, os corpos hídricos não estão protegidos pela mata ciliar. As etapas então cumpridas irão subsidiar as etapas posteriores, que tem como objetivo final orientar a população do assentamento rural a utilizar e conservar os recursos hídricos da propriedade.

A new approach was taken to delivering a challenging "stewarship of land" unit to over 350 predominantly first year built environment students stewardship. The new approach involved incorporating environmental and planning law into the syllabus, exposing students to a wide range of statutes, selecting legal cases according to a et of criteria and revisiting the material using different modes of delivery and teaching resources. To evaluate the effectiveness of the new approach, the students were surveyed to elicit their learning experience and preferences. The survey found that most students perceived learning about environmental and planning law, including legal cases, worthwhile.----- Areas identified by the surcey for improvement included the perception by some students that: environmenatl and planning law is irrelevant to their discipline and future caree; studying law is dull and sometimes daunting; and the prescribed reading could be omitted.----- To address student perceptions, it is proposed to reorder the topics commencing with local, charismatic topics, while explanding international content and cases, to enlarge and enhance the repertoire of video clips to include sites of legal cawses and development projects, and to reformat the online weekly quizzes to promote reading of primary material.----- Overall, the approach to teaching environmental and planning law to built environment students, including the criteria for selecting legal cases, described in this paper, was found to be effective.

Survey results provide a preliminary assessment of the relative contribution of a range of tactical business strategies to innovation performance by firms in the Australian construction industry. Over 1,300 firms were surveyed in 2004, resulting in a response rate of 29%. Respondents were classified as high, medium or low innovators according to an innovation index based on the novelty and impact of their innovations and their adoption of listed technological and organizational advances. The relative significance of 23 business strategies concerning (1) employees, (2) marketing, (3) technology, (4) knowledge and (5) relationships was examined by determining the extent to which they distinguished high innovators from low innovators. The individual business strategies that most strongly distinguished high innovators were (1) ‘investing in R&D’, (2) ‘participating in partnering and alliances on projects’, (3) ‘ensuring project learnings are transferred into continuous business processes’, (4) ‘monitoring international best practice’, and (5) ‘recruiting new graduates’. Of the five types of strategies assessed, marketing strategies were the least significant in supporting innovation. The results provide practical guidance to managers in project-based industries wishing to improve their innovation performance.

Although the sciences were being taught in Australian schools well before the Second World War, the only evidence of research studies of this teaching is to be found in the report, published by ACER in 1932 of Roy Stanhope’s survey of the teaching of chemistry in New South Wales and a standardized test he had developed. Roy Stanhope was a science teacher with a research masters degree in chemistry. He had won a scholarship to go to Stanford University for doctoral studies, but returned after one year when his scholarship was not extended. He went on to be a founder in 1943 of the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA), which honours this remarkable pioneer through its annual Stanhope Oration. The flexural capacity of of a new cold-formed hollow flange channel section known as LiteSteel beam (LSB) is limited by lateral distortional buckling for intermediate spans, which is characterised by simultaneous lateral deflection, twist and web distortion. Recent research has developed suitable design rules for the member capacity of LSBs. However, they are limited to a uniform moment distribution that rarely exists in practice. Many steel design codes have adopted equivalent uniform moment distribution factors to accommodate the effect of non-uniform moment distributions in design. But they were derived mostly based on the data for conventional hot-rolled, doubly symmetric I-beams subject to lateral torsional buckling. The effect of moment distribution for LSBs, and the suitability of the current steel design code rules to include this effect for LSBs are not yet known. This paper presents the details of a research study based on finite element analyses of the lateral buckling strength of simply supported LSBs subject to moment gradient effects. It also presents the details of a number of LSB lateral buckling experiments undertaken to validate the results of finite element analyses. Finally, it discusses the suitability of the current design methods, and provides design recommendations for simply supported LSBs subject to moment gradient effects.

The case study of Lusoponte illustrates the concession awarded by the Portuguese Government to finance, design, build and operate two bridges over the Tagus in Lisbon, Portugal. It includes an overview of the project's background and an analysis of the main risk categories stating both the actual risks encountered and the mitigation measures adopted. Throughout the project a great attention was given to whole life cycle costs, and gains in efficiency and cost control. Among the lessons that can be learned from both the public and private sector is that a complete risk management analysis must include not only the technical factors but also a realistic assessment of environmental and social risks. These were the risks that were somewhat overseen and that caused the main problems to the project's development.
