Implantes Platform Switching: longevidade e preservação óssea: revisão crítica da literatura

The concept of switching platform is the use of an implant by platform wider than the abutment. Recently, researches have shown that this type of dental implant design tends to offer a higher preservation of crestal bone when compared to the traditional pattern of bone loss. The present study aims to perform a critical review on the switching platform concept establishing possible advantages of the technique. A search was performed on Medline/Pubmed about the topic “dental implant” and “platform switching”, and after applying inclusion criteria 40 studies were selected. The literature on longevity present prospective studies that show less bone loss, studies in biomechanics exhibit better or similar stress distribution around the bone crest, however, is not yet defined the role of the biological width. Thus, studies of longevity, and randomized prospective studies are of a great relevance to be performed in order to confirm the benefits of this technique and to establish a protocol indication. It is possible, based on this literature review, to conclude that longitudinal and randomized studies show that the platform switching implants have longevity and less bone loss. Biomechanically, the technique is possible.

Reações alérgicas aos implantes osseointegráveis de titânio: uma revisão de literatura

Titanium dental implants have been common practice in the dental office, which can increases the number of allergic reactions to this material. Objectives: to alert dental surgeons and specialists of this possible phenomenon through a literature review. Material and methods: an electronic search at PubMed was performed with the keywords “dental implants”, “titanium”, and “allergy” from January 1990 to May 2013. Only articles published in the English language were included. Letters to editor were excluded. Results: from the 22 initially retrieved articles, only 7 were included, being 4 clinical case reports and 3 experimental studies. For clinical cases, the reactions included edema, erythema, exfoliative cheilitis, and eczema. Regarding experimental studies, skin rash and dermatitis were reported. A patch test was not used in two clinical reports. Only one study used histological analysis to attest the lack of allergic reactions. Conclusion: within the limits of the available literature, allergic reactions to titanium dental implants are extremely rare and seem to be related to the female gender. More controlled clinical studies are necessary to elucidate this question.

Fios ortodônticos superelásticos e sua aplicabilidade na clínica ortodôntica: revisão da literatura

During clinical routine, the orthodontist uses several materials, which include metallic alloys in the form of metallic wires. However, it is necessary that the professional has some knowledge of the properties of those wires. Different types of wires are commercially available: stainless steel wires, chrome-cobalt wires, nickel-titanium wires and beta-titanium wires. Among the nickel-titanium wires, there are three subdivisions: a conventional alloy and two superelastic alloys. The superelasticity, associated to the effect of form memory, is a property used in orthodontics to initiate the dental movement in the first phase of the orthodontic treatment. This property is considered to be biologically compatible with the effective dental movement. These wires are available at the market in different transformation temperatures, and they offer the best adaptation in the groove of the bracket, simplicity and a faster treatment. However, they present little formability, and they don’t accept solder. They are also more onerous than other wires. Moreover, the low rigidity of these wires doesn’t allow them to be used for the retraction of the anterior teeth or closing of spaces. Therefore, the coherent use of superelastic orthodontic wires is recommended, accompanied by a detailed diagnosis and planning, so the result will be an efficient orthodontic correction, accomplished in a shorter period of time.

Tratamentos breves na psicanálise lacaniana: uma revisão sistemática de literatura

The paper outlines the profile of the scientific production about brief treatments based on the Lacanian Psychoanalysis. In order to accomplish this, the research focuses on online journals with free full-text articles written by members of Lacanian Schools listed on the website of the World Psychoanalysis Association. The work analyses studies from 2000 to 2009. In a total of 115 selected documents, the research has identified that online journals from Latin America contributed with 96 (83,47%) works. The literature review indicates that brief treatments are made possible by a construction of a specific mechanism, in which parameters of gratuity and limited time of care are established. However, a key conclusion from this review is that individual interventions with adults from big cities are still predominant.

O papel das emissoras educativas no Brasil em tempo de eleições

The concept of educational radio is present in the Brazilian Code of Broadcasting in 1963, valued by an Interministerial 1999.According to the Ministry of Communications, only 176 stations are considered educational universe of 3,000 existing radios in Brazil. In this context, the study proposes to establish a discussion on the educational experiences obtained from the radio, considering the Brazilian radio culture that favors concessions to trade groups and religious politicians. The challenge will be to move toward a program that combines educational content, entertainment, and thus ensures a common universe of communication skills enabling the adult radio listeners their actual interaction with the world around him. The methodology will work in the literature from texts on the subject, and the result of practical observations collected during visits to the broadcasters, programming and analysis.

Mídia e literatura: tematizações, correlativos, conexões

The purpose of this essay is to briefly evaluate the relationship that exists between media and literature in a general approach. The referred cases are exemplary in character. We suggest that there are essentially three ways by which medialiterature relationships come about. The classification provided herein seeks to contribute towards more detailed studies on this matter and invites to reflection.

Social TV: definição sobre a experiência do usuário

This article presents a study on the concept of social TV and the user’s experience. We made a literature review in search of the several meanings and features given to the subject. We have analyzed the aspects that express changes in the field, beginning with the TV set connected to the internet, which allows users to new experiences of socialization, previously available only in other devices. This new scenario provides a new platform called “TV everywhere”, the ubiquitous television that is everywhere, regardless of location, time or space. We have researched the origin of social TV and the process that altered the old television model. Finally, we propose a new term to express such changes regarding social television: “Social TV”, representing the user’s experience through the convergence between television and the Internet, shared locally and remotely through any technological means.

Gêneros e formatos: a web como espaço legitimado da Folkcomunicação

O estudo sobre a folkcomunicação foi um dos principais legados de Luiz Beltrão em sua batalha para conscientizar os estudantes de jornalismo quanto à comunicação coletiva e a seus múltiplos desdobramentos. A atualidade da pesquisa desse pioneiro tem despertado o interesse de diversos grupos, não só no Brasil, mas também na América Latina e em países europeus. Se, por um lado, a rapidez da sociedade da informação possibilita a criação cotidiana de "um mundo novo" de informações, com a oferta cada vez mais veloz de conhecimento exige, por outro, que toda essa gama de dados que circulam pelas "infovias" comunicacionais faça parte do cotidiano das pessoas quase que em tempo real. Esse ultimato se insere no mundo do trabalho, do lazer, da economia, da política, da cultura em uma aparente cobrança da inserção do indivíduo nesse contexto. Esse tem sido um dos motes principais de articulação da Rede (GOBBI, 2006). A pesquisa que estamos realizando busca conhecer, mapear, sistematizar os dados que estão sendo disponibilizados na rede mundial sobre a Folkcomunicação, tratando mais especificamente da Folkcomunicação Icônica, Formato Funerário e Folkcomunicação cinética, Formato: Rito de passagem, conforme definiu o professor José Marques de Melo, em seu trabalho sobre Gêneros e formatos folkcomunicacionais: aproximação taxionômica. Utilizando pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, a análise objetiva verificar quais tipos estão presentes e se há outros formatos e quais são eles.

A influência da escola de tempo integral sobre a qualidade de vida infantil

This study aims to evaluate the quality of life of students aged 7 to 12 years in two municipal schools in the municipality of Minas Gerais. One offers full-time care to their students with extracurricular activities and other school offers only the normal. We used the questionnaire AUQEI, Autoquestionnaire Qualité de Vie Enfant Image. The questionnaire was administered to 232 children. Through this study, we observed that the proportion of children with a good Quality of Life was higher in school full time (81%), compared to the normal school hours (58%). Therefore, it is concluded that the school offers an extended workday, is set in an area rich able to develop the maximum potential of children and their personal skills, which will reflect positively on their quality of life.
