Architecture and learning algorithm of self-learning spiking neural network in fuzzy clustering task are outlined. Fuzzy receptive neurons for pulse-position transformation of input data are considered. It is proposed to treat a spiking neural network in terms of classical automatic control theory apparatus based on the Laplace transform. It is shown that synapse functioning can be easily modeled by a second order damped response unit. Spiking neuron soma is presented as a threshold detection unit. Thus, the proposed fuzzy spiking neural network is an analog-digital nonlinear pulse-position dynamic system. It is demonstrated how fuzzy probabilistic and possibilistic clustering approaches can be implemented on the base of the presented spiking neural network.

In this paper we present 35 new extremal binary self-dual doubly-even codes of length 88. Their inequivalence is established by invariants. Moreover, a construction of a binary self-dual [88, 44, 16] code, having an automorphism of order 21, is given.

Николай Янков - Класифицирани са с точност до еквивалетност всички оптимални двоични самодуални [62, 31, 12] кодове, които притежават автоморфизъм от ред 7 с 8 независими цикъла при разлагане на независими цикли. Използвайки метода за конструиране на самодуални кодове, притежаващи автоморфизъм от нечетен прост ред е доказано, че съществуват точно 8 нееквивалентни такива кода. Три от получените кодове имат тегловна функция, каквато досега не бе известно да съществува.

We propose a family of local CSS stabilizer codes as possible candidates for self-correcting quantum memories in 3D. The construction is inspired by the classical Ising model on a Sierpinski carpet fractal, which acts as a classical self-correcting memory. Our models are naturally defined on fractal subsets of a 4D hypercubic lattice with Hausdorff dimension less than 3. Though this does not imply that these models can be realized with local interactions in R3, we also discuss this possibility. The X and Z sectors of the code are dual to one another, and we show that there exists a finite temperature phase transition associated with each of these sectors, providing evidence that the system may robustly store quantum information at finite temperature.

The inclusion of online elements in learning environments is becoming commonplace in Post Compulsory Education. A variety of research into the value of such elements is available, and this study aims to add further evidence by looking specifically at the use of collaborative technologies such as online discussion forums and wikis to encourage higher order thinking and self-sufficient learning. In particular, the research examines existing pedagogical models including Salmon’s five-stage model, along with other relevant literature. A case study of adult learners in community-based learning centres forms the basis of the research, and as a result of the findings, an arrow model is suggested as a framework for online collaboration that emphasises the learner, mentions pre-course preparation and then includes three main phases of activity: post, interact and critique. This builds on Salmon’s five-stage model and has the benefit of being flexible and responsive, as well as allowing for further development beyond the model, particularly in a blended learning environment.

A contemporaneidade contempla formas de estruturação da subjetividade amplamente perpassadas por condições de existência socioculturais e econômicas. Estas, por sua vez, têm promovido laços intersubjetivos frágeis, cujo funcionamento psíquico pode ter uma organização de base "falso-self". Autores também demonstram que diversas instituições atuais se tornaram "fluidas" na passagem da modernidade para a "modernidade líquida". Isto contribuiu para a perda de referências sólidas que, outrora, davam sentido e direcionamento para o ser humano. Em decorrência há uma interferência direta na construção da "confiança madura", visto que os sinais de angústia da contemporaneidade podem ser um desorganizador do funcionamento psíquico, além de promoverem o isolamento, a desconfiança no ambiente e no outro, laços mal-atados e funcionamentos de base "falso-self".

The model of the position-dependent noncommutativity in quantum mechanics is proposed. We start with given commutation relations between the operators of coordinates [(x) over cap (i), (x) over cap (j)] = omega(ij) ((x) over cap), and construct the complete algebra of commutation relations, including the operators of momenta. The constructed algebra is a deformation of a standard Heisenberg algebra and obeys the Jacobi identity. The key point of our construction is a proposed first-order Lagrangian, which after quantization reproduces the desired commutation relations. Also we study the possibility to localize the noncommutativity.

We solve the operator ordering problem for the quantum continuous integrable su(1,1) Landau-Lifshitz model, and give a prescription to obtain the quantum trace identities, and the spectrum for the higher-order local charges. We also show that this method, based on operator regularization and renormalization, which guarantees quantum integrability, as well as the construction of self-adjoint extensions, can be used as an alternative to the discretization procedure, and unlike the latter, is based only on integrable representations. We report a detailed numerical investigation of a prototype electrochemical oscillator, in terms of high-resolution phase diagrams for an experimentally relevant section of the control (parameter) space. The prototype model consists of a set of three autonomous ordinary differential equations which captures the general features of electrochemical oscillators characterized by a partially hidden negative differential resistance in an N-shaped current-voltage stationary curve. By computing Lyapunov exponents, we provide a detailed discrimination between chaotic and periodic phases of the electrochemical oscillator. Such phases reveal the existence of an intricate structure of domains of periodicity self-organized into a chaotic background. Shrimp-like periodic regions previously observed in other discrete and continuous systems were also observed here, which corroborate the universal nature of the occurrence of such structures. In addition, we have also found a structured period distribution within the order region. Finally we discuss the possible experimental realization of comparable phase diagrams.
