The study it was considered to carry through an analysis of the city of Rio de Janeiro using the point of view of not Carioca citizens - in this case Baianos and Paulistas. The optics chosen for the analysis was the image, that is the resultant of aspects such as: mental ideas, feelings, emotions, attitudes, thoughts, cognitions, expectations, representations, perceptions, certainties and associations. A research with qualitative focus was carried through, of exploratory character, with not Carioca individuals, Baianos and Paulistas, with and without experience in Rio de Janeiro. The results point the main reason of the visit - or not - to Rio de Janeiro, the symbol of the city, the perception concerning its image and about its inhabitant - the Carioca.

The acts of public administration personnel are of great importance and various laws have been passed in attempt to limit the related expenses. The management of Public administration personnel is based on the principle of efficiency. The TCE/RJ (State of Rio de Janeiro/Audit Court) digital communication system is expected through telework to facilitate its auditing duties in compliance with the terms of the Federal and State constitutions. The TCE/RJ, the superior judicial body of auditing, has done more than just reduce costs and use flextime; it applies telework as an instrument to optimize public service through SICODI digital certification to maximize the resources applied to this constitutional act with greater efficiency for effective auditing. The focus of the first part of this study is to evaluate the tasks of positions that forward the TCE/RJ objectives and the profile characteristics of employees of the inspection area on personnel performance beginning with defined concepts and purposes. Questionnaires for auditors and technicians of the area were approved for this specific purpose to analyze the duties of positions and employee profiles. The second part of this study evaluates the TCE/RJ digital communication system according to theoretical reference and ISO/IEC Standard No. 9126-1, observing three dimensions: the content, usability and functionality. The results obtained, with the use of qualitative methods complemented by quantitative analysis, were positive for the implementation of telework in the inspection of personnel performance in relation to the analysts and technicians involved in this type of auditing as well as in relation to the TCE/RJ digital communication system.

This dissertation adds new evidences and explanations to two distinct streams of debate. The first one refers to the globalisation (or dissemination) of technological innovative capabilities in the context of newly industrialised economies. The second one refers to common generalisations about the deterioration of the innovative capabilities in Latin American countries after 1990. This study was motivated by a lack of empirical studies focused on the relationship between the globalisation of innovative capabilities and sources to build them up in emerging organisations, especially R&D institutes. This dissertation is focused on the globalisation of innovative capabilities at the information and communication technology industry in Brazil. The globalisation of innovative capabilities is measured by the technological capabilities types and levels of 18 national R&D institutes related to this industry. Besides, this dissertation examines sources to build up innovative capabilities in the sampled institutes, namely: their intra-organisational learning processes and the linkages established with firms and the technological infra-structure. The study is based on first-hand empirical evidences, collected by different data-gathering sources in an extensive fieldwork. The data were examined with analytical frameworks, organised in the light of the theoretical basis of the study. The study has found the dissemination of innovative capabilities has been occurring in the Brazilian ICT industry with the involvement of the technological infra-structure with innovative activities. Besides that, the variety of the intra-organisational learning processes and the types of linkages established with technological infra-structure and firms have been influencing the development of innovative capabilities. The evidences that emerge from this study contradict common generalizations and arguments about the inexistence of innovative activities and about the technological infra-structure weakness in emerging or newly industrialized economies.
Sistema de pós-venda para organizações de serviços sem fins lucrativos : estudo de caso no SEBRAE/RS

Um dos principais desafios das atividades de pós-venda é a fidelização de clientes, o que inclui atividades como avaliação de satisfação, tratamento das reclamações e recepção de sugestões para o aumento da qualidade de serviços prestados, apoiadas por sistemas de informações que auxiliem na tomada de decisões, na implantação da estratégia competitiva e na gerência de processos críticos. No entanto, este gerenciamento do relacionamento com os clientes pode não surtir os efeitos esperados se não houver um planejamento sistêmico envolvendo o processo, os sistemas de suporte e as pessoas envolvidas. Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal descrever e analisar o processo de atendimento ao cliente e a implantação de um sistema de atendimento em situação de pós-venda no Serviço de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - SEBRAE/RS. Uma organização privada sem fins lucrativos que, sob a ameaça de extinção de recursos compulsórios, foi levada a reavaliar seu direcionamento estratégico e buscar auto-sustentação, necessitando adequar-se às exigências de mercado, com melhoria de qualidade de produtos e de sua gestão de relacionamento com clientes. O método adotado foi o estudo de caso. Foi analisado o mercado, os concorrentes, os clientes e os produtos oferecidos. Também verificou-se a estrutura interna, no que se refere aos canais de contato com o cliente, tecnologia de informação disponível e o direcionamento estratégico da empresa. Após o diagnóstico da sua situação de atendimento foi implementado um sistema de pós-venda, o qual buscou sanar algumas dificuldades detectadas e uma maior integração entre as diferentes áreas da organização. O trabalho conclui que o novo sistema implementado mostrou-se satisfatório em seu desenho e funcionamento e também em termos de resultados para a instituição. Ao final da pesquisa, são destacados alguns pontos importantes para que haja uma otimização da eficiência em propostas similares no campo da gestão do pós-venda.

This study aimed to focus on aspects of public administration concerning the implementation of the public policy of complementary blood collection by the itinerant and scheduled PPCCIPS services either trough off local unity or mobile unit blood collection operations, which are managed by the State Institute of Hematology Arthur de Siqueira Cavalcanti - HEMORIO. The case study method was used in that public health institutional field, in search for a better understanding of responsibilities and management related to collection, serology, fractionation, storage and distribution of blood supply to almost all public hospitals and clinics, summed up to agreements with the single health system of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Bibliographic references, documentary and field data obtained through interviews and systematic observation in the public servants of HEMORIO workplaces, were treated by the analysis of the content method and the results of this research revealed the complexity of those services, and needs in outstanding aspects of infrastructure, equipment, logistics and personnel, which are critical for the achievement of the increased public collection of blood in the Rio de Janeiro State, endorsing the suggestions for the implementation of PPCCIPS in HEMORIO. The main point found in this research results concern the immanent ethical commitment of that public service personnel, including staff members and low ranking members as well, perceived due to a brief philosophical overlook on that personnel¿s attitudes. An important strategic aspect was revealed by the need for excellence of midia communications and education programs to implement the community involvement in the whole process. Final reflections point out that personnel posture is considered vital for the quality of the expected care of the technical activities and also for the quality of its final products release to the local public, fluminense, which is the irreplaceable human blood, and their derivatives. Despite the author¿s effort in this dissertation there is much more to be studied on that crucial theme.

o motivo central deste estudo é investigar e checar até que ponto o calendário promocional planejado, influencia o desempenho de vendas do varejo de confecções nas lojas do Shopping Vitória. Buscamos verificar se a ausência desta ferramenta mercadológica, ou a sua utilização parcial, afeta diretamente os resultados de atração de clientes potenciais, de concretização de vendas, da retenção e fidelização de clientes, do posicionamento da marca e da loja e sua imagem no mercado. Com a crescente competição global, o mercado brasileiro está atraindo grandes cadeias varejistas internacionais, o que também implica na modernização do mercado e na busca de evolução profissional pelos administradores. F oram levantados e comparados dados secundários de empresas que utilizam o calendário promocional de modo mais profissional e de outras que apenas seguem as promoções tradicionais do Shopping Vitória, para verificar os resultados de vendas (venda média per capita) e da sazonalidade das vendas.

China emerges in the world as a potential economic leader and it is poised as the one of the strongest commercial partners of Brazil. China is already the third largest importer of Brazilian products and services and the prediction is to even increase that participation in the Brazilian export volume in the near future. As a consequence, there is a significant increase in commercial alliances between Brazilians and Chinese, which shows the need for the Brazilians to better understand the cultural differences when negotiating with the Chinese. The purpose of this research is to bring, from a Chinese point of view, the cultural difference in the negotiation process between Brazilians and Chinese. A better understanding of those differences will allow the Brazilians to adopt a better negotiation strategy with the Chinese in order to bring a better result. The research was developed by conducting 5 interviews with Chinese executives highly experienced in negotiation with the Brazilians. The results of this research show commons points indicated by the interviewers that have a direct impact on the negotiation process between Chinese and Brazilians.

The electronic commerce has become a channel of advertising, commercialization and distribution of products and services, continuously increasing it¿s importance in terms of both physical and financial volumes, but still exist many gaps in the knowledge about the choice process of sales channels in the electronic commerce. The objective of this work is to raise and quantify the relevant factors in the choice of these channels in Brazil. The identification of the relevant factors was made through depth interviews with consumers, users of electronic commerce, as well as through the existing theoretical referential on the subject. The quantification of these factors was carried out with book purchasers by electronic commerce, through quantitative research, using the methodology of conjoint analysis, where the price was the most important factor, followed by delivery time, positive experience on previous purchase, usability of the site, positive recommendation of friends and the site brand. These results indicate as important attributes: price, confidence, usability and brand.

Due to the crisis over rigid automation that occurred around 1960, management models essentially fordist, have gradually become more flexible. The software factories, however, that emerged in the nineties manufacturing the most advanced technological products, adopted eminently fordist controls and seem to be going contrary to the evolutionary cycle that organizations tend to follow. The alternation between rigid and flexible management models of these software factories, observed under continuum fordism (0) ______ (1) post-fordism, as well as the limitations of the metaphor that emerges given the nature of the software they manufacture, constitutes the object of the study.

This dissertation seeks to add new evidence to the international debate on globalization of innovation in the developing countries context. Globalization of innovation, in this dissertation, is defined and measured by the types, levels and rate of innovative technological capability accumulation and the underlying technological learning processes (sources of capabilities) at the firm level in late-industrializing countries ¿ or developing countries. This relationship is examined within a large transnational corporation (TNC) subsidiary of the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Brasil: Motorola do Brasil during over the period from 1996 to 2006. In the international literature there is a strong debate on the extent to which innovative technological capabilities have been spreading internationally. But, the most of the studies are focused on early industrialized countries. In other words, there is still a scarcity of analysis, mainly at the firm level, from the perspective of developing countries. This dissertation supports itself in analytical basis developed in the international literature on accumulation of technological capabilities and learning in the context of developing countries. The learning processes examined in this dissertation are: (i) intra-firm learning processes; (ii) inter-firm learning processes (links between mother and sister companies); and (iii) links between the firm and other organizations of the innovation system (universities, research institutes, among others). Based on first-hand empirical evidence, qualitative and quantitative, collected on the basis of extensive fieldwork, this dissertation examines these issues with adequate level of detail and depth, in this large company in Brazil. The study results suggest that: Concerning the path of the technological capability accumulation, the firm exhibited heterogeneity in the path of accumulation of technological capabilities to distinct functions. For the functions Software Engineering and Process and Management Project the firm reached the Level 6 (Innovative Intermediate Superior), on a scale that ranges from 1 to 7; In relation to technological capability sources, the firm deliberately sought and built sources of knowledge in order to develop and sustain its innovative technological capabilities. The dissertation, thus, contributes to adding new empirical evidence to the debate on globalization of innovative capabilities from a late-industrializing perspective.

This study aims at understanding the entrepreneurial process and the capacity of the incubators of promoting the technical training of the entrepreneurs as well as developing projects, turning them into prosperous companies. The bibliography about this topic is recent and it is based on actual cases and experiences. The development of the sector is quite big and has been happening with a certain speed, creating a demand for studies and scientific production. Due to the fact that it is an exploratory research, the chosen method was the case study, from which we aim at obtaining current information, representative of the reality. The universe of this research will be the incubators of companies that have a technological basis, the sample of which being the companies that are in the ¿Gênesis Institute¿, the incubator of companies of PUC-RIO. From the results, it will be possible to see entrepreneurial processes, training of businessmen, technological development and generation of prosperous companies. The theoretical reference presents the concepts of entrepreneurialship and IEBTs.

A possibilidade de interagir em tempo real com o consumidor, ao contrário dos monólogos que normalmente caracterizam os tradicionais meios de marketing, alterou drasticamente o jeito como o Customer Service pode ser oferecido, pois permite pesquisas e compras de produtos e serviços on-line, o que representa um maior conforto para o homem contemporâneo, cujo tempo é bem escasso. O mercado representa um papel central na economia de qualquer nação, facilitando a troca de informações, bens, serviços e pagamentos, além de criar valores econômicos para compradores, vendedores, intermediários e para a sociedade de modo geral. Os mercados provêem a infra-estrutura física que permite que as transações entre os compradores e os vendedores ocorram. Dessa forma, entende-se que Mercado e Negociação eletrônica são especializações dos conceitos gerais de Mercado e Negociação. O uso de meios eletrônicos e, mais especificamente, o uso da Internet como recurso para promover o comércio, tem revolucionado todas as formas de comercialização existentes, promovendo o surgimento de novos tipos de mercados eletrônicos, os mercados baseados em Internet. Com tais vantagens, os mercados eletrônicos geram novas oportunidades de negócios, proporcionam novas estratégias para se atingir o consumidor, o fornecedor e os intermediários que estejam dispostos a somar valores na integração cliente/fornecedor. Mercados eletrônicos melhoram as informações compartilhadas entre compradores e fornecedores e ajudam a reduzir o custo de logística permitindo promoções rápidas, entregas imediatas e inventários reduzidos. É a infra-estrutura da informação substituindo sistemas de distribuição física. Foi, portanto, sobre esta temática que buscou-se desenvolver todo o trabalho de pesquisa, enfocando-se um caso real: Vitória Web Car, por ser uma organização que direcionou o seu foco para a qualidade dos serviços, como base para o seu crescimento e diferenciação no mercado do varejo virtual brasileiro.

Trata do Processo Decisório desenvolvido por todos aqueles que se envolvem no Planejamento de Marketing, como ponto de partida para se chegar ao Plano de Midia. Aborda as variáveis inseridas no processo e a metodologia utilizada, tanto pelos profissionais bibliográfica. Formula, por fim, orientação com base heurística, um modelo normativo prescritivo do processo decisão que, partindo do Planejamento de Marketing, leva ao Planejamento de Midia.
