Com este trabalho procura-se encontrar uma solução através de um modelo para a gestão do conhecimento numa organização internacional com base em tecnologia web 2.0 que sirva de plataforma colaborativa na criação e disseminação de conhecimento para uma comunidade de prática virtual, mas também que sirva de repositório da memória organizacional. Pretende-se, igualmente, demonstrar um novo modelo de organização social e económico, no qual se assume uma orientação para as pessoas enquanto elemento de um sistema social mais amplo, globalizado e disperso, ligado pelas tecnologias de participação e colaboração através do acesso à internet, que encontra na utilização destas ferramentas um interface para participação que vai desde a cidadania, à produção intelectual, criação de conhecimento e ao negócio, neste caso relacionado com uma prática, a gestão de recursos humanos nos países lusófonos. No decurso do projeto, estabeleceram-se contactos e reuniões de trabalho na sede da comunidade interessada, a CRHLP – Confederação de Profissionais de Recursos Humanos de Língua Portuguesa, cujos resultados constam do presente relatório para explicação das várias fases do projeto. O projeto culmina com uma proposta de um site colaborativo com base num Wiki (site Wiki), tecnologia de colaboração online, a Wiki-CRHLP – Plataforma de colaboração para a partilha do conhecimento de uma rede de prática virtual (rede profissional internacional).

A onda de protestos globais de 2011 reacendeu o debate sobre as potencialidades e limitações que derivam da incorporação de novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TIC) por parte dos movimentos sociais. Que características diferenciam os movimentos sociais tradicionais dos contemporâneos? Quais os efeitos transformativos da apropriação das novas tecnologias por parte dos grupos de ação coletiva? De que modo as tecnologias digitais podem contribuir para o engajamento cívico e político? Esta dissertação pretende refletir sobre estas questões, através da análise de distintos casos de estudo onde que se incluem os mais mediáticos movimentos sociais dos últimos anos: a revolução tunisina e egípcia enquanto exemplos ilustrativos da “Primavera Árabe”; o caso islandês, onde as manifestações culminaram num inovador projeto de e-democracy; e o movimento espanhol 15M/Indignados, que mobilizou milhares de pessoas em prol de uma renovação do sistema democrático.

This work project is based on the MIES (Map of Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship in Portugal) database and it aims to understand the characteristics of social business models in the context of the portuguese market, by determining whether they follow the proposed characteristics by John Elkington and Pamela Hartigan, and then adding to their matrix. Furthermore, it tries to determine success patterns by comparing a group of successful social ventures with a group of less successful ones, with the objective of increasing the knowledge of social entrepreneurship as it applies to Portugal and provide a framework for future study.

Crowdfunding, as we know it today, is a very recent activity that was born almost accidentally in the end of the 90’s decade. Due to the advent of the internet and the social networks, entrepreneurs are now able to promote their projects to a very large community. Whether it is composed by family, friends, acquaintances or simply people that are interested in the same topic or share the passion, the community is able to fund new ventures by individually investing modest amounts of money. In return, the entrepreneur can offer symbolic rewards, shares or other financial returns. New crowdfunding platforms are born almost every day all over the world, offering a new way of raising capital for their projects or a new way to invest their money in innovative ventures. Although crowdfunding is still finding its place in the financial services, successful cases such as Kickstarter demonstrate the power of the crowd in boosting creativity and productivity, financing thousands of projects by raising millions of dollars from thousands of investors. Due to regulatory restrictions, the most prominent model for now is reward-based crowdfunding, where the investors are prized with symbolic returns or privileged access to the products or services offered by the entrepreneurs. Other models such as peer-to-peer lending are also surging, allowing borrowers access to capital at a lower cost compared to so-called traditional financial institutions, and offering lenders a higher rate of return. But when it comes to offering shares to investors, i.e. using equity-based crowdfunding, entrepreneurs face regulatory obstacles in almost every country, where legislation was passed decades ago with the objective of promoting financially-capable ventures and protecting investors. Access to capital has become more difficult after the global economic recession of 2008, and for most countries it will not get easier in the near future, leaving start-ups and small enterprises with few options to start or expand their operations. In this study we attempt to answer the following research questions: how has equity-based crowdfunding evolved since its creation? Where and how has equity-based crowdfunding been implemented so far? What are the constraints and opportunities for implementing equity-crowdfunding in the world, and more particularly in Portugal? Finally, we will discuss the risks of crowdfunding and reflect on the future of this industry.

Crowdfunding is a collaborative initiative, usually via internet, where people network to collectively raise funds in order to invest in and support projects delivered by other people or organizations. Tools such as crowdfunding are born and thrive in a grassroots environment, with a strong potential to positively disrupt the entrepreneurial generation setting and grow to a position of significant relevance in society, namely at a time when alternatives to traditional forms of finance are welcome and the technology to deliver them is abundant. Entrepreneurship is the act of transforming ideas and projects into economic products or services. Entrepreneurship related to starting new businesses is better known as start‐up ventures. Entrepreneurs face a series of challenges, from idea conception and business plan design, to obtaining finance, promoting new products and services, generating revenues and profits and generally growing and sustaining a business for the long‐run. These challenges can be overwhelming, namely in the start‐up phase of a new venture, leaving several ideas on paper without them having a chance to “grow legs and walk”. This paper and its analysis offer important insights about the contribution of crowdfunding to facilitate the attainment of critical factors for successful entrepreneurship. With extensive use of real practical examples, leveraging previous analytical studies of other crowdfunding implications and reviewing expert literature, by interviewing entrepreneurs, crowdfunding platform owners and by benefitting from hands on experience of working in such an organization, we intend to clarify the impact of crowdfunding in what we considered to be 7 key entrepreneurial requirements detailed further in the introduction section and later in the body of the paper. The findings have implications for entrepreneurs, naturally, and for business generation theory, extending current entrepreneurial guidelines with innovative tools and methodologies capable of sustaining successful ventures in a newly highlighted cooperative world. We live in innovative times where the channels for the transfer of funds and resources suffer disruptive changes with the potential to significantly improve the ability to generate new initiatives for the well‐being of entrepreneurs and all related communities.

(Excerto) In times past, learning to read, write and do arithmetic was to get on course to earn the “writ of emancipation” in society. These skills are still essential today, but are not enough to live in society. Reading and critically understanding the world we live in, with all its complexity, difficulties and challenges, require not only other skills (learning to search for and validate information, reading with new codes and grammar, etc) but, to a certain extent, also metaskills, matrixes and mechanisms that are transversal to the different and new literacies, are necessary. They are needed not just to interpret but equally to communicate and participate in the little worlds that make up our everyday activities as well as, in a broader sense, in the world of the polis, which today is a global world.

This book was produced in the scope of a research project entitled “Navigating with ‘Magalhães’: Study on the Impact of Digital Media in Schoolchildren”. This study was conducted between May 2010 and May 2013 at the Communication and Society Research Centre, University of Minho, Portugal and it was funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (PTDC/CCI-COM/101381/2008). As we shall explain in more detail later in this book, the main objective of that research project was to analyse the impact of the Portuguese government programme named ´e-escolinha´ launched in 2008 within the Technological Plan for Education. This Plan responds to the principles of the Lisbon Strategy signed in 2000 and rereleased in the Spring European Council of 2005.

Estudios epidemiológicos, reportan que la fobia social es uno de los trastornos de ansiedad de alta prevalencia en la población mundial, que oscila entre el 7 y el 13%. La incidencia de este trastorno se ubica entre el 13 y 14% en personas de 15 a 54 años, manifestándose antes de los 25 años (Furmark,et al 2002). De esta manera, se destaca la importancia de el estudio y abordaje de este trastorno en adolecentes, considerando que es en esta etapa del desarrollo donde se empieza a manifestar, y donde la intervención temprana se torna fundamental. Este trastorno afecta la vida familiar, social y laboral de una persona, dado que la persona evita exponerse a lugares públicos o a situaciones donde anticipa la evaluación negativa. Las consecuencias del trastorno son variadas, ya que los individuos pueden perder su trabajo por miedo a la exposición, fracasar en los estudios o fracazar en la concertación de citas y la vida en pareja. El miedo a hablar en público, por otro lado, es una forma particular de ansiedad social que implica la preocupación de que el público va a pensar que el rendimiento de uno es inadecuado (o que evaluaranm negativamente la persona o el rendimiento de la misma). La relevancia social de esta problemática requiere de tratamientos más eficientes, dada la creciente prevalencia de estos trastornos en los últimos años a nivel internacional. En este sentido la terapia de exposición en diferentes modalidades, acompañada dereestructuración cognitiva se ha transformado en un abordjae de elección para estos trastornos ara el tratamiento de fobia social. Entre las modalidades más novedosas en la actualidad, se destaca la utilización de programas basados en escenarios virtuales y la utilización de la telepsicología para el tratamiento de la fobia social y el miedo a hablar en público. La exposición con realidad virtual o mediante simulaciones no sólo da la oportunidad de capitalizar las habilidades de imaginación del paciente sino también las suplementa con experiencias visuales y auditivas simuladas. Además expone al paciente a un ambiente virtual que contiene la situación temida en vez de llevar al paciente a una situación real o pedirle que imagine los estímulos asociados, aumentando de esta manera la eficiencia del tratamiento En particular en nuestro país, la investigación en este campo es inexistente y sus aplicaciones son incipientes, por lo que la adaptación, desarrollo y evaluación de programas de tratamiento clínico utilizando modalidades terapéuticas innovadoras, a la vez de otorgar atención a la comunidad que padece este tipo de trastornos, es fundamental Por esto, el propósito del presente proyecto es el desarrollo, la instrumentación y evaluación de software de telepsicología y tecnologías de realidad virtual orientados a la valoración y tratamiento de la Fobia Social y el miedo a Hablar en Público. Específicamente, el objetivo es adaptar, instrumentar y evaluar un sistema de tratamiento con base en ambientes virtuales para el tratamiento de la Fobia Social transferidos a nuestro equpio de investigación por el grupo de investigación del Laboratorio de Enseñanza Virtual y Ciberpsicología de la UNAM. También nos proponemos desarrollar dos softwares de telepsicología con videos digitales para la valoración y tratamiento del miedo a hablar en público. Finalmente, otro objetivo es el desarrollo de un instrumento de evaluación diagnóstica de la Fobia Social y el Miedo a Hablar en Público en estudiantes universitarios, el cual será incorporado a un software junto a los videos digitales.
