The present study aimed to identify the presence of indicators of stress, levels of stress and overload with the formal and informal caregivers of cancer patients. Participated in the survey 33 caregivers of cancer patients in total, 16 formal and 17 informal. To collect data, we used: 1) Roadmap for characterization of participants; 2) Inventory of Stress Symptoms Lipp - ISSL and 3) Protocol Zarit Burden Interview - ZBT. The results revealed that 43 % of informal carers were in the resistance phase, 29 % in the burnout stage, 14 % at the stage of exhaustion and almost 14 % in the alert phase. Formal caregivers 25 % are in the exhaustion phase and 75 % in the resistance. The overload has also performed on a larger scale in informal than formal caregivers, 47 % to 18,7 % charge respectively. However, the results revealed no statistically significant difference between groups for the incidence of stress but indicated a difference against overloading pointing out that professional caregivers in the incidence is lower. The results suggest the need to implement support for informal and formal caregivers programs, develop coping strategies, handling the situations of overload and stress, aiming to better quality of life for the caregiver, and consequently for the patient who is receiving care.

Should taste be discussed? Are there themes in the human life that should not be discussed? Why? What is it aimed when certain themes are discussed or not? The goal of this short paper is to consider the use of so called forbidden drugs in the State. Does the State want to deal with it? Can the State face this problem properly? How has the State tried to deal with such a situation and such a problem? Four researchers of a german university put forward their points of view according to their historical and cultural background. For them this question must be openly and plainly discussed in order to assume that it is also a problem of public health and not only of criminality. In this way a simple prohibition does not solve the problem. The State has the responsibility of elucidating the theme in order to enable the citizen to the use of drugs and to the responsibility for its consequences.

This article discusses the relationships between the educational levels in São Paulo, focusing in some aspects such as the integration process (higher and basic education) and the access to the public higher education institutions. Starting on analyses of those relations in the context of the educational policy of the last decades, we question the eicacy of the recent proposition named Pimesp (Program of inclusion with merit in the public higher education of São Paulo) to transform the great structural lines of these access mechanisms and integration. It is supported that programs like this, in one hand, are not new and, in the other hand, they reinforce some tendencies which are already in progress in the policies to the Brazilian higher education since 1990s. Besides that, they are not able to improve the efective conditions of the secondary public education. In the inal part we state that to face these conditions of access and the possibility of a greater integration between the levels of teaching is necessary a set of systemic educational policies, with massive public investments, long term planning, among other things that are not on the horizons of Pimesp.

Even though we have an advanced protective legislation regarding children, the maltreatment perpetrated against them is still considered a public health problem in our country, with significant rates in the 0 to 6 years old range. This practice results in serious damages to the development of the assaulted individual: mental health, social adaptation and integration, and even repetition of the learned model. The school, although required (art. 245, ECA) to denounce and notify suspected and/or proven cases of violence to the eligible public agencies, has a very low percentage of participation in these notifications. Therefore, the objective of this study was to map the conception, placement and forwarding done by kindergarten professional about suspected and/or proven cases of maltreatment in their students to determine how such phenomenon is known, recognized, (re)constructed and (re)produced in social relations. The surveyed institutions were five kindergarten public schools, located in a mid-size city in the state of São Paulo. The adopted methodological procedures were the collection and analysis of quantitative-qualitative data, based on the anthropological research method on urban social groups. To collect the data, we used the following instruments: the questionnaire (38) and the interviews (6), applied in the period of October/2009 to May/2010. The analysis of the obtained data indicated some factors that hinder an effective positioning in fighting violence: professionals report the presence of suspected maltreatment (45%), however, the allegations are not investigated; the lack of knowledge and/or distorted concepts about the legislation, and also indicators of the presence of maltreatment, of its negative consequences to the development of the child, the false belief in the sanctity of the family and that maltreatment only occurs in the ghetto, in the lower classes... Os dados estatísticos sobre repetência, abandono e evasão escolar subsidiam a análise da temática.
