Workflow management systems aim at the controlled execution of complex application processes in distributed and heterogeneous environments. These systems will shape the structure of information systems in business and non-business environments. E business and system integration is a fertile soil for WF and groupware tools. This thesis aims to study WF and groupware tools in order to gather in house knowledge of WF to better utilize WF solutions in future, and to focus on SAP Business Workflow in order to find a global solution for Application Link Enabling support for system integration. Piloting this solution in Nokia collects the experience of SAP R/3 WF tool for other development projects in future. The literary part of this study will guide to the world of business process automation providing a general description of the history, use and potentials of WF & groupware software. The empirical part of this study begins with the background of the case study describing the IT environment initiating the case by introducing SAP R/3 in Nokia, the communication technique in use and WF tool. Case study is focused in one solution with SAP Business Workflow. This study provides a concept to monitor communication between ERP systems and to increase the quality of system integration. Case study describes a way create support model for ALE/EDI interfaces. Support model includes monitoring organization and the workflow processes to solve the most common IDoc related errors.

The application of one-dimensional proton high-resolution magic angle spinning (¹H HR-MAS) NMR combined with a typical advantages of solid and liquid-state NMR techniques was used as input variables for the multivariate statistical analysis. In this paper, different cultivars of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) developed and in development by Embrapa - Arroz e Feijão were analyzed by ¹H HR-MAS, which have been demonstrated to be a valuable tool in its differentiation according chemical composition and avoid the manipulation of the samples as used in other techniques.

National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) established in the decree number 54 maximum allowed levels for Ni and Pb in mineral and natural waters at 20 µg L-1 and 10 µg L-1, respectively. For screening analysis purposes, the high-resolution continuum source flame atomic absorption spectrometry technique (HR-CS FAAS) was evaluated for the fast-sequential determination of nickel and lead in mineral waters.Two atomic lines for Ni (232.003 nm - main and 341.477 nm - secondary) and Pb (217.0005 nm - main and 283.306 nm - secondary) at different wavelength integrated absorbance (number of pixels) were evaluated. Sensitivity enhanced with the increase of the number of pixels and with the summation of the atomic lines absorbances. The main figures of merit associated to the HR-CS FAAS technique were compared with that obtained by line-source flame atomic absorption spectrometry (LS FAAS). Water samples were pre-concentrated about 5-fold by evaporation before analysis. Recoveries of Pb significantly varied with increased wavelength integrated absorbance. Better recoveries (92-93%) were observed for higher number of pixels at the main line or summating the atomic lines (90-92%). This influence was irrelevant for Ni, and recoveries in the 92-104% range were obtained in all situations.

Este trabalho objetivou estudar a interação genótipos em ambientes de clones de Eucalyptus em quatro ambientes do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Os ensaios foram conduzidos nas áreas da empresa CMPC Celulose Riograndense, nos Municípios de Minas do Leão (Horto Florestal Cambará), Encruzilhada do Sul (Horto Florestal Capivara), Dom Feliciano (Horto Florestal Fortaleza) e Vila Nova do Sul (Horto Florestal São João). No ano 2007, foi implantada uma rede de testes clonais com 864 clones de Eucalyptus, pertencentes a 37 espécies e híbridos. Aos 3 anos de idade, foram mensurados o diâmetro à altura do peito (dap) e a altura total (Ht) das árvores dos experimentos. O incremento médio anual (IMA) foi calculado de acordo com o volume individual por clone e o estande de plantas por hectare na idade de avaliação do teste clonal. Os resultados da correlação genotípica entre os ambientes variaram de 0,39 a 0,56, demonstrando que ocorreu interação genótipos x ambientes significativa dos caracteres avaliados. Esses resultados indicam que é necessário selecionar clones específicos, nas combinações de ambientes com baixa correlação genética entre si. Ocorreu baixa correção genética entre os ambientes Cambará x Capivara; Cambará x São João; Capivara x Fortaleza; Capivara x São João; e Fortaleza x São João. Dessa maneira, para este estudo foram necessárias três unidades de manejo para minimizar os efeitos da interação genótipos x ambientes. Incluindo a seleção por estabilidade, adaptabilidade e os dois atributos simultaneamente, ocorreu mudança de clones e de posição entre os clones no ordenamento de seleção. Com a seleção simultânea por estabilidade e adaptabilidade (MHPRVG), os ganhos aumentaram em comparação com a seleção pelos valores genotípicos preditos entre os ambientes, principalmente, e houve incremento dos ganhos em relação à testemunha comercial. Por exemplo, os cinco melhores clones pelo critério MHPRVG apresentaram-se 56% superiores à testemunha comercial para a característica produtividade em volume.

Objective : to evaluate the effect of topical delivery of latex cream-gel in acute cutaneous wounds induced on the back of rats. Methods : we subjected sixteen rats to dermo-epidermal excision of a round dorsal skin flap, with 2.5cm diameter. We divided the animals into two groups: Latex Group: application of cream-gel-based latex throughout the wound bed on postoperative days zero, three, six and nine; Control group: no treatment on the wound. Photographs of the lesions were taken on the procedure day and on the 6th and 14th postoperative days, for analyzing the area and the larger diameter of the wound. We carried out euthanasia of all animals on the 14th postoperative day, when we resected he dorsal skin and the underlying muscle layer supporting the wound for histopathological study. Results : there was no statistically significant difference in the percentage of wound closure, in the histopathological findings or in the reduction of the area and of the largest diameter of the wounds among the groups studied on the 14th postoperative day. Conclusion : according to the experimental conditions in which the study was conducted, latex cream-gel did not interfere in the healing of acute cutaneous wounds in rats.

Business On-Demand solutions are widely used by SMEs in the world today. When I started working in SAP, SAP had just launched its first version mobile solutions for Business On-Demand solutions. SAP ByDesign mobile solution is great, but I believe we could do something even better on mobile phones. My job is focusing on mobile application development. Therefore, I have lots of thoughts about how we could make the mobile solutions better serve desktop solutions and how to distinguish the mobile solutions. Finally I decide to have a further research into this area. The purpose of this thesis is trying to find out how to improve the mobile solutions for Business On-Demand, find out its benefit and limits, and distinguish SaaS mobile solutions from desktop ones. In order to conduct this research, I had some online literature search to find out the Business On-Demand market and major players in this area. I compare the materials from public internet with the ones that are used internally in SAP. I had some interviews with SAP solution manager and SAP‟s potential customers. I finally made some pro-posals for mobile SaaS solutions which I believe will make the solutions better present and much helpful to the customers.

Liiketoimintaa tukevien palvelujen etätuotanto edustaa uutta kansainvälistymisen muotoa. Kehittyvien markkinoiden nousu yhdistettynä yritysten arvoketjutoimintojen kansainvälistymiseen on luonut yrityksille kasvavan paineen etsiä parasta sijaintia toiminnoilleen. Monikansalliset yritykset ovat yhä useammin korvanneet paikallisia henkilöstöpalvelujaan siirtymällä globaaliin malliin jaettujen palvelujen tuotannossa. Tämä diplomityö on toteutettu tukeakseen UPM:n henkilöstöhallintoa globaalin palvelukeskuksen perustamisessa Puolaan. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on laajentaa käsitystä henkilöstöpalvelujen tarjontamallin uudistamiseen johtaneista tekijöistä ja motiiveista. Empiirisen tutkimuksen tärkein tavoite on tukea rekrytoinnin hallinnollisten töiden siirtoa globaaliin palvelukeskukseen palvelun laadun säilyessä vähintään aikaisemmalla tasolla. Tutkimuksen tulokset painottavat strategista näkökulmaa muutokseen. Strategiset syyt UPM:n henkilöstöhallinnon globaalin palvelukeskuksen perustamiselle sisältävät ylikapasiteetin ja päällekkäisten toimintojen vähentämisen eri maissa. Muutos lisää palvelun joustavuutta sekä edesauttaa toiminnan läpinäkyvyyttä, ennustettavuutta ja kustannusten valvontaa. Onnistuneesti toteutetut jaetut palvelut voivat toimia hyvänä lähtökohtana tehokkaiden henkilöstöpalvelujen tuottamiselle.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the possibility of producing circulatory arrest by occlusion of the pulmonary trunk as an alternative to the venous inflow occlusion through the left hemithorax. Eight healthy mongrel dogs were divided in two groups. Group I underwent 4 minutes of outflow occlusion and Group II was submitted to 8 minutes of circulatory arrest. Outflow occlusion was performed through left thoracotomy and pericardiotomy by passing a Rumel tourniquet around the pulmonary trunk. Physical examination, electrocardiography, echocardiography, blood gas analyses, hemodynamic, and oxygen transport variables were obtained before and after the procedure. The dogs from Group I did not have any clinical, electrocardiographic, echocardiographic, or hemo-dynamic abnormalities after anesthetic recover. In the Group II, only one dog survived, which had no clinical, electrocardiographic, or echocardiographic abnormalities. In this last dog, just after releasing the occlusion, it was detected increases in the following parameters: heart rate (HR), systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure (SAP; DAP; MAP), pulmonary artery pressure (PAP), pulmonary wedge pressure (PWP), central venous pressure (CVP), cardiac output (CO), systolic index (SI), cardiac index (CI), left and right ventricular stroke work (LVSW; RVSW), oxygen delivery index (DO2), oxygen consumption index (VO2), and oxygen extraction (O2 ext). Moreover, the oxygen content of arterial and mixed venous blood (CaO2; CvO2), and the arterial and mixed venous partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2; PvO2) were decreased 5 minutes after circulatory arrest. Outflow occlusion is a feasible surgical procedure for period of 4 minutes of circulatory arrest.

Työhyvinvointi saa suomalaisessa työelämässä paljon huomiota juuri tällä hetkellä ja se on tunnis-tettu yrityksen kannalta hyödylliseksi alueeksi, johon kannattaa panostaa. Matalat työhyvinvointiin liittyvät kustannukset, organisaation parempi kilpailukyky ja maine sekä korkea henkilöstön tuotta-vuus ovat esimerkkejä työhyvinvoinnin kautta saavutettavista hyödyistä. Yritys voi parantaa hen-kilöstön työhyvinvointia panostamalla siihen ja tämän pitäisi näkyä suoraan myös työhyvinvointiin liittyvissä tunnusluvuissa, kuten sairauspoissaolo-, työkyvyttömyyseläke- ja vaihtuvuuskustannuk-sissa. Yritykset voivat hyödyntää työhyvinvoinnin panostusten ja kustannusten tunnuslukuja, jos niitä hallitaan onnistuneesti. Tällöin pitää tietää, mistä kustannukset koostuvat ja ymmärtää, millä pa-nostuksilla niihin voidaan vaikuttaa. Business Intelligence on termi, jolla tarkoitetaan kaikkea sel-laista organisaation tiedon hallintaa, jota tarvitaan liiketoiminnan johtamisessa. Sen tavoitteena on tukea organisaatiossa tapahtuvaa päätöksentekoa. Business Intelligence voidaan kuvata prosessina, jossa organisaatio kerää, yhdistelee ja analysoi tietoa eri tietolähteistä. Analysoinnin jälkeen yrityk-sellä on käytössään uutta tietämystä, jota voidaan hyödyntää päätöksenteossa. Toimivien Business Intelligence ratkaisujen ansiosta yrityksen päätöksenteon varmuus ja vaikuttavuus kasvaa. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, millainen on tehokas työhyvinvoinnin panostusten ja kustannusten hallintaan liittyvä Business Intelligence prosessi. Tehokas prosessi auttaa paranta-maan työhyvinvointiin tehtävien panostusten oikeellisuutta ja nostaa organisaation ymmärrystä omasta toiminnastaan. Tutkimusongelmaan on haettu vastauksia laadullisten tutkimusmenetelmien avulla haastattelemalla työhyvinvoinnin panostusten ja kustannusten tunnuslukuja seuraavia yrityk-siä. Tutkimuksen tulokset on analysoitu käyttämällä hyväksi kirjallisuuteen perustuvaa teema-ana-lyysia, jossa työhyvinvointiin ja Business Intelligenceen liittyvää teoriaa verrataan haastatteluista saatuihin vastauksiin. Tutkimuksen johtopäätöksenä tehokas työhyvinvoinnin panostusten ja kustannusten Business Intelligence prosessi voidaan kuvata perinteisten BI:n tasojen kautta. Työhyvinvoinnin panostusten ja kustannusten tunnuslukujen kerääminen onnistuu eri osapuolten välisen yhteistyön avulla. Tun-nusluvuista voi luoda merkityksellistä tietämystä, kun niistä saa tarkkaa tietoa ja niiden rinnalle tuodaan laadullista aineistoa työntekijöiden kokemuksista. Prosessia tukee se, jos teknologian kautta päätöksentekijä pystyy hankkimaan tarvittavat tiedot itse. Tulevaisuudessa olisi tärkeää, että saa-daan enemmän tietoa eri toimenpiteiden vaikuttavuudesta tunnuslukuihin, jotta päätöksiä voidaan tehdä luotettavamman tietämyksen varassa.
