Estudio de las técnicas de reconocimiento facial en obras de arte a través de la visión por computador

El objetivo de esta investigación es comprobar la utilidad de las técnicas actuales de reconocimiento facial a través de la visión por computador en entornos museísticos. Para alcanzar este fin, he seguido las estrategias de diseño y creación para crear una aplicación que me permita posteriormente realizar una serie de experimentos, los cuales me proporcionarán los datos necesarios con los que evaluar la funcionalidad de estas técnicas existentes en obras de arte, en mi caso concretamente, sobre cuadros.

Presentación de cómo organizar datos para que adopten patrones visuales que sean fácilmente perceptibles por los usuarios. Creación de herramientas que los usuarios puedan utilizar para analizar los datos y descubrir en ellos realidades en las que el diseñador, en ocasiones, ni siquiera había pensado.

Antimoniais empregados no tratamento da leishmaniose: estado da arte

Antimony preparations are the drugs of choice for the treatment of leishmaniasis over 90 years, a disease that currently affects 12 million people worldwide. Its introduction was based on 19th century concepts of therapeutic effects of metal salts as arsenicals and other metals, most of them abandoned due to toxic effects or better drugs. In the last three decades, there was a great improvement in the knowledge of cell biology and immunology of those infections, but chemotherapy has not been improved in the same strength. The structure and mechanism of action of the two pentavalent antimonial drugs of choice, meglumine antimoniate and sodium stibogluconate, are not well known and the contamination of those pharmaceutical by toxic contaminants have been verified.

Imobilização de enzimas a partir de "kit" comercial: determinação de parâmetros metabólicos em sangue animal empregando multicomutação em fluxo

Automatic flow procedures based on the multicommutation concept, dedicated to the determination of 3-hydroxybutyrate, glucose and cholesterol are proposed. The enzymes were immobilized on glass beads and packed into mini-columns that were coupled to a flow system. Sampling throughputs of 55, 40 and 40 determinations per hour, linear response from 10 to 150, 50 to 600, 25 to 125 mg L-1, detection limits of 1.5, 14 and 4 mg L-1 and relative standard deviations of 1, 2 and 2% for 3-hydroxybutyrate, glucose and cholesterol, respectively, were achieved.

Métodos imunoquímicos para análise de contaminantes ambientais: conceitos, estado da arte e perspectivas

Immunoassay techniques provide simple, powerful and inexpensive methods for analysis of environmental contaminants. However, the acceptance of immunoassays is dependent on the clear demonstration of quality and validity compared to more traditional techniques. In this review, primarily, the understanding and the fundamentals of immunoassay methods are given in order to make good use of immunoassays, especially of EIA tests. Special attention is given to the concepts related to the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) formats, such as inhibition concentration at 50% (IC50), detection limit (LOD), cross-reactivity (CR %). It is also explained why some immunoassays are quantitative methods whereas others can only be used as screening methods. A list of main commercial kits for detection of priority pollutants is given in order to help analysts. Others formats, such as flow-injection immunoassay analysis (FIIA), immunoassay chromatography and immunosensors are also cited.

Álvaro Cunqueiro y la defensa de la autosuficiencia del arte. Una cala en el 'Destino' de los años sesenta

Si bien Álvaro Cunqueiro había colaborado estrechamente con el semanario Destino durante la primera posguerra, hasta la década de los sesenta no volvió a cobrar cierto protagonismo en las páginas culturales de la revista. Es entonces, aún vigentes los últimos coletazos del realismo social en la novela española, cuando Destino enarboló el ejemplo de Cunqueiro como propuesta estética alternativa. En este trabajo glosaremos cómo la obra del escritor gallego se tomó como bandera a través de textos críticos de, fundamentalmente, Guillermo Díaz-Plaja, Antonio Vilanova, Néstor Luján o Joan Perucho. Cerâmicas bioativas: estado da arte

Bioactive glasses undergo corrosion with leaching of alkaline ions when exposed to body fluids. This results in the spontaneous formation of a layer of hydroxyapatite (HA), the mineral component of natural bone, which in turn can induce bone growth in vivo. This paper describes the different types of bioactive glasses, the characterization methods currently used, and the main factors that influence their bioactivity. Nucleation and crystallization, the main mechanisms involved in the formation of hydroxyapatite, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, are discussed as a function of the chemical composition and the reactivity of the surface of the material. Finally, promising applications are considered.

La revista barcelonesa 'El Arte de Curtir' y el quebracho colorado paraguayo: periodismo y economía

[spa]Este trabajo analiza el papel desempeñado por la revista El Arte de Curtir, creada en el año 1909 en la ciudad de Barcelona por los hermanos Pedro Pablo, Fernando y Carlos de Corral y Tomé, cuya Fábrica de Extractos Curtientes dedicada al quebracho colorado paraguayo fue la base de organización del extracto tánico utilizado en Cataluña para la curtición.

La Crónica Argentina de Ricardo Monner Sans en la Revista Comercial Ibero-Americana MERCURIO (1903-1927)

[esp]Se describe el accionar del literato catalán Ricardo Monner Sans, establecido en Buenos Aires en la última década del siglo XIX, que entre 1903 y 1927 contribuyó mensualmente su"Crónica Argentina" a la Revista Comercial Ibero-Americana MERCURIO de Barcelona. Los temas principales abordados en este artículo tratan las impresiones de Monner Sans acerca de las posibilidades económicas y mercantiles entre el país receptor y Cataluña, en especial a partir de la Primera Guerra Mundial.

O estado da arte da cromatografia associada à espectrometria de massas acoplada à espectrometria de massas na análise de compostos tóxicos em alimentos

Chromatography combined with several different detection systems is one of the more used and better performing analytical tools. Chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric detection gives highly selective and sensitive analyses and permits obtaining structural information about the analites and about their molar masses. Due to these characteristics, this analytical technique is very efficient when used to detect substances at trace levels in complex matrices. In this paper we review instrumental and technical aspects of chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry and the state of the art of the technique as it is applied to analysis of toxic substances in food.

Estudo de adsorção de compostos sulfurados utilizando um diesel comercial dopado com benzotiofeno e dibenzotiofeno

Desulphurization process by adsorption was studied employing a commercial diesel dooped with 1000 mg/L of benzothiophene and dibenzothiophene. The adsorbents materials employed were three types of activated alumina (acid, basic and neutral). For comparison, adsorption process was made also using oxidized diesel sample. The results showed that the adsorbents were selective for sulphur compounds removal from fuels. The contact time have influence in adsorption process achieving 80% of removal for not oxidized dibenzothiophene. The three studied alumina types showed similar behavior and a greater selective in dibenzothiophene adsorption than benzothiophene. Dibenzothiophene removal is more effective in samples not oxidized, whereas the benzothiophene was almost totally removed in oxidized sample.

Otimização dos parâmetros de produção de hidrolisados protéicos enzimáticos utilizando pescado de baixo valor comercial

The enzymatic modification of proteins has been widely studied with the aim of add value to low commercial value fish. The objective of this work was to evaluate and optimize the parameters involved in the production process of an enzymatic protein hydrolyzed with high protein content. The results showed that for Alcalase the most significant parameters were temperature, pH and substrate concentration and for Flavourzyme were pH, substrate concentration and enzyme concentration. It was obtained for Alcalase a predictive model for the recovered nitrogen and for Flavourzyme a predictive model for the hydrolysis degree.

We check the different disciplines that configure it and we analysethe paradigm of artistic education as a discipline (DBAE) and its passage to post-modernity. This example focuses thediscussion about the opportunity of adapting holistic educative models and the transition of the current educativeinnovation towards skill models

O estado da arte da cromatografia líquida de ultra eficiência

Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) retains the same principles as High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), but uses 1-2.1 mm i.d. columns with sub-2 µm particles. It is considered the newest advance in analytical separation science. The use of these small particles with mobile phases at high linear velocities increases resolution and detectability and decreases analysis time. Thus, the analyses are faster, the solvent volume is smaller, the efficiency is higher and the detectability is 2-3 times higher when compared with HPLC analysis.

Eletrocromatografia capilar: contextualização, estado da arte e perspectivas

Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) is a separation technique in which the mobile phase flow is based on the application of a voltage across a packed capillary, which generates an electroosmotic flow that transports the analytes along the capillary toward the detector. As it combines the separation mechanisms of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and of capillary electrophoresis (CE), CEC can be considered a hybrid of HPLC and CE. This review presents some fundamental aspects of CEC and is focused on the instrumental advances of the technique, such as column technology, operation modes and detection systems, presenting recent papers on these topics and some applications and perspectives about CEC.
