The main objectives and findings of this first research report are presented in this chapter."The Implementation of the Internet in the Spanish Education System: State of Affairs and Future Prospects" is a large-scale research project that seeks to obtain relevant data about the introduction and dissemination of Information and Communication Technology, particularly the internet, in the practical and organizational general procedures of the Spanish schools and high schools. The project articulates the processes of ICT implementation on the primary and secondary education levels embracing a holistic approach, propped up by an empirical and analytical research methodology. Thus, our survey does not intend to detect which is the impact of ICT on school activities but how all the agents involved in the school community incorporate ICT and what use they make of it. We are especially interested in identifying the teachers' pedagogical and professional uses of ICT, how students use it in their activities and to what extent it contributes in reinforcing teamwork and participation proceedings in the institutions, as well as the relations between the latter and their context. It is also of our interest to know the factors that exert the strongest influence on the way teachers, head teachers and students make use of ICT. Finally, we intend to identify the ways ICT may contribute to the improvementof educational practices.

This article highlights the contributions of the dialogic learning approach to educational theory, with the aim of providing some orientations in order to promote egalitarian and scientific educational practice. The seven principles of dialogic learning are discussed, along with other reproductionist theories and practices from the educational field, demonstrating how the former both surpass the latter. The article also reflects open dialogue with the critical theories of education which the dialogic learning theory is based on. These basic theories are, on the one hand, by authors who are distant in time but very close in their educational approach, such as Ferrer i Gurdia, Vygotsky, or Paulo Freire, and, on the other hand, by other contemporary authors in critical pedagogy. Each of the seven principles presented are provided along with a critical examination of a specific educational practice. The consequences of the implementation of dialogic learning are underlined here through an analysis of innovative and critical educational projects which are academically successful

El objetivo de este estudio es identificar factores que contribuyen a mantener un enfoque bsicamente instrumental para ensear los sistemas externos de representacin matemticos y lingsticos en las primeras edades de escolarizacin. En el estudio han participado 123 maestros de Educación Infantil de diversos centros escolares pblicos de Andaluca, Asturias, Catalua y Navarra que han asistido a cursos de formacin permanente del profesorado. El anlisis cualitativo realizado se basa en grupos de discusin a partir de tpicos. Los resultados evidencian la influencia de diversos factores: el currculo de Educación Infantil; las concepciones del profesorado; las presiones entre etapas educativas; y, finalmente, la presin social. La identificacin de los factores asociados a una enseanza instrumental de los sistemas externos de representacin puede entenderse como un tipo de informacin relevante acerca de las condiciones de la enseanza de estos sistemas que, adems, pueden servir de base para reconstruir las prcticas educativas

This article reviews the main contemporary international references on numerical knowledge acquisition in the kindergarten stage. Secondly it analyzes the instructions curricular in two countries-one Spanish-speaking Latin America (Chile) and one European (Spain) - to determine the extent to assume international benchmarks while comparing the curricula of both countries. Finally, it presents a proposal for intervention in the classroom that the combination of different learning contexts and processes to investigate mathematical teaching practices and most effective in promoting and numeracy of children from the earliest ages

El actual proceso de globalizacin de la sociedad ha supuesto, entre otros aspectos, la llegada de fuertes corrientes migratorias y la presencia en la escuela de nios y nias de todo el mundo. Esta realidad implica una nueva orientacin del currculo de conocimiento del medio que posibilite la comprensin de la diversidad y la pluriidentidad presente en todas las aulas de las escuelas de Catalua y as conseguir educar para una nueva ciudadana. Este artculo presenta los resultados de un proceso de investigacin-accin que ha tenido como objetivo la innovacin curricular en el conocimiento del medio natural, social y cultural en seis centros de educación infantil y primaria de las comarcas gerundenses. Se pretende describir y explicar una innovacin o cambio curricular fundamentado tericamente, del que se ha derivado una nueva forma de trabajo en el aula; y mostrar el proceso metodolgico de elaboracin e implementacin con las resistencias y los cambios reales en el currculo

The article describes and summarizes some results of the research Identification of the difficulties, collection of good practices and analysis of the improvement processes in Secondary Education Institutes of Catalonia (2011). An approach to the situation of conviviality in the Catalan public Secondary schools gathering the perception of the management teams, through an ethnographic approach and of analysis of the stories. It has its origin in a work commissioned from the General Subdirectorate of Permanent Teacher Training of the Generalitat of Catalonia, developed in the context of the module Conviviality and Organization of Centres, within the program of permanent training of management teams. It falls in line with action-oriented research to improve practice. The paper gathers and synthesizes the results obtained in the collection and systematization of the proposed improvements. It is structured in three parts: a) a theoretical analysis which conceptualizes violence / conviviality and sense of good practices; b) the explanation of the design, methodology and development of research and c) the categorization of the improvement proposals and the conclusions of the work

Las autoras y autores de este libro ofrecen una descripcin de la evolucin general del e-learning apuntando los elementos clave hacia los que debe ir evolucionando. Parten de la experiencia y la prctica contrastada con las investigaciones sobre el tema. A lo largo de los distintos captulos nos muestran cmo vive un estudiante virtual, su papel y la manera en que plantea y organiza sus actividades; nos acercan al profesorado analizando su rol en el diseo de la formacin y la comunicacin con los estudiantes; hablan de la colaboracin, analizando cmo disear actividades colaborativas y sealando sus ventajas y lmites; describen los diferentes recursos de aprendizaje que podemos disponer en el diseo de los cursos y, por ltimo, acompaan nuestra mirada hacia el futuro prximo analizando las tendencias y los retos a los que debemos hacer frente para construir el e-learning del siglo XXI.
