This dissertation presents a discussion on the level of risk awareness of students who have welding practice in the laboratories at CEFET/PI, both in Teresina and Floriano. Its main goal is to investigate risk factors involving students, teachers and employees that work in these laboratories. It s an empirical survey, held among a certain amount of students from the course in Mechanic Technology. For data analysis, the concept of risk was compared to the students direct measure of perception. The main results suggest the students must be better informed, more risk aware and more competent, in order to avoid accidents. They also point to a strong need for a more formal and effective performance to assure full consciousness about the risks involving the welding practice.

The need to implement a software architecture that promotes the development of a SCADA supervisory system for monitoring industrial processes simulated with the flexibility of adding intelligent modules and devices such as CLP, according to the specifications of the problem, it was the motivation for this work. In the present study, we developed an intelligent supervisory system on a simulation of a distillation column modeled with Unisim. Furthermore, OLE Automation was used as communication between the supervisory and simulation software, which, with the use of the database, promoted an architecture both scalable and easy to maintain. Moreover, intelligent modules have been developed for preprocessing, data characteristics extraction, and variables inference. These modules were fundamentally based on the Encog software

It is presented a solar cooker made with a parabolic reflector composed by a composite material. For this purpose, it was utilized a cast concrete with a parabolic profile obtained by means of modeling. It will be demonstrated the manufacturing process and settings, as well as tests results, in order to determine the contact temperature and cooking time of some foods. This solar cooker presents the following main characteristics: the concentration method, low cost and easy manufacturing process. It was performed by employing recycled materials such as cement, plaster, crushed polystyrene and wheels. The captation area measures 1 square meter and its parabole was covered with a mirrors measuring 25 cm2. A temperature higher than 650°C was obtained. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that the cooking viability for several type of foods such as beans, potatoes, rice, yams and pasta can be used in two meals for a family of four. In addition, the advantages of this cooker were analysed in comparison with others described in literature as well as those operating on gas. Especially in Northeast of Brazil, where there is a potential for solar energy, this prototype is an important tool, because it avoids not only desertification, but also pollutants from burning firewoods which cause ecological imbalance

The present work investigates related discourse in rewriting discursive practices, at monographic works specifically at the theoretical foundation section. Focalizing some discursive strategies of voice management (direct and indirect discourse and modalization voice) we detach the introduction way and function of cited discourse. To do so, it were analyzed eighteen monographic works: nine of them final graduation works and other nine specialization works seeing that each works belonging to the same student, in two different stages, in the period from 2003 in graduation conclusion to 2005 in the end of specialization course. The data reveal that the monographic writer/student emphasizes the use of direct discourse in graduation works while in specialization works there was an emphasis at indirect speech. The analysis the way they introduce cited discourse pointed out that writer/student in graduation course such as specialization student make meaningless constructions when they do not use discendi verbs, they demonstrate difficulties inarticulate citing discourse with cited discourse. In what is related to functions of cited discourse we verify that the student/writer, in both stages or levels give emphasis to the function maintain an assertion, indicating that other s discourse serve mainly as a resource of authority just because that this function reveals the absence of a dialog between student writing and cited discourse. In a general way, the forms of other s discourse claim a form of writing that is found starting from a sequence of cited discourse in what student/writer voice in graduation and specialization comes to text surface just few times, but most of the times, the student takes other s words as they were themselves, every time there is an overlap of author/source

Esta pesquisa trata da referenciação ocorrida pelas anáforas diretas e indire-tas em produções textuais de alunos do Ensino Fundamental. Como elemento pri-mordial de nossas investigações, ancoramo-nos na referenciação e estudos da aná-fora no âmbito da LingüÃstica Textual como fazem Mondada e Dubois (2003); KOCH (2003) e Marcuschi (2005). De acordo com estudos já realizados e envolvidos com a temática, defendemos a noção de referenciação como sendo um processo de cons-trução de sentidos que se realiza no discurso, isto é, em atividades interativas entre os sujeitos exigindo, portanto, uma ação colaborativa entre os interlocutores. Nesse aspecto, a interação precisa existir, visto que os referentes de um termo anafórico nem sempre se encontram na superfÃcie textual; muitas vezes, são construÃdos a partir de uma representação ou modelo mental disponÃvel na memória discursiva. Nessa perspectiva, procuramos analisar o processo de referenciação construÃdo a partir de anáforas diretas e indiretas identificando as estratégias utilizadas em textos produzidos em situações de sala de aula. Dizemos que a anáfora direta, de modo geral, é definida pela relação de correferencialidade estabelecida entre o anafórico e seu antecedente, enquanto a anáfora indireta é vista como uma estratégia referenci-al de associação, sem referente explÃcito, tendo que se esforçar para estabelecer a continuidade referencial no texto e para isso utiliza-se da ativação (referenciação mental) de elementos novos e não de uma reativação de referentes já conhecidos, o que constitui um processo de referenciação implÃcita. Para alcançarmos nosso obje-tivo, utilizamos como subsÃdio teórico, o processo de informação na memória cogni-tiva, a referência e estudos da anáfora no âmbito da LingüÃstica Textual. O corpus deste trabalho constitui-se de sessenta textos escritos por alunos de 7ª série (atual 8º ano), dentre os quais analisamos o processo de referenciação ocasionado pelas anáforas diretas e indiretas em doze desses textos. Considerando os dados analisa-dos, dentre os tipos de anáforas estudados, constatamos que houve preponderância no uso das anáforas diretas, destacando-se entre elas a anáfora direta correferencial co-significativa, com maior manifestação no uso das retomadas diretas por pronomi-nalização

In this research we present a study of cultural aspects in dubbed and subtitled films. As a case study, we chose to compare the original French version of "Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain" with both the subtitled and the dubbed versions in Portuguese, with focus on the interaction between the French and the Brazilian cultures. First we considered that (i) the translation process interferes on the perception of cultural relationships; and that (ii) dubbing and subtitling are two methods of translation that result in distinct perceptions from the spectator. Then, we adopted the translation interpretative theory (Seleskovicth; Lederer, 2001; Deslile, 1980) as the general theoretical framework, since it emphasizes the extralinguistic equivalence on the translation process. Furthermore, we based this research on three analytical procedures, which are: the four-step translating operation, the contrastive perception and a translation's typology based on Vinay and Dalbernet's linguistic procedures (Srpová, 1991, 1995, 2004). We extracted forty-six culture-related elements from the film and identified those belonging to the French ethno-universe. Then, the elements were classified with respect to a theoretical typology, based on concepts found in the Ethnography of Communication and a general typology, based on five general thematic groups, defined by the corpus. The results showed that both Brazilian versions tend to preserve those culture-related elements by using lexical loan and literal translation. The visual context, in its association with the linguistic procedures in both Brazilian versions, was also observed as an important element to the comprehension of the culture-related elements as they are considered in the French culture. As a general observation, the perception of culture-related elements in the film seems effectively be oriented by the translation methods

El escritor de São Paulo Raduan Nassar, lanza en 1975, su primera novela intitulado Lavoura arcaica. En su narrativa de estreno, el escritor nos trae la historia de un adolescente, André, que intenta destruir la plantación de su padre, Iohána. A través de sus sermones, el patriarca predicaba la moderación, la disciplina y la obediencia a las leyes impuestas por él, construyendo asÃ, un mundo de ilusiones, donde el amor era una máscara para la hipocresÃa. En esta tensa relación, padre e hijo, representaciones mÃsticas de Apolo y Dionisio, emprenden una contienda discursiva sobre la negación y la afirmación de la existencia. De ese modo, considerando la relación de lucha e integridad entre el impulso apolÃneo y dionisiaco existentes en el romanticismo nassariano, la propuesta de este trabajo es presentar una lectura de lo trágico en Lavoura arcaica a partir de la perspectiva nietzscheana sobre el género trágico. Para eso, recorrimos al concepto desarrollado por Nietzsche en su obra, desde su primer libro O nascimento da tragédia (2007a), A visão dionisÃaca do mundo (2005 a) y Ecce homo (2008 b).

La présence de la Bible dans la poésie du Boca do Inferno est un fait certain pour ceux qui gardent une mémoire littéraire des compositions tênues comme sacrées par la perception religieuse. Ce travail de conclusion de Mestrado, qui a comme titre Dieu et le diable dans la poésie de Gregório de Matos, pour répondre à la question portant sur la façon dont le poète baihanais s approprie de l héritage biblique, développe le thème de la quête grégorienne des Écritures pour faire de la parodie au moment d élaborer sa poésie. Pour rendre effectif un tel travail, l étude fait recours surtout à la fortune critique-théorique construite dans les essais de Haroldo de Campos qui se consacrent à l oeuvre de Gregório de Matos et aux textes bibliques en tant qu héritage littéraire de haute valeur. Ce travail fait encore recours aux constatations sur l art-culture baroque formulées par Helmut Hatzfeld et par José Antonio Maravall, et à la théorie anthropaphagique de la formation de la culture brésilienne, établie par Oswald de Andrade, à fin de donner un support aux observations faites lors de la lecture de la poésie grégorienne. L anthropophagie biblique mise en rite par Gregório de Matos en tant que travail qui précède l ironie parodique repérable dans ses textes est un aspect de son oeuvre qui répond pour son caractère unique: récits de la Bible juive, la poésie de l Ecclésiaste et des passages des Évangiles font écho dans l oeuvre du poète brésilien.

Este trabajo busca demostrar cómo la figura intelectual de Caetano Veloso es importante en el escenario de la cultura brasileña, presentando el análisis de algunas canciones de su producción musical, desde el momento heroico del Tropicalismo hasta las composiciones más recientes. Busca también, resaltar lo que el cancionista refleja en sus ensayos, referente a temas esenciales para la interpretación de Brasil en cuanto a la constitución de su identidad cultural. El pensamiento del mestizo de Caetano Veloso se investiga en su proyecto de canciones, para evidenciar su intervención en el mundo de la cultura, posibilitando una discusión que refleja las relaciones significativas entre la literatura y la música, además de favorecer un diálogo evidente con otros discursos estéticos

O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar como as representações discursivas do locutor e dos alocutários são construÃdas no discurso de renúncia ao mandato de senador, proferido por Antonio Carlos Magalhães (ACM), na 62ª sessão deliberativa ordinária, em 30/5/2001. A perspectiva teórica que adotamos situa-se no campo da LinguÃstica do Texto, com foco na abordagem da Análise Textual dos Discursos ATD (Adam, 2011). A noção de representação discursiva apresentada pela ATD constitui um dos aspectos da dimensão semântica do texto e baseia-se parcialmente nos trabalhos de Grize sobre a esquematização (1990, 1996). Complementamos as categorias de análise com contribuições que nos permitem detalhar a expressão linguÃstica, textual, e discursiva das representações discursivas (Neves, 2006; Castilho 2010; Rodrigues, Passeggi, Silva Neto, 2010; Rodrigues et al. 2012; Passeggi, 2012). O enfoque metodológico é qualitativo, descritivo e interpretativista (Minayo, 1994; Trivinõs; 1987; Gil, 2002). Os procedimentos de análise utilizam as categorias semânticas de referenciação, predicação, modificação (de referentes e predicações), localização espacial e temporal, conexão e comparação. A representação discursiva do locutor (ACM) é constituÃda pelo conjunto de representações mais especÃficas, expressas nas referenciações e nas suas modificações: vÃtima; polÃtico; sigla; baiano, nordestino; presidente do senado; senador confiante; condenado. ACM, como protagonista, assume sempre a sua voz no discurso, manifesta seus pontos de vista e posiciona-se como sujeito ativo, consciente da importância do seu papel polÃtico e social, que o torna alvo e vÃtima das ações dos adversários. Complementando essa referenciação, as predicações e suas modificações se expressam através de verbos de ação, em especial, verbos na 1ª pessoa do singular que marcam o tempo presente, real e conclusivo de ações que constroem um cenário positivo para si mesmo. A localização temporal e espacial, indica as ações realizadas pelos participantes nas diversas etapas temporais selecionadas pelo texto, articuladas a três espaços principais: o Senado Federal, o Brasil e, naturalmente, a Bahia. Por sua vez, conectores adversativos (sobretudo, mas ), explicativos e condicionais acompanham e estruturam o ritmo argumentativo do discurso de renúncia de ACM

Settled within the realm of a problematization towards teaching and learning the Portuguese language, this study aims to investigate the way how the Portuguese Language discipline is dealt with in Secondary School. We propose specifically to analyze the orientations of the official documents concerning the educator practice, examining the way the PCNEM proposal is approached in the didactic book, identifying the treatment given to language questions, analyzing the way the teacher uses the didactic book and verifying the relations between the official approach and the pedagogical practice. The analysis takes into account the several discourses concerning school literacy, considering the various political-educational instances which institutionalize the teaching of the mother tongue - where we locate the teaching that is wanted . In what teachers and students say in their activities and concerning them - the realm of the teaching that is performed - we presuppose that there are signs of the principles - or conceptions - that orientate what they understand by language, teaching and learning. Such evidences are considered within the interrelation of the enunciative places where this literacy is promoted: the public policies concerning education - focusing the language questions - the academic researches about those questions, the educator formation and capacitation and the very school practices in the complexity of their discoursive inter-subjectivity. The principles - or conceptions - are pursued in what is said (or not) about what is done (or not) in the classroom when dealing with the Portuguese Language. The corpus is made up of oral and written texts produced in Portuguese classes in the Secondary School at a public school in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Situated in the realm of Applied Linguistics, the research is conducted in a qualitative and interpretative perspective, following the ethnography of communication procedures and the contributions of the Functional Linguistics. In the observations, language conceptions were discerned, among others, besides beliefs and representations where the theoretical and practical aspects, professional roles, expectations and uncertainties were diluted.

This study aims to analyze the communication graphics of layouts of hypermedia interfaces oriented to Distance Education via the Internet. This proposal is justified by widening the offer of courses that modality and the consequent application of items of hypermedia for teaching-learning. The method of analysis involved the search nethnographic, addressed to the cycle student intermediary of the Training Program Continuing Medias in Education, and the evaluation heuristic of the interfaces of Virtual Learning Environment "E-Proinfo" and of the modules of the Cycle. This evaluation we observed the implementation of the attributes of usability and the degree of interactivity of each interface. The results revealed an inefficient implementation of the attributes of usability, which meant a consequent reduction of the levels of interactivity. As proposing the present Design Virtual Learning, a model of hypermedia layout, designed to generate usability for Virtual learning environments and extend the acquisition of literancy for students and tutors. This proposal design not hypermedia aims the demarcation of models pre-conceived, but the proposal of layout in which each element of hypermedia is applied with a view to generate a seaworthiness intuitive, more agile and efficient, in these ambients

Objectives To evaluate the presence of fungi on contact electrodes and ultrasound transducers from physiotherapy clinics.Design Quantitative study conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology of Piaui - NOVAFAPI, Teresina, Brazil.Setting Sample collection was performed in 10 clinics ( 20 ultrasound transducers and 20 contact electrodes).Main outcome measures Swabs were soaked with saline solution, inoculated in culture and incubated for filamentous fungi and yeast growth.Results Fourteen taxons were identified: Acremomium hyalinulum (Sacc.), Aspergillus terreus, Candida albicans, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Cladosporium elatum, Cladosporium oxysporum, Cladosporium sphaerospermum, Cladosphialophora bantiana, Curvularia clavata, Curvularia senegalensis, Fusarium oxysporum, Penicillium decumbens, Scopulariopsis candida and Sporothrix schenckii. Aspergillus terreus, Cladosporium oxysporum, Sporothrix shenckii and Candida albicans were found most often on contact electrodes, and Penicillium decumbens and Cladosporium cladosporioides were found most often on ultrasound transducers.Conclusion Fungi were found on all of the contact electrodes and ultrasound transducers. This doctoral thesis investigate the way vestibulandos and pré-vestibulandos construct their discursive representations of Ficar and Namorar in their textual production. At the same time, aims to discuss its implications for the ATD and for the teaching and learning of textual production in the context of Portuguese Language classes. Its theoretical framework is inspired mainly by three sources: textual linguistics, the textual analysis of discourses (ADAM, 2008), as well as by frames semantics (FILLMORE, 2006; FELTES, 2007). The methodology is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches (VIANNA et al., 2008). The data is composed of 168 empirical texts written by the vestibulandos of PSV/2005 da UFRN, Natal, RN, and by secondary school students who attended Escola Estadual Juscelino Kubitschek (EEJK), Assú, in the 2008 school year. The results indicate different categories of discursive representations of Ficar and Namorar , such as designation of referents, prediction, aspectualization, spatial-temporal circunstances , and metaphor, which reveal the influence of factors such as: the encyclopedic knowledge, the culture, as well as the cognitive components related to textual production. These results point out to the necessity of a teaching practice which enables the interaction among students, the discussion of current themes, as well as the student involvement with different textual genres, mainly the work with textual production in the classroom, so that it enables the students do acquire the textual production strategies. Thus, the overall goal is the (re)construction of their discursive representations, so that they can cope with new contexts of communicative interaction.

Este trabajo tiene como objeto de investigación literaria la obra: O testamento de Jo , lanzada en 1965, por Walflan de Queiroz. El poeta norte-rÃo-grandense ilustra a través de un conjunto de poemas su experiencia religiosa y metafÃsica a partir de la desgracia sufrida por el personaje bÃblico Jo, desarrollando una estética de la soledad, de la pobreza y de la marginalidad. Según Alter y Kermode (1997), la poesÃa de Jo es asombrosa en su fuerza e inventiva. Se pretende demostrar que las poesÃas de Walflan de Queiroz poseen dos corrientes definidas: si, por un parte, se vinculan al tema de Jo, mon doux Job , como él escribió en un poema; por otra, diseminan una postura amorosa. Con el objetivo de situar al autor y a su obra, se discuten el contexto histórico y la agitación cultural en RÃo Grande do Norte en la década de 1960. La lectura de O testamento de Jo nos llevó a realizar inicialmente una comparación de la poética walflaniana con textos bÃblicos para la construcción de una atmósfera mÃstica en el libro. Enseguida, el abordaje de los poemas amorosos que retratan la imagen femenina presente de forma platónica o bajo el velo de la mitologÃa, de los mitos de Orfeu y EurÃdice, retomados por el poeta. En Walflan de Queiroz, el amor no se concretiza. Y el bardo escribe como los románticos y los simbolistas
