The properties of the wetting layer (WL) of InAs nanorings grown by droplet epitaxy have been studied. The heavy-hole (HH) and light-hole (LH) related transitions of the In(Ga)As WL were observed by reflectance difference spectroscopy. From the temperature dependent photoluminescence behavior of InAs rings, the channel for carriers to redistribute was found to be the compressed GaAs instead of the In(Ga)As layer, which strongly indicated that the wetting layer was depleted around the rings. Futhermore, a complex evolution of the WL with In deposition amount has been observed. (c) 2008 American Institute of Physics.

A diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser mode-locked by a semiconductor saturable absorber and output coupler (SESAOC) is passively stabilized to suppress Q-switched mode-locking. A phase mismatched 131130 second-harmonic generation (SHG) crystal is used for passive stabilization. The continuous wave mode-locking (CWML) threshold is reduced and the pulse width is compressed. The pulse width is 6.5 ps as measured at the repetition rate of 128 MHz. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A new packaged fiber Bragg grating using bimetal cantilever beam as the strain agent is presented. The grating is two-point attached on one specific surface of the bimetal beam which consists of two metallic material with different thermal-expansion coefficient. Thereby the grating can be compressed or stretched along with the cantilever beam while temperature varies and temperature compensation can be realized. At the same time, grating chirping can be avoided for the particular attaching method. Experiment results demonstrated that the device is able to automatically compensate temperature induced wavelength shift. The temperature dependence of Bragg wavelength reduced to -0.4 pm/degrees C over the temperature range from -20 to 60 degrees C. First, the compression-awaited data are regarded Lis character strings which are produced by virtual information source mapping M. then the model of the virtual information source M is established by neural network and SVM. Last we construct a lossless data compression (coding) scheme based oil neural network and SVM with the model, an integer function and a SVM discriminant. The scheme differs from the old entropy coding (compressions) inwardly, and it can compress some data compressed by the old entropy coding.

Based on the semiconductor laser whose spectral line with width is compressed to be less than 1.2Mhz, a system was designed to measure and improve the amplitude and frequency of the real-time microvibration with sinusoidal modulation. real-time microvibration measurement was executed without alignment problem in the interferometry; and low-frequency disturbance of environment could be eliminated. Suggestions were also given to consummate the system. The system also has resistance against the low frequency disturbance of the environment.

A compact direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) for system-on-chip (SoC) is developed in this paper. For smaller chip size and lower power consumption, the phase to sine mapping data is compressed by using sine symmetry technique, sine-phase difference technique, quad line approximation (QLA) technique and quantization and error read only memory (QE-ROM) technique. The ROM size is reduced by 98 % using the techniques mentioned above. A compact DDFS chip with 32-bit phase storage depth and a 10-bit on-chip digital to analog converter(DAC) has been successfully implemented using standard 0.35um CMOS process. The core area of the DDFS is 1.6mm(2). It consumes 167 mW at 3.3V, and its spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) is 61dB.

介绍了FM-index压缩查询技术,详细阐述了FM—index的工作流程,描述了实现计算字符串在压缩文本中出现次数的算法。对FM-index的源代码在Linux平台上进行了测试,从测试结果分析了使用FM-index进行压缩查询的优点和不足。最后给出了加快FM-index压缩速度的一个并行化算法的初步设计思路。

A compact direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) for system-on-chip implementation of the high precision rubidium atomic frequency standard is developed. For small chip size and low power consumption, the phase to sine mapping data is compressed using sine symmetry technique, sine-phase difference technique, quad line approximation technique,and quantization and error read only memory (QE-ROM) technique. The ROM size is reduced by 98% using these techniques. A compact DDFS chip with 32bit phase storage depth and a 10bit on-chip digital to analog converter has been successfully implemented using a standard 0.35μm CMOS process. The core area of the DDFS is 1.6mm^2. It consumes 167mW at 3.3V,and its spurious free dynamic range is 61dB.

We have experimentally demonstrated pulses 0.4 mJ in duration smaller than 12 fs with an excellent spatial beam profile by self-guided propagation in argon. The original 52 fs pulses from the chirped pulsed amplification laser system are first precompressed to 32 fs by inserting an acoustic optical programmable dispersive filter instrument into the laser system for spectrum reshaping and dispersion compensation, and the pulse spectrum is subsequently broadened by filamentation in an argon cell. By using chirped mirrors for post-dispersion compensation, the pulses are successfully compressed to smaller than 12 fs.

A single longitudinal mode and narrow line width external cavity semiconductor laser is proposed. It is constructed with a semiconductor laser, collimator, a flame grating, and current and temperature control systems. The one facet of semiconductor laser is covered by high transmission film, and another is covered by high reflection film. The flame grating is used as light feedback element to select the mode of the semiconductor laser. The temperature of the constructed external cavity semiconductor laser is stabilized in order of 10(-3)degreesC by temperature control system. The experiments have been carried out and the results obtained-the spectral fine width of this laser is compressed to be less than 1.4MHz from its original line-width of more than 1200GHz and the output stability (including power and mode) is remarkably enhanced.

The structural evolution of the ordered N-N' dibutyl-substituted quinacridone (QA4C) multilayers (3 MLs) has been monitored in situ and in real time at various substrate temperatures using low energy electron diffraction (LEED) during organic molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Experimental results of LEED patterns clearly reveal that the structure of the multilayer strongly depends on the substrate temperature. Multilayer growth can be achieved at the substrate temperatures below 300 K, while at the higher temperatures we can only get one ordered monolayer of QA4C. Two kinds of structures, the commensurate and incommensurate one, often coexist in the QA4C multilayer. With a method of the two-step substrate temperatures, the incommensurate one can be suppressed, and the commensurate, on the other hand, more similar to the (001) plane of the QA4C bulk crystal, prevails with the layer of QA4C increasing to 3 MLs. The two structures in the multilayers are compressed slightly in comparison to the original ones in the first monolayer.

When cooled or compressed sufficiently rapidly, a liquid vitrifies into a glassy amorphous state. Vitrification in a dense liquid is associated with jamming of the particles. For hard spheres, the density and degree of order in the final structure depend on the compression rate: simple intuition suggests, and previous computer simulation demonstrates, that slower compression results in states that are both denser and more ordered. In this work, we use the Lubachevsky-Stillinger algorithm to generate a sequence of structurally arrested hard-sphere states by varying the compression rate.

A catalyst of Rh nanoparticles supported on a carbon nanofiber, 5 wt.% Rh/CNF, with an average size of 2-3 nm has been prepared by a method of incipient wetness impregnation. The catalyst presented a high activity in the ring hydrogenation of phenol in a medium of supercritical CO2 (scCO(2)) at a low temperature of 323 K. The presence of compressed CO2 retards hydrogenation of cyclohexanone to cyclohexanol under the reaction conditions used, and this is beneficial for the formation of cyclohexanone, increasing the selectivity to cyclohexanone.

Novel one-dimensional europium benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate compressed nanorods have been synthesized oil it large scale through direct precipitation in solution phase under moderate conditions without the assistance of any surfactant, catalyst, or template. The obtained nanorods have widths of about 50-100 not, thicknesses of 10-20 nm, and lengths ranging from a few hundred nanometers to several micrometers. X-ray powder diffraction. elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared Studies, and thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis show that the nanorods have the structural formula of Eu(1,3,5-BTC)center dot 6H(2)O. Upon UV excitation, these nanorods exhibit a highly efficient luminescence. which comes from the Eu3+ ions. Moreover, Eu2O3 nanorods Could also be obtained via a thermal decomposition method using the corresponding complex as a precursor. This synthetic route is promising for the preparation of other one-dimensional crystalline nanomaterials because of its simplicity and the low cost of the starting reagents.
