A indstria automvel um dos setores mais exigentes do mercado global, por este motivo empresas como a Continental Mabor S.A, lderes de mercado, necessitam estar na linha da frente no que toca a programas de melhoria contnua e de uma gesto orientada para um crescimento rentvel e sustentado. Nesta perspetiva, este estudo de dissertao tem como objetivo encontrar uma soluo para a gesto de stock e FiFo (First in First out) de pneus em verde na supracitada empresa, situada em Lousado, Vila Nova de Famalico. Este projeto de dissertao iniciou-se com uma anlise e diagnstico do processo produtivo do pneu, entre a Construo e a Vulcanizao. Nesta anlise, foi possvel identificar vrios problemas, sendo o mais crtico associado logstica interna de transporte do pneu em curso, de fabrico entre as fases do mesmo, Construo e Vulcanizao. Devido a condicionantes estruturais e de organizao, a logstica interna de transporte entre estes dois sectores enfrenta estrangulamentos nos fluxos, a falta de espao para acomodar o material em curso, problemas organizacionais de controlo e monitorizao do processo produtivo, dificuldades de regulao do fluxo e localizao dos carros de transporte dos pneus em verde. Face aos problemas detetados ao longo do estudo, foram analisadas vrias solues para a resoluo ou minimizao dos mesmos. Entre as solues propostas salientam-se: o alargamento do sistema de transporte por tapetes rolantes GTC (Green Tire Conveying) a todos os mdulos de construo. Esta soluo diminui o fluxo de carros para a rea da construo, descongestionando a zona prxima do sistema de carregamento automtico GTAL (Green Tire Automatic Loading) na vulcanizao. A implementao dum sistema Wi-Fi RFID, que permite identificar e localizar artigos em curso utilizando etiquetas inteligentes numa rede wireless, conseguindo melhorar a programao de produo e o respetivo sequenciamento. Sabendo tambm que a Continental se encontra numa fase de expanso, designada Projeto Route 17/20, as solues propostas tomaram em considerao essa nova realidade futura. Assim, foram estudados e propostos novos layouts para esse atual processo. Nestes novos layouts, procurou-se uma reorganizao dos processos de fabrico, bem como um redimensionamento dos espaos de parqueamento de carros de pneus verdes adequado aos volumes produtivos. De igual forma, adequou-se os espaos fsicos possvel implementao de um sistema de FiFo de pneus em verde na planta fabril, quando concluda a expanso. Este trabalho de dissertao apresenta como vantagens diretas da sua implementao: gerar a menor perturbao no atual mtodo de trabalho seguido na empresa; previsivelmente aumentar a eficincia do processo produtivo; potenciar o crescimento tecnolgico programado pela empresa; e oferecer uma boa relao custo/benefcio no investimento necessrio. Como apreciao final, pode-se concluir que este estudo foi finalizado com sucesso, visto que as solues propostas foram apreciadas positivamente pela Administrao da Continental Mabor S.A. e esto correntemente a ser avaliadas pelo grupo.

El documento muestra el desarrollo de una aplicacin para mviles con Sistema Operativo Android. Esta aplicacin muestra, por medio de Google Maps, la localizacin de plazas de aparcamiento con ayuda del sistema de sensores instalado por Worldsensing.

El propsito del presente trabajo es hacer un anlisis de los estacionamientos en el centro de Bogot y sus factores asociados, como precios y uso de los mismos, buscando una relacin con la movilidad en ese sector de la ciudad, a partir del anlisis de las estrategias de gestin de la demanda de transporte. En el trabajo se hace un recorrido por los temas ms relevantes sobre estacionamientos. En primer lugar, se discute la importancia de hablar sobre estacionamientos a partir de los conceptos de distintos autores. Posteriormente, se analiza la normatividad que encierra este tema, para adentrarse en el anlisis del rea de estudio seleccionada por el autor. Finalmente, se analiza la pertinencia de la implementacin de estrategias de demanda de transporte y se presentan recomendaciones para mejorar la situacin actual de los estacionamientos tanto en el rea de estudio como en la ciudad.

A escolha da cidade do Rio de Janeiro como sede de grandes eventos esportivos mundiais, a Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2014 e os Jogos Olmpicos de 2016, colocou-a no centro de investimentos em infraestrutura, mobilidade urbana e segurana pblica, com consequente impacto no mercado imobilirio, tanto de novos lanamentos de empreendimentos, quanto na revenda de imveis usados. Acredita-se que o preo de um imvel dependa de uma relao entre suas caractersticas estruturais como quantidade de quartos, sutes, vagas de garagem, presena de varanda, tal como sua localizao, proximidade com centros de trabalho, entretenimento e reas valorizadas ou degradadas. Uma das tcnicas para avaliar a contribuio dessas caractersticas para a formao do preo do imvel, conhecido na Economtrica como Modelagem Hednica de Preos, uma aplicao de regresso linear multivariada onde a varivel dependente o preo e as variveis independentes, as respectivas caractersticas que deseja-se modelar. A utilizao da regresso linear implica em observar premissas que devem ser atendidas para a confiabilidade dos resultados a serem analisados, tais como independncia e homoscedasticidade dos resduos e no colinearidade entre as variveis independentes. O presente trabalho objetiva aplicar a modelagem hednica de preos para imveis localizados na cidade do Rio de Janeiro em um modelo de regresso linear multivariada, em conjunto com outras fontes de dados para a construo de variveis de acessibilidade e socioambiental a fim de verificar a relao de importncia entre elas para a formao do preo e, em particular, exploramos brevemente a tendncia de preos em funo da distncia a favelas. Em ateno aos pr-requisitos observados para a aplicao de regresso linear, verificamos que a premissa de independncia dos preos no pode ser atestada devido a constatao da autocorrelao espacial entre os imveis, onde no apenas as caractersticas estruturais e de acessibilidade so levadas em considerao para a precificao do bem, mas principalmente a influncia mtua que os imveis vizinhos exercem um ao outro.

Traffic congestion is nothing new in Latin American cities but has worsened in recent years. Eliminating it is a pipedream, but it should be brought under control. Many economists and transport planners think electronic road pricing would be the best way of tackling it, now that the appropriate technology for implementing it is available. On the other hand, experience shows that, for political reasons, it would be better to begin by adopting simpler methods. To start with, simple road pricing would seem to be the best option. But, over 20 years of experience in London and more than six in Santiago, Chile, made it clear that socio-political barriers have to be surmounted before even this option can be applied in practice. There is more political support for measures to control parking, due in part to the fact that the legal powers do not normally extend to restricting the number of parking spaces available to high-income and influential motorists who have the right to park near their offices and who cause a great deal of the congestion whilst getting there. In Latin America, the relative importance of taxis also diminishes the effectiveness of measures geared to parking, since taxis contribute to congestion although but they do not park. The problem of congestion cannot be solved by using tame measures. The time has come for something bolder, i.e., measures that, at the very least, exercise control over those parking spaces, which so far have been beyond the reach of governments and local authorities, ideally, simple road pricing systems would be even more effective.

This pilot project at Cotton Tree, Maroochydore, on two adjacent, linear parcels of land has one of the properties privately owned while the other is owned by the public housing authority. Both owners commissioned Lindsay and Kerry Clare to design housing for their separate needs which enabled the two projects to be governed by a single planning and design strategy. This entailed the realignment of the dividing boundary to form two approximately square blocks which made possible the retention of an important stand of mature paperbark trees and gave each block a more useful street frontage. The scheme provides seven two-bedroom units and one single-bedroom unit as the private component, with six single-bedroom units, three two-bedroom units and two three-bedroom units forming the public housing. The dwellings are deployed as an interlaced mat of freestanding blocks, car courts, courtyard gardens, patios and decks. The key distinction between the public and private parts of the scheme is the pooling of the car parking spaces in the public housing to create a shared courtyard. The housing climbs to three storeys on its southern edge and falls to a single storey on the north-western corner. This enables all units and the principal private outdoor spaces to have a northern orientation. The interiors of both the public and private units are skilfully arranged to take full advantage of views, light and breeze.

Background: We aimed to compare plasma concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO(2)) in dogs that underwent intra- and preperitoneal CO(2) insufflation. Materials and Methods: Thirty dogs were studied. Ten formed a control group, 10 underwent intraperitoneal CO(2) insufflation, and 10 underwent preperitoneal CO(2) insufflation. General anesthesia with controlled ventilation was standardized for all dogs. After stabilizing the anesthesia, blood samples were collected at predetermined times and were sent for immediate gasometric analysis. Analysis of variance was used for comparing variables. Results: The plasma CO(2) concentration in the intraperitoneal insufflation group increased significantly more than in the preperitoneal insufflation group and was significantly greater than in the control group (P < 0.05). The pH values in the intraperitoneal group were lower than in the preperitoneal group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The data from this study suggest that a greater plasma concentration of CO(2) is achieved by insufflation at constant pressure into the intraperitoneal space than into the preperitoneal space.

Quantum field theories (QFT's) on noncommutative spacetimes are currently under intensive study. Usually such theories have world sheet noncommutativity. In the present work, instead, we study QFT's with commutative world sheet and noncommutative target space. Such noncommutativity can be interpreted in terms of twisted statistics and is related to earlier work of Oeckl [R. Oeckl, Commun. Math. Phys. 217, 451 (2001)], and others [A. P. Balachandran, G. Cortes, J. Gamboa, and F. Mendez, J. High Energy Phys. 03 (2003) 058]. We review their derivation and then compute the partition function of one such typical theory. It leads to a deformed blackbody spectrum, which is analyzed in detail. The difference between the usual and the deformed blackbody spectrum appears in the region of high frequencies. Therefore we expect that the deformed blackbody radiation may potentially be used to compute a Greisen-Zatsepin-Kuzmin cutoff which will depend on the noncommutative parameter theta.

This paper is a continuation and a complement of our previous work on isomorphic classification of some spaces of compact operators. We improve the main result concerning extensions of the classical isomorphic classification of the Banach spaces of continuous functions on ordinals. As an application, fixing an ordinal a and denoting by X(xi), omega(alpha) <= xi < omega(alpha+1), the Banach space of all X-valued continuous functions defined in the interval of ordinals [0,xi] and equipped with the supremum, we provide complete isomorphic classifications of some Banach spaces K(X(xi),Y(eta)) of compact operators from X(xi) to Y(eta), eta >= omega. It is relatively consistent with ZFC (Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory with the axiom of choice) that these results include the following cases: 1.X* contains no copy of c(0) and has the Mazur property, and Y = c(0)(J) for every set J. 2. X = c(0)(I) and Y = l(q)(J) for any infinite sets I and J and 1 <= q < infinity. 3. X = l(p)(I) and Y = l(q)(J) for any infinite sets I and J and 1 <= q < p < infinity.

We prove an extension of the classical isomorphic classification of Banach spaces of continuous functions on ordinals. As a consequence, we give complete isomorphic classifications of some Banach spaces K(X,Y(n)), eta >= omega, of compact operators from X to Y(eta), the space of all continuous Y-valued functions defined in the interval of ordinals [1, eta] and equipped with the supremum norm. In particular, under the Continuum Hypothesis, we extend a recent result of C. Samuel by classifying, up to isomorphism, the spaces K(X(xi), c(0)(Gamma)(eta)), where omega <= xi < omega(1,) eta >= omega, Gamma is a countable set, X contains no complemented copy of l(1), X* has the Mazur property and the density character of X** is less than or equal to N(1).

This paper concerns the spaces of compact operators kappa(E,F), where E and F are Banach spaces C([1, xi], X) of all continuous X-valued functions defined on the interval of ordinals [1, xi] and equipped with the supremun norm. We provide sufficient conditions on X, Y, alpha, beta, xi and eta, with omega <= alpha <= beta < omega 1 for the following equivalence: (a) kappa(C([1, xi], X), C([1, alpha], Y)) is isomorphic to kappa(C([1,eta], X), C([1, beta], Y)), (b) beta < alpha(omega). In this way, we unify and extend results due to Bessaga and Pelczynski (1960) and C. Samuel (2009). Our result covers the case of the classical spaces X = l(p) and Y = l(q) with 1 < p, q < infinity.

A group G is representable in a Banach space X if G is isomorphic to the group of isometrics on X in some equivalent norm. We prove that a countable group G is representable in a separable real Banach space X in several general cases, including when G similar or equal to {-1,1} x H, H finite and dim X >= vertical bar H vertical bar or when G contains a normal subgroup with two elements and X is of the form c(0)(Y) or l(p)(Y), 1 <= p < +infinity. This is a consequence of a result inspired by methods of S. Bellenot (1986) and stating that under rather general conditions on a separable real Banach space X and a countable bounded group G of isomorphisms on X containing -Id, there exists an equivalent norm on X for which G is equal to the group of isometrics on X. We also extend methods of K. Jarosz (1988) to prove that any complex Banach space of dimension at least 2 may be renormed with an equivalent complex norm to admit only trivial real isometries, and that any complexification of a Banach space may be renormed with an equivalent complex norm to admit only trivial and conjugation real isometrics. It follows that every real Banach space of dimension at least 4 and with a complex structure may be renormed to admit exactly two complex structures up to isometry, and that every real Cartesian square may be renormed to admit a unique complex structure up to isometry.
