The purpose of this study was to examine how a change process can be enhanced by the means of communication and trust. This study was cheated by using the existing literature related to the subject.

Les dirigeants-propritaires des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) sont de plus en plus intresss par la gestion des ressources humaines (GRH); certains y voient un avantage concurrentiel face la pnurie de main-duvre actuelle. Considrant que la compatibilit entre les caractristiques des travailleurs et celles de lorganisation peut gnrer des rsultats positifs (Kristof-Brown et Guay, 2011), notre tude sintresse aux pratiques de GRH associes aux valeurs au travail de la gnration Y ainsi que leur effet sur la capacit des PME attirer et retenir cette cohorte. Cette tude qualitative sest ralise grce des donnes primaires colliges la suite dentrevues avec des dirigeants de quatre PME du secteur de la construction et seize employs appartenant la gnration Y uvrant au sein de ces entreprises. Par nos rsultats, nous avons relev que la qualit des relations, autant avec les collgues que les superviseurs, demeure gnralement la principale source dattraction et de rtention des Y dans les PME. Nos rsultats soutiennent aussi que leur attraction et rtention peut tre trs fortement favorise grce des pratiques de communication bidirectionnelle et illimite, une communication stratgique et une libert dans la gestion du temps et des mthodes de travail. La conciliation travail et vie personnelle, les dfis varis, les possibilits davancement, la gestion des ressources humaines socialement responsable, la reconnaissance des comptences ainsi que la gestion participative sont aussi des pratiques pouvant tre fortement lies lattraction et la rtention de cette gnration. Nos rsultats montrent aussi que lattraction et la rtention des Y dans les PME sont modrment favorises par le travail dquipe, les conditions de travail quitables et objectives et la rmunration globale concurrentielle. linverse, la prsence de technologies de linformation et des communications et la formation continue sont des sources plus faibles dattraction et de rtention en comparaison aux autres pratiques abordes dans cette tude. En somme, cette tude contribue la littrature sur la GRH dans les PME, puisque les spcificits relatives ces entreprises ont t peu considres jusqu aujourdhui. Elle permet aussi la recommandation de pratiques utiles aux dirigeants-propritaires et professionnels en ressources humaines uvrant avec le dfi dattraction et de rtention de la gnration Y au sein de leur entreprise.

This dissertation aims to develop a software applied to a communication system for a wireless sensor network (WSN) for tracking analog and digital variables and control valve of the gas flow in artificial oil s elevation units, Plunger Lift type. The reason for this implementation is due to the fact that, in the studied plant configuration, the sensors communicate with the PLC (Programmable and Logic Controller) by the cables and pipelines, making any changes in that system, such as changing the layout of it, as well as inconveniences that arise from the nature of the site, such as the vicinity s animals presence that tend to destroy the cables for interconnection of sensors to the PLC. For software development, was used communication polling method via SMAC protocol (Simple Medium Access ControlIEEE 802.15.4 standard) in the CodeWarrior environment to which generated a firmware, loaded into the WSN s transceivers, present in the kit MC13193-EVK, (all items described above are owners of Freescale Semiconductors Inc.). The network monitoring and parameterization used in its application, was developed in LabVIEW software from National Instruments. The results were obtained through the observation of the network s behavior of sensors proposal, focusing on aspects such as: indoor and outdoor quantity of packages received and lost, general aspects of reliability in data transmission, coexistence with other types of wireless networks and power consumption under different operating conditions. The results were considered satisfactory, which showed the software efficiency in this communication system

Over the last few years Facebook has become a widespread and continuously expanding medium of communication. Being a new medium of social interaction, Facebook produces its own communication style. My focus of analysis is how Facebook users from the city of Malaga create this style by means of phonic features typical of the Andalusian variety and how the users reflect on the use of these phonic features. This project is based on a theoretical framework which combines variationist sociolinguistics with CMC to study the emergence of a style peculiar of the online social networks. In a corpus of Facebook users from three zones of Malaga, I have analysed the use of non-standard phonic features and then compared them with the same features in a reference corpus collected on three beaches of Malaga. From this comparison it can be deduced that the analysed social and linguistic factors work differently in real and virtual speech. Due to these different uses we can consider the peculiar electronic communication of Facebook as a style constrained by the electronic medium. It is a style which serves the users to create social meaning and to express their linguistic identities.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) share the biggest part in Myanmar economy in terms of number, contribution to employment, output, and investment. Myanmar economic growth is thus totally dependent on the development of SMEs in the private sector. Today, the role of SMEs has become more vital in strengthening national competitive advantage and the speedy economic integration into the ASEAN region. However, studies show that SMEs have to deal with a number of constraints that hinder their development potential, such as the shortage in power supply, unavailability of long-term credit from external sources and many others. Among them, the financing problem of SMEs is one of the biggest constraints. Such is deeply rooted in demand and supply issues, macroeconomic fundamentals, and lending infrastructure of the country. The governments policy towards SMEs could also lead to insufficient support for the SMEs. Thus, focusing on SMEs and private sector development as a viable strategy for industrialization and economic development of the country is a fundamental requirement for SME development. This paper recommends policies for stabilizing macro economic fundamentals, improving lending infrastructures of the country and improving demand- and supply-side conditions from the SMEs financing perspective in order to provide a more accessible financing for SMEs and to contribute in the overall development of SMEs in Myanmar thereby to sharpen national competitive advantage in the age of speedy economic integration.

A comunicao essencial para a vida em sociedade. Na atualidade, com o desenvolvimento de novas formas e possibilidades tecnolgicas a comunicao se faz presente tambm no mbito educacional utilizando as Tecnologias da Informao e Comunicao (TIC) para atender s exigncias sociais e educativas. No caso da educao on-line, os MOOC Massive Open Online Courses, vm ganhando destaque e constituem um modelo recente de educao e formao, com a possibilidade de democratizao e acesso ao conhecimento e informao, disponvel a um nmero cada vez maior de pessoas. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste estudo o de analisar as estratgias e recursos comunicacionais utilizados em cursos MOOC, visando elaborar diretrizes a ter em conta na construo de um curso desta natureza. Para tal, optou-se por uma investigao qualitativa, de natureza exploratria-descritiva, em que a reviso bibliogrfica e a construo e aplicao de um modelo de anlise dos recursos e estratgias comunicacionais utilizados nos cursos ofertados em plataformas MOOC, integram a metodologia do estudo. Como principais resultados destacamos que os vdeos e fruns so os recursos mais utilizados nos cursos analisados, observando-se uma tendncia de prticas mais empiristas e tradicionais, h pouca utilizao de recursos ldicos e uma ausncia do uso de redes sociais como recurso comunicacional. Para alm disso, no utilizada a avaliao dos cursos pelos alunos e predominam as estratgias avaliativas de escolha mltipla. Visando compartilhar as experincias e reflexes advindas desta pesquisa, so apresentadas, ao final, recomendaes que podem contribuir para a elaborao de cursos MOOC.

El artculo se basa en los resultados del estudio exploratorio sobre Tecnologias de la Informacin de Comunicacin (TIC) y las decisiones gerenciales en Pequeas Y Medianas Empresas (PYMES), debido a los bajos factores de permanencia de estas empresas en el mercado como son: la aplicacin ineficiente de modelos de comunicacin interna y externa, el poco empleo de las TIC implementadas en las mismas, el uso inadecuado de paquetes informticos y la subutilizacin de los servicios adicionales que prestan los operadores de internet; Adems se logro determinar que al tener poca preparacin administrativa el manejo del comportamiento organizacional es inoperante, todo lo anterior repercute en las decisiones gerenciales. Por lo cual, se desarrollo un anlisis sobre aspectos gerenciales dbiles, especialmente el flujo de la informacin y el empleo de las TIC, a travs de una investigacin cualitativa exploratoria que presenta como resultados una serie de posibles gestiones correctas a implementar y estrategias a disear para afrontar los Tratados de Libre Comercio (TLC) vigentes en Colombia. Por ltimo, se presentan las ventajas de una eficiente comunicacin por medio de medidas operativas e informticas, mostrando algunas herramientas de gestin que se deben adoptar para mejorar productividad.

Management systems standards (MSSs) have developed in an unprecedented manner in the last few years. These MSS cover a wide array of different disciplines, aims and activities of organisations. Also, organisations are populated with an enormous diversity of independent management systems (MSs). An integrated management system (IMS) tends to integrate some or all components of the business. Maximising their integration in one coherent and efficient MS is increasingly a strategic priority and constitutes an opportunity for businesses to be more competitive and consequently, promote its sustainable success. Those organisations that are quicker and more efficient in their integration and continuous improvement will have a competitive advantage in obtaining sustainable value in our global and competitive business world. Several scholars have proposed various theoretical approaches regarding the integration of management sub-systems, leading to the conclusion that there is no common practice for all organisations as they encompass different characteristics. One other author shows that several tangible and intangible gains for organisations, as well as to their internal and external stakeholders, are achieved with the integration of the individual standardised MSs. The purpose of this work was to conceive a model, Flexible, Integrator and Lean for IMSs, according to ISO 9001 for quality; ISO 14001 for environment and OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety (IMSQES), that can be adapted and progressively assimilate other MSs, such as, SA 8000/ISO 26000 for social accountability, ISO 31000 for risk management and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management, among others. The IMSQES model was designed in the real environment of an industrial Portuguese small and medium enterprise, that over the years has been adopting, gradually, in whole or in part, individual MSSs. The developed model is based on a preliminary investigation conducted through a questionnaire. The strategy and research methods have taken into consideration the case study. Among the main findings of the survey we highlight: the creation of added value for the business through the elimination of several organisational wastes; the integrated management of the sustainability components; the elimination of conflicts between independent MS; dialogue with the main stakeholders and commitment to their ongoing satisfaction and increased contribution to the companys competitiveness; and greater valorisation and motivation of employees as a result of the expansion of their skill base, actions and responsibilities, with their consequent empowerment. A set of key performance indicators (KPIs) constitute the support, in a perspective of business excellence, to the follow up of the organisations progress towards the vision and achievement of the defined objectives in the context of each component of the IMS model. The conceived model had many phases and the one presented in this work is the last required for the integration of quality, environment, safety and others individual standardised MSs. Globally, the investigation results, by themselves, justified and prioritised the conception of an IMSQES model, to be implemented at the company where the investigation was conducted, but also a generic model of an IMS, which may be more flexible, integrator and lean as possible, potentiating the efficiency, added value both in the present and, fundamentally, for future.

The intent of this dissertation is to review relevant existing management systems and chemical industry initiatives to identify synergies, overlaps and gaps with Sustainability best practices, to map the barriers to the incorporation of Sustainability and formulate recommendations to facilitate execution of Sustainability practices within existing management systems. A chemical industry Sustainability survey was conducted through APEQ, the Portuguese association of chemical companies, which constitutes the first baseline on the topic for this national industry association. The commonly used international standards and the Responsible Care (RC) initiative were cross-referenced against the United Nations Global Compact Assessment Tool. Guidance on how to incorporate Sustainability into a companys modus operandi was collapsed into Sustainability Playbooks. The survey revealed that 73% of the APEQ member companies that participated in the survey have a Sustainability Plan. Both large and small/medium APEQ member companies see the market not willing to pay extra for greener products as one of the main barriers. APEQ large enterprise see complexity of implementation and low return on investment as the other most significant barriers while small/medium enterprise respond that the difficulty to predict customer sustainability needs is the other most significant barrier. Amongst many other insights from this survey reported to APEQ, Life Cycle Assessment practices were found to have a low level of implementation and were also considered of low importance, thus identifying a very important opportunity in Sustainability practices to be addressed by APEQ. Two hundred and seventy three assessment points from United Nations Global Compact Assessment Tool plus five additional items were cross-referenced with international standard requirements. With the authorization of the intellectual property owners, the United Nations Global Compact Assessment Tool was modified to introduce actionable recommendations for each gap identified by management standard. This tool was automated to output specific recommendations for 63 possible combinations after simply selecting from a list of commonly used management standards and the RC initiative. Finally this modified tool was introduced into Playbooks for Incorporation of Sustainability at two levels: a Get Started Playbook for beginners or small/medium size enterprise and an Advanced Playbook as a second advancement stage or for large enterprise.
