Este trabalho tem como meta mapear o contexto e os principais fatos ligados à história da Rádio-Escola Municipal do Distrito Federal, fundada em 1934. Para tanto são descritas e analisadas as transformações culturais, as propostas educacionais e os projetos políticos contemporâneos à implantação da emissora estudada, buscando compreender o quanto influenciaram em sua concepção e consecução. O trabalho também apresenta outros projetos e publicações elaborados no decorrer das décadas de 1920 a 1940, referentes à utilização do rádio como veículo para educar. O presente trabalho analisou a atuação da emissora estudada até 1945. Porém, dados sobre outros períodos são apresentados, permitindo a visualização de um quadro geral das principais transformações ocorridas na estação, que, em 1946, passa a se chamar Rádio Roquette Pinto.

This paper presents experimental results of an analog baseband circuit for China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting (CMMB) direct conversion receiver in 0.35um SiGe BiCMOS process. It is the first baseband of CMMB RFIC reported so far. A 8(th)-order chebyshev low pass filter (LPF) with calibration system is used in the analog baseband circuit, the filter provides 0.5 dB passband ripple and -35 dB attenuation at 6MHz with the cutoff frequency at 4MHz, the calibration of filter is reported to achieve the bandwidth accuracy of 3%. The baseband variable gain amplifier (VGA) achieves more than 40 dB gain tuning with temperature compensation. In addition, A DC offset cancellation circuit is also introduced to remove the offset from layout and self-mixing, and the remaining offset voltage and current consumption are only 6mV and 412uA respectively. Implemented in a 0.35um SiGe technology with 1.1 mm(2) die size, this tuner baseband achieves OIP3 of 25.5 dBm and dissipate 16.4 mA under 2.8-V supply.

为了鉴别沃特保水剂和PAM不同施用方式的施用效果,在陕北黄土丘陵沟壑区开展了撒施、沟施、穴施对土壤水含量和玉米生长影响的田间试验。结果表明不同施用方式提高了0~10cm土层土壤水含量,而30~40cm土层土壤水含量则随降水量的多少呈现出不同的规律性。随着玉米的生长,不同施用方式影响的土层深度逐渐加深,从三叶期0~50cm土层增加到成熟期的0~200cm土层,土壤水含量表现为沟施、穴施高于撒施,撒施高于对照。3种施用方式对玉米出苗无显著影响,但均提高了玉米生物量、籽粒产量、水分利用效率,降低了玉米的耗水量,其中沟施、穴施的效果强于撒施。沃特、PAM相同施用方式对土壤水含量和玉米生长无显著影响,且沟施和穴施之间无显著性差异,但沃特单位施用量单位面积的增产量高于PAM。玉米生产中,沃特、PAM应以沟施或穴施为主。

An analog baseband circuit made in a 0.35-μm SiGe BiCMOS process is presented for China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting (CMMB) direct conversion receivers. A high linearity 8th-order Chebyshev low pass filter (LPF) with accurate calibration system is used. Measurement results show that the filter provides 0.5-dB pass-band ripple, 4% bandwidth accuracy, and -35-dB attenuation at 6 MHz with a cutoff frequency of 4 MHz. The current steering type variable gain amplifier (VGA) achieves more than 40-dB gain range with excellent temperature compensation.This tuner baseband achieves an OIP3 of 25.5 dBm, dissipates 16.4 mA under a 2.8-V supply and occupies 1.1 mm~2 of die size.

To serve asynchronous requests using multicast, two categories of techniques, stream merging and periodic broadcasting have been proposed. For sequential streaming access where requests are uninterrupted from the beginning to the end of an object, these techniques are highly scalable: the required server bandwidth for stream merging grows logarithmically as request arrival rate, and the required server bandwidth for periodic broadcasting varies logarithmically as the inverse of start-up delay. However, sequential access is inappropriate to model partial requests and client interactivity observed in various streaming access workloads. This paper analytically and experimentally studies the scalability of multicast delivery under a non-sequential access model where requests start at random points in the object. We show that the required server bandwidth for any protocols providing immediate service grows at least as the square root of request arrival rate, and the required server bandwidth for any protocols providing delayed service grows linearly with the inverse of start-up delay. We also investigate the impact of limited client receiving bandwidth on scalability. We optimize practical protocols which provide immediate service to non-sequential requests. The protocols utilize limited client receiving bandwidth, and they are near-optimal in that the required server bandwidth is very close to its lower bound.

In 1937 Lisa Sergio, "The Golden Voice" of fascist broadcasting from Rome, fled Italy for the United States. Though her mother was American, Sergio was classified as an enemy alien once the United States entered World War II. Yet Sergio became a U.S. citizen in 1944 and built a successful career in radio, working first at NBC and then WQXR in New York City in the days when women's voices were not thought to be appropriate for news or "serious" programming. When she was blacklisted as a communist in the early 1950s, Sergio compensated for the loss of radio employment by becoming principally an author and lecturer in Washington, D.C., until her death in 1989. This dissertation, based on her personal papers, is the first study of Sergio's American mass communication career. It points out the personal, political and social obstacles she faced as a woman in her 52-year career as a commentator on varied aspects of world affairs, religion and feminism. This study includes an examination of the FBI investigations of Sergio and the anti-communist campaigns conducted against her. It concludes that Sergio's success as a public communicator was predicated on both her unusual talents and her ability to transform her public image to reflect ideal American values of womanhood in shifting political climates.

The scalability of a computer system is its response to growth. It is also depended on its hardware, its operating system and the applications it is running. Most distributed systems technology today still depends on bus-based shared memory which do not scale well, and systems based on the grid or hypercube scheme requires significantly less connections than a full inter-connection that would exhibit a quadratic growth rate. The rapid convergence of mobile communication, digital broadcasting and network infrastructures calls for rich multimedia content that is adaptive and responsive to the needs of individuals, businesses and the public organisations. This paper will discuss the emergence of mobile Multimedia systems and provides an overview of the issues regarding design and delivery of multimedia content to mobile devices.

The present article analyses the preferences of the deaf who use sign language and are users of the TV interpretation service to sign language, as well as the characteristics with which TV channels provide that service in television in Spain. The objective is to establish whether the way in which the aforementioned accessibility service is provided matches the preferences of users or differ from them. The analysis presents the opinion on this service of the deaf that use the Spanish sign language as their first language for communication. A study has also been conducted on the programmes broadcast with sign language during week 10-16/03/2014. The main data collected reveal that the deaf are dissatisfied with broadcasting times. They ask for news programmes with sign language, they would rather have the interpretation carried out by deaf people who use sign language and they prefer that the interpreter is the main image on screen. Concerning the analysis of the programmes broadcast, the study shows that the majority of programmes with sign language are broadcast at night, they are entertainment programmes, the interpretation is carried out by hearing people who use sign language and that their image is displayed in a corner of the screen.

A study on Extremenian music and audiovisual production has been carried out through YouTube media. The purpose of this study is to analyze all audiovisual products and also assessing what broadcasting processes are conducted by creators to publicize their musical and audiovisual works. A quantitative and qualitative study of audiovisual materials of Extremadura bands was done to find out which processes are most suitable to increase the number of viewers for videos.

The technical challenges in the design and programming of signal processors for multimedia communication are discussed. The development of terminal equipment to meet such demand presents a significant technical challenge, considering that it is highly desirable that the equipment be cost effective, power efficient, versatile, and extensible for future upgrades. The main challenges in the design and programming of signal processors for multimedia communication are, general-purpose signal processor design, application-specific signal processor design, operating systems and programming support and application programming. The size of FFT is programmable so that it can be used for various OFDM-based communication systems, such as digital audio broadcasting (DAB), digital video broadcasting-terrestrial (DVB-T) and digital video broadcasting-handheld (DVB-H). The clustered architecture design and distributed ping-pong register files in the PAC DSP raise new challenges of code generation.
