Desencantamento do mundo e ética na ação pedagógica: reflexões a partir de Max Weber

This article has a theoretical character and presents some of Weber's ideas, with emphasis on those that can supply elements to reflect on the current state of education, more particularly based on his understanding of modernity. Disenchantment of the world is the key concept in his sociology, and is taken as the basis for a reflection about the meaning that science and the teacher can have today. A classic author, Weber's interpretation of the modern world brings to our consideration a variety of themes that influence markedly the thinking and practice of contemporary culture by its concern with understanding human actions and values. By studying the Western process of rationalization, he initiates debates in science, in ethics and, correspondingly, in education, allowing us to expand our comprehension of the meaning, significance, and role of our actions towards knowledge and teaching. The main object of education is to offer students contents that stimulate the freedom of thought. For that, the teacher needs to adopt a non-partisan ethics in the classroom, presenting contents unbiased by her/his political opinions and, if failing to do so, having the honesty to explain what she/he is doing. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the teacher should keep a neutral position, so that in and out of the classroom the students may reflect and question what they see, experiment and decide upon. Only then the conduct of the teacher will be consistent with the process of rationalization of our culture.

A educação física no ensino médio em escolas particulares: as perspectivas de alunos, diretores, coordenadores e professores de educação física

Although physical education is regulated by law and recognized as a mandatory component of basic education class, which includes high school, there are many reports that these classes do not actually happen. Such evidence shows the situation experienced by the author of this study, which brought this research to the attention. Therefore, the objective was to investigate and understand the perspective of students, physical education teachers, principals and coordinators forward their ideas to this reality, about the high school physical education in private schools. The research made use of qualitative approach, guided by an exploratory study. The technique was undertaken to collect the questionnaire with open and closed questions, involving 263 students enrolled in high school of four schools in two cities in the state of Sao Paulo and also the director, coordinator and professor of physical education of each one of these institutions, resulting in 12 education professionals. The categories of analysis were defined as: 1. Regarding physical education in high school, 2. The occurrence of physical rducation in high school, 3. Content and dynamic strategies developed in class 4. Student participation in class. The results show that despite, although some schools have physical education classes, there are still many students who do not take them. This reveals a double challenge to the area, which is: although it is essential that such a curriculum component is included in the grades (respecting the regional law legal system) that is not enough students that actually participate in it. As teachers, coordinators and directors recognize the importance of effective physical education, there are numerous of factors that deserve consideration to better understand this reality. Ensino de ciências e educação moral: uma interface de implicações mútuas

Nas teorias sociomorais que perpassam Piaget, Kohlberg e Habermas, encontramos subsídios para o ensino de Ciências que se estabelece na perspectiva da construção crítica do conhecimento e da desmistificação da visão de ciência, assim como, de forma correspondente, também encontramos nos pressupostos do ensino crítico e desmistificado de Ciências um conjunto de subsídios que potencializa o desenvolvimento moral e a dimensão ética discursiva. Neste artigo, compartilhamos com o leitor alguns de nossos argumentos em prol da existência dessa ainda subestimada interface de implicações mútuas entre Ensino de Ciências e Educação Moral, com a presença de relevantes subsídios teórico-práticos que uma área pode dar à outra. A expectativa é que as discussões apresentadas contribuam para a reflexão do trabalho docente, numa perspectiva de educação científica e moral baseada no processo de construção da autonomia do aluno.

O rádio na educação brasileira

The scenario that outlines this research project is characterized by the centrality of ICT on society and the necessity of having them embedded on education, both face-to-face and distance learning. Amongst the available ICT, the medium radio has been chosen due to its popularity within Brazilian society, as well as its 90 years of initiatives applied on education. Although the radio seems to be historically useful to education, it has been supporting more conservative approaches, such as teaching centred practices, simplytransmitted lessons and assessment based on memorization. On the other hand, Brazilian educational system has been changed since the early 90s, and those reforms brought new challenges to the radio on education, such as training critical listeners, concerned citizens, people with aesthetic sensibility, ethical standards etc. Thus, a systematic assessment of the real educational possibilities of the radio is even more necessary. This research projectaims to retrieve the most prominent educational initiatives using the radio, connecting them to the Brazilian regulatory framework on Education. The methodology consists of desk research and official documents analyses.

Esferas de sociabilidade na formação dos valores profissionais dos estudantes brasileiros: entre a educação universitária e o mercado de trabalho

A partir de um questionário aplicado a alunos de Jornalismo, a pesquisa visa mapear como esses estudantes se posicionam em relação aos valores formadores da cultura e da ética profissional, bem como avaliar quais são as práticas profissionais consideradas validadas ou não por eles. Foi feito um cruzamento de dados entre os estudantes dos primeiros e dos últimos anos, entre os alunos do sexo feminino e masculino, entre os que já atuam no mercado de trabalho e os que ainda não exercem a atividade profissional e entre os estudantes de diferentes posicionamentos políticos. Isso permitiu observar quais são as mudanças de valores que os estudantes passam ao longo do curso, além de uma medição dos fatores de influência em relação às diversas esferas de sociabilidade. Dentre os cruzamentos, a maior amplitude das diferenças de respostas foi obtida entre alunos que já trabalham e os que ainda não, o que nos leva a repensar o papel da tríade ensino-pesquisa-extensão nas faculdades de Jornalismo.

With the purpose to contribute to the construction of quality indicators in human resources management, this study aimed at identifying, from the perspective of nurse managers, essential elements in the composition of indicators for evaluating human resources management in nursing. To that end, phenomenology was adopted as the theoretical methodological framework for this qualitative investigation, in which ten nurses performing in teaching or care provision at a university hospital participated. Following approval by the Committee of Ethics in Research and the subjects’ consent, interviews were performed from September 2005 to July 2006. The analysis enabled the recovery of the following topics “Professional education”, “Training multiprofessional nursing teams” and “Institutional training conditions” in the Permanent Education category and topics “Actions that favor participant management” and “Team work” in the Participant Management category. In its conclusion, the study considers the findings to allow identify elements constituting quality indicators in human resources management.
