To the observe the periods of electoral campaigns, we can realize sharply the abundance of political propaganda that announces the candidates, their campaign record, their proposed and everything that can carry them to the victory in the urns. The propaganda is today an essential tool in the votes dispute, in consequence of this, there is, in Brazil, the increasing participation of the Politics Parties in seminars of electoral marketing. They are varied strategies of the media used in the divulging of the candidacies, among them the slogan. Instigated by the explicit relation media/political, this work intends to investigate the ideologies (values) announced by the slogans of political propaganda that circulated in electoral periods. Thus, we base on the theory of the Circle of Bakhtin, who considers the statement as unit of the verbal communication, and that conceives the language as phenomenon dialogical, and, too, in the conceptions of alien words, social voices and dialogical relations formulated by the referred theory. We use, for better to comprehend, the slogan as strategy mediatic, of the classical study done by Olivier Reboul concerning the slogan; and, like starting point of a conception about ideology, studied John Thompson to comprehends the ideological phenomenon. Our corpus it constitutes of 14 political slogans announced in the campaigns for mayor of the cities in Natal and Mossor, both located in Rio Grande do Norte s state, Brazil, in 1996, 2000 and 2004. For the analysis of these slogans, we consider the social-historical context in which were announced, being contemplated the linguistic and discursive aspect, according to the following methodological order: the identification of alien words (interdiscours); the social voices and the kinds dialogical relations established; and, finally, the ideology announced by the statement. This way, we can arrive to the conclusion that in the electoral context occurs a true ideologies war , in other words, in the political game of an electoral campaign, the slogans announces different values, which vary in several factors function, for example, the historicity, the subject that enunciates, the discursive positionings.

La pieza-poema Morte e Vida severina Auto de natal pernambucano, de Joo Cabral de Melo Neto, publicada en 1956, es el principal objeto de este estudio, interaccionando con las obras O Co sem plumas y O rio por la similitud temtica entre ellas: el estudio sobre esas obras busca una lectura desvinculada del posicionamiento constructivista y metalingstico que por tradicin configura la obra cabralina, no por negar a la crtica literaria que da respaldo cientfico, pero con la pretensin de lanzar una nueva mirada dirigida para el concepto de barroco, materia sta que implica la creacin potica a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Por lo tanto, este trabajo presenta una propuesta de anlisis de la poesa de Joo Cabral a partir del contexto neobarroco. Considerando, sobre todo, los aspectos similares a la temtica del barroco, el enfoque recae sobre la influencia de la literatura ibrica por que pasa el poeta Joo Cabral, as como la temtica sobre el conflicto existencial explorado en el texto Morte e Vida severina, y an, los extractos de lenguaje con significacin mltiple que presentan signos metonmicos y metafricos.

The present work objective to study the configurations that the hinterland it acquires in the workmanship Great hinterland: trails, of Guimares Rosa demonstrating as this author humanize this element, conferring to it characters universal mystics and through investigations, uncertainties, the auto-corrections of Riobaldo that become hinterland a metaphor of the human interior. Three are the chapters, that they will guide this work: the chapter 1 presents as element key for characterization of the epic one in Great hinterland: trails, the mining hinterland replete of trails, palco of exuberant vegetation, huge and multidimensional scene, where it has an entrecruzamento of fiction and reality. It retakes quarrel of critics as Manuel Cavalcanti Proena, Roberto Schwarz, on the existing epic character in the Great hinterland: trails, constructed from deriving myths of the universal culture, that they had been become popular. O termo melancolia, como foi mostrado em todo o decorrer do nosso trabalho, principalmente no histrico da melancolia, um termo, por excelncia, escorregadio. De vrias facetas, a melancolia pode vir a designar desde patologia, passando por inspirao filosfica, para desaguar num modo de ver a vida, como bem nos coloca Denlson Lopes em seu livro Ns os mortos: melancolia e neo Barroco (1999). A Asa Esquerda do Anjo (LUFT, 2005) uma obra que j nos acompanha h algum tempo, pois desde a graduao estudamo-la. Em torno da protagonista, chamada de Gisela pela me e Gusela pela av, circula toda a trama desse romance moderno. Tentamos visualiz-la nos trs captulos da dissertao. No primeiro, focalizamos a obra sob o aspecto de uma possvel esttica da melancolia, tendo por base terica Marie Claude Lambotte (2000). Depois, elaboramos algumas linhas sobre as perdas da protagonista que do enredo emergem. Por fim, demonstramos Gisela pelo aspecto de mltiplas faces. Sabendo que uma obra literria infinita em seus significados, cremos que A Asa Esquerda do Anjo (2005) suscita outras nuances. Isto nos d a certeza que no um texto acabado, finalizado. Estas nuances podero ser estudadas, pesquisadas em uma outra oportunidade por ns ou por outros leitores de Luft. A fim de estudar a melancolia em Gisela, fundamentamos nossa dissertao com os estudos de Freud (1980) a respeito do tema. Este faz uma anlise comparando a melancolia ao luto, para poder chegar, assim, a um denominador comum, j que o termo flexvel em seus significados. Freud e alguns outros autores no campo, tais como, Bataille (1980); Benjamin (1984); Erickson (2003); Klein (1971); Kristeva (1989); Lino (2004); Peres (2003); Santos (2005), Scliar (2003), pois, nos auxiliaram em nossas pesquisas e direcionaram melhor o nosso olhar sobre a obra. Acreditamos ter alcanado nosso objetivo estudar a obra A Asa Esquerda do Anjo (LLUFT, 2005) pelo foco da melancolia e suas nuances. Gisela um personagem inacabado. Em seu discurso ela deixa isto bem ntido. Assim tambm, no buscamos respostas prontas, com teor de acabamento. O fechar da histria est nas mos do leitor. Mas, medida que reiniciamos nova leitura, percebemos algo novo, que pode ser extrado da obra, do personagem, da trama. neste abrir/fechar que a prpria Gisela sussurra: Vem, vem, vem.... Ao chamar a todos ns, chama tambm para um novo caminhar com ela, em suas perturbaes subjetivas e sua ausncia de respostas. Ao aceitarmos este convite, fica difcil retornarmos pelo mesmo caminho de antes. necessrio, ento, junto com este ser de papel, rever nossos passos, para, enfim, redimensionarmos nossa escrita acerca de ns mesmos e (por que no dizer?) do mundo que nos circunda

In this work, the argumentative strategies construction in university entrance examinations texts is analyzed. The study intended to present, through the analyzed occurrences in the corpus, the discursive strategies use for the argumentation construction, observing the different lexicalization forms and the effects that these strategies produced for the intended meaning construction. Aiming to analyze the modalization via texts written by candidates for the UFRN entrance examination, the relations between this category and the resources used for the argumentative guidance of the text were highlighted. Conceived as a speaker argumentative strategy to express his/her relationship with the proposition content which enunciates, the modalization is, thus, one of the linguistic expression form used for the attainment of intended meaning effects in the argumentation construction. In order to substantiate the research, the theoretical assumptions adopted were the propositions which deal with this linguistic category, guiding it to a pragmatic-semantic perspective as well as a discursive-semantic one. Hence, Neves ( 1996, 2006), Koch ( 2000, 2002), Cervoni ( 1989), Bronkart (1999) and Castilho; Morais de Castilho (1996) studies, among others founded this work. Afterwards, a contextualized analysis of the modalized statements, taking into account all the set of elements implied on the argumentation construction, was carried out. The research, which had a strict qualitative character, revealed that the candidates make use of modalization to express commitment or dissociation as regards the statement which they produce; to obtain credibility and provide more authority to their arguments, thus avoiding them of being contested; to impose their arguments as real ones and acquire acceptance of the interlocutor; to lessen the proposition content and disguise the knowledge source; to comment the enunciation and attribute the discourse to another sender; to establish a dialogic relation with the interlocutor. In addition to offering support for new investigations, the research also aims to contribute for the mother tongue teaching, emphasizing the need of a focus which provides special attention to the written language functioning and its application diversity. Joo Cabral de Melo Neto n a jamais aim les vers sentimentaux et prolixes venus de la tradition romantique. C est pour a que son uvre a un discours objectif, rigoureusement elabor e elle comporte certaines influences concretistes a explique pourquoi l auteur est connu comme l ingnieur de la langage. En verit, le pote mme dissait qu il tait un homme froid et rationnel. La critique a assidument analys la matire logique et le rigeuer formel de l uvre de Cabral de Melo. Pourtant, dans ce travail nous analysons les pomes dont le sentiments humaines sont la mtire principal de l laboration de l experince esthtique. La posie de Joo Cabral n est pas simple verbalisme formel, ni un uvre sens vie, car les objects concrtes et la langage objectif n empchent pas qui le sujet dcrit avec motion les scnes presents dans les pomes. Nous travaillons avec la hypothse de que le pote a une attitude trop humaine quand il parle de l experience culturel et de l experience de la vie dans le Nord-est brsilien. Les units tmathiques de ce travail, pourtant, montrent la reprsentation du Nord-est dans la posie de Joo Cabral et examinent aussi le sentiment qu il sent par la memoire culturel de sa rgion. Parmi les aspects qui composent sa lyrique humaine nous citons la personification constant de les paysages du Nord-est le pote ne veux pas faire une dcrition tophographique de la rgion parce que les places ont un valeuer sentimentel pour lui; au moyen d un discours erotique, Cabral represente les desirs et les intints humaines de sa terre; ensuite, il semble que le pote est enchant et envelopp avec certains elemets culturels de sa rgion, come l hamac, la littrature oral et la musique rgional; la preoccupation avec la population explore et la denonciation de la condition miserable dans le Nord-est brsilien confirment aussi la humanit prsent dans son uvre; finalment, la rcordation de l enfance et la nostalgie du temps pass sont, pour le pote, un possibilit qui peut aider dans la formation humaine de la population

El poeta Jos de Anchieta, a travs de sus poesas, contribuy para la formacin de la literatura en suelo brasileo. Con eso, l proporcion un encuentro entre los dos mundos lo Nuevo y lo Viejo, Amrica y Europa representados en la unin entre los pares antagnicos que son constantes en la potica anchietana, como lo sagrado y lo profano, la muerte y la vida, lo simple y lo erudito. Su potica traduce, por lo tanto, las huellas de la antropofagia cultural, en que el indio y el blanco son uno slo; el pagano y el cristiano, juntos, caminan para el centro de sus ideologas concebidas por la catequesis y por el popular. En esa amalgama entre las culturas, l construye un nuevo cdigo cultural-lingstico-literario, formando una nueva identidad para la tierra brasilea, abriendo las puertas para el barroco. Sus poemas estn en cuatro lenguas: portugus, tup, latn y espaol. Y de ese conjunto, nuestra disertacin analiza el corpus en lengua espaola, que en el suelo americano deja de ser espaola y se vuelve ibero-americana. Como fuentes de estudio crtico-terico, nos basamos, como ejemplos, en las obras de Haroldo de Campos, Severo Sarduy, Eugnio D Ors, Lezama Lima, Oswald de Andrade, Alfredo Bosi, Massaud Moiss. As, esta disertacin muestra, por el medio de la poesa iberoamericana de Jos de Anchieta el rasgo del inicio de nuestra literatura as como del barroco americano y, adems, conjuga su poesa dentro del espacio de los Clsicos una vez que se comunica con estos desde el proceso de su produccin. En esa intercomunicacin, Jos de Anchieta promueve una apertura para la consciencia potica que hace parte de los grandes poetas de la Literatura Universal. l une el Brasil, con sus matas vrgenes, con su primitivismo, al Mundo, con su censura desmedida ante la visin del Paraso

Using Harold Bloom s methodology known as dialectical revisionism we undertake the task of misreading of Vincius de Moraes (1913- 1980) poems Potica (1950), Operrio em construo (1955), Potica II (1960) against Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) and his poem A Song: Men of England, suggesting that the Brazilian poet trammeled a battle with his poetic triad, in which Operrio em Construo is Vinicius s main weapon. It is suggested here that each one of Vinciuspoem represents a step of what Bloom calls anxiety of influence . The misreading proposed confronts the themes and the imagery of the poems, arguing that Shelley and Vincius are similar when they approach exploitation and working class consciousness according to the Dialectic Marxism pattern, and that Vinciuss poem was not only inspired by Shelley s, but using one of the strategies suggested by Bloom, he corrects the ideological flaws of Shelley s poem. It is also discussed the possibility that both poems are inspired by Platos (428-7 a 348-7 a.C.) allegory of the cave, his concept of justice and the moral construction of the polis defended in A Repblica. Thus, considering the process of misreading, these five poems constitute what Bloom calls a family romance , which is characterizes the phenomenon of melancholy of creativity

In this research we present a study of cultural aspects in dubbed and subtitled films. As a case study, we chose to compare the original French version of "Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain" with both the subtitled and the dubbed versions in Portuguese, with focus on the interaction between the French and the Brazilian cultures. First we considered that (i) the translation process interferes on the perception of cultural relationships; and that (ii) dubbing and subtitling are two methods of translation that result in distinct perceptions from the spectator. Then, we adopted the translation interpretative theory (Seleskovicth; Lederer, 2001; Deslile, 1980) as the general theoretical framework, since it emphasizes the extralinguistic equivalence on the translation process. Furthermore, we based this research on three analytical procedures, which are: the four-step translating operation, the contrastive perception and a translation's typology based on Vinay and Dalbernet's linguistic procedures (Srpov, 1991, 1995, 2004). We extracted forty-six culture-related elements from the film and identified those belonging to the French ethno-universe. Then, the elements were classified with respect to a theoretical typology, based on concepts found in the Ethnography of Communication and a general typology, based on five general thematic groups, defined by the corpus. The results showed that both Brazilian versions tend to preserve those culture-related elements by using lexical loan and literal translation. The visual context, in its association with the linguistic procedures in both Brazilian versions, was also observed as an important element to the comprehension of the culture-related elements as they are considered in the French culture. As a general observation, the perception of culture-related elements in the film seems effectively be oriented by the translation methods

This research analyses the silencehood use by the A Repblica journal (Natal/RN), today not being distributed, during the Second World War. Its objective is to unveil the production condition of the news texts, and it was observed that the use of silencehood as a speech strategy with its implications that falls upon the way of behaving and thinking of the society, all that time, influencing the reader in the construction of his image of the reality. During the coverage of the conflict by the local journal it was possible to also observe different speech marks that represented the change in attitude of the Brazilian Government, responsible for the control of what was spread as news. The country lived the dictatorship of the New State and as the war went on the government changed its speech, according to political, social and economical interest s thoughts being played, silencing themes in the name of the national security. We admit as research material journalistic texts that refer to the main facts that occurred during the six years of the world conflict and that is why we used as theoric-metodological support the Speech Analysis

This dissertation work is an effort to understand how the ideology and the power interferes in the signification of the speeches immersed in the context of the printed media concerning the drought in the Northeast of Brazil, weather occurrence that punishes 23 million of Brazilians, with all sort of problems. It also has specific concern about the everyday usage of the language and with the routines of the information production, without losing of sight the role of History in the formation of the identity of individuals and people. The research work is also developed in an interdisciplinary environment, applying to the formed corpus five articles from Folha de So Paulo , collected from January to July of 2005, the French Analysis method of the Speech and the theory of the polyphony of Bakhtin, in the Applied Linguistics area, accomplished with Communication beddings as the agenda-setting. The results ended to a good understanding about the ideology and powers influence and chaining in the speeches formations as well as to comprehend peoples concept in an environment of almost-mediated interaction, bringing a media look about polyphony in the bakhtinian mold, besides showing how all these questions interferes with the half-barren the Northeast medias vision on the subject

Les symboles et les signes de Noites do Serto, de Joo Guimares Rosa, contient l tude d une dition de cette ouvrage, publi par Livraria Jos Olmpio Editora, en 1975. Un diteur arrte. Notre priorit c est montrer au lecteur les dgradations rsultants d altrations ou d omissions qu on vrifie dans les publications postrieurs; d une manire spcifique, les ditions mais rcents. Dans le primiere chapitre, notre recherche privilgie l analyse et l explication de las inscirtions qui sons enregistr dans la partie exterior, ou dans la couverture de ce livre. Le deuxime chapitre traite des rflexions sur ce qui se rfre au revers de la couverture, dans le ct gauche: les nigmes dont l auteur utilise avec l intention de bien idiquer au lecteur orientations pour envisager les aspects des narratives. Combien, nous mditerons ici sur la signification des pigraphes de cette ouvrage; sur les noms des personnages les plus importants et sur la connexion de ce livre avec autres textes littraires. Dans le troisime chapitre nous explicitons la rlation de contigut avec cette ouvrage et le platonisme. O Chapitre quatre s occupe d tudier toutes cettes symboles vrifier ici sur la prspective de la vision Junguienne (C.G.Jung); et dans le cinq, analysons les relations possibles de cette ouvrage avec autres livres du mme criteur. Finalement, nous prsentons un vocabulaire qui est trs importants pour la comprhention des mots mais compliqu dans ce texte crit pour Joo Guimares Rosa

This research investigates current sense effects at the use of linguistic resources of the argument in a corpus constituted by juridical pieces (Initial Petitions), that gave opportunity to actions originated from the Civil Special Court of the District of Currais Novos-RN. For this purpose it was established a relation between the Law and the Linguistics, mediated by the focus of the Argumentative Semantics, emphasizing, in a special way, the use of argumentative operators, which inserted in the own language, in its grammar, assume the orientation of the speech and the modalizers use, important mechanisms in the construction of the sense of the text and in the signalling in the way as that that one say is said,. This way, we began the investigation of that gender choosing as study object the section of the facts , that comprehends a part of Initial Petition where is explanted the narration of events that gave margin to the proposal for the Action. In face of the study object and the aim to be reached it was appealed, methodologically, to the notion of Rhetoric since from the classic antiquity to the emergence of the New present Rhetoric in Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca (2005) that, at the present time, is inserted in the studies of the Pragmatic connected to the central theses of the Ducrot s thinking (1977, 1980, 1987). Such referential allowed us to a better understanding about the production of the juridical speech on the part of the operators of the Law, as well as, to analyze in way wide the current sense effects from the use of argument linguistic marks the juridical speech. The data showed that such marks are indispensable elements to the construction of the textual web, particularly when in the range of the juridical argumentation, since they direct the speech for certain conclusions. However, we have observed that in the texts produced by the lawyers the use of those linguistic resources not always takes place in an appropriate way. The texts analyzed have also showed that it is possible to unmask, through the linguistic resources, the argumentative strategy employed by the authors for convincing of the magistrate, making evident that language is more than a system of signs, which it makes possible to see beyond the limit of the words and statements. Finally, we have verified that the categories analyzed, when used appropriately, are elements that engender argumentative maneuvers of effectiveness in the juridical text, being fundamental pieces which give argumentative strength the text, making the speech to move forward, not only the juridical, but the speech produced in any domain of the knowledge

The corpus of this work constitutes an analysis the literary work As Filhas do Arco-ris, by Eulcio Farias de Lacerda, considering object of study myths, legends and popular stories as estruturant elements of the romance. The unchainment of this reading considers aspects of the oral tradition as starting point for the rupture tradition. In that perspective, it became fundamental to describe aspects of the popular culture that consolidated the Brazilian Literature during the 20th century. Like this, it was necessary to understand the development of oral elements and the structuring of the folk-tales, pointing out that As Filhas do Arco-ris was built in a especial way with regionalist characteristics, following the parameters of the romances published among the years 1930 and 1950. In the researched work, it was noticed a narrative that gathers stories, legends, myths, proverbs and oral locutions. In this, it reveals that the Brazilian literary production grew in aesthetics and thematic. Like this, As Filhas do Arco-ris is an exercise of the experience regionalist inserted in the contemporary novel, because even with your first publication in 1980, the narrative is configured to the molds of a Romance de 30
