This paper proposes the development of biologically inspired robots as the capstone project of the European Project Semester (EPS) framework. EPS is a one semester student centred international programme offered by a group of European engineering schools (EPS Providers) as part of their student exchange programme portfolio. EPS is organized around a central module (the EPS project) and a set of complementary supportive modules. Project proposals refer to open multidisciplinary real world problems. Its purpose is to expose students to problems of a greater dimension and complexity than those faced throughout the degree programme as well as to put them in contact with the socalled real world, in opposition to the academic world. Students are organized in teams, grouping individuals from diverse academic backgrounds and nationalities, and each team is fully responsible for conducting its project. EPS provides an integrated framework for undertaking capstone projects, which is focused on multicultural and multidisciplinary teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, leadership, entrepreneurship, ethical reasoning and global contextual analysis. The design and development of biologically inspired robots allows the students to fulfil the previously described requirements and objectives and, as a result, we recommend the adoption of these projects within the EPS project capstone module for the benefit of engineering students.

O presente relatrio insere-se no mbito da unidade curricular de Prtica de Ensino Supervisionada. um trabalho individual de sntese e de reflexo fundamentada sobre o percurso realizado no estgio, e de investigao com vista resoluo de problemas e conhecimento da realidade das prticas educativas do sistema de ensino especializado de msica. Deste modo, definido o quadro contextual sobre a evoluo deste sistema de ensino e as complexidades que o tm caraterizado, o desenvolvimento curricular, particularmente o lugar que a disciplina de Formao Musical ocupa no currculo, e o Conservatrio de Msica de Paredes. Sobre o percurso formativo desempenhado nesta instituio educativa e sobre os dados recolhidos da observao naturalista no participante das aulas de duas turmas do ensino articulado, elaborada uma reflexo crtica fundamentada, relativamente a todos os processos didticos e pedaggicos. Complementarmente apresentado um projeto de investigao qualitativa realizado no mbito da unidade curricular de Seminrio de Investigao em ensino de Msica, tendo em vista a contribuio para uma prtica pedaggica mais enriquecida, informada e fundamentada. O objeto de estudo est relacionado com a rea disciplinar de Formao Musical, sob o tema Audio Harmnica: importncia e estratgias para um desenvolvimento auditivo integral. Os objetivos do projeto visam verificar: i) quais os recursos utilizados e as estratgias e metodologias de ensino praticadas nas aulas de Formao Musical para o desenvolvimento da audio harmnica; ii) quais os objetivos e contedos contemplados nos programas da mesma disciplina; iii) que atividades so sugeridas em alguns manuais de Formao Musical. Os dados obtidos permitiram verificar que, apesar da importncia atribuda audio harmnica na formao de msicos, esta competncia representa uma das maiores dificuldades dos alunos e, no mbito da Formao Musical, h pouca diversidade de vivncias, experincias musicais e outras atividades contextualizadas musicalmente.

This thesis focused on the study and treatment of a 19th century female portrait in oil from ECOMUSEU Municipal do Seixal, Portugal. The portrait, which depicts Isabel Maria Loureno Affonso was in poor condition and a large strip of paint and canvas was missing (approximately 9cm by 66cm, almost 11% of the total surface area). The portrait is a companion piece to a male portrait (the relationship was established as part of this study), therefore a technical study of both paintings was considered essential to support the choices made during the treatment. The project involved three main areas: - The study of the history, condition, materials and techniques of both paintings. This allowed their comparison and understanding of their relationship; - The treatment of Isabel Maria Loureno Affonso. The choices made and problems encountered are described. - The production of a replacement for the missing strip of paint and canvas. The practical solution developed to overcome such an unusual challenge is described along with the creative and flexible thinking required. Because not all traditional infill materials cope well on a mechanical level with thin layers over a very large surface (many are too brittle), strict criteria had to be employed to choose the appropriate material. The primary goal was to find a fill which would remain flexible and be capable of accepting surface texture, such that there would be a good visual match with the painting. Analysis and testing was carried out to evaluate the physical properties of the fill material chosen, BEVA Gesso-P. RESUMO - O decisor hospitalar tem como funo decidir os recursos de uma organizao de sade, sejam estes financeiros, materiais ou humanos, sendo decisivo o conhecimento e informao que o apoiem na aplicabilidade nas tomadas de deciso e na soluo dos problemas. As tomadas de deciso suportam-se em modelos reproduzidos pelos decisores, em processos, modelos, e em princpios, que podem ou no assumir intuio, objetividade, racionalidade e tica, bem como de tcnicas vrias que podem ser limitativas ou condicionadas, por fora de fatores vrios, como: a falta de informao inerente de uma multidisciplinaridade do processo; de condicionalismos organizacionais, internos ou externos, associados envolvente e cultura organizacional e influncias polticas e macroeconmicas; ao fator tempo; a tecnologia; a estrutura e desenho organizacional; a autoridade/poder e a autonomia para decidir; a liderana, e do estatuto jurdico que o hospital possui. Este ltimo ponto ser esmiuado, mais profundamente, neste estudo. Iremos, atravs do estudo, compreender se os elementos componentes das decises tomadas nos hospitais, so ou no adaptadas em consonncia com diferentes polticas de governao hospitalar, em contextos e dinmicas organizacionais diferenciadas, por diferentes Estatutos Jurdicos Hospitalares - EPE, SPA, PPP e Privados. Foi realizado um estudo de carter exploratrio, descritivo-correlacional e transversal, baseou-se num questionrio aplicado a decisores hospitalares, incidindo nos dois vetores centrais do estudo, na tomada de deciso e no estatuto jurdico hospitalar. A deciso ento, um valiosssimo veculo na persecuo das estratgias e planos formulados pelo hospital, esperando-se destes produzir consequentes resultados eficientes, eficazes e efetivos na sua aplicao.

This work project takes the format of a problem-solving approach suggested by Impulse Partners, a French consulting firm. It recommends a way to measure the success of ten startups in the incubators Starburst and Incubator Construction & Energy and give them strategic guidance. A Balanced Scorecard is elaborated to help incubated startups building up and implementing their strategy. The Scorecard suggests possible initiatives for the startups that are ideally realized with the help of the consulting firm that is steering the incubator. Special attention is drawn to what the startups need to succeed, which typically concerns financing, networking and managing skills.

This work project was conducted under a Direct Research internship (DRI) that consists on an individual dissertation established on a given organization. DRI has a problem solving format to an empirical question to be addressed, Which country has the highest potential for the next step of XY internationalization process? . In order to achieve the projects purpose, it was conducted a scanning process using a top-down approach over an initial list of nine countries given by XY. To do so it was developed an international scanning framework based on different domains and weights that allowed to achieve the top two countries with highest potential. After an in depth analysis over the final set, it was recommended Switzerland as the best country to make the next step of XY internationalization in Europe.
